To Cass, being released to a Jedi was an improvement, be it marginal. It was going to be interesting how this plays out. Cass muscles out of the grip of the security and approaches the Jedi knight. He winks at Ar'lah. See you soon sweetheart. He gives a sarcastic bow to the Jedi Knight.SO i take it you are my new captor? Shall we be going then? =Jordan Halcyon=The Jedi Knight laughed at the use of the word 'captor' as he followed Cass out of 500 Republica. He could sense the distrust in the other man's mind, but he could hardly blame him given the events of the last fifteen minutes. Personally, he was not worried. The red-eyed man did not seem like a serious threat. If he had been, he would not have been captured so easily or so bloodlessly. Once the doors had closed behind them, and they were alone on a side porch of the famous establishment, he turned to the younger man. "Relax. The Vor was overreacting. I just want to ask you some questions, and then you're free to go." He held his hand out to the now-unshackled stranger. "Jordan Halcyon." The Corellian, with short, black hair, deep grey eyes, and flowing green robes, was a few years older than Cass, but had a youthful, carefree air about him.

Aya nods & takes one of the open seats, though her escort remains standing a pace away. The figure's use of the term ba'vodu meant he was taking orders from someone in Or'dinii, though probably not Plu himself. If it had been Plu the mando would have likely used the term ba'buir. -Aya (In Mando'a) So Mr. Ghost, what 'fictional' story do you have to tell? The gentle stress on the word fictional was intentional. That way the figure would know that Aya wasn't planing on doing anything about his presence, as well as allowing him to speak more freely under the pretence of telling a story. =Agent 235=There was a strange, grating snort from beneath the Mandalorian's helmet, which might have been a laugh, although if it was, it definitely did not come from a human. His choice of wording had been intentional misdirection as to his level of clearance. "Fictional? I'm hurt. I prefer to call it 'selective truth.'" He whispered under his breath. The cloaked figure glanced from side to side, then back to Aya, and he resumed in a low, gravelly tone. "I am Agent 235. My real name must remain a secret, but you may call me Nuke. I am sure you already know for whose intelligence service I work." If Aya could have seen his eyes, he would have winked at this point. "Our clan used to have offices in this very building, so it was not difficult for me to find my way inside." Nuke, or Nuukh as it was more properly spelled, actually was the Noghri's real name. Assuming, that is, a spy ever has a permanent, real name to call his own.

Cass Raklin. Cass hesitantly shakes the Jedi Knights hand. Charmed to be sure. Ask away, I am an open book. There was sarcasm in his voice but also truth. He would answer all the right questions.

-Aya (Mando'a) The truth cares little for selection, & 'Uncle' always did have a strange fascination with knowing everything.
Which was itself a ironic statement for two reasons. The first was that it was coming from a being that had copies of herself spying on literally every public venue & private facility she could access. The second reason was that Aya's entire existence, one as a droid masquerading as a living being & as high society at that, was based on telling outright lies & subtle misdirections. As a 'just a droid' Aya wouldn't even have control over her own shell, let alone one of the more powerful Corporations operating out of Mandalorian space. Aya could make a fair guess at the spy's race, based on her Grandfather's preferred way of business & the general physical parameters of the armour. It would be a pointless gesture though.

Bel'fima blinked, surprised, a rare tell on her part. That is fantastic news. While I cannot actually accept on behalf of Ryloth, I can virtually guarantee that the newly elected Twi'lek Clan Council will accept this offer. Thank you.
She extended her hand to the Selonian in an act of friendship.

-Herald- EIGHTS HOUR! Zitan was happy. She had made some good connections in this meeting, not to mention 18 her assistant whos pictures were amasing. Crom'nen in close talks with a mandalorian was a gem, and would be used, abused and meadia-raped back home for sure. Even if they only greeted eachother all quick-like. This place was a haven for Imperial Inteligence, with pictures and recordings that were worth gold. Like, the Emperor. THe pictures made with him will be used for positive propaganda for sure, later on showing how heroical he was to show up just with a tiny security attachment to help a suffering world the Republic was not able to help.
She was just in conversation with the man from Bothan, a furry thing. She herself had seen a good couple of these in the Crucible, sold as slaves, used as fighters. She smiled at him warmly. It is a pleasure to meet you. Ms. Zitan. You make the Bothan people very happy with your work. Any time government credits are unneeded to aid people of a world, is a good one. I was just telling Crom'nen that the people of Bothwui are using every resource they can to aid Ryloth. Everyone He winks at Crom'nen, hoping he would catch the meaning. You have done very well my lady. You deserve a personal toast, at a time more fitting than this. -19, AKA Koyi Zitan- "Oh darling, if there was ever a time for toasting, it is this. Booze may be expensive, but it goes to charity, so put your furry tail where your mouth is darlin and cash up for the people of Ryloth, and I promise you. I will toast in YOUR name."

