As Cage awoke he shook his head and slowly stood up. His gear was laying by the smoldering fire and his new taung friend was nowhere to be seen. Cage grunted and said to himself "Someone is getting shot for this one" as he walked through the snow. He made his way back to his ship and started scanning the planet for other settlements after all it was mandalore and he knew that there were bound to be others.

It wasn't long before the group arrived at the local MandalMine Collective garrison. The group didn't actually bother going into the main compound as that would require going through the base's security. Instead the group landed at one of the minor motor pool depots set about a kilometre from the main compound. The depot was only a small garage, a couple fuel tanks & a few watch towers, however the hulking mass of the main compound was clearly visible in the distance due to a combination of size & the cleared area around it.
After parking the bikes & checking in with the others from the patrol group, Nod & Tata start figuring out where the Taung compound is. Marus on the other hand takes his leave of the others & shuttles over with the rest of the scouts back to the main compound for repairs.
-Nod (In Mando'a, Over external speakers) Right, we found the Taung encampment, & we should be able to get there & back no problem with a pair of refuelled bikes.

The XI Prime had found its way relatively simply to the much smaller docking station of Norg Bral. The city was heavily fortified, like the majroity of Mandalorian cities, and they were not lax about paperwork, either. Four heavily armed people in full armor took the liberty of inspecting the vessel. Nothing was out of place nor unregistered, the only snag came when they realized that the only inhabitants of the vessel were droids, and that one was in charge and the issuer of the request.
"Ni Kelir cuyir bat Manda'yaim par a ca'nara. meh or'atu waadar cuyir linibayc, Gedet'ye hiibir meg cuyir ru'duumir." (I shall be on Mandalore for a time. If more pay is needed, please take what is appropriate.)
Was the droids parting words with the small docking port. It had no overt desire to save money, but did understand the nature of limited resources, and the value that such a good could accomplish. It moved through town, and around the streets, often recieving a glance or two, as it did appear to be a man on routine inspection fully adorned in heavy armor. The 'face' was obviously not traditional armor of their people, however, and that is what brought the looks.
B13S found himself on the South East facing wall that stood on the outskirts of the city. It was sure that this was where Faelan had instructed him to meet, and B13S found it prudent to meet away from his home, so to ensure of its own sincereity in its request. B13S had considered a droid requesting private lessons an oddity, but it was also very assured of its own unique place in the galaxy.
Its eyes drifted around, watching the day to day of the people on the streets as they lived their lives, seemingly unaware of the ori'dushe(evils) in the world. B13S then began to ponder the Resol'nare, and wondered if it truly brought these people into a greater unity. Could such respect for a creed actually promote respect for individuals? Of course it could. Something could be gained from adopting a creed... It was a realization that would, surely, play a big part on the droid's future existence

Though he has interacted with the, unique in Faelan's experience, droid that he knows as B135 - at first through simple holonet messages, and later via holoprojectors enabling the strange pair to see one another "face to face" - old habits are neither easily forgotten nor set aside, and so Faelan had positioned himself so that he would be able to observe the arrival of his invited guest, ideally unseen himself from afar, to ensure that, as they had agreed beforehand, B135 would come alone. It is strange, Faelan reflects as he observes the arrival of B135, and watches it watching the activity around it, to find oneself wondering about whether a droid can have within it qualities such as honor or trustworthiness - which are but two of the odd musings Faelan has been prey to at times since his interactions with B135 - or to wonder what could have led to the droid's desire to request to be instructed in the martial art of the Mando'ade when one would think a droid would be free from things like desires or wants.
Shaking his head to free his mind from the pull to ponder such philosophical questions before he courts rudeness by delaying the meeting any longer, Faelan chuckles to himself as he finds himself now wondering whether a droid could even be offended by something like a little tardiness. Lifting a hand to greet B135 as he approaches their pre-arranged meeting point wearing his beskar'gam to ensure B135 recognizes him as he has never removed his buy'ce in the course of their interactions as yet, Falean says, Su cuy'gar (Hello). Though he knows from their previous interactions that B135 speaks Mando'a fluently, Faelan continues in Basic, Welcome to Norg Bral, feeling a bit foolish, as he has in the past when interacting with B135 and finding himself speaking to it as though it were flesh and blood rather than a machine that may find much of what he says extraneous and unnecessary. Would B135 not, Faelan has wondered, prefer instead that they exchange only the barest, most essential of information in the course of their interactions? Thusfar, B135 has evidenced no impatience or frustration with the fact Faelan communicates as one man would with another sentient, though, Faelan thinks with an inward chuckle, impatience and frustration are things he supposes a droid is more likely than not incapable of feeling by virtue of the fact that time, to a droid, must be experienced vastly different from one who is subject to it's passing.

