Harnan smiled, looking relieved almost. He had felt the shift in the Force as Jin opened herself to the Force more and sought out Fiora's presence. Now it would indeed bind her to her word. He picked up his helmet then and slid it back into placeCongratulations Jin, you're a Knight of the Tribune. Which means you don't answer to me anymore. Harnan, or Lord Ren, will be just fine... Good luck, and may the Force be with you...He turned and left the training room, leaving Jin to process the implications of what he had just said. While Fiora was a Knight of Ren, The Tribune was Fiora's own unit and fell outside of Harnan's command, as intended Jin took her time thinking. It was late, and although she had slept a good bit, her internal clock was still off. She no longer answered to Harnan? That was a... That was new. Now it seemed she only answered to Fiora. Jin finished cleaning up the training room and decided she may as well heed the last command Harnan had given and seek out her mentor, Neith. Leaving the room, she quickly and quietly arrived at her room. Silently she slipped in and changed out of her training gear and back into her Ren robes. Jin took the moment to check on Fiora who appeared to still be sound asleep. Once satisfied her friend was comfortable she, again silently, slipped out of her room and started seeking Neith. Using the Force, she sought out the Ren who had taught her. Coming around the corner, she spotted Neith having some sort of confrontation with another Ren. Jin wasn't familiar with the other but slowly approached. Somewhat curious about what was going on. The young woman wouldn't interject herself into the conversation, but would wait to be addressed, if at all.

Katsumi was as stubborn as ever, which was perhaps what made her a good Ren. Despite her warnings and ominous threats, Neith was not about to just turn tail and run at this stage. She'd given her word to the Master of the Ren to assist her sister in what ever task she sought to go on. The point of no return had long since passed You are mistaken to believe I am not aware of what I do. We are Ren, sister. Family... As if on cue, Neith sensed the approach of Jin just a few moments before seeing the girl she was certain had been promoted out of Squireship We look out for one another, besides, two pairs of hands are better than one for dealing with threats. But better than two, is three... Neith motioned for Jin to come closer still to the pair. Katsumi might have simply dodged Neith alone, but with Jin as well, such a task would be more complex. It would be nice to go on one final 'training' mission with her student, before they parted ways I think it would be perfect for Jin to see one of our greatest warriors in action. Besides, if either one of us dies, she'll be there to help finish this threat you speak of...

Katsumi nods to Jin when Neith, after arguing rather persuasively that she knows precisely what she is doing when insisting that she join in on the hunt the Shadow has set before Katsumi, motions for the young woman to join them. Perhaps, Katsumi thinks in light of what has transpired, the Shadow had not meant for her to hunt alone this time; the thought is as much comforting as it is, given that Katsumi had focused her efforts on following the precognitive strands of the web they will tread along together now that she would have scuttled along alone, mildly distressing now that she and her siblings will be walking the web in the relative darkness that walking into the unknown requires that they navigate.
Clearly abandoning all thoughts of trying to scurry away to face the unknown alone, Katsumi says in a more concise way than is her usual manner of communicating with her siblings in light of the fact that Jin is unfamiliar to her, ::Very well. The Shadow has made me aware of three targets, but has shown me only two. One of the two will know where the third can be found.:: Eliminating the two initial targets without alerting the third will be, Katsumi thinks with appreciation of the Shadow's design in having her siblings join her for this hunt, far easier now that she need not act alone; though Neith has espoused a desire for Jin to see Katsumi in action, it seems a better plan for them to divide their forces for now, with Katsumi handling one target while Neith and Jin deal with the second.
Tilting her head to the side at an inquisitive angle, Katsumi, addressing Neith as much as Jin, asks, ::Would you rather hunt a smuggler or a former Resistance officer, sisters? Those are our first targets. I propose we separate for now, for if we can learn what the first two know and eliminate them swiftly enough, we can then stalk and kill the third target together before they are any wiser, thereby putting an end to the threat the Shadow has warned us of.::

She would be sure to thank Jin later for her timely arrival. Indeed, Neith was quite certain Katsumi would have gone off and never be heard from again. But such a fate had now been adjusted in its course and Katsumi now seemed accepting of this fate. She listened as her sister then laid out the details about the mission at hand: two targets to seek out and question about the whereabouts of a third conspirator. She turned slightly toward Jin, regarding her former pupil The smuggler is probably our best target. We've dealt with a few of them in the past...

