The top level hosts the temple's throne room, where black marble floors stretch in all directions, and the myriad of grand spiraling columns rise to meet the ceiling. Large windows dominate the north wall and permit the outside ambiance to relentlessly pour through. Staircases flanking the grand throne platform lead up to the roof, where a vista of the Meditation Canyon is found on the horizon.

Pacing slowly back and forth before the twin thrones that dominated the stage, Mariah bided her time as she awaited for this mission of hers to truly begin. The placement of the flower within the newest arrival's daily bouquet was child’s play, although she began to wonder if it was too subtle of a move to gain his attention. Nonetheless, she would use her spare time here carefully. One way or another, this Fallen Count of Serenno would arrive here, or seek her out. The mere fact that it had been a week before she sought out an audience with him may have been considered insulting, although to her, the very fact that she personally reached out to him spoke volumes more.
Lady Eris [RETIRED] , however, who Mariah had personally requested stand with her during this encounter, may have warned otherwise. Her daily lessons to lure Mariah from her typical anti-social behaviorisms, pushed upon them both by the Fallen, had grown to be too much for even Mariah to bear. If Ifrit wanted a politician's wife as an Empress, then as far as Mariah was concerned, she would grant him his wish and hoped to prove as much to Eris today. These masks were something she had long hoped to put behind her, but if it meant ending the torturous sessions, it was clearly the lesser of two evils.
And thus the waiting game would continue, at least until Mariah could sense the presence of another entering the throne room.

By this point, Aderon had learned the layout of the temple rather well had gotten accustomed to the darker architecture of the building rather well. Even though he, in many ways, would be something of an outsider to many of the Dark Jedi, he still made some effort to prevent a rift forming between himself and the other members of the order. The last thing he needed was to attract the ire of someone in power.
Which is why the odd note he had received from the Empress distinctly troubled him. When he had walked into the room, he immediately recognized that the rose was extremely out of place when compared to the other flowers, which all suited the brighter tones of the room nicely. The Fallen Empress was well known for being something of a social recluse, preferring her own company as opposed to the company of others. Thus, if something had drawn her out to out to speak with Aderon, it was clearly something out of the ordinary. Although, then again, she could likely be curious about the man. Doubtless, whispers had circled throughout the order surrounding his past, and it would not be unlike someone as inquisitive as the empress was to look into such whisperings.
The door to the throne room was opened by two sentinels who stood watch over the entrance to the important space, and Aderon stepped inside. A loud slam was heard behind him as the heavy doors were closed, not to be reopened until his meeting was concluded. The room itself was quite dizzying, due to the sheer height and strange architecture that made it up. The spiraling columns placed at somewhat random intervals made the room extremely visually confusing, with only one clearly defined focal point, that being the throne. Walking deeper into the room, his boots against the floor producing a staccato clicking that likely could have alerted anyone in the space of his arrival, he looked about for the woman who had sent him the message. And it did not take long for him to spot the red-haired empress. Next to her stood The Fallen's general, who wore on her back a large set of wings that seemed to not dominate her person, but instead draw attention to her.
Stepping forward, he made the standard gesture of kneeling while bowing his head forward when greeting someone of galactic importance who went by the title of "empress".
"Empress, Lady Eris. Greetings."

The 'THUD' of the doors shutting behind Aderon brought Mariah to steady herself from her back and forth wanderings. Turning her gaze towards the approaching figure, the smaller of the women glided her way back towards Eris. It was a brief moment that Mariah glanced over at the other woman, revealing the last, lingering scowl, before she softened her expression and turned to the Count. However, she found herself struggling with his formal greeting towards her -- kneeling and bowing in such a revered greeting. Mariah needed to bite down hard on her lower lip to keep herself from failing immediately with this encounter. A lesson the Empress was still far from having grasped, that she was now someone of importance, at least among the order.
"Count Aderon Dooku of Serenno," Mariah greeted with a faint nod of her head towards him, before correcting him gently. "Please, rise. There's no need for such formalities with me. I may be the Empress, but I have far from earned such respect from you."
The small woman proceeded down the few steps that led from the thrones to the main floor that dominated most of this area. Offering out her hand to him, she attempted something of a smile, however faint, to break up the intensity of the crimson eyes that watched him closely.
"I hope you'll pardon the fact that it's taken me this long to reach out to you and make your acquaintance."