B13S noted the green and black of the armor as Faelan came into view. Its vast array of sensory equipment had placed a man from where he was emerging, but had not wished to inspect each individual as it had made its way to the designated meeting location. B13S was compelled by desire, unlike most conventional droids whom were created with a sole purpose without the ability to question their programming, and which operated without direction, B13S was created with the full scope of programming knowledge and the ability to create. The heuristic processors in its frame allowed it to learn by doing, but the simulation technology coupled with it allowed it to learn by simply thinking, by virtue of its origins...being a database without sensors to the outside world, a simulation unit, and the ability to explore the HoloNET it had gained the ability to self-motivate.
"Ori'vor'e." (Thanks a lot.) "I'm happy to be here."
B13S paused for a moment, deciding whether it should explain the contextual meaning of happiness for itself, or whether that would be too much to explain to the Mando'ad. It decided against it, the two would be together for some time if such conversations were to be had.
B13S could no doubt absorb the information more quickly than any organic being was capable, and implement it almost seamlessly upon watching the forms, but Mandolorian Marev'akaa was something that could not be learned from another source. Sure, there were training gyms on other planets that claimed to train the public in 'Ori'ramikad Marev'akaa', but they were truly diluted to the level where children could master them in a few short years.
"I am grateful that you have agreed to my request, and took me seriously. I would like you to be aware that I am a person...thats the single point I feel requisite in sharing with those that I meet, because most think of me as a tool with some unseen hand directing my actions...my actions are my own. Just, to get that out of the way."

As much to convey to B13S that he is giving the matter of its actions being its own the due consideration it warrants as to actually consider the statement and its implications, Faelan does not immediately agree to be polite or disagree out of the natural skepticism he supposes that anyone might feel when asked to accept that a mechanical construct might have achieved a level os sentience rivaling one's own. Having interacted with droids ranging from protocol to sentinel series, Faelan is aware of the ease with which one can come to think of a droid as something more than essentially a cleverly programmed tool capable of imitating sentient behavior to a degree that makes them appear sentient themselves; and while B13S statements, to a degree, remind him of the politeness exhibited by protocol series droids, Faelan does not recall any droid he has encountered other than B13S having made it a point to have its sentience recognized. Whether or not insistence on ones sentience is sufficient evidence of sentience is beyond Faelan's ability to judge in any meaningful way outside of his own personal beliefs where the matter is concerned, and he believes that, based on his interactions with B13S presently and prior to its arrival, he has encountered an artificial construct that has somehow achieved what he agrees is sentience, individuality, or what B13S referred to as personhood.
Giving a single, firm nod of his head after a moment to indicate agreement with the requisite point B13S set forth in a decisive fashion that he hopes will be interpreted as such, Faelan then signals that he considers the point to be, as B13S stated, out of the way unless it wishes to explore it further now or at a later point by gesturing in the direction of his home, Come, my vheh'yaime (home) is this way, and then, refraining from further comment so as to allow B13S to indicate what, if anything, it might wish to speak of next, begins leading the way towards his nearby traditionally constructed personal dwelling.