Katsumi, in full-on briefing mode now that things have settled onto the course that now seems almost preordained to have been settled on, nods when Neith indicates a preference to handle the smuggler. Her voice business-like and devoid of her usual animation or quirks, Katsumi takes her borrowed datapad from a pocket of her borrowed ankle length tactical hooded jacket, Katsumi motions for Neith and Jin to come closer as she sets the device on a conveniently sized and situated crate and opens up a file containing the intelligence she had gathered on the smuggler her sisters will be hunting. Bringing up a Coruscant Security Force mug shot of a surly looking blonde haired human male that appears to be in his mid thirties, Katsumi says, ::Meet Fumnanya Jang, captain of the Geheim Masjien, a YT-2400 light freighter. Available records show Jang is a native Corellian, but digging deeper suggests that is as artificial as his blonde hair. The Geheim Masjien has been in operation with other crews, under Jang's command, for over forty years. I believe he's an Epicanthix, she points to Jang's eyes after enlarging the image, which upon close inspection appear to have been surgically altered to remove the distinctive epicanthic folds that would make identifying his true origins easier. Explaining the significance of her finding, Katsumi points out, Jang will, in all probability, be able to resist any telepathic attempts to wrest the information we need from his mind. We need to know what he knows, whether that is the identity of the third target or the location of the threat itself, so you'll need to resort to other means to gain that information before you eliminate him.::
Pausing to let Jin and Neith absorb what she has said thusfar, Katsumi continues a moment later, bringing up a series of additional mug shots as she introduces her sisters to Jang's crew, ::Jang's crew are never far from him, and have demonstrated the loyalty and camaraderie one would expect from a band of smugglers that have worked together for several years. Tapping the first mug shot, an attractive, pale skinned red haired humanoid woman in her early thirties who has a stoic expression, Katsumi says, Dikeledi Balewa, Jang's first mate and co-pilot. The name is an alias, but I matched her face to First Order military files. Balewa was a Scout Trooper, sniper trained. Deserted for reasons unknown. The next image is of a sarcastically grinning diminutive brunette woman in her late twenties with chin length hair and a pair of large black spectacles, and Katsumi says, Vejide. The crew's mechanic, and a former enforcer for a spice smuggling cartel on Tatooine. Scrapper, by all accounts, not to be underestimated. The next mug shot is of a thin, bearded humanoid male in his early forties who has the dazed expression and pinpoint pupils of an addict that had obviously recently fixed, Nkosana, the crew's splicer. Former Sector Ranger, of all things. Got too into his undercover identity as a spice user, wound up working with Jang. Dangerous, by all accounts, when not on spice. The final image is of a brown furred male Bothan in his late forties with a haughty expression, Doctor Sango Dimka. Disgraced doctor, got addicted to painkillers and found his way onto Jang's crew. Pacifist. No threat.::
Closing the file, Katsumi tells Neith, ::I'll send you the files, sister. In brief, Jang and his crew quite competently smuggle spice for organizations on Ryloth and Tatooine, and have demonstrated on more than one occasion exceptional combat readiness and prowess. Ryloth seems to be their regular base of operation, so I believe you'll find him there. He's the only member of the crew you need to eliminate. The rest of his crew, the Shadow has shown me, are no threat without Jang. Questions, sisters?::

