Sirona... no, Nidina went still, she could feel the genuine frustrations of Malvus now. This was no mere ploy to or act to get her to sympathize with him, he too felt how she felt. And of course he must. His people, whether he was or not, were born here, and built a galaxy spanning empire from here. But she still had reservations about turning against Viox. It was by his mercy, overly sheltered or not, that she had been given a chance within the Sith. But now a new chance was before her. Slowly, the woman removed her mask, wiping tears out of her eyes before closing her eyes and listening. The Force would show her the path. If she sided with Malvus she would be in a powerful position as his apprentice, capable to influence decisions. If she remained where she had been, she would likely find herself once more secluded on Mustifar with only her father's ear to try and convince. The Echani's grey eyes opened again. Pleased to see she hadn't been stabbed, the woman knelt down with shaky legs.
My Master. You are right, beyond any doubt. This world, as with all of our Orders former worlds, should be protected. The legacy of our predecessors defended. There are few who love these places and things as much as I. And for that reason, for their protection and study, I will join you, Master. I will learn from you, and safeguard our past, so that we may learn from it. She paused as words seemed to be caught in her throat. Her feelings were still very conflicted. Though this was the path the Force showed her and lead her to, she still felt a sense of familial duty, adopted or not. I- If war does come, between us and those who remain with the Blackguard... I... I don't know if I could fight against Him. I hope you understand, Master.

I... I don't know if I could fight against Him. I hope you understand, Master. There will only be war if he desires it, Sirona. Her master replies in a cold tone. He could see the conflict within his apprentice, the conflict between family and the Force. Malvus would have to seek the means to break these ties or else Sirona would never able to fully advance. He remembered a time when Luxeria had restraints upon her, restraints placed there by the heretical Order of Ruin.Remember the Code, my apprentice...The Sith gestures to the ancient fortress before them....Through Victory, my chains are Broken. The Force shall free me.There was a resonating pulse with the Dark Side when those words were uttered by the Sith Lord. Followed by total silence, save for the wind that kicked up over the edges of the dormant volcano. They whistled through the corridors of the structure, giving off an eerie sound from its depths. The Sith turns to Sirona. You shall only know one true father, Sirona... and he is the Force. He is the Dark Side. He is the Darkness that will be yours to control one day when you are refined and honed as a weapon that can draw upon its limitless depths. For now, Malvus would plant these words as seeds within her thoughts and within her mind to ensure they were always an echo. In time, he would see this restraint upon her broken... so that she may be free. The Sith then reaches forward, grabbing hold of her shoulder and making Sirona rise. Her mask was placed within her palm once more.Come. Let us see what lies within. The Sith says as he pulls his hood over his head and proceeds towards the stone structure.

Darth Sirona rose from Nidana's kneel again, as she had when she was given the name. But now a new and clearer purpose was before her. She would champion the protection of the Sith's heritage, it would be by her will that it is kept safe. And she would strive to ensure no other trespassers may disturb the holy places of the Sith. Malvus's words clung to her like a leech, she knew he sought to fully sever her from the comfortable past, from those first days on Iridonia. And perhaps he was right to do so, or maybe he wasn't. Only time and the Force would make that clear. For now though she followed her Master toward the monolithic fortress. Her heat began pounding again with excitement. The secrets that lay beyond would fuel this new order that would be built. And she would help champion it. Perhaps the key to her pet project lay within, a key to make it no longer just theoretical. Destiny waited.

