The galaxy is a cruel an unforgiving place. Pirates and rogue mandalorians have attacked and sacked the Rylothian city of Lessu, thousands have died, millions have lost their homes and posessions. The goverment is in disarray, sickness and poverty is spreading.
YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO HELP!
This is your personal invitation to the 500 Republica Main Concert and Ball Hall, where celebrities and spokespeople await your interest, and millions of suffering await YOUR aid! The Charity organisation 'Victims of Atrocity' is inviting you to an evening of live music, excellent food, gambling, learning about the Twilek culture and learning about a Twilek Tragedy.
On the Program:
- Emi-Lee Wareno, Musical Preformance - Rylothian Senator Crom'nen Fell, spokesperson and vitness testemony - Lottery with AMASING PRIZES amongs those that donate - - -
Security By Seleevan Khar, and Strike Force Nemesis Triton
So, finally I got around to it, my dears and loves. It is time for THE CHARITY BALL!!!!!!!! So, what I need, first of all, is singers, musicians, IC artists to preform! Someone wants to try their hands at comady? IC Standup? Dancing spacebears? ANYTHING (withing taste) IS WELCOME!
Also, a nice roster of who comes is... nice.
To make it easy on us all, I shall edit THIS POST every now and then with the new information as the discussion goes, so its easy to find what is going on and where the planing and the show (when it starts and is in action) is heading.
Right now it looks like this:
Imperial agents of the Juvex Import Export are organising a Charity Ball for the atrocities done against Ryloth, to ease the civilian suffering on the world, but in truth just wants to get closer to the elite of Coruscant. Here, mingling, spying, political manouvering, contact gathering, info gathering can be done, and new writers can show off their talants, or new characters, or old characters showing new talants...
Just have fun! Basically in the spirit of the good old Phoenix Imperium Balls on Bastion. IMPERIALS! Do not fret, you can also come, all you have to do is ask a Bateman (located either where you last met him, or in the Intelligence Ministry on Kuat)

Is there a way for wanted fugitives from Coruscanti justice to contribute? I imagine I'd be arrested if I tried to attend. ^_^

Good to see this thread at last.
I'll be joining as discussed in-character, here, and in PMs, as a musical performer, working my "magic" as it were.
Hopefully, some politicians, Jedi, maybe even Sith or Imperials show up. It'll make things more interesting.

For one, get a disguise, and bring watts of cash. Second, try to get on the performance/speach list?(with a disguise) I would love to have you, jsut for the sake of exitement and drama it could bring.

It seems like the kind of an event for an admiral to attend. Yes?

either as an imperial diplomat normally attending, or in disguise and fake name given by a Bateman, faking some republic citizen or other.
Since things happening on this ball may have weight in the universe, I am trying to keep it somewhat legit.

I could go for a fake name or a diplomat. Hmm...
I'll let you know Atia, what I come up with.

Is this knowledge widely known IC?

Something like this would definitely be attempting to garner publicity. Public awareness would be the main purpose of the whole thing. Therefore, I believe it's widely probable that many would know about it across the galaxy. As such, to keep out undesirables, security would be needed. A military presence wouldn't be too far fetched.

I shall like to attend as Xeonon, or rather his shade. Just to see how this goes as its a charity event run by Imperials for the Republic. To keep it clean I will probably take on someones face to get in, have the proper credentials and so on.

I was kinda thinking about.... well, having either someone else from the republic take care of security, and thus make it fully ok and fair, since..... I kinda am the opposition. Fair because my republic military character is a sith. If none else takes the reigns of Republic security on this to snatch up the undiserables, I will be there with his Reptilian Highness. He will attend anyways.
As our Talented Artist says, it is and would be widely known yes, in republic worlds, and maybe even at places in the Imperium where they get Republic news broadcasts.

Public knowledge you say? Oh excellent! It would be mighty rude of someone who caused a certain atrocity to attend the charity event organised for it. Therefore I'll be there and I will enjoy my little tussle with whoever is attempting to organise security a the event I hope my favourite Senator is attending

I shall attend. My character needs something to do, and he's in the neighborhood.

BP, I will be attending. Therefore, perhaps you should not... He would have no choice but to engage.
Has anyone invited the Jedi? Perhaps some council members could attend. Even though they hate Crom'nen, they would support the people.

Let's see. the Admiral is far too old for parties (well, not really), is in seclusion (or so he would have the galaxy think), & is otherwise busy (hurrah fluff!). On the other hand, it is tradition for a high-ranking member of his family to attend these balls. I guess this will be Aya's 'public' debut (as most of her SLs & RP has been set in the shadows till this point).
Other than that. Resi is about as likely to attend as a rancor. Mary is more or less the same.
Marcos on the other hand is a mid-rank officer for the Empire (with ties much higher up the ladder), so he might be dragged along as 'filler'/extra protection from someone else higher up. Especially as he is a Novatrooper (in other words, the ones that would be expected to be security in a situation like this). As just a Major though he is unlikely to be in charge of security (or at least in over-all charge).
Edit Note: on the other hand, it would be funny as all get out to have this as a family reunion (albeit with Aya being the only one there using her legitimate name). Ah, back room drama. Then again, if I do that, Marcos would blow the Admiral's incognito cover. It would also require Marcos to explain how he knows what the Admiral really looks like, which would blow the cover off the fact that Marcos is the Admiral's semi-disowned/run-away son. Depending on how long it took for them to spot each other, several other things might become public. In short, it would get hilariously awkward very, very quickly.

Darma will attend and be making a substantial contribution to the fund himself, not sure how actively I/he will participate but we'll try to be there and mingling.

After talking with Crom, this could be an event where the new Emperor, Nicademus, could appear as a bold political statement.
I am definitely considering it.

Might have Renan show up, it'd be interesting to see how people react to a chiss authority at this little gala, not sure if he'll do much more than gather his own intel, but he might arrive.

This could turn into a thing where people of different groups, stand around and stare at each other, while pretending to give a crap about the common man.
Just like politics in real life!