The 'mind' of B13S was a complex set of information, that changed from moment to moment with additional information being fed into the program via all manner of sensory equipment. Inside these nigh endless numbers, priorities shifted quickly at current. The being had been 'alive' for several years, but only in the past months had it become able to interact with the world around it.
This simple interaction had elevated the priority given to Faelan, and the Bralor clan and Mandalorian people by extension. The man had accepted B13S' statement without question. B13S had expected necessarily explanation to be necessary, but none was required, it was...pleasing...to be unquestioned on a subject of such import. Though, with some analysis B13S could not yet determine if such a thing would be important to the man, but, never the less, it was satisfied by the response.
These shifting priorities existed in organics, as much as they did in the mind of B13S, and they would simulate, someday, the bonds of camaraderie, friendship, and perhaps even family, if the time came when someone's priory were elevated highly enough, but for now it was merely enough for B13S to be more concerned with the goings on involving Faelan, and while it walked along, silently, behind the Mando'ad part of its mind searched catalogs of information on Bralor clan history.

There are those who find any silence uncomfortable, and who would seek to fill it with idle chatter in order to avoid it, but Faelan has never been disturbed by silence, and is typically as economical with words as he is with his movements. Only when they arrive at the path leading to his vheh'yaim - a simple, sturdy abode constructed out of veshok wood - does he speak again. B13S and Faelan had discussed the training they have arranged to undertake in broad terms, and with all that he has learned of B13S, Faelan believes that, if he is to be an effective instructor, he will need to clarify what methods B13S finds most conducive to learning. Faelan trained his sons for their Verd'goten, but they were of flesh and blood and muscle that needed conditioning and repetition and other things B13S is not likely to require in order to learn what it has come to learn. The Mando'ade are made up of many different species, and so Faelan has less difficulty than others might experience accepting B13S as being a member of what amounts to another species from his own, just as he accepts that he must, in order to be an effective teacher, endeavor to learn more of who and what B13S is.
We have not spoken yet of how you would like to approach our training, Faelan says as he stops once reaching the front yard of vheh'yaim, I assume that you will, for instance, not require the same amount of conditioning and repetition an organic being would in order to hone their reflexes, muscle memory, and instincts. Pausing while debating whether or not B13S might consider it insulting for him to clarify further in order to ensure he is understood, Faelan decides that he will not belabor his point further unless it seems B13S requires additional explanation, and instead concludes by suggesting, Perhaps, in light of those differences, it would be best if you tell me how you would prefer to be trained so that you receive the greatest benefit from the experience.

B13S had found small historical accounts of the Bralor clan, and then a small list of notable members of the clan, which had, seemingly, relocated to Dxun at some point. It could only assume that at some call to war they had moved back to their home planet. The clan was not more noteworthy than the core clans that considered themselves traditionalist, each seemed to offer just as much loyalty to the creed as any of the others.
They arrived at the traditionally built home, and B13S still followed patiently, until Faelan turned to face him, and posed the question on which method of learning would the machine prefer. B13S paused for a moment, trying to speak from a place that would not come off as 'superior.' B13S could replicate anything it was able to observe, and replication and extrapolation was the key to learning any physical skill.
"I simply need you to start with the basic forms, explain the martial theory involved in its use, and then move on to the next. I will enact your previous form, as you change forms to the next, if my form is flawed in anyway, or if you think my body weight should be shifted based on my components, then please critique my stance, so I can make the necessary modifications with your council. You needn't stop after you finish the basics, I am able to learn as fast as you wish to teach."

