Monthly Storyboard

I just was looking for RP justification for pursuing it. The Empire, politically speaking, has painted themselves to be. . .morally ambiguous at best; has not shown the Republic aggressions-- as of yet-- and has 'partnered' with them for relief efforts (of which I don't know if that has actually RPed itself out, but was agreed apon). The republic is short on resources, fleets, personnel (and writers); so I just needed some justification in investing in it instead of a piece of dirt in the middle of the galaxy. Not to mention the 'deadlock' in the Senate makes any decisions hard to make (if you know what I am driving at ;-)   ).

hyperspace and the commerce should do the job.

Fighting over Dressel would be like fighting over Chicago. I mean, sure it's pretty and it's in the middle, but there are other more advantageous places to take advantage of.

Why should the Republic risk butting heads with the Empire? It's not like Imps are going around bringing the Heart of Darkness to a shore near you. Hell, right now they are more like neutral co beneficiaries. Much of it all as a conflict seems contrived, but maybe that will change with all of this.

Sacrificing tithe payers is probably the way to go. Just saying.

I've been giving ideas and no one but me has said anything about them, which doesn't really strike me as productive, soooooooooooo, your on your own now, don't say I didn't try to help~

If you actually looked at my first post on the thread, I actually gave a pretty good picture of how characters like mine could change the cold war, or how hiring of serious bounty hunters could change things. You want to escalate a cold war, have hackers from both sides start doing their thing and showing the galaxy everyone's dirty laundry. Show some videos sith kept on emperor entire on senients, or a republic mission that went wrong and got covered up. That opens up room for every one Sith want to silence a hacker, they send a bounty hunter or a sith after them, or the Republic tries to buy off their secrets before they are spilled.

It's not rocket science. I gave you a general idea to work with and expand upon. We're adults, we don't need to hold each others hands to come up with ideas.

As I am me, I've finished reading everything that has been said and am slightly confused and yet feel the need to summarize basically what happened for other people who are as easily confused as I am. So basically all of our blathering and talking and nonsensical philisophical idialism mumbo jumbo comes back to "lets give it a shot and see what happens". Since everything deserves a shot one way or anther we have now sort of moved on to what the first task is going to be. Era gave a decent Idea that I thought would be a good tester (and here is where the confusion comes into play) then other people started popping out new ideas (unless they are just ideas added on that seem like new ideas to drunkards like me)

Pierce, you have a general idea. The point of all of this is to have a specific plot point. If you don't at least have a where and a what, well, a week isn't a whole lot of time to plan. Narrow it down if you want it considered.

Okay, that's Republic and Imperial support.

Okay, here's what I have in mind.

There are a couple of ways to win an election. Having the best platform and most convincing argument generally isn't the best one. I'll be NPCing the Dressel population for this exercise. Really here, the sky's the limit. Bribe officials, intimidate the opposition, lie, cheat, kill, ect. I'll also be RPing Dressel's security forces, so try not to get caught. If you need NPCs for stuff, let me know what you need and I'll get it set up.

Conditions for success:
Campaign: Winning the hearts and minds is a part of winning the world. Do what you can to paint yourselves as angels and the other guys as demons, ect. Lord knows there's enough propaganda material out there for both sides.

Secret Squirrel Shit:
Slice computers, steal documents, plant drugs, whatever. It's all part of making the other side look side look bad.

Playing Dirty:
Winning an election is all fine and dandy, but giving yourself an, um, unconventional advantage from the start is going to help tremendously.

Once it's all said and done, I'll end up looking over it like a duel in the GBA.

Thoughts?

No writer cap, on account of the fact that we don't know how many people are interested and we don't know how many we can use. Since this is the first go-round, I'm pretty much expecting to work out many a bug or kink in the system.

As for start date, this weekend is going to suck for RP, and the next I'll be indisposed, so for now, I'm saying Monday the 14th. That should give us time to get everyone and everything together.