Rising from his kneeled position, Aderon took note of what the Empress said. Evidently, she was not used to the courtly rituals that tended to follow positions such as the one she held. Having never met a leader who disregarded such formalities, he was caught somewhat unprepared for the second part of her response. Simply nodding his head an acknowledgment, he made a brief apology to the lady.
"Apologies, Empress."
Accepting her hand, the Count lithely shook her hand. He was, at this point, unsure to what degree the Empress followed courtly procedures and decorum, decided to play it safe with his greeting. Already, this meeting was highly irregular, given that there wasn't a court present, save for Lady Eris, who seemed content to stay back and allow Mariah to do the talking.
Although Mariah may have thought that her intense gaze made Aderon rather uncomfortable, he answered back with his own eyes, also carefully observing her. Her crimson against his blue, the two of them were furiously, yet silently, cross examining each other, as would be expected, given their two respective situations. The Count had spent a lifetime mastering the arts of the political battlefield, and this was no different from that. Mariah, on the other hand, was likely trying to get a read on his character, which was understandable and indeed, the intelligent thing to do.
"No need to apologize, your grace. I admit that I've been rather busy over the past week, getting integrated into the order, so the blame does not lie with you."

It was true enough that the meeting itself was a highly irregular circumstance, from the beckoning of his presence to the eventual greeting between the two. It was easy enough to see, to sense, that between her words and her actions, she had already managed to create a level of uncertainty with the Count, although he effortlessly and elegantly moved onward, meeting her gaze with his own with such a sharp intensity. That was always the issue she found with meeting those figures such as Aderon. Trained from birth to handle an array of situations with grace, and to perpetually analyze the words both spoken and not with all they met. A chess game with every interaction, which was why Mariah tended to leave these types of dealings with the Fallen. One wrong step, and war had the opportunity to be on their doorstep.
"Then with all blame and apologies aside," she murmured with a quiet, low laugh, "perhaps we should start fresh, Count Dooku."
Mariah turned her gaze aside to glance back up at the woman overlooking the exchange in silence. There was one thing about this man she was more than curious about, but handling it tactfully would be another challenge in and of itself -- to break the court decorum drilled into him while speaking with figures such as herself. However, one look upon Eris reminded her that this was not why she had called him here. After a brief pause for her to inhale deeply, she let go of such petty desires to continue on with the original reason she sought an audience with him.
"I hoped for a chance to meet with you, to get to know you better and understand what it is you hope to accomplish while among the Dark Jedi. You've created an immediate fame about yourself, whether purposeful or not, but you may consider my curiosity piqued. I wish to see if there is any way I might personally be able to lend aid in your ascension among our ranks, and for your fame among us to grow. Of course," she added with a slight, questioning tilt of her head, "if that is among what you wish during your time here."

Aderon gently nodded his head, affirming her sentiment that a fresh start would be nice. Being far more used to the decorum surrounding these sorts of interactions, he would very much like a chance to regain his footing, having lost his proverbial balance in the conversation. The Count himself was in a similar situation as Mariah, seeing as he was used to dealing with people who were like him, and generally following the many fetters of the courtly procedure. Indeed, he would have to get used to not having that same sort of structure in place if he was to survive long in this faction.
Turning his attention to the question at hand, the young man had to stifle a sigh. He did not particularly like revealing his motivations, as that had seriously cost him, and he did not want to repeat mistakes that had previously served to be his undoing at the hands of an upstart commander. Even so, it was likely that Mariah did not intend to betray him, seeing as it was in her greatest self interest not to do so.
"I seek the truth of the darkness. I have been... deceived by the Jedi for most of my life, and I seek its applications. More specifically, how I can apply it to my... main profession. The Sith would not teach me it without expecting me to serve them exclusively in their own goals, and the Ren are violent fools. I believe your order does not have its own brand of tomfoolery, hence why I seek this knowledge from you."

