The Final Trial Three years have passed since the Sith of the Blackguard Reborn made their attack against the main Jedi base on Felucia and Luxeria's ascension from a Sith apprentice to a full fledged Sith warrior. Proud to have been acknowledged for her skills and accomplishments, something within her never felt satisfied with the promotion. A longing continued to burn within her, a desire to keep pursuing new knowledge and new abilities to better achieve her ultimate goal of being seen as a goddess. Learning all she could from those willing to teach and train her further, her power grew, and with it, the fog that hid her longing since her ascension began to part, finally giving her understanding. From the teachings of her first master, Darth Andor, she had been tasked with killing her master to claim the rank she now held. Though changed by the guidance of Malvus, it became clear that in order to feel the proper achievement, she had to face her master and defeat him.
With the passing years, she found herself reaching a point in which she felt ready to confront her master. For months, she focused herself and her training, making sure she was as ready as she could be, never knowing when the moment would finally arrive. In the third year after the raid, Malvus called out to his old apprentice, summoning her for a mission to the old Sith world of Begeren. While unknown for certain as to his intentions for this world, Luxeria guessed either the revelation of old Sith artifacts and treasures or the calling of the Dark-Side was taking them there. With none but Malvus and herself setting out upon this mission, the Sith Lady knew this to be the moment to challenge him. No guards or allies and an ancient Sith world, no better stage could have been asked for for her final trial.

~The Voidwalker: Hyperspace~ As the Voidwalker made its way through hyperspace, Luxeria spent the majority of the trip within her designated chambers. She was en route to a new world with her old master and she wanted her mind to be focused. While most of the time was spent in meditation, she knew them to be closing in on their destination, meaning she had to finish making her final preparations. Before her sat a small vat, enough to set a couple knives in. Reaching into her bag, she removed a small box containing differing poisons she had gathered throughout the years. From within, she took a vile of a pale yellow liquid and poured it into the vat. Giving it a moment, she then took ten senbon needles and set them inside to soak and become coated in the poison.
Senflax was her choice, a toxin meant to paralyze the body, yet keep all vital organs intact an functioning while numbing the senses. As useful as those effects were, it was the final bit that made it a must in her arsenal. It disrupted one's concentration, effectively able to keep Force-users from utilizing their greatest weapon. When looking for an edge in battle, she knew it was a must. But her intentions for it this time around wasn't for whatever they might encounter on the planet, but for her own master. Upon the old Sith world of Begeren, she would finally face down her master in full combat. There would be no restrictions, no rules to hold her back. This would be an all out fight to the end. She had worked hard to obtain the power she had, spent the the past few months honing those skills for this very encounter. It would be all or nothing, all her knowledge and power against his.
Several minutes passed before she reached into the vat with a pair of tweezers, making sure to not touch a single one. She didn't need to be hit with her own weapon just before they reached Begeren, nor did she want it to be worn off before their use. Carefully, she let each hang for a few moments before placing them into her pouches. Custom made to house five senbon each in a shaped and sealed compartment with her Pearls of the Goddess. Once all had been put away, she drained the poison back into its vile, then hid them away under her bed. She doubted Malvus finding them before departure, but it never hurt to be cautious.
With the needles in place and three orbs nestled away in each pouch, she returned to her meditations, waiting for her old master's call.

The Force was a strange mistress and the Dark Side was the ultimate temptation... visions and the call of the Force beckoned Darth Malvus to the far reaches of the Outer Rim, to the collection of systems known as the Sith Worlds. Even as the vessel entered this region of space, the Sith could feel the ancient energy within the very stars they passed. The region of space, inhabited by a hundred and twenty worlds, and perhaps more, was the heartland of the Sith Empire, the ancient Empire that was founded by the very first of their kind. Here, Malvus felt the darkness that existed so strong within these worlds, the Dark Side practically thrived here.
From Korriban, running along the trade route, Kamat Krote, the vessel passed northward through the Bosthirda system into the vicinity of Dromund Kaas and ending its journey outside the orbit of Jaguada. It turned to the galactic west from there, jumping to Ashas Ree then to Kalsunor and ending at Begeren. His gaze looks down at the world, wondering what it had been like during the Golden Age of the Sith. The Sith rises from the pilot seat, keying the auto-pilot into gear. He reaches out in the Force, alerting his apprentice, now the Sith Warrior, Darth Luxeria, that they were at their destination.
Quietly, the Jen'ari went into another room, adjacent to the piloting area, examining the most recent holoimages of the surface. Begeren had some treasures leftover from the days of the Sith. It was planet untouched by many since the Galactic Civil War, and more recently the One Sith era, when the planet was under the jurisdiction of many Imperial splinter groups, the foremost of them being Zsinj Empire and Sith Empire under Darth Krayt. He wondered if the One Sith even visited this world. Perhaps a cult of them existed here, festering since the fall of Krayt.
He reaches up, feeling the crystal in his chest flare slightly. Malvus could feel the awakening of the Dark Side on the planet... it was sensing their approach.