"I think I might be able to shed some light on that." Said Mira, slowly removing her eight digited shaping hand from her face as they seemed to have landed in one piece. She hadn't expected Mary's flying to be so...turbulent, but she supposed given their initial introduction it wasn't all that surprising. In her other hand, the Master Shaper held her personal qahsa device, a bio-organic computer, which in this case served as a Yuuzhan Vong equivalent of a data-pad. Her occular implants seem to flit back and forth as she read the alien glyphs on the luminous screen, then looked up and turned her head towards Mary. "Lord Lucien provided a list of things he asked for us to look into on our travels. According to the information packet he provided me, an archeological team was investigating one of the tombs on this planet and failed to report in...mmm, about a month ago actually." She paused, her lips pursing thoughtfully. "That's not a good sign. Apparently the whole expedition was funded by some institute of higher learning, a Dragwarts Academy on Ryloth. Never heard of it myself, but either way, Lucy wanted us to take a peak and see if the researchers were okay."Standing up from her seat, the Yuuzhan Vong rested her hands on the cockpit dash and peered out the window. "I'm not familiar with Korriban, but it does seem a bit...mmm, desolate, I suppose. It could certainly use a bit of good old fashioned Shaper Caste love and attention." She looked at Mary. "Well, what do you say, should we have a peak?"

He very rarely said no to any suggestion of hers, and she firmly decided they'd need to discuss limits. Each others, especially.
In the meantime, the Mandalorian was doing an outstanding job of being a major distraction, and that grenade earned the duo a cry from their quarry. So he wasn't impervious to harm. He was no idiot, sadly, and quickly raised a number of duracrete crates to shield himself from the metal slugs, something he'd have a hard time deflecting with a lightsaber, and he knew it.
Moving out of cover, Millie fired at his feet from the left flank, first with her blaster pistol, more for distraction than for effect, and then followed up with a shot from her concussion rifle. Which blew most of his crate shields away.
She could see he was injured along most of his front, from the shrapnel of Erik's grenade, but he was not stumbling or particularly concerned by the bleeding. In fact, he seemed to be smirking and was motioning his hands about, with a deactivated lightsaber in his left hand. Objects, from rocks to pottery to more crates and a few large machines were trembling or floating up.
Meanwhile, the impact of the crates against the wall just now resounded much more loudly than Millie anticipated (something explosive, or reactive to the concussive blast she'd just hit them with, perhaps?), and the reverberations could both be felt and heard up to a few miles.

Mary just looked at Mira for several seconds of blank mask. Then she went to get her gun anyway. It wasn't like she let the heavily modified 9118 carbine wander far from her grip anyway. She also took the time to stop by the armory and grab a trio of grenades. Two frags, and because Mira seemed intent on it, one adhesive grenade. She was quick enough that Mira was only just making her way down the ramp when Mary caught back up to her.
-Mary You focus on peaceful. I will focus on removing you from whatever hostility you manage to find anyway. As for what we will find here, I've never even heard of this place. Given the general terrain though .... no doubt it is heavily stocked with peaceful plant munchers.
Mary intentionally turned her head in a wide sweeping arc to indicate the complete lack of anything living within sight, plant or animal. Her pointed indication, however, was interrupted by something LARGE bellowing an angry roar in the not too distance. By the time the roar stopped, Mary already had her blood red carbine out and tight up against her shoulder.

Mary could only watch in complete disbelief as Mira started walking toward the roar and singing. Obviously, whatever other skills she had, she was at least as crazy as most of the higher ranking jedi she had met so far. Whatever that thing had been it sounded big enough to take bites out of the Tempest, let alone someone human sized. On the other hand, Mira had been assigned as her teacher, so Mary figured she should at least give the other woman a chance to get eaten before getting violent. Of course, when the violence inevitably happened, Mary would be ready. She had spent a decade as a trouble shooter, often literally, for various branches of the Jedi Order. And before that she had spent another decade playing a lethal game of hide and go murder in the deep undercity of coruscant. With a start, Mary realized that more than half her life had now been lived moving from one fight to another. She looked back at the somewhat shy robonerd working night shift in the spaceports of Coruscant and wondered again how she had managed to change so much. Or if the changes were a good thing.

