While Onyx poked around among the hardware laid out for sale, the Seeker closed her eyes for a moment, stretching out through the Force as she tried to shut out all the noise and hustle and bustle of the marketplace, listening instead for the guidance of the Force. Then, opening her eyes, and fixing her most disarming smile to her face, she approached the Weequay shopkeeper, who had appeared from behind a curtain and was eagerly edging his way toward Oynx, while trying not to look eager. Focusing on his mind, she tried to get a sense of his character and intentions. He was guarded. Distrustful, but not of them or of anyone currently present. No, his pain was something older, and deeper. He papered over it by playing the helpful shopkeeper, but he wasn't that successful in his business. As to his character, he was hard to read, and she had to pull back to avoid digging too deeply into the man's private thoughts or causing him any harm.
Changing tactics, she spoke to him. "You look like you've been around this market for a while." She patted patted one of the well-worn tables, and gestured to some of his less-interesting heaps of junk, toward the back of the stalls. The Weequay broke off his furtive approach toward the Mandalorian, and turned to face the cloaked woman instead. "How often do scavengers bring in artifacts from the sands out on the desert?" It was a cautious question, but would allow her to get right to the point after she judged his response.
=Weequay= The middle-aged shopkeeper's wrinkled forehead wrinkled even further. "That is a strange request, ma'am." He cocked his head to the side, his expression and his sense in the Force both implying surprise and disapproval more than anger or suspicion. "And, no offense to you, but it's not considered polite to ask how we get our wares." He wasn't mad, despite his words, but the spike in emotion had momentarily broken through some of his walled off mind. She sensed no dishonesty in him.
She let a tiny amount of embarrassment show on her face, and she sensed, rather than saw, Onyx tense up behind her and begin to edge in her direction. She held up a hand. "I apologize, that was not why I was asking. My friend and I." She motioned to the Mandalorian warrior behind her. "Are interested in ancient relics. We were curious if anyone has ever found anything dating back to the era before Tattooine was a desert?"
=Weequay= The Weequay visibly relaxed. "Welllll, there have been some stories, but lemme see ...." He let his voice trail off, and he scratched his head, bumping his leather helmet back farther on his head as he did so. He made a great show of trying to remember. Of course he knew who to ask, but this was all a part of the game, and there had to be something in it for him. He didn't give anything away for free. That was how you ended up starving and wandering the Dune Sea until you sweated out your brains and died.

=Onyx Fett Or'dinii= Oynx had been surprised by the peaceful Jedi's unusually confrontational words, and took a step or two toward the confrontation, but after a tense moment, it passed. Perhaps it had served some unseen purpose. There were a lot of things about her friend that she didn't understand, but she had come to respect the Jedi's results, even though the methods were bizarre by Mandalorian standards. She also admired Echoy'ad for her dedication to her quest. The Corellian's sheer commitment and dedication to finding her missing brother was matched only by one other quest she had ever witnessed: the one for which her husband had given his life.
Perhaps this will help you remember. Onyx drew three or four Mandalorian skulls from her pocket and held them out to the tradesman. She smirked behind her faceplate as his eyes almost immediately lit up in recognition.
=Weequay= The alien rubbed his hands together. "See, my friends, you do understand!" He exclaimed, and eagerly palmed the coins, sliding them into some hidden wallet without ever taking his eyes off his visitors. "You helped Kabdo, now Kabdo will help you. Some rich off-worlders had a dig up north a while back. I don't know exactly what they found, but it was ancient, and it caused a ruckus over at Goh-Eff's. Some big huge secret, one worth killing for. I'm sure if you ask around Goh-Eff's, someone can tell you more." He motioned to another establishment almost directly across the street.
"For a price, of course." He winked.
=Onyx Fett Or'dinii= Thank you, Kabdo. You've been most helpful. Onyx made eye contact with her companion, then they both backed out of the stall and began to weave their way down and across the street toward 'Goh-Effs,' while dodging small speeders, hand- or droid-drawn carts, and foul-smelling livestock. A Jawa bumped into her beskar-plated leg, and cursed at them.

