Eralam, the Shard Shepherd, strode up the ramp, with a starstruck Kuroro following him. And even after his head collided with the doorpost, she was still trailing the god-incarnate. Although his instructions were a poorly chosen. Why Eralam? Hadn't they met before? Didn't he have any sense to know asking her not to do something, was a polite way of asking her to make a thorough investigation? She had a morbid curiosity that someone in their infinite wisdom knew worked as good as approval cravings, fixations or even obsessive tendencies. She grinned and gave him a thumbs up that she understood his disclaimer. And she was going to sneak a peek anyway.
On the pretext of visting the refresher, she went straight to the mentioned room and opened the door.

Pink. Fluffy things. Lacy and frilly things. The room is decorated like a 4 year old human female's dream. And in fact, it had been. The previous owner's daughter had often traveled with her father. She had a mean streak every bit as wide, and took great pleasure in inflicting childish torments on her daddy's captives. After watching her father get gunned down, she jumped into an escape pod, just like she had been shown. In all likelihood, it was still drifting in deep space.
Most of the cells and torture chambers had been cleaned out, but Eralam was at a loss for what to do with this one bedroom. He had no idea what it was supposed to be. A pink canopy bed sat in the corner, complete with pink blankets and comforters and pillowcases. The word "Princess" is painted in silver glitter on the headboard. The walls are lined with shelves, each one containing various stuffed animals. The critters are the only major variation in the overall color scheme. It's clear that not all of them were designed for human use.
Various dolls in various shapes and sizes fill the large dollhouse that occupies the entire back wall of the room. A pink wardrobe contains a number of frilly pink outfits. Any humanoid female child would probably kill for a room like this. This was lost on Eralam for three primary reasons. First and foremost, he's not human. Not by a long shot. Secondly, though he's technically asexual like all of his species, he tends to use masculine pronouns, as the males of most species are simply easier to comprehend. And finally, he couldn't find his childhood with an encyclopedia. The wonders of the perfect bedroom were lost on him. He simply assumed that it was another torture chamber, one far more nefarious than the rest. The stupendously expensive locks gave the idea some credit, as did the CCTV setup.

All that goodness she felt around Eralam seemed to evaporate, leaving her slightly light-headed. She staggered slightly before collapsing into the bed.
Abruptly, she stood up, restored as if after a long sleep. The death of a waiter, the run from the police - all forgotten. It was if it was a temporary lapse in her otherwise happy and carefree life. Eralam sure did think of everything. It was a itch that he managed to scratch for her and way to make her forget about all the worries, the loneliness.
The next hour of her life was busily devoted to rearranging the room and settling in. There was even some of the long, flowing capes that managed to fit her in the wardrobe. And it was her colour too! During her change, she noticed that she far too thin. Too much eating on the run, she decided. From now on, she would make sure that she took the time to eat regularly. Eralam was also pretty skinny. They could work on their diets together.
It was a plan - but first - there was a pile of stuffed animals that needed love. Kuroro lay shamelessly in the pile, simply enjoying being surrounded by fluffy happiness.

Oblivious to the strange goings on in the forbidden room, Eralam readied the ship for takeoff. The thing truly was a marvel of engineering, and it was ready to fly in only a few minutes. There was some chatter over the comms about the incident at the cafe, but so far all the buzz was about a rogue assassin droid killing a waiter and kidnapping a human girl. Apparently, there were several frantic witnesses who swore up and down that the droid had cruelly stabbed the man and snatched up the girl as a hostage before shooting the place up and running off. Eralam wasn't terribly inclined to care. If the investigation did lead back to him, it would be a simple matter to contact a few friends in high places who could make the thing go away.
ATC, this is Ferrous Warrior, requesting permission to take off.
The planetary Air Traffic Control quickly cleared the space yacht for takeoff. Within moments, the ship had cleared the atmosphere and had entered orbit. The inertial compensators were top notch. Even under full power, the interior felt like it was standing still. It would be another few hours before they were cleared to leave orbit, so the Shard routed the comms to his internal link and went back to check on his passenger.

