The brow above Felia's huge eyes furrowed into a frown of concern, a quick glance at Jake communing a shared worry. While Felia did not know the details of the impending arrival, nor that which had prompted such a visit, it did not take a genius to determine it had something to do with Morgan's distress. She could feel it through the Force, perhaps more than anyone out of their group aside from Jake, her natural empathy making it somewhat difficult at times. Emotions often bled over into Felia from those around her, and strong emotions such as Morgan's anxiety would have once made the petite girl unwell. She was stronger now though and had learned to counter such negative emotions with love and warmth. She did so now. Saturating the Force with hope and well-being, creating a kind of mental squeeze of the arm for Morgan.
"Its okay, Morgan. We have faith in you AND the Force."
She flashed her a smile that looked like the sun coming up, determined to bestow some cheer on their friend. She had no idea that her words could be a herald for things to come, that faith may be key to certain events that would test them and their abilities... But I'm getting ahead of myself here.
Finally they spilled out of the lecture halls and into the late afternoon sunshine, the fiercely burning orb that shared the same name of the planet hung low to the west and already two of the eight moons could be seen hanging lazily in the sky. They were not the only ones headed towards the hangars to the right. Many of the students were of a similar mind in wanting to see the visiting Yuzhaan Vong. Felia let out a sign as she realised that there would be little room in which to view any events, her diminutive stature making it unlikely she'd get a glimpse from the back.

Turning his face up to the sky Brakus fairly skipped with enthusiasm as they made their way towards the entrance to the hangar complex. The strap of his backpack fell and slipped down his arm prompting him to stick his elbow out at an odd angle in order to catch before hitching it back up onto his shoulders. Ahead he could see Master Gannor enter the hangar with Molan hot on his heels. The sight drew an excited 'whoop. from the red-headed youth."See that?"His wide eyes flickered over those with him, seemingly incapable of settling in one place for more than a split second. His tousled hair lapped lazily against his head in the gentle breeze and his grin nearly split his face in half."Master Chalco AND Doctor Molan heading to the hangar. It IS the day! Its GOT to be!"With another excited exclamation Brakus bounced their way into the hangar...

*The attempts at encouragement were admirable, though Morgan wasn't entirely sure that Master Gannor and the Ithorian doctor's departure for the hangar was proof of anything. To be quite honest, she wasn't entirely sure if she actually did want to go to the hangar today and face more disappointment. She'd be better off not wasting her time and only answering when it actually happened. If it actually happened.
Any reply she could have though was cut off as a rough hand took hers and tugged her, a voice bidding,* "C'mon!"
*She stumbled before realizing they belonged to a Devaronian boy.* "Koda, what are you doing?"
*He grinned.* "You want to get to the hangar, we want to get there to work on the ship more, I'm bigger than most kids here, I'll get us through!"
"If by 'we' you mean myself and Bolt," *Niam, the Arkanian boy, corrected.*
"And you could tell her that before grabbing her," *admonished the blue-haired half-Zeltron girl, Laney.
Koda scowled at both of them, but before he could reply, Morgan shook her head and extricated her hand.* "I'm not gonna go." *Jake stared at her in surprise, but whatever remark he might've had Morgan didn't allow to arrive.* "Someone let me know if it changes. I'm gonna go unwind."
"Want me to come?" *Laney asked, somewhat eagerly.
Morgan hesitated a moment, glancing around at the group before deciding that she could use the company and nodded.* "That would be... good." *Laney smiled and joined her as the two of them broke away from the group. Morgan gave a lazy wave over her shoulder as she called out,* "Have fun, I guess."
*Jake, Niam, and Koda stared after her, the latter seemingly with some envy, but Niam broke the silence by turning towards Koda.* "I know I'm no pretty face, but what say you lead me to the hangar like you were normally intending to?"
*Koda sighed and nodded.* "Everyone, out of the way! We got better reason to be in the hangar than you!"
*He shouldered his way through the crowd, causing many students to stumble and shuffle, creating enough of a gap that Niam was able to slip in behind him.* "Wait up!" *called another girl, the flower-laden Sylvie, who quickly fell in behind Niam before the crowd started to seal up again. This left only Jake with the rest of the crowd, staring after where Morgan had vanished with some concern...*

