Maureen danced about gaily skirting disaster with each step. Hungry swamp slugs, dragons snakes being just two among a host of dangerous animals sat in wait. Bogwings in the air came precariously close. But on the little girl played oblivious to it all

Rhiannon observed closely ready to leap in and assist the child in an instant yet guarded against the instinct to interfere with healthy childsplay, which in her mind was a natural aspect of life that was quite sadly oft forgotten in the life of the Force-sensitive. Of course one didn't merely sit by if a Force sensitive child was playing in traffic. Eyes thinning her hand touched a sabre at her side. Many a moon since it had been drawn but her skill was legendary..... Yet nothing was coming near her. So she kept an eye close on Maureen

Still the child danced about the swampy terrain with seemingly endless energy. She was full of life and having a ball. Rhiannon watched with a smile in spite of her reservations for the child’s safety. Then suddenly a snake dropped from a gnarltree. Dangerously close, less than a meter in front Maureen. This was one of the dreaded Dagobah pythons. Fables beasts indeed these were. Coiling up the snakes’s head reared up strike. Rhiannon moved with a shocking speed, she skipped gracefully across the distance separating her from the child, doing three complete back flips along the way avoiding deep water she landed on feet in front of the little girl with sabre drawn and ignited. In one elegant sweep left she severed the head cleanly from the snake. She then swing right, cutting another meter off the snake's still coiled body before stepping back, taking the girl with left hand and hurling her backwards. Herself taking two steps back she stood over the girl with sabre up ready to engage anything. She calmly asked -Rhiannon- “Are you ok dear?”

Everything happened like lightning. She was frolicking in the giant playground set out in front of her without a care then there it was. A snake. A big snake. A big angry snake. Maureen froze when the head loomed up in front of her. I’m going to get eaten was the last thought that crossed her mind. Then the old woman landed in front of her and chopping the snakes head off and tossing Maureen back. Landing on her rear end she quickly stood terrified. She was in for some 'deep shit' as her mom always put it. There she stood and watched Rhiannon cut the snake in half again. Hear it comes she thought. But all that came was a gentle question, to which Maureen responded fast, honestly and enthusiastically -Maureen- “Wow!!! That was too cool! Could you do that again???"

Rhiannon was cool outwardly. Her heart beat evenly on account of breathing methods, ingrained from years of training. But inwardly she was more than shaken up. This had been a close call. Too close. And it would not happen again on her watch. But she laughed in spite of herself at the little girl's response. Eyes narrowing a question struck her -Rhiannon- “Maureen honey…. Why didn’t you do what you did with the thing that attacked Grace?” Her words were not scolding but mere curiosity

Maureen heard the question but again felt no censure in Rhiannon’s tone. Again she answered with pure innocent honesty -Maureen- “That thing wasn’t going to hurt anybody but me.”

A bolt of lightning might as well have struck Rhiannon. “That thing wasn’t going to hurt anybody but me.” It was selfless; it was admirable. Eyes thinning she thought. It was exactly the type of attitude that should be praised and encouraged. Indeed it was her sworn duty to aid in Maureen's development. And she protect her against things Dark. So, now she had a Youngling under her wing. A most powerful one at that. “That thing wasn’t going to hurt anybody but me.” How poetic! Spontaneously bending down right hand falling light on the side of the girl's head she kissed the hair on the top. Then standing with left hand gesturing out at the swampy terrain -Rhiannon- “Run along and play but please be careful." The ageing woman stood with hands on hip watching attentively. Then there she was standing in front of her, eyes full of curiosity. Taking the child's hand Rhiannon walked leading Maureen with her -Rhiannon- "Let's go for a walk, shall we?" The question being mostly rhetorical and no opposition raised Rhiannon strolled along. She had a place she most wanted to see, and indeed one she firmly believed the child should observe. She muttered an timeless celebrated paean as she knew it -Rhiannon- Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force....

The crew of the Theta-class T-2c shuttle of Rhiannon wrestled wit the ship. The captain, aptly named Captain C. Captain, cursed a blue streak and kicked the ship at every possible occasion -Captain C. Captain- "We're graced that the Old battleaxe is nay here to catch a word of what I say." The men, fervently loyal to Rhiannon notwithstanding, bellowed along with the captain then all fell back into working the ship

The captain announced -Captain C. Captain- Boys we are set to fly." At that very moment the distinguished academic strolled gracefully over to the ship with young Maureen at her side. With a courteous bow -Rhiannon- "Gentlemen. In what way do we stand?" The answer was short -Captain C. Captain- "Ready when you are dear." Smiling wide -Rhiannon- "Then let's waste no time." On those simple words tall boarded the ship and it was lifted up into the sky

Darth Strife:
The ship set down on the huge open surface of a cut down swamp tree. The tree must have been thousands of years old before something or someone knocked it down. Darth Strife had no desire to set his modified HWK-290 light freighter down on the swamp. This would do nicely. He stood after making sure the ship was safely powered down. Time to check on his cargo. After a quick scan of the bacta tank in the hold, he saw that the Mando was nearly healed. He'd still have a headache when he came out but he wouldn't be close to lasting damage. Darth Strife pushed a few buttons and the tank water drained from around Adonias, sending him crumpling to the floor of the tank. "Time to wake up, Apprentice! We have much to do."
Darth Strife reached out and gathered the force just in case, then waited, curious to see how the Mandalorian reacted.

