Allow me to pose a question in Devil's Advocate style...After reading your profile, what if Vixont gave Luxeria what she wanted. To be trained in manipulation, but on the contingent she couldn't use it for selfish purposes? In canon Falleen are excellent political manipulators because of their pheromones. Vixont is from a wealthy and affluent family as well and has lots of contacts because of said family. Would this interest her?

probably not. She has influence and money from being from a rich family. She was able to manipulate many people before on her looks alone before discovering her ability to use the Force. She has a holocron that is teaching her the arts of manipulation and illusions. Not to mention she sought the Jedi for training initially before being denied for seeing her desires and her wish to use it for herself. So the odds are definitely against that. She’d probably laugh off the idea of Jedi trying to teach her those skills without the condition attached.
Also, when she attempts to seduce and manipulate the Hypnosis ability naturally flows off of her, which would be somewhat similar to the pheromones.

If she hadn't laughed off that attempt, it would have made a boring story. While Lux is strong, her growth would be...stymied. As it is in canon with the Dark side. Holocrons are great, but Vixont as a Falleen is a species that has a long shelf life. He already has a century of it. Which is better than a Holocron. And being a Sage adds to that, as they radiate an inner peace that calms just like natural charm. I say this, because it could make for a really good story. That is what this is all about. The war of conversion. Besides, Vixont utilizes the Grey Jedi Philosophies. Emotions aren't to be avoided all the time. In the end it is your character and you decide what direction she should go in. I merely wanted to run this by you, because Vixont would try to redeem her.

Okay, so I wanted to apologize for being absent and allowing this to stall out. It wasn't my intention to let that happen. In my absence, I've done some thinking and I'd like to 'rant' about the situation, if you will. Please bear in mind that this isn't a negative rant, so please don't take it that way. I just want to call out a few things I have issues with and why I disappeared, in no small part due to how this has played out.First and foremost, I wanted to thank Luxeria for being so awesome and slugging through this. Well done and well played! You are the MVP of this raid, in my books!
Now, to address the issues and frustrations I have been having with this whole RP. So, I agree with Aer in terms of loosely planning it. I have no issues with that. Where my issues lie is with the sudden surge of 'Jedi' characters that suddenly appeared on Felucia to counter our raid. I love the fact that this sparked such interest. What irks me is the fact that this thread has been up for months in advance of the raid. For months, it took forever to even get more than a handful of people to be involved. And as soon as this starts, we have Jedi appearing left right and center. Cool. I expected people to join up. But the whole point of this 'sign-up' thread was to keep everything organized so that things didn't get carried away and disarrayed. It also gave both the defenders and the attackers places to go so they could square off against each other, to avoid the massive clutter of people that appears to be at the main entrance.
That is my main issue with this. The Blackguard side of things has maybe a half dozen to a dozen actual writers on their side. Had I foresaw the fact that there would be Jedi sprouting up all over Felucia to counter the Blackguard, this would have went from being a raid to a full on invasion, just to keep the scales relatively even in terms of writers. So there, that is my biggest issue with this RP right now. And no, in voicing my issues here, I am not trying to push people out. I am all for inspiring people to write, so please don't take it in the sense that I am wanting people to stop writing with us, because I will never be the person who denies others from writing with me or any SL's that I am involved in.
On to my next issue. The Jedi NPCs that were utilized at the main entrance. I have a major issue with how they were portrayed. First, as it even states in the rules somewhere, no NPC should be on par with a PC character. So the skills and abilities that those NPCs had was excessive, to say the least. Second, dispelling the storm? Yeah, I think not. Malvus created it via his magical heart, to which he has prior RP to back it up and the sacrifice of several NPCs. NPC's alone could not dispel the storm. I would imagine that at least one PC, given adequate concentration away from the main battle could dispel it, but given the nature of the storm, I would imagine it would take a lot of effort to forcefully dispel it. And given how frantic and chaotic things are at the entrance, I highly doubt anyone there would be able to focus long enough to dispel it. Speaking of the storm, wow did everyone not take it as it was intended. It was meant to be a distraction. It was meant to cloud the Jedi's senses and dampen their ability to perceive what was coming, not throw up a red flag so that everyone went straight for the main entrance. So the fact that everyone immediately jumped to action, I find that a bit ridiculous. Since when has the Force ever worked that way in Canon? Regardless, I let that slide because I felt that we could push through it. So there is that issue. Bear in mind, this is me simply airing my issues here. If you have constructive criticism to add to my issues, please feel free to do so. If you are going to throw excuses as to why things progressed they way they did, I really have no interest in hearing them.
Next issue, to whomever it was that jumped to the planet and navigated down to the planet, completely ignoring the storm....no. Just no. Unless you were taking part in a separate SL somewhere else on the planet, the storm was over the Jedi Base, making navigation to the planet's surface incredibly difficult. Even the Blackguard forces had issues making it to the surface. I would appreciate it if you are going to be involved in this SL to acknowledge what is happening. Nothing irritates me more than completely ignoring details to an ongoing SL. That is more of a personal issue than anything else, but I figured I'd let it be known.
Anyways, that is all I can think of right now, I'm sure that if I remember anymore issues I have, I'll add them here.
Ideally, this was meant to be fun. It was meant to get the Blackguard out there, flexing their strength, as well as giving the Jedi a moment's pause at how strong the Sith/Dark Side actually was. In my opinion, with everyone jumping in like they did, I personally feel it turned this RP into a clusterfuck of people trying to show off how 'strong' their characters are, which was never the point of this. I can't speak for everyone else involved, but I write story-driven content. I have no interest in chest-thumping about my character. He is what he is and I have written him to the point where he is now. It's not about how strong your character is, what they know or what they do. To me, it comes down to writing. If you can legitimately write me into a corner, kudos to you. Plain and simple.
Again, let me be very clear and reiterate: This is not intended to dissuade people from writing with us, nor is it intended to be derogatory towards anyone. I simply felt the need to air all of my issues here for those involved to read. I fully intend to continue forward with the RP and see it through. And again, please feel free to leave your thoughts or your input, voice similar concerns or add your own. I want to work through them as a group so we can continue having fun.