Looking behind them Zed was not sure what Nartaga had been pointing at. He hadn't known the man to be wrong or unobservant but there was clearly nothing there unless he was referring to the the barbequed drumsticks. Whomever, or whatever he had pointed towards had decided to get up and leave. Turning his attention back towards Goh-Eff he gave the man back one of the Mandalorian Skulls he tucked the rest into the pouch of assorted credits that Nartaga had offered up. My friend and I here are planning a trip to the North, we heard rumor of some large herds moving in that direction but we need some supplies. You know of anyone selling Diatium batteries we lost a few out in the sands. We will be sure to bring back some choice cuts for you if you have any requests. Goh-Eff hummed and hawed for a few moments, he considered asking for more credits but the idea of the promise of fresh meat was enough for him. There was a reason his business was located here and not closer to the center of Mos Espa. He wanted to help people, and if he got paid while doing it all the better. There is an old junker back that way he said pointing in the opposite direction that they had come from. A friend of my brothers, I don't know if he will have one of those power cells but thats a good place to start. Nodding his thanks Zed coyly walked by the place where the Shistavaven and the Devaronian had been sitting and when Goh-Eff wasn't looking he took the remains of their meal. More than half of the drumsticks hadn't been touched and he was still recovering from his lack of food. Some might find it disgusting but food was food and when everything was covered in sand a few fingers touching food didn't seem to matter. I wouldn't worry about those ships too much, they are nothing more than luxury items for the few nations who can afford them. They make big targets, and they take a lot of resources to build and maintain. It would be like someone on Tatooine keeping an aquarium. Assuming Nartaga would have no concept of one he made a few signs to help him further understand. Like a status symbol.

Nartaga stiffened slightly as Zed made mention of where they were headed. The Tusken, more than a little paranoid at this point, turned slightly back to double check the two being he had spotted earlier were indeed not there anymore. He wondered if this was any bit as much as how Zed had felt, being in the enclave. Every time he had come into the cities before, he never spoke to anyone besides his client. Even then, he considered that a large risk. Nartaga's feet shuffled around nervously, following Zed over to the table where the Stennes snatched the partially eaten drumsticks. Nartaga did not know what the word 'aquarium' or the first sign Zed used was, but he believed he understood what Zed was saying. He had heard of fish being displayed in tanks full of water by the Hutts and other rich and powerful criminals. Nartaga signed what he believed Zed to be talking about."Lots of blackfish and bluefish?" With Tatooine only having a few oases on its surface, the number of fish on the world was significantly lacking. A fish caught in an oasis on Tatooine was rare, and to someone who had never tried fish or did not have access to the rest of the Galaxy for trade, valuable. The water alone, to properly support the life of such creatures, was itself a show of wealth on Tatooine. It was not something the Tusken had ever seen himself, though.Nartaga signed to ask where they were headed next. The Tusken had been distracted, so had missed what the merchant Goh-Eff had told him. He tried to speak in hushed tone as Zed scarfed down the leftovers from the shistavanen and devaronian patrons. "Zed find battery for lightsaber?" Nartaga looked around nervously, again. They had been in Mos Espa only a short time, but each moment made the Tusken more and more paranoid. Firstly, worried of being outed as a Tusken, of being attacked for his culture. Secondly, for someone to just start a fight for no reason at all, the rumors that spread of the outsider cities among Tuskens speaking of the lawlessness. Thirdly, that the chieftain was somehow watching them and would hunt them down when they did not keep their word. Lastly, for his undying soul when he died and his spirit was judged by Tatooine and the Suns for the lies he had told the Tusken chieftain.

Unlike her heavily armored companion, the Corellian Jedi flowed with the traffic, artfully dodging the rabble in the street to arrive at the entrance several seconds ahead of the Mando. The place which had been named and pointed out as 'Goh-effs' turned out to be a larger and significantly more prosperous marketplace than the one the two women had just left. Not only was the building larger, it had a roof, and some semblance of walls. Entering, the Seeker paused, and had a look around. The near half had been made up with tables, and the air was filled with a gamey smell of meat roasting, while the other side of the emporium was much like the one they had just left, with rusted hardware and duracrete blocks and metal drums and the lower half of a protocol droid, and Force knows what else. Probably a literal bag of bolts, too.
Waiting for Oynx to catch up, she turned her attention the patrons of the restaurant. She skipped over the several groups closest to the door, identifying them as recent offworld arrivals, and searched instead for anyone who looked like a local gossip. There was a humanoid, possibly a Stennes, seated at another table with a hooded and cloaked figure, but the cloaked figure seemed anxious to avoid eye contact, and she discarded the pair as unlikely to want attention. They needed an extrovert.
After a moment, she selected a rough-looking Lethan Twi'lek with a massive scar on his left cheek and braintail, and several empty mugs at his right elbow. He sat alone at a booth, rooted in place almost as if he had always sat there, and several passers-by greeted him with a friendly wave, as if he were a known presence in town. Leaving Oynx by the door, she walking past Zed and Nartaga without a second thought, she sat down across from the red alien, and cocked her head.
"You look like you have a story or two, friend. Buy you a drink if you tell me how you got that scar?"