As Malvus's words resonated within her mind, she opened her eyes, slowly, knowing that the moment was nearly here and her window for turning back was quickly closing. Was she truly ready to face her old master in combat? Was she power were it needed to be in order to prove herself worthy as a Sith master? These few questions had come up as they had for months now. Each time, she hesitated slightly in her choice, wondering if she needed to wait until later to challenge him. But as before, she pushed the thoughts aside and quelled the storm of questions in her mind. The only difference from now and then was the fact that with each question, each hesitation, she could keep training further and push herself harder to prepare. However, there were no more chances as the encounter was fast approaching.
Always questions of caution, yet it did little to phase her or deter her in the long run. In fact, the sensation of uncertainty only lasted a couple seconds before being reaffirmed within her mind. She was ready. She knew it. While not being a complete master of most of her abilities, she was more than capable enough in using them against even the strongest of opponents. The only thing that would have ensured equal ground was learning every art and ability he did, but she had learned quickly that some of those skills did not appeal or fit her. She was her own person with her own desires, and as such, needed to face him as herself and nothing more.
Taking in a deep breath, she stood to her feet as she walked over to the bed. Grabbing a hair band, she put her hair up in a pony tail. As she finished, another thought crossed her mind. She had read up a bit on the planet they were heading towards and come to understand its terrain. reaching into her bag, she pulled out two smoke bombs and put them into her pouches, one in each. She typically used Alter Environment to create mist for hindering the sight of others, but kept smoke bombs just in case the area made it hard to create, as it would be with this world. With all else ready, her bangles on each arm in place, she equipped her trio of lightsabers. Her standard hilt, Kyana Rendi, strapped to the back side of her belt as her twin curved hilt lightsabers, Devora Sinas, were placed on each side of her belt. Going over her person a final time to ensure she left nothing behind, she left her chambers and went to met up with her master.
She moved through the ship to room Malvus instructed of her. He was already there, looking over the holoimages of the world. She stepped up beside him, letting her eyes shift across them, taking in the details from each. "So what do you think we'll find upon this world, my Lord." It had taken a little time for Luxeria to get used to not calling him master anymore. Still, she did ensure to keep referring to him with a level of respect due to one with such power as well as the title he held: second in command of the Blackguard, the Jen'ari. Some would think her task suicide while others viewed it as daunting. A man not to be trifled with, but this did nothing to deter her. She had been his apprentice and would show the fruits of his own labor in training her through this battle.

There is a Sith philosopher and alchemist buried on this planet, Luxeria
The Sith Lord responds as he continues to view the known layouts of the planet's surface.
He professed a Rule of Unity, similar to the philosophy of the Blackguard. He gained quite a following, during the days of the Old Sith Empire, which resulted in his murder. Nonetheless, he was buried in splendor and a statue commissioned in his visage. Not to mention his scientific abilities.
Begeren was similar to Korriban in terms of many tombs and statues of notable Sith from the days of the Old Sith Empire and the succeeding resurgent Sith Empire of the Great Galactic War. There were a number of Sith, whose legacies and treasures had remained untouched for centuries. They were practically begging to be examined and removed for better usage. The Blackguard had very much completed its task of killing off the pretender Sith and Dark Siders in this galaxy, now it was to collect the trinkets and treasures still left in this galaxy and left behind by many names within the Sith history. This philosopher was one such name, founded by an examination of an old Sith text on Mustafar. Once it was learned, Malvus called his former apprentice to his side and went to the outer reaches of the Outer Rim.
We should be landing a few minutes. The weather seems pleasant, but there appears to be a storm forming to the North... I would not want us being stuck on the planet because of it. Beregen's storms can be pretty touch. It makes sense why the Sith here were known for their hardy nature.

Luxeria crossed her arms over her chest as Malvus spoke. It was now that the reason for her summoning was revealed. It further explained why none accompanied them. A barren and, undoubtedly, vacant world that once was a piece of the Sith Empire long ago. Was it coincidental with her goals? Perhaps. She still had stirring on the reality of whether the Force had a will and connected things together as many believed. Sometimes, it clearly seemed as merely that: a coincidence. Other times, too much random things where intertwined into a single situation to be seen as anything less than the will of the Force. Still, whether it was or not was neither here nor there. The only question that flickered within the back of her mind was whether to attack him before they found the burial site or after. In that, she'd trust her instincts and do what felt right to her.
Continuing to listen and examine the images before her, she nodded. "I see. If that was the philosophy he believed, any knowledge or artifacts left behind will undoubtedly increase the power and effectiveness of the Blackguard. Not to mention the scientific knowledge will only increase your power, along side the other Alchemist and scientists within the order."
Her eyes then focused and head dropped at the mention of the storm. "How long do you think we'll have once we land?" If it would be as tough as Mavlus's suggested, it could certain put a hindrance on her plans. Then again, it could prove advantageous if played out right. Having a estimated time would, at least, tell her if she had the time to possibly end the fight or be stuck within it.