He would answer all the right questions. =Jordan Halcyon="Aside from the lightsaber, there is really only one question that matters." Jordan replied smoothly as he released the other's hand. He noticed the sarcasm, but refused to be baited by it, and kept his calm. He wanted Cass to realize that he was a friend, and could help him. He wanted to earn the other man's trust. "Why did you really come to the gala tonight? And don't tell me you were just there to support the Twi'leks. This is a big political gathering, and everyone has an agenda." He paused, and cracked a joking smile. "Even me. You know why I'm here? To keep an eye on people like that Vor." Sometimes investing a little bit of openness paid off in situations like this. If Cass was working for a third party, he hoped the man's responses would clarify the situation.

She replied as she took the Twi'lek's hand in her own paw, and shook it with the vigor of one who has had extensive military training. "What would be the proper protocol to extend our offer to the Clan Council? I would be happy to make the offer in person, if appropriate, but if not, you are welcome to relay it on our behalf." Sara knew that Bel'fima could easily play this to her own political gain back home, but she wasn't concerned about Twi'lek domestic politics. The Republic military needed to be seen taking concrete steps to defend outlying systems, before their enemies began to test their recent appearance of weakness. That was all that mattered. Any more failures could bring war, even to the core Republic worlds such as Corellia.

Up till now Zarine had not contributed much to the conversation between Senator Koronov and the one who wished to the the new leader of the Empire. Instead, she had appeared politely unconcerned and listened, gathering information. And when Koronov looked around for another drink, she had one to hand him. "Making friends?" she inquired, sotto voce. She was pleased that more members of the Senate had shown up, and she was already making notes of the faces and names that belonged to the representatives of worlds. Being relatively new to the political scene herself she felt that she had a lot of catching up to do, and while she would have died rather than admit it, she was glad that Koronov was here with her. He seemed to know a lot of people.~An Empire in which the Sith do not have a priority---what will that be like?~ I wondered. I doubted it would last, since rumbles of Imperial thought tended to attract the servants of the Dark Side of the Force. But from an academic standpoint-- As the Emperor moved on to greet other guests at the gala, and the ruckus from the intruder's detention dissipated, Dmitri retook his seat at the table, and turned his attention back to Zarine. "So it would seem." He replied, taking a sip from his new drink. "Although I think everyone wants to be friends at a gathering like this." He paused and glanced in Seleevan Khar's direction with distaste. "Er, almost everyone, anyway." He chuckled. "It's a prime opportunity for propaganda holos to be shot and for intelligence to be collected. You know the old saying: hold your friends close, and your enemies closer." He fell silent as his gaze scanned the room, looking for other familiar faces, and counting up in his head how many members of the Senate had shown up.He had seen Captain Ruluwoor approach the acting Senator, and he had a hunch what Admiral Korr had in mind, even though he was well out of earshot of their conversation. He only wished he could be a glitterfly on the wall when Crom'nen heard about this latest development. It would reveal a lot about the corrupt Senator's true loyalties.

First the lightsaber... I can't truly prove to you that it is mine... But maybe this will convince you. Cass reaches out his hand to the place his seber was held inside the tunic. He didn't try to pull it away, that would have been a threat and wouldn't help the situation. He began to disassemble the weapon, very quickly in the with the Force. A task that was only possible if done an insane amount of times. He then pulled the pieces out as one and levitated them in front of Jordan. Everything was taken apart, the silvery blue crystal gleamed in the lights of the city. Then in one flick of the wrist the parts dove back together in perfect place and sequence. The hilt floats into Jordan's hand before the blade comes to life away for them both. If that doesn't convince you, I am unsure if there is anything else I can do. As far as why I am here. I need work. No i am not a Jedi, and no i dont want to be one nor would you people want me. I am not a sith, or dark side user either. I am devoted to justice and using every tool that can aid in it. Forbidden powers or techniques have no meaning to me, just the mindset behind them, what spurs them on. This was how I was trained. I wasn't joking when I said I had spent all of my last credits to get to this party. I expected to find an employer, someone that needed things done. I have skills that are valuable to the right people. The problem is you need more than skills to get to the right people. Tonight was my shot, and the Vor took it from me. I look forward to meeting him again. Now i am not sure what I am going to do. Does that answer your questions Jedi? Cass' face a blend of emotions. Annoyance, self assuredness, despair, and the slightest hint of regret.