Kuroro had gone to the gallery and prepared a meal for two. It had been meticulously done, the portions balanced out carefully, the table set. She had set the table, although she was finishing off the last dish in kitchen. For her saviour and partner, she wanted a dinner that would show how much she valued him. Love? It might be too soon for that. The last person that she had told that had run no matter how long she followed him. She didn't want that to happen again. This time - she'd do it right.
Perhaps in her wildly diverse collection of outfits she worn, a kitchen apron and oven mitts were a new one for her. She giggled to herself at that thought. It would be difficult to hold a gun with these. But it was easy enough to hide an entire cleaver inside one. Or a stiletto. Or a wrist pistol. Or...

Eralam could smell something from the galley. It smelled like it might have been food, but he couldn't quite tell until he opened the door. He stopped cold in his tracks. A set table. Meal for two. Apron. Many strange and terrible things had crossed his path before. He had faced down armies and monsters and horrors that the galaxy at large could never understand, never comprehend. He had always had a plan, always been able to adapt and overcome, no matter the challenge. But now, here in this cozy little kitchen was something that he dreaded above all else: domesticity.
He didn't do meals. He didn't know how. Hell, he didn't eat. His mind began whirring away, desperately trying to cope with the hand that fate had dealt. He dared not screw this up. Something deep inside told him that to do so would be worse than setting off a thermal det at a life day celebration for the elderly.
"Oh, um. Hi?"

"Oh ~hai Eralam! I'll be there in a bit..."
She put her hands into the over and took out whatever instant meal she had put in earlier. Walking over to the seating area, she set the bowl down. Somehow, it smelt better than she thought it would. Then she realised she wasn't wearing her mitts.
Brushing the skin flakes off, she walked to Eralam, beaming at his excellent timing.
"You're just in time! I hope you're hungry..."
Scooting him over to the table, she dished up the survival rations that smelt of charred skin. She did the same for herself, sat at the opposite end of the table before industriously shovelling it into her mouth. A bit tougher than she remembered last, but she was feeling hungry.
"I think its meat. Or was it beans~?" She said duringmouthfuls "Anyway, its good for youu~"

You know that look that deer get right before you smash into them at 60 mph on a dark country road? That was Eralam. For nearly 5 seconds, he was frozen. When a human freezes, there are a dozen little twitches and tics that let you know that they're still alive. When a droid freezes, it stops. Completely. Nothing. Put them on a street corner and call them modern art; they might as well be a statue. For five seconds, he searched through every byte of data, every holodrama, pretty much the entire body of published information concerning meals in a domestic setting. When he rejoined the world of the living, he had a plan.
"Hi honey. Golly, this looks swell!"
Of all the accrued data, the bit that seemed to be the most revered among humanoid societies concerned a holodrama from the very dawn of recorded history. It couldn't even be properly considered a holodrama, as it was only two dimensional and done entirely in greyscale. It had been copied, parodied, forgotten, remembered, revived and restored so many times that almost a full percentage point of all data everywhere was related to this show. It focused on a small family unit consisting of a male, a female, and two adolescent children. Words like "wholesome" and "traditional" were often used to describe it.
If this one show could dominate such a large portion of collective cultural mind, then Eralam figured it would make a suitable template for the meal in front of him. It's not like he knew enough to contradict it. Ask him to blow up a bridge or pilot a starship and he was the go-to guy. But he had never once, in his untold thousands of years of existence, sat down for a meal. Why would he? Droids don't eat.
"It sure has been a long day. I'm famished."
It's widely known that the RoboNinja could consume liquids. It was an adaptation that served him well in bars across the galaxy. The exact means was never specified, as that would take too much work on the part of the author, but he figured that it couldn't be too much more difficult to shovel down some survival rations.
He began to "eat," not daring to attempt anything resembling complex conversation.

While all this was going on, the ship began to rise into the air and blasted towards orbit. The sophisticated autopilot had no problem plotting a course while the pilot was busy, and in fact, it preferred to do so. As far as it was concerned, the pilot was a waste of space. A ship should be able to fly itself, dammit.
At any rate, as soon as it was clear of the gravity well of the planet, it blasted into hyperspace, leaving the watery world of Manaan behind.