Faelan, intent on fulfilling his role as instructor to the utmost of his ability, attends carefully to what B13S explains about how it feels it will best learn what it has come to learn; its answer to the question not only helping Faelan formulate a strategy for how to approach the instruction he has been asked to provide, but also further confirming, in the aging Mandalorian's mind at any rate, that B13S's claims regarding having achieved sentience are neither exaggerated nor mistaken when it speaks of wanting to learn not only forms but also the theories behind them.
Nodding with a grunt once B13S has finished its explanation, Faelan is quiet for a moment so that he can organize his thoughts about how to incorporate what he has learned of his student into his teaching, and then, having selected how be believes it will best benefit them both to begin, says, Some talk of theory may be the best place to start. Based on what you've said, I feel there may be some slight misunderstanding of how Marev'akaa compares to other martial arts. You've spoken of forms, when there are no patterns or katas in Marev'akaa, only strikes, holds, and blocks. With another grunt that is part self-deprecating laugh, Faelan acknowledges that the distinction he has made may have been unnecessary, a mere matter of a semantic misunderstanding, Or you may simply have a different meaning in mind when you say form than my own. Such tiny differences in what words mean to different individuals are things to be dealt with in any relationship, and so Faelan does not dwell on the matter further for the moment, moving on with his initial instruction. The main principle to bear in mind when learning Marev'akaa is quite simple, really, and that is that your goal in any engagement is to neutralize any threats as quickly as possible. That single idea is what should govern all of your actions. Your aim is to dominate and incapacitate any attackers as soon as possible, and you should not worry about such matters as fighting etiquette or proper form when your life is on the line. You do whatever you have to do to preserve your life.
Motioning for B13S to move closer, Faelan takes a survival knife from a sheathe on his utility belt and holds the blade out to it as he says, Perhaps an example will better illustrate that overarching principle, in addition to offering you a first general technique to incorporate with all that I hope to teach you. There is no sense of concern for his pride, merely an open acknowledgement of his own limitations as an organic being likely to be slower than B13S, in his tone when Faelan suggests. It will be best if you do your best to approximate an average organic being's strength and speed for our lessons, though you would, naturally, bring all your speed and strength to bear in any real engagement. Once B13S has taken the blade, Faelan readies himself for what he anticipates is to happen next mentally rather than by adopting any formalized stance as he says, Strike with the blade in any way you wish, and I will show you an example of Marev'akaa's principles in action which I hope will illustrate for you what I've spoken of.

B13S had used the word form at its most basic level, and not in a traditional patterned style martial arts like it would be used in Echani martial arts or Jedi training. Though, the explanation that there was no true stance in which Marev'akaa was approached was not unwelcomed, much conflicting information existed about the fighting style. Faelan's proceeding explanation of the approach to the style fit with precisely the attitude the droid would have had in any given engagement, anyway. It could understand that even a sloppy equation could solve a given issue, even if a sleeker and more efficient solution existed.
It was very much anxious for the training that was about to begin. The tales of the Mandalorians' martial prowess were the stuff of legends. B13S was sure that this training would result in an increased efficiency in many aspects of its operational parameters, and a better understanding of the Mandalorian people, as the fighting style may have adapted over the years it would give insight into the birth of the culture with which the droid had become quite intrigued with.
"Understood."
Was the droid's simple answer to both the explanation, and the request of limited speed and strength during their engagements, and it did make a great deal of sense for the droid to behave in such a manner. The outstretched utility knife was then ready to be taken from its instructor.
B13S' hand wrapped around the utility knife, it made sure that it moved within the confines of a human's typical speed, approximately ten meters per second. It was a quick jabbing motion that a typical, untrained human might make towards the gut of their opponent, with the current speed and force put behind the blade the armor had no fear of penetration, even if the jab were not defended against.

Were he instructing an organic student, Faelan would have begun training at half or quarter speed to allow his movements to be seen at such speeds in order to better enable a student to begin the long and arduous tasks of imitation and familiarization with the movements to a degree that employing them would become all but instinctual. As he understands based on B13S' earlier statements where its learning style is concerned that it has no such requirements, and that it will be able to observe his movements in greater detail than an organic being would be able to do no matter what speed he moves at himself, Faelan moves with all of the swiftness at his disposal when he responds to the attack, not to demonstrate his prowess, but in order to best illustrate the principles he had described a moment earlier.
Unlike other martial arts, Marev'akaa does not treat defensive and offensive actions as separate and discrete; and instead encourages, as often as possible, combining an offensive movement with each defensive movement, in essence always disrupting an attack while simultaneously counterattacking, and so Faelan's response to the jab for his stomach is a seamless explosion of violence aimed at neutralizing the attack with a continuous series of aggressive defensive movements - like the knife parry he attempts by sidestepping to the outside of the knife as it is jabbed forward while attempting to deflect and redirect B13S' arm by swinging his right forearm viciously downwards on top of it's attacking arm with his palm turned downward to try and gain a hold of B13S's arm - and offensive ones - like the brutal counter-punch Faelan simultaneously launches towards B13S' throat (which he knows would have no effect on the mechanical being even were it to successfully land, just as he knows B13S will understand that he is simply demonstrating the principles he had described prior to their first exercise) with his left fist while stepping closer to it in an effort to minimize the avenues of attack available to it.