The old Jedi stood outside the classroom. He extended his senses to the room feeling the young man inside. Rambunctious, egotistical, arrogant, and self-centered, a teenager he felt in the room. Mir loved kids, they were one of the few things in this universe that could actually give him joy, but teenagers... Mir was a Jedi, a good one. He didn't late hate cross into his mind, but if it did, teenagers would fill that void. He was given this assignment because he was qualified and free, though he figured it was the council punishing him for something. It could also be that his pessimism had given him patience. When you expect the worse, you don't get discouraged when things end up bad. No matter what, the man was driven by duty, and at the moment his duty was this young man, He would work with him and train him. He waits longer to see how the young man would react. The time continued to tick away. He was fairly certain that this was where he was supposed to be. He checked his datapad, making sure he had read the room number right. There were no other emails saying anything had changed. He put it back away. Wondering if his new Master had decided not to show up, or if perhaps the man had grown so old he had forgotten which room he was meant to go to. Even with the Force allowing Jedi to grow older, he had read that some could still suffer from such maladies.
He unclipped his saber hilt then. Since his Master wasn't here yet, he might as well make the most of the time. Van activated the upper switch, causing the first blade to activate. Unlike most of his fellow Jedi Padawans, or even most Jedi for that matter, his blade did not glow one of the usual colours. Instead, it cast a pure white light. He had no idea why that was, and none of his teachers had ever explained it to him. But none of them had shown concern over it. So he did not dwell on the colouration long.
With the sole blade activated, he started to spin the blade around. The tell-tale hum of the Lightsaber sounding through the room as it was spun around. Van steadily swung it faster and faster, before gripping the hilt with both hands. The second blade activating as he spun it around his back, his grip shifting as he did so. He grabbed the hilt with both hands again as he brought the saber around the other side, and lunged forward with one of the blades

The old man frowned. He really wasn't disappointed, over the years frowning had become to facial expression he made when thinking. He had hoped the boy would spend the time meditating, or exploring the area in the Force. Mir wasn't hiding his presence or actions. No, the boy when bored went right for his lightsaber. Mir was not surprised, this matched everything he had been told about the boy. Sensing the room, Mir found what he was looking for. A small ottoman. He grasped it with the Force and threw it. Hard enough, but still easily deflected in a number of ways by someone that had even the slightest enhanced awareness of his surroundings.

Even as deep in practice as he was, Van still sensed and saw the ottoman flying across the room. He shifted his stance slightly to the side and swung the left side of his saber down, cutting it in half. The ottoman split apart and harmlessly flew by Van, before clattering to the ground. With the imminent threat dealt with, he spun around to face the door, sensing the presence of someone just outside the room. Undoubtedly they were the one responsible for the ottoman attack Who's there? Show yourself...

Or you could just look for yourself... I haven't exactly been hiding The old man fill the room with his voice. It came from everywhere and at the same time nowhere. He let it hang in the air before opening the door. I think you own Master Calmcacil a new ottoman. The cynic still enjoyed the occasional stupid joke. I find it interesting your lack of patience. Not surprising, just interesting. I am Master Mir-Atash Delphi, I assume you are Van Stargazer?

Van briefly tightened his grip on his saber, before deactivating the blades as the doors opened to reveal Master Delphi. His gaze drifted to the remnants of the ottoman, before quickly returning to Master Delphi. He gave a quick bow then, before clipping the saber hilt back to his belt That's me.... and some of us express patience differently Master. I find myself the most connected with the Force when handling my lightsaber... He was not one for silent meditation like many of his peers. He had tried it on many an occasion. But no matter how hard he tried to quieten his thoughts when he was sitting around doing nothing. It never worked. It was only when he was practising his saber skills, that his mind was ever truly able to go silent. That was when the Force spoke to him most

Patience isn't distracting yourself from being bored, sometimes it is just being ok with being bored. The old man returned the bow. Not smiling but not frowning as much as before. So why is it that you didn't sense me outside the room? Is that an area you need more practice in? Or were your thoughts elsewhere? His questions were accusatory, but his tone was kind despite his grumble. He was interested in the kids self-evaluation skills.

That was an interesting way of viewing it. Perhaps he would one day help his Master understand that wasn't his problem though. But his attention soon turned to the questions posed to him I don't often extend my senses beyond the room I am in, when I practice... Form four needs me to conserve my focus so I don't tire myself out too quickly...

And in a classroom, with many desks and furniture, and low ceilings, you decided form four was best why? The old man don't have confrontation in his voice. It was his opinion that form IV wasn't right for this situation, but he wanted to hear what the young man was thinking. The council has plucked me from the front. An old Jedi set in his ways, who hasn't taken a padawan or apprentice since before you were born. They have decided that I would be a good teacher for you. Why do you think that is? Please... The old man sits on an un bisected ottoman. Please be honest with me. I want to see how you honestly view yourself.

Form four can be adapted in a number of ways. While Master Yoda used it in large open spaces, I was being trained to also utilise it in such confined spaces with my dual saber... While Mir took a seat, Van remained standing. He knew better than to presume he was also being offered a seat when his Master sat down I could not honestly say... Perhaps I am just that good of a student they need their best teaching me? Perhaps we are both being punished for something we have done? The council acts in strange ways...

Are you always this overconfident, or are you acting this way for my benefit? The old man spoke in his general unamused tone. Not confrontational or accusatory but plainly. How about you search yourself and figure out what you really think the truth is?