Finishing up the drumstick he handed the rest to Nartaga then stood up. We go that way he said pointing deeper into the settlement and we will find someone who might have a battery. It was a longshot, and while not having it would not hurt their chances too much, if he could find one it might improve them drastically. Its probably best if we go look and if not lets leave this wretched place.

Nartaga stiffened as he heard more outsiders enter the shop. He did not look up, but the Tusken could hear the boots of someone clad in armor, which made him tense up more. Bounty Hunters and mercenaries could make easy credits by turning in Tusken heads to the local council or the Bounty Hunter's Guild when they declared it 'Tusken Season.' The other being was harder for Nartaga to discern, the footsteps light and quick: but not out hurry, instead Nartaga feeling a precision in the movements of this being. Each step was planned and had purpose. Nartaga, having never sat down, held the drumstick Zed had passed to him and looked at it in confusion for a moment. He then set the half-bare bone back onto the table, without eating any of its succulent meat. Nartaga used a cloth that was on the table to wipe his now greasy glove clean, not using his cloak or robes. The smell of the meat on him would attract predators in the wastes, and he did not wish to do battle with another krayt dragon on their journey. They had barely lived through the first one.The Tusken adjusted the shoulder strap that held his gaderffii on his back before signing to Zed. "More time in city, more likely found out." Nartaga continued with another sign. He doubted that Zed had any connections or favors he could ask of anyone with any sway in Mos Espa in case his identity was discovered, which made his nerves continue to strain. "Know no outsiders can help if discovered." Nartaga combined two signs. "If not find, leave to deadlands. Take chance with old battery." Nartaga finished with a final sign. "Worry bad for spirit. Nartaga worry much here." The Tusken would glance around one last time and stick closely near Zed, his right hand tightly gripping the shaft of his gaffi stick which hung behind his shoulder, in case he needed to unsling it and defend himself at a moment's notice.

=Onyx=While the Jedi dove straight in to the crowd, and made her approach to one of the locals, Oynx remained by the side door through which they had entered, partially concealed in the shadows, and scanned the patrons with her HUD, looking for threats. After a moment, satisfied that Echoy'ad was in no immediate danger, she took a step or two forward. Turning her attention to the less threatening patrons, she adjusted her audio enhancers. Focusing them on a pair of rough-looking humans wearing strange turquoise arm-bands and tawny duckbilled caps made from some type of leather, she listened in. Her display registered at least three metallic weapons on each figure.=Man 1="... and then I said to him, if you've never seen a Krayt dragon, how do y'know you can kill it?"=Man 2= Laughing. "Old Beckart always was brash. That sounds just like 'im, rest his dark soul."=Onyx=Onyx sighed and glanced around the room, looking for a new target. There might be an interesting story there, but it wasn't going to help them complete their mission. Maybe a new tactic? There was a group of Jawas excitedly inspecting one of the piles of scrap at the far end. Maybe they would know something? Then, a flicker of motion caught her attention, and a very-well-cloaked figure gestured to his companion. She tuned in just in time to catch his question."Zed find battery for lightsaber?" Alarm bells began ringing in her head, and she pulled back flat against the wall, into the shadows. She knew how essential it was that they avoid any contact with the Jetii or any other organized group of Force users. Hurriedly, she depressed the tongue trigger for her comm, and alerted Echoy'ad to the danger.Cloaked figure at your ten o'clock. Tall man next to him is eating drumsticks. Cloaked one just asked his companion about a lightsaber. She waited a moment, weighing her next move. Should she remain hidden? But she was not the one who was in danger. The Jetii were in danger - both of them. No, it was better than she serve as a distraction, while the Corellian slipped away before she was recognized. Abandoning stealth, the Mandalorian stepped forward, and began to move steadily toward the pair, scanning them for any additional clues. The cloaked figure appeared to be armed only with a gaffi stick, but her sensors could only do so much without visual data. The cloaked figure was speaking again, although she couldn't make much of it out. But as she approached, she realized they were just as eager to avoid detection as Echoy'ad. "Know no outsiders can help if discovered." Nartaga combined two signs. "If not find, leave to deadlands. Take chance with old battery." That was ... unexpected. She hesitated. What did the cloaked figure mean by 'outsiders'?