Soon enough, Luxeria. Soon enough.
That was all that Malvus said as he turns off the holoprojector and proceeds to the cockpit to examine the trajectory of their landing. The Force had given him a nudge with her words... Malvus had long felt something from Luxeria. The Sith could not tell what it was, but there was another reason why he came to this planet. Begeren had called to him in a dream, induced by the Force, something important was to happen here. Yet the Dark Side revealed nothing. Unknown to the plain vision of the Sith, Luxeria was planning her duel with her master. A final rite to prove her worthiness and status within the Blackguard.
It was long overdue and it would be done here, beneath the stone gaze of the Sith statues that lingered on this world. An ultimate duel between master and apprentice. Malvus adjusted their trajectory slightly, feeling the Force call to him once more. The ship turned slightly and moved towards the location of a plaza, situated before an old, yet grand, Sith pyramid, built by an ancient and unnamed Sith Lord. Its appearance before the viewport was unbelievable. A testament to the power of the Sith Empire before.
Soon enough, the ship was felt landing and destiny would erupt between Malvus and Luxeria.

There was a slight squint in Luxeria's eyes at the response given from Malvus. It didn't match the question she asked about how much time they had once they landed before the storm hit them. Did he suspect anything? The likeliness was little to none as she was confident she had taken the proper steps to keep him from catching on, both in her physical stance as well as mental. Still, she couldn't rule out that he had some skill that bypassed her defenses or had some contact that somehow figured it out prior.
For now, though, she pushed it from her mind. The battle would happen one way or another. Taking a last glance at the images, she turned and followed her master from the room and to the cockpit. Through the air they flew until she saw a pyramid in the distance. She guessed that the Force was guiding her master here. As such, it was highly likely this was where the mention Sith's remains and possessions rested. Hopefully, when all was said and done, many things would be gained for the both of them.
As they made their final approach and began the landing cycle, she wondered if there was a large chamber within the pyramid that would best suit their duel. Then again, should she even waste time and begin the fight before they even entered? No doubt it would move its way inside, especially if the storm fell upon them. She would just need to trust herself and the Force to determine the right time.

Malvus walked down into the immense Sith pyramid, feeling the Dark Side of the Force permeate around them. A thick mist, in one could say, of dark energy that shifted here and there without any direction. Yet the energy seemed to be attracted to the two of them, like magnets in a sea of metal particles. Malvus could even feel the presence of old spirits, but they dared not interfere with the Sith who walked among them. Malvus kept to his business and so did the spirits keep their own as well, but the Sith could feel a watchful eye every now and then from beyond the shadows. Occasionally, the sound of a creature was heard, scuttling about as well as the roar of something far more fearsome far below their present position.
He came across several tombs and examined their inscriptions, as he understood Old Sith better than anyone else within the Blackguard Reborn. Lord Tranius, Lord Veticus, Lord Breger, Lord Raticus, Lord Quxorin... name after name passed his eyes as he shifted about. Finally, the Sith stopped as he looked down a corridor. He moved towards three separate tombs resting within an isolated room. His gloved hand brushing the dust away on the first tomb and examined it quietly.
Lord Zendix...
This was it, thought the Sith as he moved behind the tomb and proceeded to look through the artifacts left behind to find what he searched. However, as the Sith did so, his mind began to wonder and sense something was off in the Force. Something that had long been bugging him this whole trip here. The Dark Side was trying to say something, but what it was... who knew.