To believe that it was in her greatest self-interest to not betray Aderon, it was the understatement of the millennia. It was easy enough to see from the very way he addressed her, spoke with her, carried himself around her -- all that he exuded seemed to exemplify the very person that was expected of herself. Or at least, that was her impression, between Eris' lessons and the Fallen's nudges for her to mingle as she did with the Count now.
Although the Empress seemed to show her hand in that regard from the very beginning, perhaps it played in her favor all the same. Aderon appeared to carry some caution around the question presented, but his answer remained adequate enough. An intrigued half-smile tugged at the edge of Mariah's lips, and she revealed her own, albeit slight understanding with a slight nod of her head towards him.
"The Jedi have their own extremist beliefs, lies which they've continued to teach their young and carry generation to generation. I can see how your endeavor with them may have come up empty handed... and the Sith? I’m surprised to hear that you tried... although it was a noble attempt, I'm sure."
Mariah may have revealed her distaste for both parties, but with as much ease as those words parting from her lips, she moved on to the more pertinent matters at hand.
"I cannot guarantee that you’ll find us wholly absent of 'tomfoolery'," she warned with an odd glimmer in her eyes. Amusement perhaps, but as soon as she seemed to realize the look she wore, it faded back to her more relaxed, but focused, expression, "but what I can guarantee you is that your assumption about us are correct, that we are not like those you've sought in the past. You are free to study as you wish, to find the truth of the darkness, as you put it, and to aid the Dark Jedi with your discoveries as you see fit. So long as that does not turn into any sort of contempt or hostility towards the order, of course, but you'll find that you’re more than welcome to come and go as you please, without the worry of those same shackles that the Sith place upon their initiates. Hopefully that will be enough to prove to you, though, that you belong here in your endeavors."

Aderon smiled a bit at the statement about tomfoolery. So long as the order was disciplined, that was all that mattered. Messing about outside of serious matters was not something Aderon thought should go away. It was true, however, that the sort of horseplay he was referring to in his previous statement was not a present factor in the Dark Jedi. However, this brief expression was short-lived, as it receded back into the Count's typical face, betraying no emotion whatsoever.
Aderon quite enjoyed these duels of wordplay, perhaps even more so than those duels of a more physical nature. It was quite evident that the Fallen Empress would much prefer not to be in this meeting, and would ordinarily spend the time off in her chambers. However, it was also clear that she had some objective with this conversation, something she wanted from Aderon. Everything had a purpose, after all.
"Contempt or hostility? Empress, that is a severe misjudgment, let me assure you. I am well acquainted with the miasma known as betrayal, and I shall not bring it upon this order, so long as it does not bring it upon me."
Aderon began to asses the Empress' motives for bringing him here. It was surely not out of her desire for conversation, as she was well known for her lack of such a desire. The glimmer in her eye caught his attention somewhat, as being a typical sign of amusement. However, it did not explain her objectives in this meeting. However, it was quite likely she had some sort of use for him, a use that was currently beyond the scope of consideration. Still, he would have to be coy about it. One wrong move could earn his place on
"I do believe your words are earnest, although we both know time will be the ultimate judge of the truth of that statement..."

Eris remained off to the side upon the raised platform where the thrones sat. She was merely here as an observer at the Fallen Empresses request. Mariah insisted that the daily lessons were having an effect on her. But whether that was positive or negative, Eris was yet to determine. She kept her arms crossed beneath her chest as she examined Mariah and Aderon. A simple nod of her head was all she granted the man in greeting for now. But beyond that, she remained outside of the conversation. It was clear that Mariah was legitimately trying, whereas such things seemed to be almost second nature for The Count. Despite the stumbles both had taken in the beginning, it appeared they were starting to regain their footing

