The Siege of Choal - The End
Plaza before the capital building of Choal, Seat of the former Jabiimi gouvernment
As the Jabiimi's numbers dwindled within the following skirmishes within the streets of Choal, the leaders of the defending gouvernment realized that they could no longer maintain the fight, holding a parlay between the invaders and themselves. They knew that there was no other choice in order to save their population from the terrors outside their walls. The Dominion leadership would answer the call, eventually agree on the meeting between the leaders of the two factions at war.
Time would pass when most of the Dominion troops would enter the plaza, several walkers following most of the ground forces. Troopers, mercenaries and brutish creatures alike, encircleing the plaza in an wide array. With the hulking figure of Shaxad in the background the Jabiimi leaders felt even more lonely in the middle of the plaza, as a single person approached them, a brown-skinned Quarren, his face looking heavily mutated. Watching via broadcast, most of the Jabimii citizens witnessed how the lone figure slowly approached their gouvernment leaders, the few bodyguards around them nervously pointing their rifles at the unknown alien leader.
When C'Thyl arrived at the plaza, the Jabiimi politicians in front of him didn't even dare to reach out their hand for greeting the fellow leader. The fear within their eyes showed, that most of these elder parliament members just wanted to settle this agenda as fast as possible. A grey-haired man stepped forward, looking at least more stern than the rest of them. His stoic appearence still revealed the last spark of resistance, that Jabiim had offered the Quarren Dominion until this point. The Prophet could sense the feelings of the man before him, knowing though that he was nearly broken within his defiance.
"As the head of gouvernment, I announce to you, leader of the Quarren, that the parliament has come to the decision of surrendering towards your forces and to negotiate the terms of Jabiim's surrender towards your supposed Dominion", he soley told C'Thyl with gritting teeth, loud and clearly, "Our planetary forces have already been weakened by the First Order and their pawns, we've bled enough to risk the lifes of our people any further. Therefore-"
The man suddenly stopped, as he felt a sudden sting from his chest. Nothing was visible at first and confusion began to spread, as the Jabiimi leader just held his hand at the spot of his heart briefly, before he continiued speaking, sudden shock in his eyes.
"Therefore-"
He tried to repeat the sentence he was about to say, as suddenly his face went pale. Without any warning, the Jabiimi leader collapsed from the sudden heart attack, that stroke him. The bodyguards immidiately ran towards his position, trying to check if he was assassinated, keeping an eye on the Prophet himself, who just stood there, motionless. The rest of the parliament members backed away from C'Thyl, being now even more horrified.
"I appreciate your surrender and the conditions you have tied to it, Chancellor", C'Thyl only replied dry, his voice booming menacing over the intercoms so that everyone within the city could hear him, "The gouvernment of Jabiim has disappointed the Quarren Dominion with its stubborn defiance and thus will be replaced by our leadership. You will accept a new Chancellor, chosen by the Triarchy, and the ones, he appoints as gouvernors of the planet as your new leadership and will surrender willingly to the terms of the Dominion. Otherwise we will punish the capital city with dire consequences, if we sense any form of major resistance."
The holo screens flickered, as they suddenly showed an image of the massive fleet in Jabiim's orbit, the Dominion looming threatening with other Mon Calamari ships over the planet. The Prophet sensed that the bodyguards, who considered potentially shooting him, the mysterious Quarren leader, had now no intentions at all to kill him, fearing of what might follow next if they tried to do so.
It didn't take a long time until the rest of the parliament members just began to kneel in front of C'Thyl, showing that they have accepted the terms of surrender. An eerie silence befell the plaza as the Prophet left it, only leaving the sound of the everlasting rain on the broadcast screens. Some watchers would swear that they could see the Prophet's figure briefly flicker for a milisecond, yet it didn't matter, as the citizens of the planet realized what this meant for all of them.
Choal has fallen.
And with its surrender, Jabiim belonged now towards the Quarren Dominion.