Luxeria followed Malvus down the ramp and entered the pyramid. Immediately, she saw the faint haze that lingered, the presence of darkness resonating strongly within. Sensing the darkness drawing towards them, she knew that they'd have quite a base of power to draw on, meaning this fight was going to be intense overall. For now, she remained quiet, watching as her former master examined the tombs they passed. While under his tutelage, she had come to understand some of the Old Sith, among a few other languages, yet not enough to decipher the names on the tombs. It didn't fall into her particular interests.
Once she heard the Sith finally speak, she knew they had reached their destination and found the one that had been spoken of. It was further confirmed as they moved beyond the tomb's entrance, revealing the artifacts that lay within. Quite a find, no doubt, along with whatever else existed within the others. Perhaps when all was said and down, she'd go through them all and gather up what she could. She was certain the Sith'ari would enjoy the trinkets scattered throughout the pyramid.
That was, however, the least of her concerns. She had but one goal, one mission and the Force was starting to converge. The time had come for her to make her move. But how to go about it? A sudden attack? Draw in his attention to her plans so to have a straight forward duel? So many options. Standing behind Malvus, she let her gaze settle upon him for a few moments before her eyes scanned the area around her. Noticing a few pieces of rubble scattered about, her right hand began to close up into a fist with only her pointer and middle finger remaining extended. Quickly, she focused upon a single rock with the Force and pointed with her fingers, aiming the rock to quickly fly towards the Sith's left shoulder.
She fully intended for a direct confrontation, no stabbing him in the back. She would prove her superiority to him. Still, she expected questions, a possible lecture, and a statement of failure for wasting her chance. Amusing thoughts in every regard.

It was at that moment that Malvus felt a shift in the Force. The crystal, within his chest cavity, becoming alert to a sudden change around him. Then, he sensed something subtle, almost undetectable if there had been more distractions around the two of them. Luxeria was preparing for something, and she was ever so slightly exerting the Force on something or towards something. His own senses did not detect anything around them besides the pair of them. There could only be one other reason for such an alert to go off, such an immediate sense of danger present before him... Luxeria was finally making the long and inevitable move against him.
Suddenly, the Sith turned around, his hand extending and blasting the would-be projectile out of her hands, causing it to soar across the room. Some thuds heard afterward, piercing the silence left between Sith Master and former Apprentice. Malvus gazes directly at Luxeria focused upon his former pupil with a quiet vigilance. Slowly, the Sith rises, his gaze never looking away from the female for even the slightest second.
Took you longer than I expected, Luxeria... but it seems you finally have the confidence.
Malvus spoke as his eyes looked upon the female.
And yet... you are my most successful apprentice. I have long desired for the day that you will fight me and either prove your worth as a Sith or be forced into submission. Someday, Luxeria, you will be where I am, gazing at your own apprentice. Only then, will you understand the pride I feel right now.
Malvus whips off his cloak suddenly, revealing his dual lightsabers were already in hand. They ignited seconds later, two bars of menacing crimson plasma. Their hums and hisses filling the room as they were activated. Calling upon the Dark Side, the Sith lunges forward at Luxeria.
SHOW ME YOUR PROWESS! SHOW ME YOUR SKILL! PROVE YOURSELF WORTHY OF YOUR DARTH NAME, LUXERIA!!

Luxeria stood, hand stretched out with fingers pointing in his direction when he finally turned and blew apart the rock she threw at him. Her eyes focused upon his as they met, none moving for a few moments. When he finally rose to his feet, she let her arm drop. She had thought of something to say: some witty comeback, a passing remark, or even a serious thought. But none left her lips as he spoke. There was no real point in them, at least, not yet.
But her thoughts were proven true. He was always ready to be attacked, even if only in her presence. Not only that, he had been waiting for her to attack him ever since she had left his apprenticeship. The thought divided her feelings fifty-fifty. She was partially expecting that as it had been part of the Sith practice for a long time. Even after the Banenite Sith had fallen and new orders rose that followed different rules of succession, the idea of killing the master still resonated among all Sith. But from is teachings about these Sith and their ways to his own beliefs and philosophies turned her feelings to surprise on the matter. Still, the feeling, if felt by her former master, quickly passed through her mind as quickly as it entered. It didn't matter one way or the other in the end. She would fight him and wanted him to come at her with everything. If he was all the more prepared, then it would only further prove her superiority.
She took a deep breath as his next lines came, working to harden her focus from his words. She couldn't let any form of praise resonate in her mind. He thought like Darth Bane did, knowing the value in this fight, but she couldn't let herself see him as anything more than a final obstacle in her path, an enemy that had to be erased. If she were to defeat him, she had to removed all doubt, all hesitation, and fight for her life. As she cleared her mind, it began to shift, the focus that held back her intentions pushed aside. Only one thing existed now: the fight, nothing more, nothing less.
She let her body turn as he threw off his cloak, his sabers in hand. The last declaration came before he lunged at her, wanting to see the fullness of her power. And that was what she planned to give him. She remained still as he came, not moving to ignite her own saber, much less take hold of it. She wanted him to see her skills, the knowledge gained from others since departing his tutelage: Gavin, Vasari, the other master of the Blackguard. All had taught her new things, things she wouldn't have known otherwise. She was already beyond what she hoped to achieve, but she wasn't about to stop there.
First up was the combat lessons gained from Gavin. And the first, as was with his lessons, was showing just how effectively she could evade and block his attacks, even when he was armed and she was not.

