"Let me give you something for it. I wouldn't feel right just taking a weapon from you, considering you have been so accommodating to invite along on your adventures."
Mel noticed the looks she was getting from some of his crew as the rifle was brought in and slid in a case under the table to be out of the way of the foot traffic in the cantina. Tucking into her bowl of stew while a waitress brought her another mug of ale, she lowered her voice a little bit.
"It looks like you are being watched, should I be worried? Are you going to be in trouble for joining me or do you like to pick up pretty faces in bars?"
There was a teasing quality to her voice and she met his eyes expectantly as she chewed on a bite of slow cooked meat.

"I told you I would spare one for you, and I am a man of my word."
Duraanir had noticed the looks from Lynris and Eshana as well, but figured they were just being curious. When Mel asked if she should be worried, he was mid drink, causing the man to snort, and subsequently choke on his drink. He started to beat on his chest plate, not that it would do anything, the choke fading into a slight laugh as he shook his head.
"I have more reason to worry then you do. Eshana is sort of a group mom, and Lynris...is probably trying to come up with a soap opera plot for us. I'll probably suffer some mild teasing later. He caught the tease and gave her a grin. "Think your too sober for me to be in your league, Mel."

Lynris' face lit up with a large smile when Eshana brought the drinks and food over. Eshana had chosen a stew, ne'tra gal, and cassius tea. She reached over and poured herself some tea to before pulling her bowl of stew close to her. Grabbing her spoon she pulled the perfect steamy bite.
"Nadala!!" She exclaimed dropping her spoon back into the stew. Perhaps she would wait a few moments allowing it to cool.
Lynris glanced over once more to Duraanir and other women and she giggled at Eshanas comment about him being like his father.
"With a face like sitting across from him can ya blame him?" She said attempting to blow on her new bite of stew. Finally she took a bite and managed to not burn her own tongue. After a moment, Lynris gave a girlish sigh.
"Oh when will I find someone to sweep me off my feet." She splashed her spoon in her stew idly. "Last person to be interested in me lied that he was a competitive Holochess master. He barely even knew the pieces but I suppose twileks were made to break hearts."
Lynris glanced back over at Eshana realizing she was staring over at Duraanir and his companion too long. JD was sulking besides her but Lyn was largely ignoring him. She shifted in her seat and rested her head against her palm.
"Romance is quite different among us I suppose." She said almost in a sad voice but she suddenly perked up and looked at the older Togruta. It occured to her that Eshana was older and wiser, so perhaps she had some insight or advice. "What do you think is the best aspect in a partner?"

Eshana had to smile at Lynris’s youth. “Romance is always challenging, ad’ika,” she answered slowly, reminiscing. “It changes you,” she continued, “but it can make you stronger, wiser. The trick is to find someone that is able to change and grow with you, even if it’s just for a little while. Those who are truly fortunate can find someone like that with whom they can spend the rest of their lives.”
Finally recognizing that she’d probably given a more philosophical answer than Lynris was expecting, she offered a sheepish version of her trademark toothy grin before busying herself with the stew in front of her.
While perfectly serviceable, this stew was nothing to the fresh meat she craved—and had been craving for awhile, she realized. Somewhere in the back recesses of her mind, she made a note to bother one of the Skiratas about indulging in a proper hunting trip sometime soon, between contracts.
Then, too soon, the bowl was empty, and she sat back feeling sated but not satisfied. Pursing her lips, she grabbed a pint of ne’tra gal and began sipping it in the hopes that it would fill in the corners, so to speak.
“After we finish here, do you want to scope out the rest of this tin-can? I should be smart and resupply on a few things for the med bay...”

"Well that is a rather terrible thing to say about yourself. Should I tell Eshana so she can take you by the ear and teach you to value yourself?"
She winked at him, but continued on.
"I don't have a league, my work has kept me from places like this where intrepid young men walk over to you and strike up conversations. I guess I just have one of those serious faces that makes the foolhardy keep to themselves."
She finished off her stew and placed the bowl over near the end of the table and took a sip of ale to wash it down.
"What kind of business do you have on Dxun? If you don't mind me asking, seeing as you are trying to recruit to me to your crew."