Despite the dismal dusty terrain and the darkly desolate surroundings they found themselves in, the Master Shaper turned Jedi Knight would not allow it to spoil her good mood. If anything it only caused her to walk a litter straighter, pushing her crimson oozhith clad chest out and marching with further purpose, now practically belting out each verse of the song. ♪♪ "Like a band of jawas we go down the highway, we're the best...of...friends..." ♪♪ Her melodic voice trailed off as she rounded the next corner of a rocky outcrop, finally coming within sight of the tomb they were looking for. What she saw there gave her pause, and perhaps, caused her a mild degree of fear. She stepped back behind the rock, dropping to a crouch as she turned towards Mary and put a long jointless digit of her shaping hand in front of her lips, calling for silence. Slowly she edged closer, motioning for the heavily armed padawan to move up and have a look at what she saw. Directly ahead was a pair of towering arches that clearly served as the mouth of the tomb, but it was what was in front of those arches that had the Yuuzhan Vong alarmed. A monstrous scaled beast at least ten meters tall stood in front of the entrance, crunching another creature with bone crushing force between a set of massive jaws, spilling dark blood and bits of gore across the ancient stone floor. Pinning its prey beneath a massive foot comprised of three talons as long as spears, it tore the head off the struggling creature with a mighty pull, then gobbled it down in a series of meaty chews. Mira had never seen a Leviathan before, nor the Terentatek it had just made a meal of, but the only thing she could liken it to was one of her own people's tank beasts. Her ocular implants zoomed in, magnifying what she was seeing from her place of concealment. In her expert opinion, this creature was not of Yuuzhan Vong origins. Mary didn't hesitate for a moment. She was far too familiar with things hunting her. And for too experienced with fighting for her life. Whatever that big brute was, it ate meat. And it had obviously already noticed them. Mary had nearly a decade of life or death fights with the various beasts that hid in the dark deep under the city of coruscant. Once something got the scent like this, the only options were kill it or hide. And the open terrain they had just crossed through didn't have any good hiding spots. Mary had been watching for any as routine habit.
Her carbine had stayed in a low ready position for the entire trip. Something about this place put her on edge, though she couldn't say why. When the beast roared again, the crimson barrel swiveled smoothly into a fully tucked in position against her shoulder. The 9118 heavy carbine was a loud weapon even in the original configuration. Gar's Tooth had been heavily modified and tinkered with for the better part of two decades as Mary customized and improved it. Her thumb smoothly found the controls sunk into the grip, cranking the power output to maximum and the fire rate to full repeating. Gleaming letters of gold filigree caught the weak rays of sun as the cut down barrel tracked onto the target. The letters spelling out "Speak with Authority". She pulled the trigger.
BBBBBVIPIPIPIPIPIPIPIPIPIPIPIP
The over pressure from the sheer noise of the weapon caused Mary's cloak to snap back as if suddenly caught in a stiff breeze. Dust and small pebbles around her feet danced as the electric buzzsaw of sound hammered it. And that was nothing compared to the nearly solid bar of hammered plasma that the weapon hosed down range. At full output, the oversized power block only had enough charge for fifty shots. Each of which could seriously damage most personal vehicles. And at full repeating those fifty shots took less than ten seconds. As the last bolt was fired, the custom rotary chamber built into the body of the weapon spun with a whir-click as it ejected the spent power block and slotted the next smoothly into position.

Dar'Toral had come far in his life. Traveled the galaxy's breadth in search of knowledge and the will of the force. From a prince of Coyn, to mercenary, to elite Kroyn of his own brother, to studying with Master K'Mogh as a jedi, and finally departing from the jedi as a Wayseeker. The Order had grown stagnant, too tied in with the games of power the galaxy's factions played. So, with master K'Mogh's blessing, he had chosen to become a wayseeker. In the years since he had left Master K'Mogh, he had taken the Barash vow, traveled Jedha to learn from the members of the Convocation of the Force, and had even gone to Tund to learn from the Sorcerers there. Every lesson he learned painted a picture of the Force as endless in its complexity and potential, and so he knew he could not return to the narrow image of the Jedi.
Now, he had finally come to Korriban, eager to uncover knowledge and techniques left by the ancient sorcerer-kings of the Sith. He had quietly followed his shipmates, being particularly interested in the Vong, whom he had always understood to be ferocious warriors and dead to the force, and yet she was peaceful and embraced it.
Such things are what made the quest all the more interesting. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations, the Force unifying all. Unfortunately, Including the Leviathan. At contact with the beast, Dar'Toral let himself fall into the Force. Over the course of his life, his experience of the Force had grown and evolved. In his youth he saw it as the edge of a sat'skar, overcoming all. But now he saw experienced it as an ancient tome, with all the knowledge of the galaxy in its pages."I will draw it's attention." He said simply, in his deep resonant voice. He reached out to the beast's mind, and shot forth in blaze of force assisted speed, drawing his viridian bladed lightsaber, with it's hilt a copy of the traditional sat'skar of his people, his green armor a blur. Touching the beast's mind, he tried to inflame it's rage, which was quite simple, and also to direct it's rage toward him, which took a little more effort. He saw it focus on him, and he allowed himself a smile, darting in to score a light goading blow, before dashing back. "When he chases, lay on."

