I think when Zuka mentioned polls he was more referring to asking if people thought planets should be reduced to one thread or not, which, to be honest, I feel very few people would find that an agreeable option. If someone wants to start that poll, they can, but it should come from that side of the argument; if they feel that strongly about it, they shouldn't hesitate to see what the rest of the site thinks, should they?
Anyway, on top of all the unnecessary work Chrys mentioned, how would we even transition into such a system anyway? Shut down the boards until all the current threads and forums are done away with and new threads are in place? Keep RPing knowing we'll all be forced into one thread eventually anyway? And after the transition, then what? Just cut off in the middle of an RP to take it into another thread, making it feel very disjointed on top of the clutter everyone posting in one planetary thread would cause?
You have to look at the whole picture, look ahead of things, and at the whole process before you can throw out silly suggestions like that. By all means, if you feel strongly enough about it, make a poll, but you're not likely to find many who agree. Honestly, this discussion should only continue if it has its own thread, because it feels a little irrelevant to its original purpose, especially because of how unlikely it is to happen. Let's keep a focus.
That focus being: Discussion on whether more threads or planets should be archived. The revised planets list seems a little more reasonable, though you keep misspelling Obroa-skai.
If we had a recognizable Yuuzhan Vong presence, I would have argued for keeping Zonama, but even in its most active times there have never been more than a handful of YV characters.
You want to see a list of individual threads that might need to go? On Korriban, every thread in this forum save for its namesake. On Garqi, every thread other than orbit, terrain, and Pesktda; why the hell does its moon have a thread when its moon has zero info on the wiki? On Lianna, basically every thread that's not orbit or the main city thread, but most of those are unused even. Basically this entire forum should go because holy hell what is this collection of uselessness?
The trouble is, these aren't my worlds, else I would just request their archival. Of course, if Whill jurisdiction decides that there are indeed too many useless threads and will accept requests for archival on worlds that currently have no ownership, then that'd be great. Alas, we'd have to wait for more official word from them.
