Having acquired a taste for Cassius tea while visiting with their Mandalorian allies on Agamar, Faina pours herself a cup of the beverage after getting a glass of water for Annelise and a cup of caffa for Nicolina, and then takes a seat. Sipping her tea as she listens to Annelise explaining that she had not been expecting to be invited to the present meeting, Faina smiles in an understanding way, wondering whether the protest and uncertainty that Annelise expresses afterwards are genuine or instead simply a polite, subtle means of suggesting that she is not open or able to act as a temporary aide for Faina. With no way to know which is the case, Faina is left with the question of how to proceed with the meeting.
Gauging from the way Annelise has chosen to address her, which Faina feels indicates that the woman will be more comfortable if there is a more formal than informal tone to their interaction, Faina lets her more stoic nature take the foreground as she sets her tea down on a saucer and adjusts the strap of her left cortosis gauntlet, having elected to remain in her Imperial Knight armor rather than change into something more befitting her title as Queen given her preference to wear the armor as it is so intimately bound with her personal identity, and says in an even tone, "I appreciate your modesty, Miss Sitar, even though all that I have heard of your talents, she glances towards Nicolina, who grins in amusement and salutes Annelise with her cup of caffa, to indicate that the source of her intelligence is the Lt. Col., indicates it is not commensurate to either your experience or your ability. As for why I have chosen to reach out to you rather than someone else, she permits a small and very brief smile, surely that is my prerogative? Waving the small jest aside, never one to suggest that her reasons for making decisions are to be accepted without question, Faina explains succinctly in a dry tone, In brief, a situation has come up requiring that I step in temporarily as captain of a Star Destroyer, which is not a role I have assumed often enough that I am entirely at ease with it. A talented aide would be able to make the affair proceed more smoothly, which is what I believe you could do, in answer to your query. You would, should you agree to fill in as my aide, prepare any necessary itineraries for the duration of the mission, coordinate protocol activities, and assist in any social functions that might arise during the course of the mission; all tasks I imagine you are quite familiar with and adept in performing. The task the ship has been assigned is a somewhat time sensitive one, meaning the sooner I can set things in motion the better. I would prefer, rather than delay my departure to source and vet candidates for the position of aide, to trust the Lt. Col.'s estimation of your abilities is accurate and get things underway as expediently and efficiently as possible."
Lifting her cup of tea from its saucer and taking a sip, Faina allows a small smile to appear at the corner of her lips as, circling back to where she began, she asks Annelise with just the faintest note of humor permitted to bleed into her otherwise dry tone, "Now then, Miss Sitar, before I keep you from anything requiring your attention any longer, would you be available and willing to act as my aide for for, let us assume a maximum of seven days?"

Annelise was a little taken aback. Most of her work was done behind the scenes and in the shadows. Standash always showed her appreciation, in carrying ways. Annelise knew that one way was never public praise. Most of Annelise's skill came from her being underestimated, unnoticed, and quickly forgotten. If this Col knew these things about her, all of which were true, then she was someone worth learning more about. But for the request itself, she had the time. She was very good at training and building staff, and there were no large matters for her to plan for Standash. Others could run the day-to-day. Mostly, this would be a favor to the Empress from the Grand Moff. Your Highness, I will have to confirm with the Grand Moff, but there is nothing that would require my attention on her schedule for the rest of the month. Honestly, she has been encouraging me to do something new. Well, she said to relax, but she doesn't believe me when I say that planning and organizing relaxes me. I would be happy to assist you on this mission.

Faina, sipping her Cassius tea as Annelise replies to the question of whether or not she would be willing to lend her services for the duration of the mission Faina has been tasked with, nods in understanding when informed that Annelise, while happy herself to assist, would first need to check with Grand Moff Thule, unsurprised by the condition given that Nicolina had suggested as much when proposing that Annelise be considered for the role of her aide. Setting her teacup down, Faina says, "Very well then, Miss Sitar, let me know whether or not the Grand Moff can spare you for a short time once you've spoken to her."
Exchanging a brief look with Nicolina, who shrugs in a noncommittal way to convey that she is not able to predict whether or not Thule will give her consent to the proposed idea and then takes out her datapad and begins typing out a message Faina assumes is to contact the primary backup candidate for the position of her aide in the event Annelise proves to be unavailable, Faina says, "We will be setting out at 20:00 this evening to meet with the bridge crew before we depart, and I do hope that the Grand Moff gives her blessing for you to accompany us."