It had been a bit over a week since her ability to shapeshift had surfaced in her training with Harnan. Despite some initial panics with her form changes, the rest of the week had gone by without further incident. She had laid low, spending much of her time hidden away in Jin's room and not straying far from her best friend's side for fear of another uncontrolled change.
But Fiora knew she couldn't keep living like that. And thanks to the item that Faina had gifted her just yesterday, she wouldn't have to for much longer.
It was still early in the morning as she made her way through the Citadel to the training rooms. Purge Troopers were doing their patrols and changing guard duties, whilst giving a salute as she passed by and entered into one of the training rooms. She entered her authorization code in and set the room to meditation chamber mode. Door locks engaged and privacy shutters activated on the observation windows, creating a safe room which only Harnan could override and get inside of.
Fiora wanted to be alone and uninterrupted as she sat down in the center of the room and unwrapped the blue and grey pyramid shaped holocron. She needed to focus only upon what Kortos had to teach and if anything should happen, Harnan was the only one she would want to come find her, since Jin was otherwise engaged on a mission. All Fiora knew was that her Best Friend had been granted position as a Knight of the Tribune, before going off with Neith and Katsumi to deal with some threat.
She studied the holocron as it sat on the floor atop the cloth wrapping she kept it in. The guardian of the Holocron had promised it could teach her how to control her powers, but she still had some reservations. She'd studied Kortos' records with the First Order, showing his time with the Imperial Knights and a little bit about his time with the Jedi Order. In truth, his mission with Harnan stood out as unexplainable. Nothing about his past indicated any connection to her birth mother. Though, that was likely intentional all things considered.
She reached out her hand and directed the flow of the Force through the Holocron, activating the mechanism. The Holocron shifted about as its pieces clicked into their activated position and the projection of Kortos took shape. He sat on the floor opposite her in a cross legged position, mimicking her own. Despite being a program, Kortos seemed to be sitting in silent meditation, opening his eyes as she lifted her gaze to his face Lady Ren... Are you ready to begin your training?
I am, but first...
You have a great deal of questions, I am sure. I'm afraid they cannot all be answered, and some... well... some should remain unasked. Some things about the past are best left buried... But what is it you wish to know?

There were so many questions she wanted to ask, so many things she wanted to know about. Things that she was certain he could answer about the past and, perhaps, about the future. But his cautionary warning about some things that should remain unasked dampened some of her mood. She would just have to probe around and figure out just what exactly he was willing to reveal to her. Perhaps he might even accidentally reveal answers without meaning to by answering other questions How did you come to join the Imperial Knights? You claim to know my mother, but she was a Knight of Ren...
I met and knew her long before she became a Ren... Quite a few decades have passed since then... As for how I joined the Imperial Knights? Well... I was serving with the Jedi Order on Dantooine for a number of years when the First Order was still in its formative phase in Imperial Space. I was there during the invasion, when the First Order announced its existence to the Galaxy. I was captured at the Jedi Enclave and spent several months as a prisoner of the First Order. It wasn't until the Galactic Alliance tried to kill me, and failed, that I was finally brought before your Father, the then Supreme Commander freshly turned Emperor. I pledged myself to serve your Father as an Imperial Knight, having seen what the future held if the Dark should overpower the Light... However, such scales have shifted and changed a lot since I received that vision and made my choice. Even before my death, the Sith had turned against the First Order, and given my last update was before I went off to help Harnan kill the Master of the Ren, I can only assume the mission was a success? Very little talk had really occurred following Harnan's disappearance and then reappearance a few days later. Most people hadn't even really noted his absence, since he had rather regularly come and gone from Muunilinst. But Fiora had noticed his absence and felt the disturbance in the Force coupled with the nightmare she'd had. No one had even really noticed the shift in the Ren dynamic when Soku had been made Master of the Ren. Most had just assumed Soku was in charge already. Even when Harnan succeeded Soku as Master, few heads had been turned. Fiora had been too nervous to ask Harnan about any of it, despite her lingering curiosity. What ever had happened on that trip and had lead up to it were not events she fancied him wanting to recount Soku took charge of the Ren around when your Death was made known. Harnan become Master of the Ren a couple years later and took me on as his Squire... He's the only person alive who knows what happened...
Indeed. I can only speculate as to what happened, but what we did, the sacrifice I made... was necessary for your safety. I had no regrets then and I certainly have none now, Lady Ren... We should begin your training, was there anything else you wished to ask me?

It was weird to learn from a clone of someone's consciousness that they had sacrificed their life for your safety. Fiora's hand fell across her mouth as she took in the revelation and tried to process it. She hadn't really known Kortos in life, knowing him more in passing as an Imperial Knight, which made this all the more confusing for her. Harnan she could understand, she had spent years training with him and had seen glimpses of his life before. His willingness to sacrifice and fight for her made sense. There was more to this that she needed to know. She lowered her hand from her face and met Kortos' gaze Why?
Why what...
Why sacrifice yourself for me? The Knights of Ren and the Imperial Knights have never been on good terms, and Harnan is... well... Harnan. He wouldn't have just turned to you on a whim... The projected image of Kortos moved his hand up under his chin, almost as if he was thinking for a moment. Considering the answer to Fiora's question and processing how much of it was safe to recount Yes, I suppose that is a rather accurate... The short answer is that there was plenty of reason for me to do so. I was a Shi'ido, I lived quite a long life by the time you were born. I'd been on more adventures than a dozen humans could ever hope to accomplish... Not to mention that Human-Shi'ido hybrid's are much rarer than anything else in existence. You and your brother are the first two in millennia that have been born... But even putting that aside, I met your Mother many years ago, long before the First Order existed, even before the rise of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Palpatine... We were close back then... Despite the years that passed, when I found her with the First Order and the Knights of Ren she was still very much the same person as she was then... She told me of the visions she had about your fate and that of Harnan. I knew I could not sit idle by when Harnan approached me a few years later. The Master of the Ren was a growing evil, and I was not going to consign you to such a fate. He would have taken everything good about you and turned it to darkness... We might not have met much before I died, but you were her daughter, and I considered you and your brother as family the same as her. Do not feel bad, Fiora Ren. There was little more I had left to do in life. But my death achieved a great deal... We should begin your training, was there anything else you wished to ask me?