Mira's pink mqaaq'it widened in horror. That horror, however, was not directed at the monstrous creature, but at what she perceived to be Mary's monstrous actions. Her newly assigned padawan had not even hesitated, immediately drawing her weapon and beginning to fire on the beast, a beast that perhaps had more right to be here than they did. The Master Shaper had not had the opportunity yet to study the ecology of Korriban, but it seemed from her perception that they had stumbled upon one of the planet's apex predators in the midst of a hunt, where its aggression levels were likely to be high. If anything, the three of them (including Dar'Toral), had intruded on the creature's lunch. It didn't seem right that they should now harm or kill the beast, that was simply acting on its natural instincts. She cupped her mouth with her mismatched hands as Mary was reloading, hoping her words reached the padawan over the beast's enraged roar."Mary, please!" Exclaimed Mira, rising to stand defiantly even as their coynite companion inflamed the beast's passions and drew his lightsaber. "No killing." Said the Jedi Knight, her cracking voice becoming more resolute, even as fear gripped her as the Leviathan began to charge in their direction. "You too, Dar. We must...find another way." There was always another option. Maybe not the easiest way to do things, but sometimes doing what was right meant also doing what was hard.Touching her shaping hand to the breast of her oozhith gown, she triggered the hidden reflex in the symbiotic garment, causing the fleshy layer of second skin to stretch across the surface of her body and swallow the Master Shaper completely. Mira's lanky form seemed to shimmer in and out of reality as the biot was revealed to be a Cloak of Nuun, an organic bodysuit covered in photosensitive bacteria that rendered a flawless image of the background she was moving against. A bio-engineering savant, the Master Shaper's outfit even masked her scent and ambient body temperature, effectively transforming her into a ghost. As the Leviathan charged, she mustered her own courage and ran towards it, diving into a roll that carried her between its powerful muscular legs, using the momentum of her forwards tumble to propel her back to her feet. She arrived at the remainder of the beast's latest meal about the time it would have reached the Prince of Coyn, her mqaaq'it flickering back and forth as she studied the scene of carnage, analyzing the remains of the Terentatek. Kneeling down, she plunged a shaping digit into the cadavers hide and performed a quick bio-molecular scan of the prey's DNA.! Mira smiled. She had an idea.