Malvus swung left and right, noticing as Luxeria dodged and parry with ease. This was to be expected considering the experience she had under her belt from fighting heretics of the Dark Side, Jedi, and other battlefields across the galaxy. The female would be certainly skilled with her lightsaber, having fought a number of greater and lesser opponents, yet still managing to come on top. The Sith struck downward, slamming his lightsaber against the female. Their blades sizzled for a moment before, with brute force, the Sith Lord began to drive her backward, forcing her to give up ground. His free saber swung overhead, but she still ducked well and parried a secondary blow from his other lightsaber. She was anticipating moves well and executing everything accordingly. The Sith Lord knew she had seen how he fought and that gave her an advantage.
Malvus then decided to increase the ferocity and speed of his strikes. In a flurry of maneuvers, his twin lightsabers bashed and slashed at her defensive posture, utilizing brute force and raw energy to hammer at her parries and try to force an opening. The speed of his attacks did not let up, forcing her to turn left and right, while also going up and down. The whole time, Malvus forcing her back, step by step. Then his eyes spotted the right moment as a parry was perfectly countered, forcing her sword arm to go wide.
The Jen'ari quickly gathered force energy and blasted it square into her torso, making his former apprentice fly through the doorway of the tomb and out into the larger hallways. Malvus knew this was a much better battlefield, with more room to move about. With her center off balanced, the Sith kept up to ensure she did not regain it. Debris flew at her, peppering her leg, then her arm, before a large piece of stone was hurled. Here, he noticed that she managed to stop it, but only barely. Calling upon the Dark Side, Malvus applied pressure to the debris until it began to crack and exploded between the two of them. The Sith Lord remained standing though, gazing at where his apprentice formerly stood.
Impressive... most impressive. I daresay that the battlefields I brought you to have very well paid off.
His lightsabers were disengaged as the Sith Lord began to back away.
Now let's see how you manage otherwise.
The Sith then dissipated into the shadows of the tomb. It was time to test her on her skills as a huntress and to sound out a hidden prey.

Not once did Luxeria move as Malvus approached her, not even a flinch. It wasn't until the last moment when she finally took action. Her left hand slipped behind her back before arching out towards the first lightsaber. Her single lightsaber followed the path by use of Telekinesis, activating as it came around in front to impact the first saber of Malvus. As it made impact, her right hand came around, gripping the hilt as she brought it over to deflect the second. She had opted to go without a lightsaber for a moment, to show just how capable she was at evading his attacks without using one of her own but changed her mind at the last second. It would be more fulfilling to fight for a while, and when it seemed she was tired, then show she was still capable of just evading his attacks without having to fight back. Despite using two sabers, despite his relentlessness, she'd stay clear of his onslaught.
Utilizing only a single hand, she fought back, embracing the skills and abilities of the Makashi form that she had honed and perfected over the years. In the end, his strength was the weakness of her current form, not to mention her slender frame, but this was a fact she understood well. She didn't fight to keep ground, not against such opponents as it would only wear her out before the battle could truly begin. Therefore, as long as she knew her position on the battle field, giving ground wasn't a problem. And she showed it as much when she'd duck and change her direction, always making sure she wasn't being backed into a wall or any place that would grant him and advantage. From here, it was about patience, seeking that proper opening to make an attack against his most vital areas. Another lesson from Gavin: learn to do the most damage in the least amount of hits.
However, it was easier said than done against opponents the caliber of her old master. He was skilled, knowledgeable, and much more experienced than herself. While it may or may not have granted him an advantage in the long run, it did make him tougher to deal with. And it came to be shown soon enough. Despite her skills and her precision timing, Malvus knew enough to properly execute his counter against her own. And it came in the form of a blast of energy at her. It was nearly point black and in a point in which her defense had been opened enough to land the blow. It sent her flying into wall back in the hallway. But this little to deter her. The years of combat, of enduring pain in order to prevail, she was able to use that that keep her focused, even upon impact. Her gaze immediately lifted to the see debris flying at her. With a flick of her wrist, the lightsaber in her right hand was released from its grip and spun in a disc to create a barrier in front of her. It burned and cut through much of the debris, though some impacted her. It caused her to tense and looked down just slightly as she gripped her saber. The look away was enough to delay her as once she looked again, she saw a larger piece of rock flying at her. Her right hand flew out to stop it, but using a single hand against such force and the last minute timing, she had barely got it to stop.
Sensing the pressure increase, she deactivated her saber and replaced it before lifting her second hand to push back. In a game of Telekinesis, she wasn't concerned about losing. It was, after all, still her strongest ability. Still, neither gave ground as the force applied increased further until, eventually, the rock gave. The shards of earth pelted the area in all directions, forcing Luxeria to move away, duck down, and cover her eyes. While minimal, she even brought up a faint shield of energy to protect herself. She couldn't afford to be put out of commission by a few pieces of rock at the beginning of the fight.
As the final pieces fell, she heard her old master's words. She couldn't help but smirk. ~More than you know.~ She thought to herself. She had learned much from him and the missions he sent her on, the fights he put her in. It had only worked to strengthen her. But she had to curse herself a bit. She did know how he fought for the most part and could counter most, though she wasn't fool enough to believe there weren't other tricks up his sleeves. But what he got her with was one of the first things he ever taught her. Attacking with the Force with the free hand while deflecting one's saber. But, at the same time, it was to be expected. She wouldn't be skilled enough to completely overpower him, of that she knew. When his next challenge was passed to her, she looked up to see him gone. She could still feel his presence, but it didn't provide a distinct location. She didn't know if he was merely hiding or using an ability in the Force, but she wouldn't be beaten by this trick.
Slowly standing to her feet, she took a deep breath. "You can't hide." For the moment, her eyes were useless. But there were ways around that. From Malvus, to Gavin, to her experiences, her senses had grown well to become a strong huntress and assassin. But she had another ability in her arsenal, one she'd have to thank Gavin for in insisting she learned to a greater level. Closing her eyes, she focused out with the Force, utilizing Force Sight to see what her eyes couldn't show her. She knew it wouldn't immediately reveal him to her, but it would further aid her in finding him. With it in place, she began walking, her defenses up as she went.
"It is quite fitting, wouldn't you say? Your final fight, your final resting place will be here in the tomb of Sith long past. A Sith master couldn't have asked for more."