There was a lot of information to process as Kortos' projection dumped a lot of detail on her. She listened, processed, and quickly picked out the most important details she needed to ask about. She suspected she was starting to get dangerously close to information the Holocron wouldn't know or wouldn't divulge to her regarding Kortos' final moments and the death of the former Master of the Ren Why would Harnan turn to you for aid?
While I was an Imperial Knight, he knew me... Knew he could trust me... When you're dealing with an enemy that is powerful and close to you, you must look abroad to find allies. The enemy of my enemy, is my friend. He approached myself and Valance, a Knight of Zakuul, to help in his conspiracy. He knew neither of us answered to the Spectre we would be facing. My link and history with your Mother were well known to him. That is why he turned to me for aid...
And what of me and my brother? You said we were the first hybrids in millennia?
Shi'ido biology is complex and unique. A pure blood can transform into anything of any shape or size. From massive Space Whales, all the way down to something as mundane seeming as a dagger. What ever you can see and imagine, a Shi'ido could take its form. And while a DNA sample taken from a Shi'ido would look like the original, it is only a mimicry. Genetically they are incompatible with nearly every species but their own... Except under very rare circumstances. Over the generations, Shi'ido have experimented with cross breeding. Often with unsuccessful results. But every once in a while, a breakthrough would be stumbled upon. Such knowledge was kept well guarded and passed down through the ages. Your Mother used that knowledge to give birth to you and your brother...
And what makes you think you can help me control my powers? You said it yourself, hybrids are exceptional circumstances...
But our powers are the same. The ability to shift shape are fundamental building blocks of the Shi'ido species. A hybrid is just... limited as to their extent of their powers. Much like the Force, your shapeshifting skills require time and practice to master. You will never be able to shift your body the same as a Shi'ido, but there is still a great deal of changes you will be able to make... With that in mind, we would be wise to begin your training sooner than later. There is much to teach you to ensure you stay in control of them... Fiora still had a great deal of questions left. Things she wanted to probe further into and find out. But Kortos was right. She needed to start her training if she wanted to control her powers before they grew out of hand and controlled her, instead of her controlling them. She gave a solemn nod then Yes, you are right... Please begin the training... She listened then, as Kortos began the training routine. There would be much more time ahead for her to ask her questions and learn from Kortos things that Harnan was not particularly forth coming about

The following hours were spent with the projection of Kortos delivering talks about Shi'ido physiology and history. Thus providing Fiora some knowledge about the people she was apart of. From there, she learned a number of techniques to focus her powers. The ensuing days and weeks were filled with reinforcement of those initial lessons. It was not an easy process, nor a fast one. Shi'ido were raised from birth how to control their shapeshifting, Fiora had to play catch up for those missed years. Something which the projection of Kortos was very patient about. Fiora still had no real clue just how old Kortos had been before he died, but it was long enough for him to have become incredibly patient.
Sure, some could argue that the projection she interacted with was little more than a program. But Guardians of Holocrons were much more than that. They were a copy of a persons consciousness. An imprint of who the creator of the Holocron was. Kortos could still feel and exhibit emotions just like any living thing. He could be strict and disciplinary when needed just as easily as he could be understanding and caring. There were few days in which she did not spend time with the Holocron. For the most part she trained as she was supposed to. But there were some days in which she just sat and talked with Kortos. On those days, he did not push her to begin their training, but instead spoke to her of what he knew and could tell her.
As their lessons together progressed by, Fiora began to slowly gain more and more control of her powers. The failures were steadily growing fewer and further between. She did spend a few days here and there with lasting effects from a days lesson. The extent of which was typically just an altered skin or hair colour, or a change in the shape of her eyes or nose. She spent those days clad in her armour when outside of her room or the training facility to hide the failure. But Kortos was able to guide her through correcting the mistakes.
In a matter of months, Fiora was beginning to master the basics of shapeshifting and making alterations to her appearance. But despite her ability to look like someone else, she still always returned to her own look. A "resting" state so to speak.
Once she had mastered the basics, her training soon turned to safely exploring the limitations of her powers. Her hybridity meant that her ability to shift shape were constrained in ways Shi'ido were not. And to avoid unnecessary risk and problems in the future, it was better to test her limitations in a controlled environment

