The Dominion's society
The Military forcesDominion Troopers on Jabiim in full armour Even before the fall of the Triarchy and C'Thyl's reformation of the political system, the politics of the Dominion were mostly defined by it's military and police forces. Orienting themselves by the role model of the Galactic Empire and its successor states, the first Dominion military troops were trained quickly from the ranks of the Quarren warlord's soldiers by the rough ideals of Stormtroopers alongside other scum from the worker classes of the Quarren underwater cities.
Although the regular Dominion Trooper isn't necessarily rich, the funds which went into the military straight after the fall of the Galactic Alliance made the military career nontheless a lucrative job for food on a daily plate was guarenteed and so was monthly payment. The more lucrative side though is that despite the otherwise organized army structure corrupt actions were rewarded by the gouvernment. During the siege of Jabiim a good portion of Dominion troopers was allowed to sack the local villages with the order being granted by the Sorcerers.
While formerly the Quarren chieftains and warlords held command over the military, the actual commanders of the Quarren Military consist of Amphi-Hydrus and Sorcerers, who give their generals the main orders for upcoming battles.
Commanded by officers, platoons within the Dominion are structured like the ones of the Imperial army with a legion featuring 8,000 men, divided into four cohorts of 2,000 men. A single squad is usually 8 soldiers, wheras platoons of 16 soldiers are more likely to encounter on the Dominion's regular city patrols.
While the Dominion Troopers seem fairly organized, their mercenary counterparts from Abraxin and other worlds from which they were hired are far more unorganized, operating either in small groups up to 12 men or on a larger scale with 24+ member squads. Depending on whether a warlord was recruited by the Dominion it is not unlikely to encounter a garrison of hundred mercenaries within a Dominion-controlled town, featuring their own unique rank structure.
With droid reinforcements of Aquadroids and other mechanical horrors backing up the lines of the Dominion Troopers, any average soldier has the right to command a regular ground forces droid, if it doesn't recieve orders from a controllship or any other device, which would coordinate it in battle. Some droid classes like the Mechu-deru enhanced Ommog War droid though operate on their own and would only recieve orders from regular soldiers, if told so by High Command.
Similiar to the mechanical creations of the Prophet, the Dominion's Sithspawn in form of the Deep Ones and other monstrosities is technically in terms of ranks below the rank of higher ranked Dominion sergeants, yet in actual fights the Dominion Troopers don't bother too much with their primitive allies and just hope that they will rather gut out the limbs of their enemies rather than their own.
Although the regular military goon within the Quarren Dominion isn't aware of the Sorcerer's and Amphi-Hydrus force-sensitive abilities nor their darkside nature, the military forces are better informed about the actual state in which the Dominion is currently than the average citizen. Although it isn't a problem for most soldiers, as they benefit from their overlord's powers, the presence of a secret society of force users and their mutated pets atop the Quarren military has often resulted in officers and naval commanders to either get brainwashed, demoted or executed by their superiors, thus making way for more loyal individuals, which didn't bother on any morals nor whom they served as long as they guarenteed them their coin.
Carried by these ruthless inviduals it is thus no surprise, that the Quarren Dominion currently is having their own cloning programs in an attempt to create better loyalist forces, that would obey their commands without hesitation. Though currently Spaarti cylinders are utilized to create a maniac brute force for the next assaults upon Jedi worlds, other test tubes on Mon Calamari and Jabiim experiment with more stable trooper samples, based on the genomes of the Dominion's best soldiers.
The Naval forcesMC75 Star Cruiser of the Quarren Dominion engaging a Victory-class Star Destroyer Like the military forces within the Dominion, the Quarren Navy consisted of former captains, loyal towards the warlords or remnants from the Galactic Alliance who were either brainwashed or forced into duty, at first believing that the cause of the Quarren Dominion was a just one.
Several aspects of the Navy got reformed, when C'Thyl made a pact with the native Amphi-Hydrus in order to get this dark force user race into every area of Dac's society as the unseen puppet masters, who would controll everything.
Among the major sectors of command the Dominion Navy is a prefered career among the Amphi-Hydrus administrators, as they can utilize their mind-manipulating force abilities from a safe position in order to create a battle-meditated fleet, that has the potential to outmaneuver an otherwise equal opponent ship in battle. Most captains and bridge officers don't even know that the Amphi-Hydrus exist nor that they recieve commands from those toadlike aliens, which prefer usually to remain a grey eminence behind all these efforts. On some ships though the Amphi-Hydrus give directly orders towards loyal crew members, as the Dominion Navy trusts like the army only those, who would do anything for the Dominion that benefits them as well.