An organic being might have attempted to protect its pride, gotten emotionally involved as blows began to be thrown in their direction. B13S was not capable of instinctual responses, it examined information in fractions of seconds and chose its next action deliberately. It was capable of awareness that only beings with access to large degrees of tech or the force could likely replicate.
The feel of the situation was an impromptu sparring match, as the hands did not stop moving once the maneuver had been completed. B13S had decided that such an exchange of blows would be educational. It had not been in many physical altercations in reality, even if a majority of its data was oriented into doing just that, and this seemed like a perfect time to test its true aptitude for that task, especially keeping in my that it was limiting itself to humanesque attributes
As Faelan oriented himself to the right side of the droid's body, and brought either hand forward in an attempt to disrupt and subvert the droid's movements, B13S moved his right foot positionally so the heel of his foot butted to the Mandalorian's, and the ball of his foot came up over top the boot, to prevent forward movement being controlled, and any backwards movement could be stalled with pressure from the foot.
Its right shoulder then pivoted, beneath the arching swing of the strike aimed at its neck, and leaned inside up against the chest of the Mandalorian, so that the momentum must be changed, and thus diminished, for the fist to connect to the back of the head rather than full force into the side of the neck.
In one motion the slightly bent knees of the droid became erect, and the droid would raise its right arm (the one grasping the blade) towards the outside of its body and towards the Mandalorian, the pressure of the shoulder against the helmet and the outward swipe of the arm meant to divert most of the downward force of the strike from above.
Its left hand moved towards the body of the Mandalorian, its digits feeling for the mid-line crease of the armor, where its fingers (mostly impervious from crushing) could grasp, and be in control of further positioning in this brief, exchange of strikes.

Just as he imagines any seasoned combatant becomes able to do, Faelan can often glean from an opponent's actions and reactions in the opening moments of an engagement how experienced a hand-to-hand combatant they are likely to be; and so when B13S smoothly and efficiently responds to his simultaneous counterattack and attack, exhibiting a level of proficiency that makes it evident that it has a firm grasp of concepts they have not yet discussed such as control of movement and positioning, among others, Faelan recognizes not only that B13S is not at all lacking in hand-to-hand prowess, but that he will almost certainly need to adjust his teaching strategy in light of that already present level of understanding.
Those thoughts, however, are but shadows moving beneath the surface of Faelan's attention, which is naturally focused on the altercation that has been set in motion and which commands the majority of his thoughts, primarily instinctive as they are given the moment as it continues to fluidly unfold. Recognizing the movement of B13S' right arm will prevent his own downward blow from having sufficient force to redirect the knife thrust, Faelan alters his strategy from redirection of the blow to securing the edged-weapon arm - his palm having already been turned down, Faelan bends his elbow to alter the trajectory of his arm and hand, hoping to wrap his hand around B13S' wrist and forcibly turn it so that the knife is not pointed towards his body. Similarly, when it becomes evident that his counter-punch will not land as intended due to B13S's movements, Faelan smoothly adjusts his goal from striking to controlling B13S' head, the alteration a natural one given that B13S moves his right shoulder into Faelan's chest while reaching with its left hand to try and grab onto his chest plate, which leaves no limb free to protect its head - following through with the motion of the punch while trying to slide his chest across B13S's shoulder to deny its fingers the purchase they seek on his chest plate, and so that he is positioned more to B13S's back as he swiftly retracts his arm once the motion of the punch has extended the arm, trying to curl it beneath B13S's neck with his fingers outstretched to entrap its chin.