Changing of the Guard
The Weeks passed into Months rather quickly from the moment in which Fiora had been granted her command of the Magistra and all that had come with it. She had rotated in her own chosen crew with the help of Captain Estoll, and found the limits of the Magistra. The 19th Company of Purge Troopers had become a respected unit within the Knights of Ren and were approaching the 1st Legion's fame across the First Order, turned Galactic Empire. But the most important matter of all, was the training of the Ren Squires that made up her Conquest Flight. Harnan had charged her with the training of 4 students that had pledged themselves to the Ren cause.
While it had been a daunting task at first, Fiora had pushed through the discomfort and created a balanced schedule which gave each Squire individual sessions as well as group sessions. While they would need to perform alone, Fiora also wanted to instil a sense of team work to ensure they worked together well when needed. It was one of these group exercises, that Fiora was in the middle of conducting at present as the quartet of Ren Squires came at her with blades drawn. Spacial awareness would be crucial for them in tight quarters to make sure they didn't strike or interfere with one another

The arrival of the warship, Progenitor, one of the Emperor's personal vessels, escorted by a pair of Vindicator-class Heavy Cruisers, hardly raised any alarms over the planet of Prakith. It was routine for vessels of the Pax Imperialis Squadron to patrol Core and Deep Core territories from time to time. However, things certainly changed when the credentials of the Grand Marshal were flashed before orbital security. When inquired, Baltasar simply said that he was coming to see the Princess Fiora. Another indication that this was the deal, best not to get in the way. The Knights of Ren certainly had extraordinary powers and authority, thanks to the Emperor, but when the Grand Marshal, an uncle of Fiora, came, best not to get in the way.
His arrival to the Citadel came with more than himself. A company of the 501st Legion landed with him, securing the perimeters and following him inside to where his niece was. A clutch of Imperial agents monitored communications from the Progenitor in orbit. Everything was being carefully monitored and done as Baltasar came to see Fiora. Yet, this was obviously not a family visit when he appeared in full uniform, even wearing his military cap. Something rarely done.
=Baltasar= Princess Fiora.
He snaps to attention, causing the Stormtroopers behind him to do the same. Formalities were performed without hesitation.
=Baltasar= At your father's request, you are to return to Coruscant immediately.
Not in the presence of other Ren would Baltasar state why. Thanks to the training that him, Nicademus, and Azria received as youths by a relatively unnamed Sith, his mental barriers would likely come in handy this day. He suspected eavesdroppers and sniffing dogs would come soon enough when they heard who had arrived.

Changing of the Guard
She had sensed a shift in the Force as the Progenitor had settled into orbit and her Uncle had made his way to the surface of Prakith. The mood of the Purge Troopers had shifted as the 501st Legion had landed and secured the perimeter of the Citadel. As far as they were concerned, this was Ren territory and the Emperor's personal Legion had no business here. They were more than enough protection, given they had helped guard the Princess for the last several years. But despite their resentment toward the 501st, they allowed the Grand Marshal and his guards through.
As her Uncle's presence drew closer and closer to the training room, she blocked a combined attack from her Squires, before knocking them back and calling an end to the training session. Her visored gaze turned to the doors as Baltasar strode in wearing full military attire and addressed her by her formal title. She deactivated the dual blades as her Uncle stated that she was to return to Coruscant immediately by her Father's request. No, not a request, an order.
She had sensed his failing condition, and her visions had given her glimpses of the future. Glimpses which had not boded well for her Father. But now, finally, those visions were no longer premonitions of things to come, but of things happening now.
She stayed standing still for a moment, composing herself as she drew upon the Force to steel her will. She was not going to falter, not in front of them all. If she let the slightest bit of her feelings through, the flood gates would burst Very well Grand Marshal Delvardus... She slowly clipped her saber hilt back upon her belt as she straightened up further and strode toward her Uncle. Pausing only to turn toward Hestia Inform Captain Estoll that she is to depart with the Magistra to Coruscant. I will meet you all there... She wasn't entirely sure what this was about, despite her suspicions, but her Uncle's demeanour gave her the sense it was not an invite to the other Ren to join her. Hestia gave a nod of understanding before corralling the other three Squires out of the training room to get changed and head up to the Magistra. The Tribune Guard, meanwhile, fell in behind Fiora. Wherever she went, they would go.
Fiora motioned toward the doors After you, Grand Marshal... Formalities would be what would get her through these next few moments until she was upon Coruscant and provided with answers she did not currently have