Annelise's data pad buzzes. She looks down and nods. She has given her approval. I sent her a message while we were talking. I am good at multitasking, and I do not need to watch what I am doing for accuracy. Please have the staff and crew list sent to my data pad. The schedules will be on your desk in three hours. Is there an office I can set up in? She was already fully in depth of the job. She was used to organizing things with only half the information. She didn't need to know the specifics of a mission, her job was to organize the people that did. Since Standash had joined the First Order, this skill had become more important. It let her be unaware of things. She was smart, not that was an understatement, she was brilliant. She knew that she could and would deduce almost everything if given the opportunity. Instead, she kept herself from getting the chance. That was why she always turned down chances for clearance reviews and to be read into operations. The First Order was not the monster that the Alliance wanted people to think, especially not anymore. But things were not always done for truly altruistic reasons. Not knowing let her operate that they were.

Faina manages not to smile when Nicolina gives her an amused I-told-you-so grin after Annelise reveals that she had already managed to contact Standash while they had been discussing the matter of Annelise accepting the position of aide, and simply nods when asked for the staff and crew list, "I can get the list to you in a moment. Standing and motioning towards the door, Faina replies to Annelise's question about an office, There is an office just across the hall you can use."
After leading the way to the office in question, a decently sized, somewhat spartan yet comfortable space equipped with a desk, dataterminal and communications equipment set up to handle sending and receiving encrypted holo-net and comm messages, Faina says, "If you need anything else, just let Knight Levigne, she nods towards the twenty seven year old Shownarri with red hair, brown eyes and delicate features that has joined them, know and she will see that you get it. Knight Levigne, after inclining her head to Annelise and stating she will be in Faina's office if needed, leaves the room, and Faina explains, Knights Levigne, Matos and Sarkissian are my self appointed body guards, but I will let them know they are at your disposal for the duration of this venture. Use them as you see fit. I'll meet you here at 20:00 and we'll go to meet with the bridge crew before departure. Taking her datapad and preparing the crew list Annelise had requested and sending it to her, Faina asks, Do you have any other questions or concerns for now, Miss Sitar?"
The crew list Annelise receives details the bridge crew of the Jayanti, along with it's CAG, Chief Medical Officer, and Commanding Officer of the Stromtroopers serving aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer for the journey to Rendili to pick up the company of recently graduated Stormtrooper cadets Nicolina has handpicked to join the ranks of the Emperor's Talons. Among the crew of most interest to Annelise will probably be the Jayanti's XO, Leone Greco, who is a young, recently appointed Coruscant native that, Annelise will find as she works with him, has yet to learn the art of anticipating the needs of his superiors, and, while he is adept at carrying out any orders he is given, still requires more direction than one might wish of an XO. The Jayanti's CAG and Stormtrooper CO, on the other hand, are both older and more experienced, requiring the bare minimum of direction to carry out their respective duties; Niamh Quinn, the CAG, is a 33 year old Chalactan known to be terse and possessed of a dry wit, while Alain Lambert, the Stormtrooper CO, is more gregarious and straightforward in his dealings with his superiors.

Nothing for now Your Highness. Annelise turns and walks to the office. She hears the steps of the Knight behind her. As she walks she begins to go over the list memorizing the names. Some of these cadets she had known on New Carida, this made her smile. She took a quick glance a the small office to get her barrings in it. It was small but had everything she needed. Coruscant didn't have the luxury of space. Even in places like this, function was key. She sat and worked preparing references and quick notes. She was already making duty schedules in her head. She did not look up from her work as she addressed the Knight that had followed her. Knight Levigne... thank you for your assistance. What can you tell me about yourself? Millitary officers, and troopers I understand fine. Unfortunatly, I don't have much experience with knights and force users. The Grand Moff doesn't... The honest response would be that she didn't trust any of them, but Annelise wasn't about to publicly declare that, though most knew the Grand Moff's feelings. doesn't have much interactions with them.