Standash takes her leave from the Vong, but makes a mental note to look into him more. She walks over to Koronov and Zarine, her brilliant dress shimmering in the lights. Hello there, Senator Koronov, I have heard so much about you. And you Senator S'daya, Yavin is such a fitting world for you, I know of no one else who could do justice to its beauty. She had done her homework on both of them and was ready.

She was not at all what he expected, and he had been around long enough to sense something a foot. He had no proof so he went on as normal but on his guard.Well of course then my lady. For you may I suggest a staple of my own world? An Ak egg porter perhaps? It is a special brew from my home city. I had a dozen cases donated to tonight's events. It is rich in flavor, and no there are not any real eggs in it. The bubbles it makes are more egg shaped then round, thats where its name comes from. I would love for you to suggest something from your home for me to drink. I may not be as young as I once was, but I have yet to find a drink to beat me.

Either Senator Crom'nen can do it, or if you would like, you can stand with him and deliver it. But you are right, this needs to be done urgently. There is a saying that I learned before coming to Coruscant to represent my people, when I was serving as the chairman for Crom'nen's charity, the Intergalactic Liberation Mission. That saying is "do for one what you wish you can do for all." In defending Ryloth, we show all our member states in the Outer Rim that they are not forgotten.

A flustered Ar'lah returned to her conversations with Orik. I apologize for that. Did I overhear correctly that you are wanting to transform my species? Or did I misunderstand? Meanwhile...
Crom'nen indeed caught the meaning, but was worried little about such. He glanced down at Bel'fima who was delayed. Such great fortune, as so was he. I hope that you all do not find me to be rude, but I wish to speak with Senator Karesh and then I must prepare myself for my speech. If you will excuse me... He motioned toward the stairs that led down from the balcony and back to the main floor. Ludo awaits the departure of everyone else.

Nodding his understanding the ex-Imperial Knight inwardly chuckled. Long ago (okay so like 60 years ago, but in another lifetime) the same thing had happened to him. He had "kidnapped" a powerful mans wife except they didnt get away. She died and he had to live on with the guilt. Your father must have loved you very much then. The same cant be said about mine Your employer? What is it that you do for the Senator exactly? Had he known the woman better, he may have added a wink to the end making it into something sexual. He did not however as this was a black tie event. That kind of thing wouldnt happen for some time yet. Not until the third or fourth act when people had consumed too much of the drink. He would wait until later for that kind of thing. Im afraid Ive been out of touch with the galaxy for about two years. Any sort of power I once held is all but diminished, after all I went from having dozens of titles to having just the two. Leaning in close to Mia he whispered in her ear Plus Im Imperial, as are all my holdings and with things as they are in the galaxy, or so Ive surmised something tells me that our two factions dont play well together. He hoped to the Gods that Tralus was still a Republic world or else he would be making a fool of himself. Maybe he was already but only time would tell. She was somewhat started when he drew close, but tried to hide her surprise.Right now, I don't exactly do much. The Senator promised my father that he would keep an eye on me, so he created this position to keep me close. That being said, you being here tonight shows that the possibility exists that our two factions might have more in common than you might believe. I intend to use my position to make that future possible.

When all others had departed and his guards had secured the stairs, Crom'nen sent Dunn away to find a good spot before the speech. Then he turned with his back toward the crowd to keep people from even raising his lips. He placed his hands on the balcony, and spoke to Ludo Karesh for the first time.I have activated a jammer which will block transmissions, recordings, and even directional microphones. Therefore, I propose that we dispense with "Nice to meet you" and other similar lies. I know that you or your people were the ones who entered my home, and altered my personnel file on Ryloth to list yourself as a known associate. Of all the beings of the galaxy, I am curious why you chose to single me out and seek to gain my attention, something which you have done more than necessary to accomplish.

She'd nearly asked if that was why he was holding her so closely, but it wasn't the time or place for such a flippant remark. Besides, Koronov did not seem likely to appreciate such an obvious maneuver. "Crom'nen has been oozing his way around the floor with the oily charm that sees him still in office, I see." She wondered if anyone other than Crom'nen knew where his allegiance lay. Zarine would place good credits on Crom'nen's only allegiance being himself and his own advancement. But, perhaps she misjudged him. Maybe he felt as strongly as he appeared to about Ryloth. She couldn't shake the feeling that all was not as it seemed. Zarine wondered how the Twi'Lek Jedi felt about the Ryloth debacle. "I'm not sure I'd want anyone here at my back in a firefight," she added quietly.