Baltasar glanced at the two Squires she was fighting with and then at this new unit that he had heard about, the Tribune Guard. Just like Octavian, Fiora was gathering about her own cadre of supporters and companions. To be honest, the Grand Marshal did not approve of the Tribune Guard joining them, but to remark otherwise would draw further suspicions. Imperial Intelligence had been ardent in ensuring all of this went smoothly and without an issue. The Knights of Ren did not need to know about what was going on. At least the greater portion of them.
The Grand Marshal looked at the Princess Fiora for a time before nodding his head slightly. Once they began to walk, falling into line, Baltasar motioned to Fiora to join him at his side as they headed back for the transports waiting outside. Only when they cleared the interior did he speak in a low tone.
=Baltasar= Your brother should be returning to Coruscant ahead of us. I will have no one disturb you on our return to the capital.
He would not say anything further afterward.

Changing of the Guard
While his deeper thoughts were guarded and walled off, which would require effort to break through, his dislike of of her Tribune Guard was a much more surface level impressions and easier to read. Not that Fiora let it affect her. Her Uncle was a cautious man and despite his love for her, he had never truly approved of the Ren. But she was glad at least that what ever was happening, was more important than arguing.
She increased her pace a little and joined her Uncle's side, while her Guards stayed back in procession with the Stormtroopers. They knew when they were needed and when to hang back and provide Fiora the space she needed. And this moment was much more of the latter as she followed alongside Baltasar into the Transport, where he finally spoke again. She gave a nod of her head Thank you... Uncle... While she had questions, she knew better than to push her Uncle. Instead, she found a corner of the transport to settle into while her Guards drew up around her

As soon as the Progenitor had arrived in system, he had been alerted to its presence. Something which in and of itself was not unusual, but the presence of Baltasar Delvardus had certainly piqued his interest. His standing orders were always to allow the Royal Family through when they visited, so he had no need to give further orders. Instead, he kept watch from the security room as the Emperor's Brother arrived down to the Citadel and collected Fiora unaccosted. Had it been before his rise as Master of the Ren, he absolutely would have made his presence known and demanded answers.
But he had other methods and means to do so. A message was sent off to Silas to ascertain the reason for Baltasar's visit to Prakith. Meanwhile, he headed out of the security center and aided the quartet of Ren Squires with gathering their belongings and departing Prakith as fast and with as much ease as possible. While he was not as proficient in the ethereal aspects of the Force as Fiora and Neith, he could still feel a shift within it

Despite the Emperor's and Imperial Intelligence's best efforts otherwise, word of Nicademus' impending demise had reached the ears of the Master of the Ren. Silas' Magisterium had leveraged assets and connections across the Empire to confirm what Harnan had suspected from the moment that Baltasar had arrived to take Fiora away to Coruscant. As soon as the confirmation had arrived, plans were set in motion which had been prepared slowly but surely over the years. Pieces were moving into place and all that they awaited was the final confirmation.
Harnan had wrapped up a training session with Zanah, his apprentice from since before Fiora had been brought into the Ren, and was heading for his quarters when he felt a ripple within the Force. He stumbled a little as he was distracted by the disturbance but managed to catch himself against the wall. There were few things that could be heralded by such a shift. But he was quite certain of what this particular one meant. He shook himself off and opened a video link to Silas It's time... Overshadow is cleared for commencement...