Gauging from Annelise's focus on her work that her own presence is likely to prove superfluous, Risette takes a seat across from the desk and relaxes a bit while waiting to learn whether or not her suspicion proves to be an accurate one. Arching an eyebrow when Annelise, without looking up from her work, asks her a question, Risette pauses before replying; the question seeming to be more about Imperial Knights in general than about herself despite how it is posed. Finding, personally speaking, that attempting to generalize when seeking understanding of any group of individuals is ultimately a pointless endeavor - for just as reducing all politicians to a set of adjectives is futile, Imperial Knights cannot be summed up in a simple fashion - Risette nonetheless endeavors to formulate an answer that contains some semblance of insight.
"Well, let's see. . . I didn't become aware that I was Force Sensitive until I was eighteen and had enlisted with the Stormtrooper Corps. An Imperial Knight detected my sensitivity while I was in boot camp, after which I was transferred to the Imperial Knights to begin my training with them. Gesturing absently with a hand even though Annelise is not observing her, Risette explains, There really isn't any typical way that an Imperial Knight begins training though. Some of us, like the Empress, come from a family that has traditionally served in the Imperial Knights, while others have come from the Jedi Order or other Force Sensitive groups after finding themselves disenchanted or drawn to the Imperial ideals, while others still, like me, were given the opportunity after our Force Sensitivity was detected by an Imperial Knight. Most of us that join after our Force Sensitivity is detected, like me, naturally come from Imperial worlds, and given that our primary purpose is protecting the Emperor, devout loyalty to him is one characteristic that could be considered defining to Imperial Knights, and key to understanding us, at least as a group. Pausing a moment to consider what else she might add that would be useful to Annelise, Risette continues after a moment, While we don't have branches or officially delineated duties, some of us find ourselves fulfilling certain roles based on individual talents or preferences; I, for instance, displayed an aptitude for organization, maintaining an even-keel and keeping confidences that led to my becoming a de facto aide to the Grandmaster and Steward, while others fall into more traditional roles such as pilot, diplomat, or unit leaders. Not wanting to bore Annelise with any more detail that could prove unwanted, Risette says, I hope that proves helpful, adding, If you have any other questions, however, do feel free to ask them."

Interesting. She was listening intently, her voice would make that clear, even if it did not look like she was. She was going through the dossiers and briefings, filing away the information. In another part of her brain, information on the Imperial Knights and another, what she was learning about Kight Levigne. She needed to build a relationship here before learning more about the person that was the Empress.Very interesting indeed. I thought you were all great warriors, I never considered your Force would help with administrative tasks. How would you say the Force helps you with this? Would you say her Highness shares these skills?

Risette laughs lightly when, after Annelise says she finds what has been said interesting, the woman goes on to say she had thought all Imperial Knights were primarily skilled warriors, "Oh, we're all trained in combat, of course, and possess varying degrees of prowess, but the Force affords one more than just strength and speed. Pursing her lips in thought as she considers how best to explain how it is the Force can aid one in fields such as her own, Risette eventually settles on saying, I suppose one might simply put it down to instinct or insight, but I've found that the Force can often guide my hand, so to speak, when choosing where my efforts are most needed. Gesturing absently, Risette explains further, Bringing certain matters to the Empress' attention before others, for instance, when it feels that doing so will bring about a speedier resolution, or prioritizing meetings that seem more important for one reason or another."
Chuckling when asked if the Empress share her skills where administration are concerned, Risette smiles with an indecisive bobbling of her head, "Hmm, well, while I wouldn't say that Her Highness is lacking in insight, natural or aided by the Force, and has proven herself to be a capable diplomat, I would also say that she is more akin to those great warriors you spoke of earlier than either an administrator or a diplomat."