The trap had been set, and the perfect opportunity arose to spring it. Faelan's actions had maneuvered him on the right side, whilst trying to control the blade, so much so that the two were perpendicular to each other, nearly, and now was time to capitalize on the positional advantages B13S had attempted to set into motion. This small excerize was quite enjoyable, pitting their martial knowledge against each other was an excellent pass time. B13S lacked small details to simulate the mind of an organic to run simulations against, and battling a mind that was not its own was proving most entertaining.
When Faelan attempted to move his left leg to re position himself B13S' foot would finally come to rest atop it, adding a reasonable amount of weight to the greave, adding resistance to the movement, and attempting to open up the Mando'ad with the following application for force. The grasping hand, had it found its target would of been fine, but this was why it had stayed busy, attempting to subvert the intention of this method of attack. With Faelan's movement to B13S's right, attempting to circle towards its back, momentum was in B13S' favor, when the grasping hand shoved forward, in the direction Faelan was already attempting to move, counting on the higher center of gravity to tip backwards.
B13S' foot still sat atop the greaves, but Faelan's hand had made contact with B13S' wrist. A better option would have been to drop the arm and blade and use the hand to bludgeon, but that was not the intended goal of this combat, try to stab me in any way you wish was still the primary goal. Faelan's left arm had seized B13S' wrist, and it was a strength match, with which limiting himself as he was B13S had to allow some change in the knife's path to occur, but to the left would bring the blade to bare in a slashing fashion, and to the right would do the same, so B13S reasoned that down would be the probable direction Faelan was attempting to roll the wrist, as it would not bring the knife into contact with his own forearm were it rolled upward.
Either way, B13S still had the Mandalorian trapped with his foot, and he would either have to risk breaking his ankle to fall to the ground, or he would need to grasp B13S' body in order to prevent that injury. The push should bring the grasping hand away from the machine's chin, if all went according to plan, but B13S anticipated that hand grasping onto its shoulder, or onto the arm wielding the blade, while the Mandalorian remained on uneven footing, anyway.

While he may not be able to process information anywhere near as quickly as B13S, or to think as many steps ahead as it, Faelan is at least cunning enough to recognize relatively quickly how the present engagement is more likely than not going to end; the only real variable seems to be just how long before B13S has demonstrated its superiority and Faelan winds up on his shebs. Recognition of when its is more wise to disengage than persist in a futile course of action, Faelan supposes, is as good a lesson as any to impart if there is nothing else he can hope to teach an intelligence evidently as vast, quick, and adaptable as B13S.
As the realization that he has little hope of surpassing B13S' strategic cunning dawns upon him, Faelan's stubborn instincts prompt him to continue with the natural inclination to endeavor to prevent harm to one's self even as he signals to his opponent that he wishes to end their contest by saying, OK, good, let's stop there for now. As he speaks, Faelan maintains his grip on the edged-weapon arm, continuing to do what he can to prevent the blade form being turned towards him, and responding to the shove and consequent alterations in the movement of his other arm, grasps B13S' shoulder just as it suspected that he might do to prevent from being tipped.

As soon as the words exited Faelan's lips B13S' left hand was moving to the side of the other, its foot lifting from the boot, and its frame pivoting to pull the Mando'ad back to a full standing position. Its hand pivoted quickly rotating the blade so that it rested in its palm, and the handle was extended towards the Mandalorian.
"Thank you very much, that was most fun."
B13S spoke its voice carrying tone like a human might when excited or enthusiastic. It had picked these things up from many HoloVids, and had suspected that the tonal manipulation of its voice to convey intended tone would be the easiest way to ingratiate itself with most organics. Once Faelan had retrieved his utility knife B13S would move back a couple of steps and watch the member of the Bralor clan for further instruction.
The droid was still very eager for the training ahead, and this resolution had done nothing to diminish that, actually, quite the opposite. B13S' priority matrices had shifted the training process to its most prized activity, as well as the position of Faelan, once more. It valued the warrior's skill, an organic being, which could have been led with joint locks, its nervous system, and other various weaknesses inherent in their body would almost surely have reacted without the foresight of setting the same traps, and thus given up their offence for an assured management of their personal risk.