"Hahaha, fortune favors the bold, but the line between bravery and foolishness is a razors edge."
He smirked as she had winked to him, but let it quickly fade to the soft smile he had maintained throughout their talk. When she asked about what he planned on Dxun, he leaned back and dug around in a pouch. He pulled out a small holo-projector and it tapped on his data-pad. An image of Dxun was pulled up, with a red dot marking a specific location.
"I am planning a bit of excavation around this area here. I'm not expecting trouble with more then the local wildlife. But Onderon gets understandably twitchy when Mandalorians start poking around Dxun, so trouble could come quick." He knew full well what was at the location, but his peoples superstition was enough that he wouldn't say where that was. Or what he planned to dig up there.

Lynris furrowed her brows and mulled over the answer Eshana had given. It was definitely more serious an answer than she was expecting but she appreciated it and took it in regardless. Lyn took a few bites of her stew before cocking her head and looking up at the Togruta.
"Someone to challenge you, make you stronger. Someone who…changes you. I like it. It feels very," Lynris trailed off trying to find the right word. ",mandokar."
She brought her other leg up and sat crossed-legged in her seat while she ate. Giving a shrug, Lynris offered a half smile. "I was going to say someone who is passionate but I think I like your answer more."
Her eyes scanned the cantina as she finished her meal. The place was bustling and she almost felt bad for the staff. The Rock was an interesting place to build and she had to hand it to Clan Australis for the feat. Her mother would have loved to pick up a job working and building the place. Lynris took a sip of her tea.
"I'd been hoping to do a little shopping myself." Lyn replied. "Speaking of medical supplies, I've been doing a little reading on cybernetics but some of the actual medical stuff involved is a lot to take in with no training. I was hoping to just do some tinkering and maybe,"
Lyn had started a smile but it fell. She suddenly realized that messing with someone's cybernetics for petty pranks was probably not ethical or something she should be mentioning to a medic. Tor'vi a fellow mechanic who just happened to have a cybernetic arm had been annoying her for quite some time. Lynris was not above learning a bit of a new trade for petty revenge.
"Ya know, like provide some enhancements on the fly if need be. Strength, reflexes, the usual." It wasn't a bad coverup and she took another sip of her tea before setting it down.

Kaine nodded his assent as Duraanir Skirata headed off. Catch you around vod'ika. He turned back to his ale, content for the moment to sip and rest between jobs. Kad knew he didn't take enough relaxation time. The kind normal people took for themselves; for Kaine, ofttimes those times were full of worry about the next battle. To the old warrior, battle was easy, battle was familiar, battle didn't require the kind of thought that made his sodden old brain hurt.
And the ale was nice and cold and went down a treat.Mel Tervho

Eshana narrowed her eyes at what the younger woman wasn’t saying, recognizing the cadences of mischief, but she didn’t refute Lynris’s evasion. Instead she nodded, furrowing her brow in thought. “Cybernetics is a tricky business,” she cautioned, her words spoken slowly, pensively. “The line between baar,” she gestured to herself, her body, ”and gota,” she gently patted JD, “ is very fine, and their interplay is almost magical.”
She was fascinated by the cybernetic arts, but she had no head for it. Sure, she knew how to do some very rudimentary repairs to some of the non-vital stuff, but that was it.
Lynris, though, was a gifted mechanic. Still learning, to be sure, but she’d heard many of the engineers aboard the Kara’yaim talking about her with glowing approval while she soothed their burns or set their broken bones. Mischief aside, with proper guidance, maybe Lynris would find a calling in cybernetics. It was just as likely that she wouldn’t, but the chance to have someone aboard their ship with that skill set was too tempting to pass up.
“Still,” she continued aloud, “maybe we could find some sort of specs or training manual for you while we’re shopping.”