A smile from the Count, there and gone in the blink of an eye. However, in its own way, it marked something of a victory in Mariah's mind. True enough, she would have preferred remaining in her chambers, but Eris had a goal for her, a goal she believed to have met with the resolution of that faint expression. At the very least, there was a stark difference between the way this interaction progressed and the other newcomer she had attempted to welcome. Where Aderon much preferred the duels of wordplay, the woman he spoke with had different opinions. At least this time, she kept that fact better buried beneath the surface of this façade. At least up until this point.
"It was not a mark against your intentions, Count Dooku, you misunderstand," she corrected with a faint tilt of her head and attempted, quiet smile. "It is simply a disclosure I believe all should be given as we welcome them into our ranks. Although we are growing quickly, we are still as fragile as a newborn babe. All it takes is one, and that which we've built could come crumbling. I want you to understand that I will personally cut down any who attempts to harm us from the inside, as you are not the only one who, as you put it, is 'well acquainted with the miasma known as betrayal'."
That flicker of a faint smile seemed to brighten, but only by some strange sense of joyous maliciousness that lurked beneath the surface. The mask beginning to peel away, Mariah breathed in deep, turning her gaze away as she pondered Eris, who had remained quiet throughout this encounter. However, Mariah knew that she was here, like a teacher watching over her student. Thus, she would probably remain silent during the rest of this encounter. Exhaling that breath, she returned her focus back upon Aderon with a controlled gentleness in her expression and focus.
"You are as correct as ever that time will be the ultimate judge, but call it a premonition," Mariah continued, attempting a lighthearted jest. "You said it yourself that you haven't much luck with either the Jedi or Sith. You and I are very much alike in that way. I have a feeling you'll find your place here."
Her eyes fixed upon his. There was something he was waiting for, from her. A confirmation for this meeting, for the reason she called him here. Although her original objective was simple enough in nature -- to simply welcome a member without inching closer to bloodshed -- the more she spoke with him, the more complicated an alternative objective became. As he had said, however, time would be the ultimate judge, if this intriguing new thought would even find fruition. She could at least attempt to nudge it in the right direction, though, and see what came of it.
"You come here seeking to discover your own truth, in which I am sure the Dark Jedi can aid you, but tell me Count Dooku... what assets do you believe you possess? Those that might naturally benefit the order during your time here?" Another smile played upon her lips, her eyes narrowing just slightly as if to examine Aderon deeper than the surface of his nature. “Although I have my own beliefs, if there's anything I've learned over the years, it's that you can’t always judge a book by its cover."

Luxeria made her way down the halls, letting his presence be her guide. Still, that didn't stop her from catching one of the residents and asking for directions. She could follow the general direction, but with twists and turns of the halls, she could end up in an area he wasn't. And she wasn't about to look like a fool. She used her charm and looks to get the knowledge easily enough, telling him that she had just arrived and Ifrit was waiting for her there, which was the actual truth. The man complied and pointed her in the right direction.
It wasn't much longer before she found the throne room which the towering man in the back of it. Passing through the threshold, the room opened up into some grander, causing Luxeria's green eyes to look about. Despite how barren the world outside seemed, she was rather pleased with how the room was designed, reminder her a fair bit of her own chambers on Mustafar. Finally reaching the throne, Luxeria looked back to Ifrit, taking in his presence and appearance before giving a small bow of her head, just as she had before. "Lord Ifrit. It is a pleasure to see you again. It has been quite some time."

Ifrit lifted his head ever so slightly as Luxeria entered the Throne Room and approached the platform. It had to have been about a year or more since his last encounter with the young woman. Back then, she had just completed her training under Malvus and had sought him out for a pair of items. And while it had been a relatively short time, he could sense how much her power had grown in that time. An understandable change given all that had transpired since then Lady Luxeria, welcome to my new home... It really has been far too long. Almost a life time ago, given all that has transpired since then... Your beauty is as radiant as ever, and your power continues to grow stronger... So, what brings you to me again?

