Character registration? You've already done it, and posting in the OOC forum was a good move. It will get you noticed, and interacting faster - case in point. So, basically, it's your thread, you get to ask what you want.

Or do I have to create a completely new character here? Yah, you can create a whole new character, or rehash a preexisting one. There's no clear right or wrong really (except I'd read over the does and don't in our Admin section). If you have a Master Jedi from this other site, well, it's fine to start as said Master here. You'd just have to start with a clean slate IC-wise. Do you have an idea of where you want to start? There are plenty of people that will be getting back from the weekend holiday, and graduations to help out... I'm just here because I actually had the time to be. lol. |

Hey BlueGhost, welcome to the site! Have fun with writing out the bio for your character -- it's one of my favorite things to do! In the bottom right of your screen you can switch accounts -- that allows you to create an entirely different log-in / account per character if you'd like, although I know there are plenty of folks who play via one account. It's up to you!
Like Jud was saying, check out the Admin section for tips on fleshing out your character, and how to go about starting off on JvS. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

I read most of the rules and regulations (minus the star fleet page since my character won't have any) before I even joined. I also looked at your rules for light sabers and who is suggested to use what styles. I didn't catch though how many lightsaber styles you're allowed to have (minus the no Vaapad), my character I plan on using here has four down on the other site (her favorite is Niman, she also knows Shien, Ataru, and is currently learning Soresu for defense.) I never saw if there's a limit here. Also, another dumb question: I man-made technology for her on that other website, do I have to re-submit that stuff here as well? The character's name is Nellja, she's a fan-made species, and she's a Jedi with a lot of "I am awesome" attitude! xD |

You would be surprised how flavourful a person can be, and I do not mean by the consumption of flesh. I may be a Villain, but not a Cannibal.
I would suggest that you cobble together all the information you can imagine about your fanon species and have it put through the Technological Advisory Board in the Player's Guild Council area. Should it be approved by the Councillors, then most people won't have an issue dancing about with this newly imagined species; adding more spice into the variety we currently have. jedivsith.boards.net/post/59460/thread <--

I see you've already encountered many people from our array of escaped crazies. They just can't seem to keep the door of the institution closed lately.
I'm Narty, resident Tusken and self proclaimed overseer of Tatooine. Depending on the weaknesses or strengths that your character's species may have, it might be in the Wookiepedia, so you could hop around the list without having to submit anything.

Follow that link and you may be able to find something that fits, but it is a lot to go through. If you didn't know about Wookiepedia before, let it become your best friend now.
And if you ever find yourself on my little dustball of a planet, I'd be happy to cater some RP to you.

Good to see some new blood! Essentially, the biggest thing to remember here is that if you want to do something, and you're not quite sure of the rules or such, just remember: RP IT OUT. If you've got an rare item, or some extensive modifications, or some rare force power - the really only big thing to do is RP your acquisition of those things. You know, try not to just make things materialize. From the sound of it you're used to writing sites with a little more registration - I've been to a few myself - with registration forms, and probably minimum writing standards as well. We're a lot more relaxed here - you can change your character or species and what not at will. Also, it's important to note, that as a new character you are entitled to materialize a ship up to freighter in size for your personal use. It's something of an unspoken rule to allow newbies transportation. Also, generally, force users on this site have a "top ten" force powers list, thats ten distinct powers, plus the core powers. More powers than those ten are typically backed up by RP.
Beyond that...there's not really anything more than the rules you've already read. Go wild, go crazy, and have fun. We've got a lot of lightsiders around here - you should be more than able to find a group to RP with. Or, if you want to go it solo (something I'm infamous for) you're more than welcome to. Anyways, welcome to our community - and don't be afraid to ask questions. We would MUCH rather you ask questions than to be like some of our other more...troublesome...members of the past.

OOH! Just noticed! You said your character's favored saber style was Niman...that's awesome! Zane's is also Niman-centered, with the added flair of dual-wielding in Jar'Kai form. I notice your are a Jedi Knight... do you already have an apprentice? And I love your unique style! My character has two, purple lightsabers solely meant for duel-blading, bu she simply applies that with Ataru or Niman and really doesn't use Jar-Kai yet. She may learn it though... |