She had expected more effect, but the blazing wash of plasma across the beasts face seemed to do little more than blind and hurt it momentarily. Even as the next cylinder automatically snapped into place though, a stranger rushed by her, charging in at the beast. She had never seen him before in her life, but at the same time, seemed to remember him walking with them from the Tempest. It wouldn't be the first time the ship did something weird like that. But usually its weirdness involved making people vanish, not making new ones appear. Speaking of vanishing, Mira had done a fairly good job of that herself. Though not a perfect one, Mary's mask had a wide range of special features and systems, and while Mira had vanished even to most of the mask's sensors, she was still physically present and solid. This meant that Mary's mask had a sonar bead on her, even if it was a surprisingly fuzzy bead.
More important though, was the fact the beast was not majorly hurt and was still heading straight for her and the new man. The new man that was now running the exact opposite direction with the beast hot on his heels.
-Mary Not good.
Mary took off running after Dar. She wasn't sure if the beast was chasing the man or her. But given that the man had passed close enough to encourage her to continue firing, it didn't seem to matter much. Obviously, this had not been well planned out. While the beast had a number of new pockmarked and bleeding craters in its massive face, none of the shots had actually hit an eye directly. Mary would either need to take more time to aim. Which didn't seem like a healthy thing to do just now. Or greatly increase the number of shots she took and hope for a lucky hit. Either way, running away wasn't going to be the answer.
She thumbed the power setting down to something more on par with a blaster pistol, rather than the blaster cannon level power it had been at. Given the compact size and cut down nature of the weapon, it was surprisingly effective even in close quarters. Using a small boulder to effectively crash to a stop and reverse her direction, she was suddenly running directly at the beast. She dodged a whipping tentacle that grasped at her, just as she flashed between the creature's legs. The Tooth Spoke again, much quieter this time. It has started pointing nearly directly upward, before sawing a stream of much weaker shots across the belly of the beast and down one heavy leg. When the barrel was pointed roughly at the knee of the beast, Mary triggered the under slung sonic wedge cannon built into the Tooth.
CRACK!
The sonic weapon was designed to batter down, crush, or kill anyone in a wide cone from the muzzle. Lethally effective in close quarters, and extremely useful in crowd control. If your definition of control includes death by ruptured organs. Of course, against a beast this size it was more like a hammer blow. The weaker blaster bolts carved a fresh trench of gore along the beast's hide, but it wasn't even deep enough to breach the skin, The blow to its knee however, caused the joint to snap with a dreadful sound. Mary, however, didn't wait to see her handy work. She simply kept running at full tilt, out and past the beast's tail. Or mostly. Just before she cleared it, the tail whipped back and caught her, flinging her like a discarded doll.

Dar'Toral had kept ahead of the beast, letting the others have clear shots, as he approached a wall he ran up it, hearing the Shaper's words. The huge sithspawn turned to avoid slamming it's head into the wall, stopping just short as Dar'Toral, wrapped in the Force shot off the wall and back toward the slain terentatek, hitting the ground in a flip next to Mira. As he landed the creature collapsed roaring in agony as it's knee was pulped by the Captain's shockingly powerful carbine.
Unfortunately, it's whipping tail caught the captain and sent her flying.
"This is a fell beast steeped in the dark side, not an innocent animal about it's business, but if you have a plan I'd I am open to it" Dar'Toral had released the force he had spun about himself in a massive push, trying to at least soften the captain's impact.

With a wet squelch, the Yuuzhan Vong extracted a syringe like digit from the pile of Terentatek carrion as her coynite companion performed a daring feat of airborne acrobatics, landing next to her. She grimaced as she watched Mary blow out one of the Leviathan's knees with her arsenal of murderous implements, her previously life as a Priestess of Yun-Ne'Shel at odds with the seemingly senseless violence she was witnessing. Those concerns faded and became something else altogether, however, as she watched the beast's tail catch her Padawan and send her flying through the air."Mary!" Mira cried out in dread as she watched Mary get sent flying, only turning her attention briefly to Dar'Toral as performed a feat of Force manipulation that appeared to slow the other woman's fall. Her worry over her padawan's current state was such that she barely registered the words he was speaking, her heart a flutter of emotion at odds with her brilliant mind. The creature was steeped in the darkside? Was that why Mary leapt to slaughter it at first glance? Did such a connection inherently make it wrong? The Master Shaper had many questions. With her limited understanding of the Force and complete lack of ability to perceive it, she was probably the last person to make judgements about the situation if what Dar'Toral said was accurate. According to the teachings of the Handmaidens of Yun-Ne'Shel, there were no bad creatures, only ones that were misunderstood. Did that put her faith at odds with the Jedi beliefs? The answer were not as clear as she would have hoped. A philosophical debate for later, she surmised, as she watched the Leviathan topple over after its wounded limb gave out beneath the weight of its massive body."I have one..." She said, considering the Terentatek sample she had taken. "...but I think it's no longer needed. I doubt the creature will be able to give chase with that wounded leg. Let's grab Mary and get inside the tomb before it recovers. It won't be able to follow us inside."Her body suit shimmered as she began to sprint towards where Mary had landed.