To Kuroro, it was great. Just her and Eralam, sharing a meal together.
A fantasy come true.
She felt simply elated. It was an itch, a desire that she had always had, but until now could never be sated. Eralam's performance was superb. At this point Kuroro was not sure whether she was madly in love with Eralam because of who he was or saw him as perfection because she infatuated with him. At this point Kuroro's brain was operating on a different level, one which was not meant to do much thinking. She only noticed the little things - the way he held his fork, his posture...
These things never lasted as long. Soon the food was done and Kuroro tore herself away from basking in his glory to clean up. She was practically glowing with happiness.

He looked about as he rode shouting out* So here we are back again. Ain't that bloody nice. Now let us get a right understanding here, we babysit this piss hole for my friend Mortus.... No more no less. what you amadants supply us with comes at a cost; mess with me & I start getting used to fish that look of a human manner. hope that was bloody clear enough. I have no quarrel with the Selkath.... do not toy with me. Now... in the name of the IF I declare this our home... again. I want all Dubh & IF to assemble here immediately. *The madman rode on*

The Dynamic-class freighter which carried Admiral Vereor & his entourage descended to the planet. The world itself didn't exactly have a surface, but instead was home to a giant floating city of sorts. The city itself was home to a plethora of different species & races, but the native species of Manaan were the Selkath. Vereor had grown a fondness for them overtime. Upon his first encounter with the fish creatures, he was instantly put off by the expected aroma. Living in the city for so many years, however, Vereor grew accustomed and became desensitized, and he also stopped his occasional consumption of fish. Feelings of nostalgia washed for him as fond memories flooded his mind, most of which revolved around the Mortus bar, which became the unofficial IF headquarters. Many important meeting had been held, which he'd been a part of. Then he'd go participate in an assortment of drinking games. He'd made friends here. This place was home, and he was glad to be back.
It felt like an eternity before his ship finally made it to the landing dock. He made the appropriate communications with traffic control and was guided safely to his destination. Autopilot took over and the ship sailed smoothly into its designated spot. Vereor left the his ship, and two of his entourage stayed behind. It wasn't that he felt he needed to keep his ship secure; he knew nothing would happen to it, not only because this was already a high security area, but also because of the state of the art on board self defense system. Regardless, he didn't feel the need to walk around flanked by four Echani warriors, and he enjoyed the reassurance that members of his personal guard were still there to watch over things. They'd probably mill about the hangers, refreshing the Selkath on proper procedures for high priority patrons. It must have been a while since they have had to play the role of gracious host, along with providing appropriate security detail for said patrons.
He walked through the streets, overcome with fond memories. This was the spot where he fell drunk on his face. And this is one of the many spots where ATD fell drunk on his face. Under the new paint & plaster, if you looked close, you could see old scars in the walls from a time long past. And this is where... He stopped mid thought as he came across the window. Before him was the ocean. He was left breathless in the face of this beauty. The sun was just touching the horizon, and the entire sea was a marvelous, shimmering orange. It was times like this that really made him appreciate life. It was hard to find beauty in the universe in these days, and when you finally did, it had to be cherished. He stood in breathless awe until he was interrupted by a message on his communicator. All of his transport ships were landed and the equipment has begun to be unpacked. Excellent, everything was running smoothly. He took one last look at the glorious scene before continuing his trek to the Mortus.
Just a right at the next corner, then another right and he was there. He was finally back, after all these years. There was almost something sacred about the bar. He'd shared so many memories here. So many triumphs and drinks with friends. This bar? This bar was home. He dismissed his guards, who then went about aiding the the unpacking of all the new equipment. Vereor, though? Vereor took a seat at the bar, ordered his usual, and waited for the rest of his family to arrive.

*An TIiarna felt the presence long before it materialized, dismounting his steed with a rare grin* Mortus chara.... Tank the Gods we reclaimed Manaan before your return a chara, considering it my fault t'was lost to begin with. We acquired a bit of land & slapped too many people down like dogs.... even if dogs they were a incredible display of unity between Sith, Jedi & all things between in this version of hands across the universe descended on us & forced me to blow... well pretty much everything here to pieces & go for a walkabout..... apparently some rebuilding was done before our arrival. As I am clear to point out, I am king of the IF; we babysat Manaan for you a chara. But this place is my home.... & That of the IF IF you will have us.....