I look forward to meeting him again. Now i am not sure what I am going to do. Does that answer your questions Jedi? Cass' face a blend of emotions. Annoyance, self assuredness, despair, and the slightest hint of regret. =Jordan Halcyon=The Jedi Knight's eyes widened considerably at this display of dexterity in the Force. Cass was not merely some random force sensitive who could use his powers as a weapon to bludgeon others. He had actual training and skill in applying his powers, and he was clearly very familiar with the weapon that had been seized from him by the security forces. It did not conclusively prove legal ownership, but it did prove, at the very least, that he had possessed the weapon for some time. Jordan chuckled as he took the weapon, hefted it, then shut down the blade once more. "You mistake my purpose. I primarily raised the accusation of theft so that the Vor would hand over your weapon to me, rather than keeping it for himself. I have little reason to doubt that it is yours." He fell silent as the younger man continued to explain himself. His words were pure, but were they truthful? Opening himself to the Force, the Corellian reached deeply, trying to sense every corner of this stranger's presence and any attempt to deceive or to conceal. The revelation of Force use complicated matters. He was only a Knight, and allowing a non-Jedi force user to go free because he claimed to serve the light side of the Force was not necessarily a decision that he had the power to make. The council would say that he could be decieved, and they would be right. But he did not have to make that decision immediately. It was something to meditate on, as they continued their conversation."Yes, it does, and I am sorry for your lost opportunity, Cass." Jordan said quietly, empathizing with his frustration and regret. "But all is not lost. We are standing in the capital of the Republic, and there are many ways to make connections and find employers in a place like this." He paused, his gaze falling once again to the lightsaber grasped in his right hand. He wasn't quite ready to give it back to Cass yet, but a plan was beginning to form in his head. "Tell me more about your skills, and maybe I can recommend someone for you to contact."

"An acquaintance of yours?" she inquired lightly, following his gaze over to Seleevan Khar. He was hosting this gathering, perhaps to gain political clout? Zarine took a sip of her own drink, appreciating the bubbly-tickly feeling of the beverage, "Is that why you don't mind being seen with me?" she asked archly. She'd nearly asked if that was why he was holding her so closely, but it wasn't the time or place for such a flippant remark. Besides, Koronov did not seem likely to appreciate such an obvious maneuver. "Crom'nen has been oozing his way around the floor with the oily charm that sees him still in office, I see." Zarine wondered how the Twi'Lek Jedi felt about the Ryloth debacle. "I'm not sure I'd want anyone here at my back in a firefight," she added quietly. Dmitri coughed quietly. "No, not at all." He lowered his voice, and his face took on a pained expression. "That Vor is a war criminal who attacked Corellia and Fondor, and yet here he is, trying to worm himself into the good graces of the Republic. I am sure it is a trap. The only question is whether any of us will see it in time. But I can't prove anything yet, so I must watch and wait." He sighed. "Even the Jedi don't seem to know what he's really doing." He wanted to say even more, but it would not have been prudent in such a public setting, nor were his true feeling exactly appropriate for polite company. "Ask me about him again sometime, and I'll tell you the whole story. But not here." He rolled his eyes. Seen with her? He didn't need any more publicity in the tabloids back home. If anything, he needed less. The memory of his attacker yesterday was still fresh in his mind. Speaking of which.... "That is the irony, isn't it?" He mused. "A room full of powerful people, begging to be trusted, and most of 'em make your skin crawl. And then there's that boy they just caught with a lightsaber. He actually did have my back in a difficult situation yesterday, and he's the one getting thrown out on his ear. If that isn't poetic, I don't know what is." Slowly, he shook his head, a flat smile crossing his lips. "Not anyone, though? Not even me?" He began--.Standash takes her leave from the Vong, but makes a mental note to look into him more. "Good evening, Senator Thul." Koronov exclaimed, putting down his glass and standing up to greet the newcomer. He was secretly glad for the heralds who had announced the guests, or he would have been at a loss to know the Alderaanian's name. He did not remember her being announced before the Senate just yet, but maybe it had happened after he left to catch a few winks of sleep and get ready for the evening. "Welcome to Coruscant, and to the Senate. It is a joy to have Alderaan represented among the Republic once more."