JD had given a light hum when Eshana patted him, happy to finally have some appreciation. Lynris took in what Eshana said with a serious look on her face. The balance there had to be to craft and use cybernetics was delicate which is why she had not messed with the stuff already. One mess up could be dangerous or expensive. Cybernetics was interesting to learn outside of the mischief she wished to cause. In truth the idea how far enhancements could go is what interested her. How strong could one be made before it made a lasting impact on the body? How much tech could one attach and still control normally? Droids were just programming but organic bodies differed in their limits. Her eyes lit up and brought her from her thoughts when Eshana mentioned finding some training manuals or specs.
"That's what I was hoping. Though I'm not sure how much credits it might run. If it was too much I was just going to have JD here….procure me some from the holonet." JD gave a sharp beep of dissatisfaction. By procure, she did not mean buy. One time when she was younger, she had messed up his programming for a week before she was able to fix it because of some sketchy download. Lynris had been scolded good then.
"Regardless," Lynris said taking the last sip of her tea. "if I learn enough could be a good way to earn some credits too and do something more fun. Ship tech is booooring. Wire this, hyperdrive that, thrusters uuuugh. "
Lynris managed to glance over at Duraanir, noticing the woman give him a wink. A smile slid across her face as her eyes went back to Eshana. "Are you ready to go or should we stay longer? Hopefully Duraanir finds us something to do while were are here too. I'm getting restless."
Lynris pushed her chair back and stood up hoping to prompt Eshana. As she stood a large man shoulder-bumped into her. The much larger man gave a loud and rude grunt as his only acknowledgment of her. She turned to face the man and gave a happy giggle while placing a soft hand on his chest.
"Hey careful there big guy." She said with a genuine smile.
The man was going to continue walking but he turned to face Lynris and scowled down at her not happy at her all too cheerful demeanor. "Stay out of my way green-faced nerf bitch." He spat out and Lynris gave a sigh not caring to get into an argument. She opened to her mouth with an almost grin hoping to ease the situation but he continued.
"Your worm-headed friend too." Lynris slammed her fist into the table in frustration. All she wanted was to do was some shopping. Her other fist came at the man a second later connecting to his face with precision. Like a Vornskr hunting its prey, she lunged at him before he might have time to react, taking him down to the ground. A few tables over two others stood at the sight of this, his friends.

She dropped a few credits on the table to cover her tab and tip, reaching for her helmet. The atmosphere on the Wet Deck was turning a little feisty and she could hear the raised voices of a scuffle coming to head outside one entrance to the bar.
"You wanna get out of here for someplace quieter?"
She didn't wait for a reply as she smoothly donned her buy'ce, then ducked down to get the new rifle case out from under the table. Mel wanted to hit up the range at the covert to calibrate the gun anyway, and what better time than now. With the case slung over a shoulder, she grabbed the bottle of tihaar with her free hand, and headed for a rear entrance of the Mad Mythosaur.
Walking away from the bar, she hummed a little tune to herself as she weaved between travelers shopping and drunken patrons spilling out of the fighting arena.

Duraanir looked over to where Eshana and Lynris were, just in time to see Lynris start the commotion. There was a bit of conflict in him, as Mel began to leave. He would look between her and the girls and give a grumble, slipping out of the booth and slipping his own helmet on. He knew Lyn wouldn't hear, so he called out to JD.
"Tell its melee drills and sparring for two weeks if she loses!"
Duraanir turned back towards Mel and showed a bit of hustle to catch up. The heavier armor didn't seem to weigh him down any more then a normal suit of beskar'gam. He slowed to match Mel's pace as they made their way out onto the stall covered streets. Vendors had a bevy of items on display, from food, to parts, and druids. A few were being set up, the workers stopping to wave at Duraanir, likely the traders he mentioned traveling with his crew.
"Not one for rowdy bars?"

