“...May Yun-shuno grant us pardon,
May Yun-Harla gift us wisdom,
'Form our Minds.'
May we love by the grace of Yun-Txiin and Yun-Q'aah.
We beg Yun-Ne'Shel to hear Yun-shuno’s words,
'Form our mortal bodies.'
Through the mercy of Yun'o may we seek The True Form,
That we may walk the paths of the gods,
Grant its Form unto others…”
A Prayer of The True Form
A very good day to all readers and fellow RPers. I've got some ideas for the Yuuzhan Vong race as a whole...
TL;DR
>Social and religious unease leads to ...
>Reformation - a new religious ideology called The True Form, which discards the god of war and accepts all species as possible parts of The Formed, those elevated by the gods.
> A short but bloody Civil War between devotees of Yun-Yammka and the followers of The Form
>The True Form send out peaceful missions to other planets to begin trade and commerce, in order to rebuild their civilisation
>The True Form actively invites other species to embrace the same religious path, and offers “being formed” (a new kind of Vong-forming) to “elevate” them to “Their True Form” and to connect with their life and full powers through pain and adaptation
Notes:
>Will be visiting as many planets as possible to do RP
>Combat is welcomed but make an appointment
>We are supposed to be peaceful, focussing on trade and cultural exchange, so we’re looking for both combat and noncombat interactions.
>However, we fully expect to face prejudice and widespread mistrust.
>Are you sure you want even “reformed” Yuuzhan Vong spreading their twisted ways in your society…? Or will you give them a second chance?
The Yuuzhan Vong Civil War and Reformation
After the horrific losses of the Yuuzhan War and the apparent failure of the God of War, many of the Yuuzhan Vong now trying to create a new life on Zonama Sekot are starting to feel that perhaps their gods have failed them... or they have strayed from the True Way.
The social and ideological crisis builds until some Priests and Intendants publicly expose the truth of Yun-Yammka’s origins - that this so-called god was never an original part of their beliefs, but that this god and its warrior caste were created purely to subjugate a new Galaxy. As it had completely failed and now it was obvious that this “god” was a heresy, straying from the True Way.
From the murmurings, two ring-leaders emerge - a Priest of Yun-Ne’shel, Hlif Falung, and a Intendant, Suus Shel. Together, they formulated The True Form, a new belief system for the Yuuzhan Vong that combines their pre-War orthodoxy with the reality of sharing a galaxy with many other races who can no longer be considered to be infidels fit only for destruction.
Key Beliefs:
All Life is Sacred and Comes from Yun-Yuuzhan, or perhaps even a one before Yun-Yuuzhan (a parent of both Zonama Sekot and Yuuzhan’tar)
At death, you return to Yun-Yuuzhan.
Yun-Harla, the Goddess of Deception, taught the Yuuzhan Vong the value of physical alteration from other creatures brought them closer to Yun-Yuuzhan. Shaping is the Path to The True Form (closeness with the gods, being a god-being yourself)
Yun-Ne'Shel, the Goddess of Life, represented the creation of new things and the Yuuzhan Vong followed her example. Creation and innovation is a godly trait.
Pain leads to Insight (communion with one’s true self, identifying your weaknesses and fears so that these can be unformed).
According to legend, in the Before-Time, Yun-Yuuzhan, the creator promised the lesser gods that they could ascend to his rank if they could find beings to take their place. To the Yuuzhan Vong, this meant a race such as themselves, and is the reason for their pursuit of escalation. The True Form believes that they must be formed into a Lesser God Race to free their deities to escalation, at which point their deities will reward them. The Yuuzhan Vong will then, in turn, seek a lower race in turn to escalate.
Gods:
Yun-Yuuzhan, the Creator
Yun-Harla, the Wise
Yun-Ne'Shel, the Modeler
Yun-Shuno, the Pardoner
The Lover Gods: Yun-Txiin & Yun-Q'aah
Heresies Removed:
Yun-Yammka, the God of War, demanded that the Yuuzhan Vong make blood sacrifices and sacrifice body parts to honour Yun-Yuuzhan. Blood sacrifice and sacrifice of limbs is not part of The True Form.
The belief that Yuuzhan Vong are naturally superior to all other races. The True Form is that Superiority can only be attained through Shaping and adaptation.
The Warrior Caste has been abolished and its members absorbed into other castes. Warriors are only needed in times of war, and are a burden on a race in peace-time. Instead, all castes are escalated and would be expected to take up arms in times of war. Intendants and priests would act as commanders.
Yun-Lingni, a god of the underworld/dead, is removed. All the dead return to Yun-Yuuzhan.