There's one issue I have to admit myself, and the issue is entirely my fault to begin with. I understand, empathize, and agree with your frustrations regarding how some things are being handled (I didn't even realize someone attempted to dispel the storm), that all makes sense. But admittedly, when I suggested this raid to you, I was hoping for it all to be spontaneous. Just a bit of "come knocking and we'll respond appropriately," while giving some OOC time for people who were interested to jump in. Once there was a roster, and "arranged" duels with locations, I got a bit nervous about it all, but thought "maybe it's okay, this shouldn't cause trouble."
I didn't say anything about that sooner, and I'm sorry. I expected a crazy scenario where people reacted according to whatever events played out, and any encounters, duels, etc. would evolve naturally from there. A bit of "pre-planning" in the sense of two people wanting to have a duel, or a character having a specific goal like the archives? Totally fine. Once we had "arrangements" was where I should've said something.
I'm still on board to work through this RP and finish it in whatever way possible. I have too much investment in what should be a game-shaking encounter to let it go. And again, I even agree that there are some elements that need to be toned down; I just haven't really had time to read all the posts that don't directly involve me in order to have a better judgment on what those are. Any future RPs, I'm going to be sure to fully lay out my expectations ahead of time, but for this current one, I'm fully wiling to make whatever compromises needed in order to ensure it further proceeds more smoothly.

So I don't like using a lot of words and some of them I've already discussed with you privately so with that being said my biggest and most relevant comment is that the Jedi reaction to the Giant Darkside Force Storm of Doom, makes total sense. You had a super powerful sith use a powerful dark site item to do something large scale right by the Jedi Order Headquarters, we aren't exactly going to confuse that with something natural, and we are definitely going to feel that.... That being said I'm now going to go back to the Dorm rooms where I've been waiting patiently like a good little Jedi Boy to defend all the small kiddos.

Well, I’m pretty sure I didn’t ignore it, but I’m also pretty sure I misunderstood where the storm was actually located... Something I’ll be looking to address in my next reply.
Also, if the storm is only in atmosphere... did someone micro hyperspace jump inside a gravity well? >.>