The Quarren Dominion possesses with the Mon Calamari Shipyards and the Pammant Dockyards two of the most influential shipyards among the eastern Outer Rim sectors, utilizing their capacities to their full potential. With the occupation of Abraxin and Jabiim, the mass production of larger Recusant-Class ships, known as the Recusant-Class Dominion Dreadnaught and the Interitus-Class Destroyer indicate the rough direction with what kind of vessels the Dominion wishes to subjugate the galaxy.
Following similiar principles like Palpatine did during the reign of his Dark Empire, the core of the Quarren Dominion's fleet consists of heavy dreadnaughts and Star Destroyer-sized ships in order to support the more massive Subjugator-line ships on their campaigns. Like the Empire the Quarren Dominion wishes to instill fear upon the sight of their fleets within the galaxy, while maintaining a focus on large battleships, supported by a swarm of smaller ships.
Most MC line ships within the Dominion serve as carrier ships for countless swarms of starfighters and dropships, while offering also a strong defense due to the nature of Mon Calamari shield engineering.
While spacefights with Dominion ships usually result in a more savage approach of naval warfare, the Dominion's tactics of making their opponents fear them also include boarding vessels in the form of dropships and Sabertooth-class assault vessels. Once these ships break through the shields of an enemy starship, a boarding party of Dominion troopers and mutated horrors begins to decimate the enemy crew from within, making it even tougher to counter these aggressive fleet tactics.
Overall the Dominion Navy can adapt to many strategies, making them an unpredictable foe within space battles as well.
The Dominion's administration and societyAn Amphi-Hydrus administrator With the Dominion formerly being a society in which the most influential warlords of the Quarren would hold the office of the Triarch, one among three equals, who would guide the Quarren nation into a glorious, expansive future, this structure has been mainly changed into the last remaining Triarch holding all the power, being backed up by the remaining warlords on paper solely.
To maintain this horrific dictatorship, where darkside users and other Sithspawn horrors could act unseen from the eyes of the regular being, the Prophet had installed the Amphi-Hydrus into the three main branches of a planet's gouvernment: The military, the navy and the administration.
Amphi-Hydrus within administrative positions and other manipulative cultists ensure that the local population is convinced of Triarch C'Thyl's will to protect them from the unknown threats, that have befallen Dac after the fall of the Galactic Alliance.
Most of this propaganda comes down to outside forces like the First Order being the cause of those recent monster sightings, forcing the Quarren military to also overtake police duties in order to keep its citizens safe.
At the same time the administrators also ensure that the regular middle-class and especially the lower-class population benefit from financial payments and offers like conscription into the armies, better paid job as slave overseers and other boni, that would make the regular individual not question the rightfulness of the Quarren Dominion as a true successor state towards the Galactic Alliance.
To fill the gaps, that would needed to be filled in order for the Dominion being capable of maintaining its military assets, the employment of slave workers from foreign worlds, which the Dominion raided is utilized in order to benefit the own citizens.
Those, who disobey the system are also likely to become slaves within the merciless wheels of the Dominion's production lines, thus allowing the Prophet also to get rid of any minor opposition before a rebellion can form up.
Most slaves of the Quarren Dominion come from foreign worlds like Hutt Space or from within the many star systems inbetween Mon Calamari, Jabiim, Lothal and Abraxin in order to keep the own population happy, while taking advantage from foreigners, who neither know the gouvernment or aren't aware of how they could possibly attack it by its weakpoints.
The slave trade between Hutt Space and the Quarren Dominion has become even more lucrative after the First Order's abolishment of slavery within the First Order's territory, re-routing most of the trade either towards Mon Calamari and it's loyal subjects directly or to the Solenbaran Diarchy, where the Quarren Dominion can guarentee the slavers free passage through their territory for the right prize.
Some cloning projects of the Dominion even tend to focus on cloning additional slaves for the workforce, should the capacities not be filled properly.
Thus the economy of the Quarren Dominion is slightly stable, although the worth of Calamari Flans has decreased in comparison to the Imperial Credits after the fall of the Galactic Alliance. Though not a backwater world, C'Thyl's ambitions to somewhat maintain a financial balance while indebting the state require the means of massive wars in order to justify the tremendous costs of the Sorcerer's projects.
It is thus no surprise that future attacks of the cultists might also target the banks and stock markets of the galaxy in order to maintain the Dominion, while at the same time bringing more turmoil into the galaxy.