She was in the process of counting out the appropriate amount of credits when she heard the dumb lararyc casually insult her companion, and then her for good measure. Feeling that familiar rush of anger well up inside of her, Eshana nevertheless shook her head and rose, content to let Lynris settle this little dispute on her own. But then, she caught sight of the idiot’s friends making their way over to join in on the fun, and her anger starting singing in her veins.
She was two inches shorter than wiry Lynris, but she was sturdier, too. She planted her feet at the edge of the little circle that had formed around her companion’s activities, making sure to stand directly in the path of the man’s eager friends.
Sure enough, they stopped short as soon as they realized she was there and made threatening noises at her. She merely grinned, showing off her sharp teeth, and issued a one-time warning: “This fight is between your friend and mine, strangers. Let them resolve it, and you will have no problems.”
“Che!” one of them spat at her scornfully, “Yer no threat to us, toothy!” He moved as if to brush past her, but she stepped into his path once more, amber eyes wide and merrily glowing as she kept her attention divided among the two of them.
Words were no longer needed here.
The big guy reached out, intent on trying to push her out of his way. She saw it coming and pivoted a little, turning the gesture aside, and dropped into her stance. Then, she replied by way of a swift right hook landed just under his ribs.
Caught by surprise, he doubled over while she attempted to spring away from him. But the guy’s friend grabbed one of her lekku and pulled, breaking her stance and keeping her uncomfortably tethered while he sent a whistling jab at her face.
Pain blossomed across her jaw where it landed.
She hissed at him, but got in close, pushing her knee into the back of his to push him off balance while she thrust her palm upwards against his chin, forcing him to fall backwards and let her go. Then, she back pedaled a couple of steps, getting out of range while she brought her hand up to check if she was bleeding.
Abruptly, she realized that she didn't have Kurisu on her, and she grimaced. The kanabo that Cuyan had made for her would be a decisive advantage in this fight... but then again, she supposed she wasn't trying to kill them...

After Lynris had tackled the man who had insulted her, the patrons around them had edged away giving them space to tussle. A few people had laughed and began taking little bets amongst each other, others continued to drink as if this was a common occurrence and more seemed interested in the actual fighting and betting. Lynris noticed none of this her attention fully on the man before her. She had been lucky Eshana was also there to take care of the mans two friends. JD had swiftly grabbed her helmet and hid beneath a table having only given a sharp beep of acknowledgment at Duraanir's words.
Lynris had gotten the initial attack of surprise in but after having tackled him, they had fallen awkwardly against a set of chairs to the floor. She was not able to get the advantageous position she was hoping. As Lynris went to stand the larger man swung at her as he had gotten to his feet just a second quicker. His throw was messy with haste but had managed to hit her hard against the stomach. She grit her teeth through it. To her surprise another came after hitting the other side of her.
How annoying.
Through the corners of her eyes she had managed to see Eshana entangled with his friends and she felt bad for getting her into the mess. Lyn brought her fists up and stood ready giving the man a toothy smile that was hard to read. He came at her again with another punch but Lyn stepped forward as he did, side-stepping his punch and ramming her forehead against his face with as much force as she could.
Lynris could have punched him. She could have swept his feet. She could have done a number of things her training had taught her. But this was a bar brawl not war. Lynris pulled back to see the man clutching at his bloody nose. A bit of her forehead had split and a some of the mans blood dribbled down her face as she grinned at him almost begging him to make the first move again.
A look of uncertainty had flashed across his face and Lynris wondered if the man was done. Instead he came at her again, this time tackling her to the ground instead. She slammed against the ground under his considerable strength it was almost impressive. If there was any more strength behind it he would have knocked the wind from her and she felt the pain from his earlier punches flare. He climbed atop her and pulled back for a punch but Lyn twisted herself to the side and tucked her leg through his. Using his weight against him Lyn flipped him over and now was the one on top.
Maybe some training in a bar brawl was okay.
Her fist connected with his face again and she laughed.