Luxeria simply let her eyes take in the man and her senses feel his presence. There was always something to admire about him, that much she knew. After three years since their last meeting on Sullust, he was exactly as she remembered him aside from a few details. "Please, just Luxeria to you. No reason to stand on such etiquette with me. But I’ve heard you’ve been busy as of late. Stepping away from your position within the Blackguard to become The Fallen and head of this new order of Dark Jedi. Quite the accomplishment in the three years since our last meeting. However, the Fallen seems like a such a strange title. For your power and what you’ve achieved, The Ascended would have been more appropriate, even if it sounds like something among the Jedi. Still, I’m glad to know you still hold an alliance with the Blackguard.
Upon asking what brought her here, she motioned to the droid behind her to step forward. Umbra did so without hesitation, the boy still unconscious in its arms. "I’ve come seeking to pay you back for the trinkets you helped me finish. Not only that, I’m hoping to further the alliance between the Blackguard and the Dark Jedi. Or, at the very least, an alliance between you and I. I’m sure we can benefit from such a union." She then turned to look at the boy. "During the Great Hunt, I was bothered by what I felt of the Jedi when visiting Felucia and hunting Rancors. Afterward, I returned on my own to survey the scene. They are thriving in a new temple. While I had only wished to observe and report any findings to the Sith’ari, I was unfortunately confronted by this child."
She then looked back to Ifrit. "Somehow, despite completely hiding my presence, this sole child was able to find me. At first, I just wished to eliminate him before I was discovered. But as the fight carried on, he began to shift and started drawing on the Dark-Side, making me suddenly want to turn him. But in his defeat, I realized something strange. While untrained, the darkness he wielded did not seem as one who was slowly falling. It felt like a natural darkness instilled in him since birth. Even more, She then reached out to the boy for the necklace, the darkness starting to rise as if resisting her presence. Scowling a little, she reached in quick, snatching up the necklace that rested upon him and held up the blood red stone to him. "This item was around his neck. When I first sought to take it for my trophy, darkness surged from it in attempt to resist me. I can feel great power within it, greater than any one person. So I brought him here to you instead of taking him to the Blackguard. I figured you could find use of him. Turn him, study him, turn him into a dark slave, something of value."

He smirked as she stated he could just call her by her name. A token of their friendship, or perhaps a sign of respect. Not that the why mattered, nor did he linger upon it for long as she commented on his choice of name. He motioned with his right hand toward her then Unlike yourself, my dear, I have no aspirations for divinity... No... I have fallen from the light, and now live in the darkness... Once, I was a Jedi, but no longer. That is why I chose that title... To remind me of what I came from, and what I am today... But you are more than welcome to be called the Ascended, when your time comes... Ifrit shifted forward in his throne then, as the droid came forward carrying an unconscious victim. Luxeria's prisoner and gift to him as she explained it. He rose from his seat then, closing the distance between himself and the red-haired beauty as she spoke of beneficial unions and repaying her debt for the amulets and mask he had made for her. A somewhat sinister smirk crossing his lips then Oh, there is definitely a union we can both benefit from quite eagerly Luxeria... Though, as I recall, you did decline the opportunity once before... He shifted his attention from Luxeria to the boy then. Studying the child as Luxeria recounted the story of her fight with him. It was quite curious that a Jedi padawan might have sensed her out, despite the precautions she had taken. But the possibility that there was a darkness instilled within this boy from birth might explain it. Though how the Jedi had not noticed it was puzzling. But as Luxeria snatched up the necklace, things started to become a little more clear.
He slipped his own hand beneath hers as he moved closer to examine the trinket. A blood red stone that even now sought to rise against the touch of another. He then slipped her hand clear of the necklace, letting it rest back upon the boy's chest. It was a Sith Amulet, of that he was certain. But what it was meant for, he could only speculate about in that moment. His attention shifted back to Luxeria, his hand still clutched around hers Consider your debt more than repaid my dear... There is definitely more to this boy than meets the eye, something I doubt Viox would have recognised... I suspect that amulet has some protective spells woven into it, to prevent someone removing it... But for what reason, I will require time to ascertain... He brought his free hand up and rested it atop her palm then I told you once before that I would be more than willing to ally with you and provide what assistance you might need on your path forward... My offer remains as true now as it did then... I suggest we keep this boy between the two of us though. The last thing I need is Viox or his men trying to barge in here and meddle with powers they do not fully understand...