Malvus grins at the words of his former apprentice from the shadows of the grand auditorium that they were presently fighting within.
If I knew those words to be true, Luxeria, I would have ended your life long ago.
Malvus waves his hands slightly within the darkness, the air shifting for a moment before the tension that had been felt vanished seconds later. From the darkness and shadows within the large room, a purple mist began to emit all directions. It was a dark miasma, conjured by the force powers of Malvus. It was not poisonous, but it did have another intended effect. The Dark Miasma was similar to a hallucination invoker as shapes would take form and become almost alive in a sense. The Sith Lord sought to test Luxeria in a different way and that was her beliefs, her goals, and her desires. If she was to thrive within the Blackguard's future, she needed to be tested.
The sound of feet was heard behind Luxeria, a familiar voice heard moments later.
You betrayed the true sect of the Dark Side.
The voice would be all too familiar to Luxeria, it was the voice of her first master, Darth Andor, a Sith Lord of the defunct Order of Ruin. Though his voice was present, his person was hidden beneath a cloak that hid his face. Malvus watches quietly from the shadows to see how this exchange went.
You threw your lot behind those who would make us weak!
The Not!Andor spoke angrily, his lightsaber was deactivated but within his hand.
You left your true home for what... power and glory? I could have made you into a true Sith! You would have ruled over stars and systems with an iron fist and no Sith would ever challenge you! You turned your back on one master and showed the galaxy how easily your loyalties are swayed.
The sound of his lightsaber ignites, a menacing crimson color.
I should correct my mistake here and now...