"It's not that," she said, her voice taking on a rather detached sound though the vocoder as she made her way through the crowd. "I just don't want to screw up a new gun before I've had a chance to get it cleaned and calibrated."
She turned her head to glance at him, the reflection of the crowd around them in her visor. Her armor was muted colors of navy blue and pastel purple accents, covered in a fine dusting of dirt and carbon scoring. She ducked down a small alley looking hallway, turning a corner and making sure they weren't followed. When her curiosity had been satisfied, she pulled a grate in the wall open and walked down a hidden stairway into a corridor that twisted and turned its way towards the covert.
"Come on, it's just up here."
Mel disappeared down a side tunnel that ended in a heavy blast door.

The Fortuitous tipped, slid sideways, then landed with a thud. It burped steam, and smoke, and sadness. It was a reflection of the man inside. Barely holding together after years of abuse and neglect. The ramp slid loudly to the deck with a metallic screech and Ashrah made his way down, his bucket on his dome, blade on his back and the signature ball and chain looped at his belt. He was a run down mess, but his armour and weapons were clean and well taken care of. He looked around at the bustle and grabbed a passing tech by the shoulder, sputtering out a question
"Where is Kaine?"
The tech waved at a bar just over yonder. Typical he thought. Ashrah closed the ramp and waved the techs away from the beat up old freighter. He made his way wearily towards the pub, his boots clacking as he walked. He may be tired and run down, be he still moved like a predator. Smooth, deadly. The former Mand'alor entered the bar and looked around, spotting the man drinking an ale. He sighed and walked over to Kaine, speaking almost quietly "New travels fast and far old man."

Kaine was about to start laying bets on the nearby brawl that was kicking off. He had wanted to intervene, though quickly saw that the young lady could more than handle herself. So he had settled for gambling on the outcome, looking to see if he could find anyone willing to lay creds against the female. Lynris Skirata looked to Kaine to have the upper hand and he wasn't above a little wager.
Then he saw his old comrade approaching and heard the greeting. Kaine turned.Galaxy's a small place, ner vod! Kaine turned to the bartender and boomed. Tihaar. He snapped his fingers to emphasize, which made the bartender extend Kaine a middle finger that Kaine didn't see; though he did go to fetch the tihaar.Nice place eh? Kaine gestured to the Rock. He hadn't actually done dick all apart from fund the place. That showed in that the place had been well built and designed, because the rest of the Clan had managed to keep Kaine from interfering in the process, always key to the success of any plan that didn't involve destruction and mayhem.Who's old? The barge with Caloks kom'rk class fighter in tow enter the hangar. Fire suppression systems in the ship managed to tame the smoke clouds billowing from the engines. The lights from the hangar now revealing the extend of the damage. Engines not just dysfunctional, but almost looking to be shredded. Blast marks and torpedo hits scar the wings and main hull.
The ship normally painted in earth tones with black and red highlights now looking like a scorched earth. Though the faintest of images can be made out. Under the layers of now burnt off paint; a faded death watch logo. A keen eye would see that the emblem had been painted over a few times.
The barge disengaged the ship which was now floating into the hangar under its own momentum. She had just enough power to engage the landing systems. The wings folded upward and the ship settled... though looked more like a stumble as the hydraulic systems in the landing gear and wing hubs sputtered; ultimately the ship came to rest. The loading ramp lowered and Calok stepped out; helmet tucked under his arm and his STW-48 blaster rifle slung over his other shoulder.
His mandalrian armor almost matched his ship. Earth tones and seen better days. He surveyed his ship. Checking the damage and shaking his head.
"The things I put you through..."
he said to himself whil running his hand along the batter surface of the hull. He looked around at where he was for a moment before further assessing the damage done and talking to his ship again as if though it could speak back to him
"Looks like we will be here a while"