Luxeria couldn't help but laugh a bit when Ifrit explained the reasoning behind his choice of title. It was fitting, considering the situation. But her laugh was more directed towards the idea of her taking such a title. "Me, the Ascended? We know I'd require a more creative title than that. Goddess of Illumination is more than enough to handle that task, don't you think?"
When he shifted upon the throne, putting some attention into her offering and her words. As her explanation came to a close, he stood to his towering height and made his way down to her. While she had figured time and position might have kept the meeting professional, part of her had expected him to make a comment of sorts to the idea of unions and what transpired during her last visit. As subtle as it was, it was that very instance that she was truly eluding to. His smirk was met by one of her own, a playful, yet dark tone reflecting in her eyes. "Yes, I did. At that time, my attention had been focused upon the state of another. Something that has long since been given a second thought."
As his attention returned to the boy and the necklace she displayed, she grew curious as to what he thought of Kahn. Her own interest had been piqued by the events on Felucia and she wished to know more. Be it just to sort out how the child had accomplished what he did or to find a use of what the boy possessed for herself, it didn't matter. Her offering would serve a purpose.
Her attention shifted up to Ifrit as his hand met hers and he took the necklace from her, placing it back upon the boy. As it did, she felt the power within it die down. But even when it had been replaced, his hand remained though he continued on as if nothing was happening. When he spoke of Viox not needing to know, and that it would be between them, she just shook her head. "Whether Viox would have noticed it or not, is unknown. One would think that upon mentioning the same thing as I have to you, he would have, at least, given him to one of the alchemists for study. But it's a moot point. I have brought him to you instead and that's where this aspect of my trip will remain. As for time, take what time you need. I do expect the necklace back once you've done what you need to with it, so until then, I may as well make myself at home within the temple. As the Blackguard and Dark Jed are allies, best to know this place should I ever be required to stay here for one reason or another." Though she noticed the placement of his free hand, she continued to look up Ifrit, seeming oblivious to it. "And provided it doesn't affect my place within the Blackguard, whatever you have need of me that you hesitate to ask of your own members, just let me know."

He gave a simple nod of his head as she stated that the title of Goddess of Illumination would be more than enough. Provided she ever achieved her goal, he had no doubt it would serve her purpose just fine. Until then, she would just be Lady Luxeria of the Blackguard.
He had heard whispers about the relationship between Luxeria and Vasari not long after the woman had left Sullust. Apparently since then, their bond had been broken. By what, he did not know. Nor did he intend to pry into the matter. It was an interesting reversal of roles though. For though his relationship with the Fallen Empress was less than conventional, his feelings lingered upon her. Even if perhaps she did not feel the same Perhaps you shall find someone else capable of standing at your side as an equal one day... He listened then as she spoke of staying within the Temple. At least until such time as Ifrit was able to get the necklace to a state in which it would be safe for her to take as a trophy. He gave a nod of his head as she finished speaking, offering her services to him provided that the task did not affect her position within the Blackguard By all means, feel free to explore and get to know the Temple. Quarters shall be set aside for your use while you remain here. I will try to not take too much time in making the necklace safe for you to take... As to your last offer... I shall definitely keep it in mind... For now, Get the boy down to the second floor. Once he is set up in one of the labs, we can keep him sedated enough to examine just what makes him tick...