Any future RPs, I'm going to be sure to fully lay out my expectations ahead of time, but for this current one, I'm fully wiling to make whatever compromises needed in order to ensure it further proceeds more smoothly. The 'pre-planning' was all me. So I will apologize for that. I wanted to keep things organized enough to stop them from turning into what we have now. And the planning was really only to set up duels between characters at a specified location to avoid cluttering one thread up. Objectives were more or less to give us an IC reason to be there. Intel, secrets, artifacts, that sort of thing. Aside from a little organization and a little planning in terms of where everyone was going to be when they decided to duel each other, it was only meant to keep us from stepping on each others' toes. With all those threads you have at the Jedi Base, I figured why not spread it out a bit. By no means am I wanting people to drop out or feel like they need to leave.
But, the one thing I will point out is this: I am all for a spontaneous RP scenario. But spontaneous and a free for all? That hardly ever works out well. At least as I have observed. Someone, somewhere, ends up getting pissed off about it. And I mean, I'm only one person, writing three characters on the Blackguard side, I might add. A spontaneous free for all is the last thing I want because no one is ever on the same page and it devolves to a giant 'fustercluck', for a lack of a better word. Spontaneous in terms of the flow of the story, sure. Spontaneous in terms of who joins up, when, where, how? I'm gonna have to go with a hard no on that one. Had there been more interest on the Blackguard side of things so that I wouldn't be writing three separate characters to fill the gaps, I'd be game for it, but that is not the case. Spontaneous RP's are all well and good when the interest is more evenly distributed among the sides involved. As it sits, while I can't speak for the rest of the Blackguard members, I personally felt way overwhelmed at the amount of resistance we were encountering. It's entirely the reason why I just up and disappeared for nearly a month without saying anything. There was a reason to why I did a little organizing and pre-planning, and it was to avoid this from happening. Things get carried away in these situations. As I have stated. Sure, we could have done the whole storm approach much better, but damn, things escalated from manageable to overwhelming in like no seconds flat. And that was what I wanted to avoid from happening. Make sense? Makes sense.
Sorry for ranting a bit again. I've just let this sit and stew for longer than I should have. But I am trying to be positive about the whole thing. I want it to succeed, and I am willing to push past this rough start in order to keep it going.

Thanks for the compliment. I do try to keep things rolling as nicely as I can. However, in defense of the NPCs fighting on par with Lux, it was actually discussed to be so. While the fight did drag on a couple posts more than I was expecting it to, I had made the call to face the three Brutes on the idea they were very capable warriors and able to face Luxeria well enough. I saw Brutes as some of the strongesr an order had with protecting a temple, and their years of experience, training, and working together would make for a serious challenge, one that, IC, both Viox and Malvus would possibly acknowledge in her growing skills and powers. And with looking at elevating her rank to Sith Warrior coming after this, I wanted a story, rped, situation that solidified the choice.
I also agreed and went with that due to knowing what fight awaited me in facing Maggy. Sponteneous can be fun, true, but with an idea of who's involved and who's facing what, I can go in accepting additional fights with some idea of how they'll affect my character. Spontaneous fights make me edgier about accepting so freely. The sudden addition of extra Jedi does irritate me as well. I'm in no means against people getting involved in stories, but we were set upvand balanced for solid fights so no one was left out, now more defenders appear and are either left just dealing with NPC threats or the invaders have to go a further distance to accomidate the new additions so people don't get left out. That's just my thoughts, though. I just don't like more being suddenly expected of some people or others having to be kind of there since they can'tbfully get in the action.

Eruestan Duskhand, once Darth Malvus makes a post and he and Luxeria enter, unless you have a different plan, you and Maggy can run off after making some attempt to lure the duo to follow you and keep them away from Viox’s and Aer’s fight. I’d say take us wherever you feel grants you a greater advantage, or at the very least, keeps the Sith from gaining any advantage against them.

Viox Savage I understood and read the force storm post before I set said NPC's against it. I did set a rather large proportion of combined NPC's if you read, the total was into the teens and I wrote it over several posts. I was unaware of this "heart" you speak of, but it was never my intention to spoil the rp in anyway shape or form. Furthermore I wrote to my best ability in continuing roleplay and doing so away from the main entrance unlike the majority and believe I played the NPC's to within their power levels from my current understanding. If you read my posts I quite clearly stated how massive the storm was, how it obscured and clouded the Jedi's perception, how they couldn't sense the dark siders because they were overwhelmed by the massive manifestation of the dark side incarnate that was the storm. So in my defense I tried to keep it fair and in keeping with how powerful It was. I'm not sure on what level you would have liked the storm to be dispelled because it cost 18 NPC's to do it. Perhaps you didn't want it dispelled at all, I don't know. I was as I say trying to write fairly and realistically and did run the duel and the idea past Luxeria and apologise if my writing has offended you or in your opinion seems to have power gamed. I was only attempting to add to the story to the best of my ability and as far as I am aware I am the only Jedi who hasn't run to the front door and at least tried to come up with a workable coherent solution to a problem and didn't outright ignore the storm or its capabilities like most have. In the future I will contact said writer of any further dark side manifestations and creations to see how best to tackle them it wasn't my intention to undo, powergame or upset anyone. If I may ask, what is it the Sith are after. I ask because my character is currently in the archives trying to figure it out. I don't necessarily want him to figure it out, but knowing will help flesh out my further posts of him as he searched the archives in vain.

If your character is in the archives then he won’t have much longer to figure anything out cause that’s where my character is heading and will be there probably within my next post or two. You were not who I was origionally set to write with but if you’re already there I welcome the challenge and chance to write with you!
I don’t know about them but Vasari is after a few things most of which she’ll need the info in the archives for... so I’m sure that will come up as the story goes on.