Luxeria gave a smirk, hearing her master's words echo from the shadows. She expected little from the words. He was a much hardened Sith who wasn't so easily swayed by words, especially words so generic as those. Nothing but toying around with each other in the end. But it did work to grant her a little time in finding him, or so she thought.
It wasn't but a few moments later that she could see the flow of the Force from the mist as it gathered, causing her to open her eyes and cease her search for Malvus. She recognized it as it was used on her the very first time she came to Eriadu and asked to become his apprentice. One would think that she was beyond such tricks and illusions, but there would always be those few things that could work to ensnare even the strong willed provided the right approach was chosen.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of familiar voice from behind her. Her head dropped quickly to the side as if trying to focus on the tone in order to verify that truth. Sure enough, it was the voice of her first master, Darth Andor. An odd choice that this would be what she currently faced. Still, she was curious as to how this scenario would play out, wondered if this illusion would truly allow her a chance to face down her previous master.
She listened intently, hearing the dark intent within his voice, the certain threat against her, the arrogant claims against her. Yes, it was how she remembered the man and how she envisioned an actual encounter playing out. She let herself slip into the illusion, allowing it to become reality for her, just for the chance to stand against him once more as she expected a real encounter to never happen.
Once he was finished speaking and the saber igniting, she couldn't help but let out a dark laugh. "Really? You? If you feel a mistake should be corrected, then by all means.."She turned to face the illusion completely, her eyes now a burning orange."..take your own life. After all, the only true mistake you made was thinking yourself a true Sith and a true master." She then began to pace back and forth, eyes never leaving him and smirked never faltering from her features. "My truest loyalty has only ever been to myself. After all, isn't that what a Sith is truly about? Increasing their hold on the Force and others, to become stronger and stronger until eventually I surpass you and take your life, securing my place as a master among the Sith? That is a tue Sith in your eyes, is it not? I did what should have been expected. Your training faded day by day as you put all your concerns into your Order of Ruin. Bit by bit, I was left to my own devices in trying to gain power. No understanding of where to access it, no one to truly aid me in my training. And in all of it, you kept Lura close to your side as possible." Her head lowered as she pushed on with her words. "You think I wouldn't notice? From the moment you brought her to Kuat, you took it easier on her than me. For what? The drive to push me harder, to make me stronger? It might have worked if you actually worked to improve her skills, yet you looked at her as more of a daughter, didn't you?" She let out another laugh. "And you really thought you could have turned me into a true Sith? You thought of your little order as a true sect of the Dark-Side? Tell me, what became of that sect? Oh, yes, I remember. The Order of Ruin fell to ruin."
The smile then faded as the humor left her voice, becoming focused and hard. "If I would have stayed with you, I would have fallen to the wolves over and over again, been swept away with the weak fledgling Sith that the Blackguard has worked to erase. No, I knew what my path would be by staying and I wouldn't have any of it. So I sought out a new master, one who took the steps to ensure I could grow and become what I am and showed me just how much more I was capable of being. And now I stand within an order that will see me ruling over these stars and systems that you promised with such empty words." She let her right hand pass across the back side of her waist, unclipping her lightsaber with the Force as it spun in her hand before she finally gripped it and ignited the purple blade. "Loyalty is earned through action. You lost mine when there was nothing left but talk. Now come, see what the Blackguard has made of me. Witness the power of the Goddess of Illumination."
She then stepped back on her right foot, her saber now behind her as she turned her body sideways, left arm up slightly, signifying she was ready for a fight, yet low enough to say she didn't see him as a serious threat. A touch of Dun Moch through stance instead of words, one could say.

The shadow that was Darth Andor was easily subdued within a few swipes of her lightsaber, a blood-curdling screech pierced the old auditorium as the shadow was ultimately defeated. The test of her loyalty was thus performed and Malvus did not doubt her loyalties at all. After all, the Order of Ruin would have made her weak beyond measure. Here, she achieved true power and true recognition for her abilities and potential. Yet, not all was over.
Shortly after, the mist returned and began to conjure up a greater shadow. Structures were seen, sounds familiar were heard, and soon, Luxeria would find herself gazing outward at the immense ecumenopolis of Coruscant. The familiar sounds and smells had been perfectly mimicked, revealing that Malvus knew the planet well from his own experiences. A hovercar buzzes by her view, joining the familiar lanes of traffic. The sight and smells were all too real... then a voice rang out.
Aleena?
At first it was a mere whisper, the sound of a female's voice in the far distance. Then came a male's voice.
Aleena?
The pair of voices grew louder over the next couple attempts to call to her, to gain her attention. Then as clear as day, the sounds of her father and mother were heard behind Luxeria. They were reaching out to her, attempting to draw her back in. Their hand stretched outward to grab hold of her. Yet the image slowed as her master's voice rang out as clear as day.
You can easily return to your life, Luxeria. You can forget about the Sith and return to the lap of luxury... of rich living, of unprecedented wealth... why become a Sith when you can buy anything you want? Marry any man you can manipulate? Mother a bunch of brats that are as ignorant as you would become.
There was a pause in his speech.
Can you sever yourself from the past for good? Can you sever your birthright and your home for your future as a Sith? Or will you continue to let a little piece of you miss your home? It can easily return to that.