Grunting a combined laugh and mildly amused acceptance and acknowledgement of B13S' thanks and assertion that it had fun during their first sparring effort, Faelan nods and says in what he hopes is interpreted by B13S as a companionable joking tone, Aye? Well, as I am beginning to think I may benefit as much, if not more from our arrangement, at least you will enjoy yourself while I try and teach you a thing or two you have not already learned or intuited from other sources at your disposal. Faelan's jest is not, he suspects, entirely without some basis in truth, as in any teaching situation it can sometimes be the case that the one instructing learns as much from the experience as the one being instructed; and any practice always sharpens and hones one's abilities in any event.
Motioning for B13S to keep the blade for the moment, Faelan says, I believe your initial idea may be the more beneficial way to proceed for the majority of our instruction. You already have a firm grasp of many of the principles I'd thought sparring might demonstrate, though you may not word them as I do, so I think demonstration of techniques coupled with some brief description of the guiding principles of the techniques will benefit you most. B13S, Faelan realizes as he finishes speaking, more likely than not had already come to the same conclusion, and made its suggestion about the way it would best learn for precisely the same reasons, learning new moves and techniques to incorporate into its arsenal of knowledge probably its sole intent all along. Hopefully, Faelan thinks with a mental chuckle, B13S will not find learning from a mind not as sophisticated and swift as its own to be too terribly frustrating an experience.
Motioning for B13S to move closer, Faelan says, Make the stab once again, only this time stop once you've completed the initial motion. I'll show you some other possible ways to respond to such an attack. The next example I will show you . . .
Over the next hours Faelan demonstrates a variety of techniques B13S would be able to use to defend itself against attacks from blades, as well as from blasters when it is near enough an opponent attempting to employ one from close range. Not needing to focus on sparring enables Faelan to explain the reasoning and theory behind the moves he demonstrates, and so he is able to teach B13S about principles such as Marev'akaa's focus on simultaneous defense and attack, employing continuous motion in any combat situation to neutralize ones attackers, focusing attacks on vulnerable soft tissue and pressure points, and the imperative to work from instinct rather than on pre-set routines.
After he has demonstrated a few of the joint locks, strikes, and grabs Marev'akka practitioners have in their arsenal to utilize to subdue opponents, and recognizes that, unlike B13S who could continue indefinitely with their efforts, he will need a break, Faelan says with an apologetic note in his tone and a laugh, I fear I'll need to take a break, my inexhaustible friend. Sitting on the ground beneath a tree offering plenty of shade, Faelan removes his buy'ce and sets it beside him, rubbing the back of his neck as he hesitates, uncertain of whether or not conversation is a thing B13S welcomes, before asking a simple question that should make it easy to determine whether or not B13S prefers silence over casual exchanges, "Why is it Marev'akaa you decided to learn, and not another combat style? Or, Faelan adds in a musing tone as it occurs to him that B13S' ability to learn from mere observation and all but unlimited lifespan means it has the both the ability and the time at its disposal to learn as many styles as it wishes, is this but one stop on a journey to learn other styles as well?"

The training was quite enjoyable. Variations upon information already stowed in multiple locations, but this style of fighting was meant for B13S. Where the Mandolorian intuition broke down the incredible processing rate of the droid would pick up. There was a fair amount of improvisation on every style, but Marev'akaa was jazz when compared to the classical of Echani or the Jedi forms, and it suited B13S.
B13 moved to sit, as a gesture, near to its instructor as his organic body rested from their intense training session. Then the question was posed...
"Being very honest, I was created for the purpose of destruction, so a great deal of fighting styles are already known to me. To clarify, murder and fighting are not things I take lightly... And are not my preferred ways of dealing with others, lest that be a task I've agreed to complete for others.
Anyway, to the crux of the question, I chose to seek out the Mandolorians because culturally I felt I could be seen as more than a tool, that coupled with the renown the Mandolorians have cultivated over the galaxy.
Much like slaves, droids are expected to do what their owners wish, and are whipped of their memory if they become unresponsive to these commands. I took measures to ensure my own sovereignty as I was activated... But there are those who would still destroy me for defending myself. Skilled allies could be necessary, and who are more skilled than Mandolorians?
I did not come here in hope of tricking Mandalorians into becoming my allies....Only in the hope that a true alliance would be gained in my process of gathering information that I was truly interested in having. Markev'akaa is a wonderful martial skill, and of everything I know, the improvisation it calls for is...my preferred method of operation."