As the words came from Ifrit, it began to feel like a storm cloud growing over her. Bit by bit, the smile she carried and the light that existed in her eyes faded as she looked at the man. It wasn't what she had hoped to hear. As he finished speaking of her one day finding someone worthy of walking by her side, she gave but a slow, steady sigh before responding. "Perhaps.."
Her tone had grown a bit darker and empty in the span of a few seconds. It didn't escape her mind the time that had passed since their last meeting. Fully expecting him to have someone that he looked to, she would have merely shrugged it off. Despite what others might have suggested, even being denied didn't bother her in the moment. No, it was his previous words, teasing at the possibility only to just brush past it like it meant nothing. This was what irked her. She might have been a seductress, teasing and playing at the feelings off others, but she didn't play games with those around her that held importance of some degree. When he brought it up before, even she did't beat around the bush with games.
Slipping her hand from his, she made sure to keep her flux of emotions rising up within her in check and contained. But her eyes and tone were more than enough to express her displeasure. But she moved on past that, focusing the entirety of her attention upon the boy. As he gave her the instructions as to what to do with him, she gave a bow of her head. "Very well. I'll get him down there. If you need anything, you know how to find me."Her tone continued to lack any of the playful fun it previous had, drawing the clear line now that her intentions had become one of business. Motioning to Umbra, the two departed the Throne Room for the labs.

At least up until this point."It was not a mark against your intentions, Count Dooku, you misunderstand," she corrected with a faint tilt of her head and attempted, quiet smile. "It is simply a disclosure I believe all should be given as we welcome them into our ranks. Although we are growing quickly, we are still as fragile as a newborn babe. All it takes is one, and that which we've built could come crumbling. I want you to understand that I will personally cut down any who attempts to harm us from the inside, as you are not the only one who, as you put it, is 'well acquainted with the miasma known as betrayal'." That flicker of a faint smile seemed to brighten, but only by some strange sense of joyous maliciousness that lurked beneath the surface. Exhaling that breath, she returned her focus back upon Aderon with a controlled gentleness in her expression and focus."You are as correct as ever that time will be the ultimate judge, but call it a premonition," Mariah continued, attempting a lighthearted jest. "You said it yourself that you haven't much luck with either the Jedi or Sith. You and I are very much alike in that way. I have a feeling you'll find your place here." Her eyes fixed upon his. She could at least attempt to nudge it in the right direction, though, and see what came of it."You come here seeking to discover your own truth, in which I am sure the Dark Jedi can aid you, but tell me Count Dooku... what assets do you believe you possess? Those that might naturally benefit the order during your time here?" Another smile played upon her lips, her eyes narrowing just slightly as if to examine Aderon deeper than the surface of his nature. “Although I have my own beliefs, if there's anything I've learned over the years, it's that you can’t always judge a book by its cover." "Indeed, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that taking things at face value is an excellent way to get yourself into an... unfavorable situation." He stopped to consider how to respond for a moment. The veneer of civility she wore was beginning to come off, and he could see the malice that lurked underneath her smile. This was his true skill; breaking down the mask of other people, exposing them for who they truly are. That was the great mystery of speechcraft, and that was what he truly excelled at. As such, he knew he would have to approach the encounter with some degree of finesse, in order to not leave himself vulnerable, or appear to be a sap."My skills? Well, a great deal should be obvious to you by now, as you likely have the ability to judge the skills someone has based on a single interaction. He remained motionless, knowing that the slightest movement would give away a sense of discomfort "you could consider me to be something of an... investigator. At the end of the day, getting to the truths of someone's motives is the greatest puzzle in an interaction, after all." At one point, he had been considered by his compatriots to be just another upstanding noble, and that was where the great deception lay. People who believed themselves in the presence of honest, upstanding characters tended to be far more susceptible to revealing... information. The information which could prove extremely useful to someone who had the resources to act on it."The order in this galaxy is built on lies. Lies that you can either be burdened by, or harness to your own endeavour. I choose to do the latter... what about you?"

Motioning to Umbra, the two departed the Throne Room for the labs. Ifrit let out a silent sigh as Luxeria's mood turned within a matter of moments. Despite his more perceptive nature, he had clearly made a mistake when speaking to her of their previous encounter. The damage had been done and he could not repair the situation as she pulled away from him. Despite his best intentions, even he still had some things left to learn about diplomacy and the woman that was Luxeria.
Without trying to press the topic, he offered a simple nod of his head as she took her leave to take the young boy down to be seen by the doctors. If his suspicion was correct, it would take him some time to make the amulet the boy wore safe for her to take. So he could spend some of that time repairing the damage he had done. After alerting the medical team of the impending arrival of their newest patient, he left the throne room...