The Rock was certainly attracting plenty of trade. Kaine was pleased to see Mando'ade among the crowds of merchants, tourists and wayfarers bustling through the Wet Deck.
The Scramble, aptly named, was busy as hell too. From that direction came a warning klaxon. Kaine looked to his forearm's datapad and swore violently as he saw the reason.Kaine Australis did not have the quickest wit, or much of any wit at all; except when it came to combat. In combat, he was something of a savant. Danger brought on a calm and wise almost peaceful anxiety free feeling that he knew exactly what to do. Over time, and experience, that sense had extended to command of others, knowing what to do with what he had in a larger picture. The Field Marshal sprang into action without hesitation, two comm buttons putting his voice over the station's PA. ::Friends of Vegemite, this is Kaine Australis. Don't let the alarms fool you, our station is about to be attacked.
Our galaxy is plagued with diametrically opposed causes; Ashla and Bogan, Sith and Jedi, Imperial and Republic and on and on it goes. Here we have tried to create a society on the principles of Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation and Immediacy.
The asshats about to try boarding this station have decided, in their unimaginative douchbaggery, to stand for everything we Vegemites do not. They are the antithesis of what we are about.
They call themselves the Coordinated Underground of Nihilistic Tribunal Saints. They are fanatics. And they are coming to try to kill us all.::A squad of engineers, seemingly from out of nowhere, ran up to Kaine, and began outfitting the Alor in his Beskar'gam. Working as a team it took them no time at all. Kaine supposed it was inevitable upon starting any initiative in this Kad-forsaken galaxy that somebody was going to set up and make it their life's mission to oppose you. Wars in the kad-damned stars. Oya.::Take shelter, or get ready to fight, my friends. Safe zones are marked::The station's lights all went out, except for glowing holomarkers that projected the location of safe zones for non-combatants. Artfully concealed blast doors leading to bunkers opened up. Armed Mando'ade stacked either side of the entrances.Kaine drew an old lightsaber hilt, and ignited it. The black blade hummed and glowed with intent. He exited the cantina to move towards the main thoroughfare leading from the docks. That was where the scum would come in.
Scans indicated at least a hundred of The Enemy, and Kaine knew they would be comprised of allsorts; lightsiders, darksiders, pirates, criminals, rogue Mando'ade. Just like the Vegemites. Unimaginative chakaare, Kaine thought.Let's go to work. He said to anyone in the vicinity, readying himself for a good scrap. Emergency lights lit the gloom and klaxons continued to sound, as The Enemy began to land their assault shuttles.

After a few more punches, Lynris had been pulled from the man by the other bar patrons. Her knuckles and green face were bloody. A smile came to her lips as she was about to stalk over to help Eshana but alarms began to sound and her hand instinctively reached for her blaster pistol. In the corner, the older man she had spotted earlier was the first to move and his voice filled the stations PA. Kaine Australis. While Lynris mostly had an interest in history a bit further back it would be only a little ignorant of her if she didn't at least know of who Kaine was. It would be hard not to. Though there wasn't time to mull over any of that. They were under attack.
If she knew this was going to happen she might not have went so wild in the bar fight. Her sides ached, bruised most likely but nothing worse. As Kaine's engineers fitted him with his beskar'gam, Lynris swiped her helmet from nearby JD. How nice it must be to have others put your armor on for you. She thought only a little jealous. Her eyes briefly scanning over the man before she made her way back over to Eshana and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Get your friend to the safe zone." Lyn said to the man's two goons Eshana had taken care of. "Eshana, I'll be on the comlink. I'm going to find a decent post."
Lynris did not want to get caught wasting words. She turned to make her way out of the cantina but paused briefly before turning back to face Eshana again, forgetting something.
"K'oyacyi!" She said with a large smile before putting her helmet on and running out.
Outside of the Cantina, Lynris eyed her surroundings as people scrambled about. She saw the way Kaine had went and followed knowing it would be where the thick of battle would be.
"H-Hey! You. Help me up there." Lynris grabbed a passing armored man and pointed up at a stores awning. It wouldn't offer the best protection but it would allow her a good vantage point against the incoming fighters. The man helped lift her with ease as she climbed up and gave her a nod before moving along.
Lynris pulled out her IQA-11 Blaster Rifle and lay down in position. Through her sights, she could see the glow of the blackened saber Kaine held. Again, thoughts she didn't have time to mull over.