The small holographic image of Silas appeared, listened, and then gave a bow in response. Much like Harnan, he had sensed the death of the Emperor of the First Order. His visions had told him the appointed time was nigh. And now, Operation: Overshadow was going to be launched. He'd had his reservations about this whole thing, but Harnan had been adamant about pursuing it. Silas had little choice but to obey As you command... The call was cut, allowing Silas to begin passing orders down the various command lines that needed to know them. Assets were activated across Imperial Space to start carrying out their own parts in the events yet to come

Few things bore Katsumi as much as trawling through data; but while she would prefer the battlefield or actively conducting espionage operations herself to sifting through intelligence reports, there are times she needs set personal preference aside in order to best serve the Ren. When Australis threatened to attempt to wrest Byss from the Ren by force it necessitated that Katsumi set her planned operation with Neith and Jin aside so that she aid in the defense of the world the Ren have come to call home, and so she had taken steps to divert and redirect their prey until such a time as they could stalk them; Jang's crew being employed through an intermediary to transport a few things here and there to occupy them, while the former Resistance Officer was offered a bit of intel through yet another intermediary that would almost certainly tempt him to focus elsewhere for a time, especially when Harnan had, at the time, been making signs of preparing to move the Ren's assets away from Byss.
After the Australis threat came to naught, Katsumi had lingered at first to ensure it was not a ploy to make the Ren lower their guard, and then to take advantage of the opportunity, with Jang and the Resistance Officer still reportedly occupied with her distractions and diversions, to tend a bit more to Harnan's request that she look into the Obsidian Order. Given that, on the surface of things, the Obsidian Order and it's Arch-Mage, Silas Darkstar, were allied with the Ren, Katsumi needed to move carefully; hence sifting data rather than something more direct, and hence why, for nearly a week, she had not been wandering or skulking about as she would prefer, and has been, instead, ensconced alone in her quarters.
Limiting herself to intelligence reports from the Obsidian Order made to the Ren would skew the dataset, but Katsumi found that acceptable given it meant she did not court the risks attempting to hack into the Obsidian Order's own systems would entail. Using Ren and her ISB intelligence assets or reports from them to meticulously back check and verify the Obsidian Order's information, Katsumi has thusfar been able to detect no false reports that might suggest the Darkstar is attempting to employ disinformation, and has noted no obvious gaps in their intelligence information that, when compared to that gathered by the Ren or ISB, suggest Darkstar might be deliberately withholding information from the Ren.
Katsumi has just completed her preliminary analysis report, that the Obsidian Order appears to be conducting their affairs with the Ren in an aboveboard fashion from what she has investigated thusfar, and sent it to Harnan along with her assertion that delving deeper into the matter would require a more direct operation, with all of the risks necessarily entailed, when she becomes aware of a susurrus from the Shadow, apprising her of a tremendous change that will ripple outwards for sometime and in wildly unpredictable ways. The change, Katsumi soon learns after diving into the currents of the Shadow to divine the source of the chaotic rippling, is the death of the Emperor. The Emperor was nothing to her, Katsumi's loyalty to the Ren absolute, and so she does not mourn his passing, nor let it distract her from trying to catch what glimpses of the possible futures she can as she allows the waves of the Shadow to rise and fall, carrying her along until they at last wash her back to the shore of the present, casting her from her trance.
Remaining seated on the floor of her quarters, eyes closed beneath her skull-like helm, Katsumi sifts through the bits and pieces of possible futures she had seen, attempting to divine what she can from them.

Of all the possible futures yet ahead, Katsumi would find few in which peace was prevalent over the coming months and years. Those more abundant in events foretold of war and death. Fleets and armies clashing across Imperial held territory, but neither side would appear as a foreign force. Stormtrooper against Stormtrooper. Star Destroyer against Star Destroyer. And at the centre of it all, Red against Black, wielding blades of Silver and Red plasma. Many paths existed from each moment, as different plans were enacted at different moments. War. Death. Destruction
As Silas hung up the call, Harnan continued on his way to his private office. It was all good and well to have a Throne, but it did make private work a little difficult to do. Thus he passed the chair by within the Main Hall and headed into the office just off to the side. He took a seat just as the report from Katsumi arrived regarding the Darkstar. At this stage, a lot rode on the man. Thankfully, Katsumi's report seemed to back this assertion that Silas was indeed committed to the Ren as his new Masters. There was a great number of plans that relied upon the man, and betrayal could prove quite problematic to the future. But he was certain Silas would meet an unfortunate end at the hands of Katsumi should he indeed start to prove untrustworthy