With quick movements, the illusion faded away as her lightsaber cut through its being. A rather easy fight, but she knew better. This was an illusion, not the real thing. Even with her growing strength, she doubted Andor would have fallen so easily. Just like Malvus wouldn't be so easy to bring down. But this wasn't a test of skill, but a test of the mind. That was an entirely different matter that made illusions like this weak if one was calm and sure.
As it faded away, she expected to see Mavus appear or, at least, make an attack from the shadows. But nothing came except the same mist that gave rise to Andor. Before long, the mist took shape creating something she hadn't seen in a couple years. She saw the skyline of Coruscant. What was more, it was the same view she had from her old home. Memories of the past of when she had a life there with her family. As if on cue to her thoughts, she heard the voices speak out behind her.
She knew them all too well, even though it had been some time since she heard them. Turning slowly, she saw her parents there, hands reaching out to her, asking her to come back home. She took a deep breath seeing their faces again. Then came Malvus's voice as the scene seemed to freeze. She let the words play in her mind for a moment before she let her head drop, a small smirk coming to her face. "You speak as if such things couldn't be achieved as long as I'm a Sith. I still retain that same luxury I once held, if not more than my previous life. Have you not seen my chambers or my ship? Why should I worry about wealth when it still comes to me, from both my family, my own takings, and what I gain from the Blackguard. No, my wealth has only reached greater heights. So buying anything is no less an issue than it ever has been. Marry who I can manipulate? Once again, being a Sith does not limit me, but stretches the reach of my control, increases my influence, and present far more suitors than I could have ever known. And here, find one who is actually worthy of becoming tied to me, free of manipulation. And why raise children in a world to become ignorant when they, too, can learn of the same power I have? No, becoming a Sith has granted me more than I could have ever hoped to achieve."
Then came those last words. The severing of the past, letting go of who she once was and the family she had. The smile faded as memories she kept locked inside began to slowly find freedom. "Perhaps I should let you in on a little secret." As the grip that held the memories in place began to unwind, she let her mind open just enough to let Malvus see should he attempt to get inside her mind. Enough to see the memories, but nowhere near enough to allow him control. As she allowed it to happen, her head lifted, smile gone and her voice void of emotion. "I killed my parents two years ago. That tie has long since been severed."
Even now, the memories were as clear as the day it happened. It wasn't long after her new ship had been built that her parents had called her home. In order to keep up appearances and let the story she fed them continue, she did as she was asked. However, she didn't realize it would be the last time. The time spent away and growing within the Blackguard, the investments she made in her chambers on Mustafar and her ship had caught their attention. Trying to contact her, they got in touch with Nubia Star Drives, only to find out she never worked there as she said. So many questions and suspicions had led them to call her home. When she realized this and was confronted, she knew little else could be done. She could have erased their memories of all that and started fresh with a new story. She could have erased their memories of her entirely. But that left everyone else that knew her and her family, the story that had been told. That would take too much time and draw too much attention. No, there was but a single option. She had to end their lives. What surprised her, in the end, was how little remorse she had over the decision. But when she thought about it, she knew that she had become that distant from her old life that it was barely a flicker of an image. Already she had severed the connection inside her heart. All that was left was to finish the job. As so, using her power, she played out the scene so that she wouldn't be seen as involved. A murder-suicide, leaving her a heartbroken girl with no family to the eyes of others. To her, she was completely free from that past and now had full access to her family's fortune and investments.
And for that time, she had kept the event quiet, hidden away in her mind so that none could see. All prepared for such a moment as this. With the memories in the open and her words declared, she moved forward past the illusions of her parents, letting them evaporate as she did. Taking a deep breath, she looked around. "So, what other games do you have for me? Are you ready to finally come out and face me? Or trying to attack me with these cheap illusions all it's going to be?"

The mist begins to twist and change, altering slightly as Malvus appeared before her.
You are my first successful apprentice... where you stand, others have failed. One can never be too cautious.
Behind her, the mists twisted once more, revealing another shade of the Sith Lord. It was poised to look away from her, gazing off to her right.
You have proven your determination and strength.
The mists formed yet another shade, this one sitting upon a pile of rubble.
You have proven your loyalty and resilience.
Then, a fourth shade appeared, directly to her left, looking at the female.
Now... for your final test.
The shades vanished within an instance, extinguished by the power of her former master. Slowly, the mist receded into the darkness that surrounded her. Silence fell across the room before a soft bit of rubble was heard falling to the ground. A shadow loomed over her as one of the destroyed pillars was floating above her. From the darkness, Malvus had managed to grab a couple pieces of debris. The final test would show which had enough power to overcome the other. This would be a fight to see who was truly the most powerful.
Suddenly, the hovering pillar lurched downward, aiming directly for Luxeria.
When she dodged, since Malvus suspected this, the second pillar, concealed by the darkness, would be launched forward with the Sith Lord hiding behind the end of it. Once he drew in close enough, his lightsabers would ignite and the fight would truly begin.

As the images of Mavlus began to form around her, speaking the words of success in her actions, she didn't move, only diverted the direction her eyes as each one appeared. Deep inside, she felt pride in her accomplishments and her being the only successful apprentice. It was a curious thought if he held any surprise at having already dispatched her parents or if he suspected it the whole time. No matter nwhat he thought, she had proven herself worthy thus far.
As the shades vanished, her attention was drawn above her at the sound of falling rubble and the shadow cast upon her. She squinted her eyes in fustration at the fact Malvus had been able to navigate it over her without her even noticing. As it dropped from the sky, Luxeria lept forward and rolled free of the falling pillar. Upon gaining her footing, she saw another flying at her. Gripping her lightsaber tightly, she lept up and forward, looking to move in the direction the pillar came from, not noticing that Malvus was hidden behind it, ready to strike. Fortunate that she had her lightsaber in hand and ready and her senses alert for the fight that would finally begin.