"save me An Tiarna save me!" But the first chance they get they get all our a cairde turn to stab my back. traitors & morons..... the bodies you see now you will remember. they were IF 100% when none even liked association with the name. The real IF not those in it for the profit & fame but nothing else & unwilling to accept blame. I disassociated friends with power & for that I feel shame but they opened up my eyes.... Now I see clearly.... A chara we of honor are a dying breed. that said if intergalactic child support existed we would be bloody broke..... won't even go to far on that one.....

The serenity of Manaan was broken early in the day with the arrival of the Warriors of the Iron Fist and their army, however since then things quieted down. But disruption came once more, this time in the resonating booms of the sound barrier being broken. To look to the heavens, soldiers and men alike would see a brilliant white ball with a red tail descending to the surface. A meteor at first glance, though after watching, the object slowed significantly. White turned to red, and red turned to blue. Then the meteor was gone, or so they thought- for in actuality there was never a meteor, but rather, a man.
The Dark Lord descended in the manner of his Hssiss Commandos, coming from the heavens to bring hell to the earth. The initial moments of the descent are the worst, as gravity takes hold and slingshots you down to the atmosphere encased in a ball of fire. Fortunately, Hssiss Body Armor is specifically made for this purpose, which is the only reason the man wasn't cooked upon entry. After 20 seconds of light and heat, the suit's outer flaps engaged, as well as repulsors, which slowed descent down significantly. Now within manageable speeds, Nexus was able to negotiate his way down to the surface. He was invisible for several minutes before he appeared as a minute spec in the sky- no larger than a bird. Then the spec grew, and grew, and grew. As it approached the base, soldiers lifted their weapons and brought their sights to the man. None had seen the Hssiss in action, so none would know that it was Nexus. As it came closer, the men opened fire. Light lit up the sky as blasters cried out in unison. Suddenly the spec was gone- believed to be incinerated in the sheer ferocity of the defense. The men watched the sky for a long while, however they failed to note the subtle shifting in the light around them.
He was on the ground, engaged in camoflage that hid the suit and its wearers from eyes and scanners. The wraith made its way closer to An Tiarna and Mortus. While it did not reveal itself physically, it made no effort to hide its force aura. A maelstrom of emotion and energy marked the man, the man who An Tiarna was familiar with, who was once a member of the IF, and later a member of the Dark Tide. The Lord of Chaos had earned his name by his aura. After a few moments, the man's stealth systems lowered, revealing the heavy power armor of the Hssiss commandos. The man looked to Mortus and An Tiarna before pressing his fist against his left breast by way of an honorable greeting.
"Gentlemen...It has been too long."
The voice of Nexus was deep and powerful, with the subtle hint of a Mando'a accent. It was a voice heard and feared on the plains of war, yet here it was the voice of a brother.

Cormac's shuttle landed in Ahto and he walked off. He was dressed well, a rare lightfoil hanging from his belt and a blaster strapped to his side in a quick draw holster. Cormac admittedly was a bit nervous. His father had left when he was but a babe, after giving him his name and branding his chest. Cormac had spent his adult life hunting for information about the man, learning his strange language, researching the ways of his father's clan, hoping to some day meet him. Cormac walked away from the shuttle, heading into the city. He could feel the undulations of the darkside in this place, for that was the true gift his father had given him.
The gift of the force. He could feel the panoply of powerful presences assembled together, and he directed himself toward them, ready for whatever would come. He knew he was in danger, but he trusted in his sword-arm, his aim, and the force to protect him as he walked, coming near to the assembled powers.
He saw them then, and he picked out a man on a sickly gray horse. The man was savage in appearance, but Cormac knew him instantly.
I see you shield-breaker, head-taker. You of the warp-spasm and the loud war-cry. Soon you shall see me as well.
Cormac approached them all, his eyes fixed on An Tiarna. When he was close enough, he spoke.
"Dia dhuit a hAthair"