*Adonias groaned softly as he began to regain awareness. The first thing that hit him was the PAIN. His head felt like an angry herd of banthas trampled it. His eyelids fluttered open and he weakly struggled to sit up. Blinking bleary eyes at the dark figure outside of the tank, the young Mando began to panic as questions surfaced.*
"W-who are you? Where am I?"
*Wincing, he brought a hand up to gently touch his aching head, his fear permeating through the force at the realization that he couldn't even remember his own name...*

Darth Strife:
A delicious grin spread over Darth Strife's face. "Why ,Adonias, don't you remember your father and master? You were hurt as we battled a bitter dark Jedi but I was able to get you to safety. My name is now Darth Strife." The sith dropped his hold on the force and moved towards the Mandalorian. Reaching out a his right hand, he clasped Adonias by hand and pulled him to his feet, steadying him as he did so. "We are safe on Dagobah, and here we will train until you are ready to face that treacherous female." Darth Strife filled his voice with sincerity, words dripping velvety soft. Then he reached out to wrap Adonias in a warm hug.

*Slowly shaking his head, with wide puppy dog eyes that made the young man appear so much younger, Adonias pouted as he softly whispered.*
"No. I don't remember anything...y--your my father?!" *Adonias's eyes widened in shocked alarm, the word 'father' that just rolled off of his tongue, just didn't feel right and doubts began to gnaw away at him. Once the man helped him to his feet, his doubts lessened. He was taken by surprise when the man pulled him into a fatherly embrace. He returned it...his earlier doubts beginning to fade. Frowning, he pulled away to look Darth Strife in the eye.*
"I wish I could remember..."

Darth Strife:
"You unfortunately hit your head extremely hard. The dark jedi we fought was vicious and wanted to slay us both. She force threw you into a tree head first." Darth Strife spoke gently and smiled at Adonias while gloating in his head. "I repaired the external damage but it seems that your memories have been lost for now. I will help you remember them though. Come, let us eat and then begin to learn." Darth Strife beckoned to Adonias and led him to a seat before handing him a package of rations from the ship's supplies. "We have much to catch up on. Your sister will most likely try to follow us and we need to be ready to stop her this time."

*Despite the fact it was nothing more than a ration package, the young man found his mouth watering. His stomach rumbled and he eagerly ripped the packaet open and began to eat, all the while listening to what his father had to say. His eyes widened again and he began to choke on his food. After a coughing fit, Adonias gaped at the man.*
"I HAVE A SISTER?! Why the hell did she try to kill me--err...US?!" *He glared daggers, clenching his teeth angrily, as his rage began to build within his chest*

Darth Strife:
"Unfortunately, your sister once loved us both very much but grew jealous when we learned that you too had a connection to the force. The jealousness drove her to madness and she tried to kill you as a child and so we had to banish her from our lives. Since then, she has tried to hunt us down, everywhere we travel to in order to finish the job. But of course, the entire time she also tries to play mind games. This time she almost convinced you she had changed. If I hadn't stopped her, she would have killed you as you had stopped fighting." Darth Strife shook his head sadly, looking up after his tale to read how the young boy was accepting the story. "We may be sith but family matters. The fact that your sister has turned to madness never ceases to sadden me." The sith wrapped his injured hand easily as he spoke.

*Adonias nodded in acceptance of the story. Within the recesses of his mind, he still reserved a small reservoir of confusion. Some things seemed true and others--well, he just couldn't remember and it was very frustrating! After he finished his food he stood up with a fiery look of firm resolve in his eyes. Jaw set in determination, Adonias spoke.*
"Teach me, father. Teach me so that we might have our revenge!..." *He seemed to trail off and looked sad himself.* "Are you certain, that she cannot be saved? Is she truly a lost cause?"

Darth Strife:
"I am sorry, my son. But we have tried so many times to save her and she has fought every offer of peace and leniency from us." The sith let sadness flood his eyes and a tear gathered in the corner of one eye. "This last attack has washed out any hope I may have still carried. Your sister is too far gone. I will teach you and together we will end her life and her suffering with it." Inside, Darth Strife laughed long and hard but nothing was betrayed on his face. He looked directly at Adonias conveying nothing but sadness and determination. "Come, we will explore the caves nearby for that is where you will start your journey to strength." Darth Strife stood and palmed open the hatch nearby, then walked down the plank before stepping foot on the planet.

*Adonias clearly mulled it over in his mind before nodding. He joined Darth Strife at the ramp and followed him out of the shuttle.*
"Perhaps you are right. Putting her out of her misery would be merciful...woudn't it?"

Darth Strife:
The sith nodded and smiled gleefully. His back was to Adonias so he didn't worry that his smile would be seen. "It really would be the best thing to do. Now come, we have a long way to go before we reach the cave I am looking for." Darth Strife led the boy through the swamps, past deep pools of water and twisted trees. Dagobah could be dangerous but he loved the planet for that reason. After about a mile of walking, he slowed. Pointing towards a hollow in a twist tree that had merged with a lump of rock, he beckoned Adonias closer. "There is what we seek. You must enter that cave and it will show you your true purpose."