Having had his back to the entry when the Mandalorian had entered the shop, when he stood up Zed turned his head slightly at the movement of a man approaching them. All colour drained from his face, and if it were at all possible he became more ashy and grey looking. He did not know if there was a traitor who had leaked his construction of a lightsaber, someone having tracked him, or just dumb luck that a Mandalorian was here. Whipping his head back to Nartaga he made a sign.
Grabbing hold of the underside of the table the Stennes lifted and table and threw it directly at the Mandalorian. The drumsticks and a pile of pones flying in all directions, there was not much force to the throw. It was simply down to distract them and more importantly break his line of sight. Reaching out with his hand Zed grabbed out to Nartagas arm and in an instant he put a Force Cloak over both of them. Although he could feel where Nartaga was, and likewise he could feel Zeds hand on him neither would be able to see or hear the other. Looking down he saw nothing but the floor as the light bent around them rendering them totally invisible to the naked eye and all sensors. Already he could feel a buildup of pressure behind his eyes from the exertion of using this to conceal two people and he had to move fast.
Telepathically sending out an image of Patashu to Nartaga he began to lead the man would of the room back toward the safety of the dunes.
With the clattering of the table on the ground the handful of inhabitants stopped all noise and looked around for the source of the commotion but with the exception of the table knocked over and a Mandalorian standing nearby they could not figure it out.

The Seeker had planned to patiently engage with the locals until she could get someone to share a story that matched what the Weequay had said about a dig up north, and the discovery of a secret that had apparently led to some killings. She knew it might be the first story told, or it might be a closely held secret, and the only way to find out which was to be patient, trust the Force, and liberally ply the locals with booze until someone talked. It was a good, solid Jedi-like plan. But this was Tatooine, and nothing ever went that smoothly in these parts. The scar-faced Twi'lek had smiled jovially at her proposition, but they didn't even get to complete their 'negotiation' before Oynx was in The Seeker's ear.=Onyx=Cloaked figure at your ten o'clock. Tall man next to him is eating drumsticks. Cloaked one just asked his companion about a lightsaber. Kay'li took a deep breath, and held up a finger "Hold on a moment" to the Twi'lek, before turning her head away from him, in the direction her Mandalorian companion had indicated. She didn't recognize the tall humanoid, but the cloaked figure was of more interest, or so she thought. Closing her eyes, she focused cautiously on his or her presence in the Force. She could feel an unfamiliar mind, alien in both species and thought patterns, but there was one overriding emotion that was unmistakable, even without knowledge of this species. Fear. The cloaked figured was utterly terrified of his surroundings. This was not his home any more than a fish is at home on the Dune Sea. That exact analogy sprang to her mind a little too easily, but why? Ah, now she could see it. He longed for the sand. So, he was a native, or a nomad. Then, her eyes flew open as there was a flurry of motion. The humanoid hurled his entire table and all its contents at Onyx, and the pair vanished in a Force-aided flicker that Kay'li knew well. So, he was the Force wielder, not the cloaked figure? Then the cloaked figure must be a native Tusken; he was too tall to be a Jawa. Closing her eyes again, she reached out through the Force, and located their presences. She was still suspicious of the force user, and the danger that she might pose to him by interacting with him, but finding a Tusken in Mos Espa could not be a coincidence. The Force was leading them to something. They are not a threat. Let me handle this. She whispered into her ear comm to Oynx, before turning and casually following the cloaked figured out of the establishment. She knew the force user would pick up on what she was doing sooner or later, but for anyone else watching, including a mystified Mandalorian whose scanners had just been rendered useless, it would look as if she had simply turned and walked out for no reason. The public spectacle none of them wanted had just been averted. In the background, the scar-faced Twi'lek could be heard yelping a complaint.

Nartaga could not see Zed's face, but he could sense the change in the stennes man's aura, and the chill that Nartaga felt run through his own spine as a result was enough to visibly flinch. The Tusken could not tell what had changed his friend's demeanor, but whatever it was, the thought made the hairs on his neck stand up. The R'Crurak Tusken began to look around to see what had upset Zed. "Something wr-" Before he could finish speaking Zed signed to him and flipped the table. To prepare for a potential fight, Nartaga lifted his hooded face to better see the room, potentially outing himself, but spotted an armored being: the one he had heard enter the shop earlier. He remembered Zed had mentioned that his clan had been hunted by people who covered themselves in metal; was this one of those hunters? Come to kill any survivors? Before he could fully react however, he felt a wave of energy wash over him as Zed grabbed his other arm. It was disorienting at first, but he recognized this feeling from when Zed had used it when they were fleeing from the krayt dragon in the wastes.
The Tusken felt an intrusion in his mind, and an image of his bantha mount was conjured to the forefront of his mind. Was this another ability of Zed's? Again he remembered they had briefly spoken of being able to manipulate and read other being's minds and their thoughts, but he had been unconscious when Zed had performed this on him before. It was not pleasant for the Tusken, and it made him very dizzy. This did not help his efforts to keep up with Zed as the duo tried to make their getaway.
Nartaga did his best to try and keep up with the concealed Zed, who was guiding him by his arm. The shaman was having trouble with the quick movement, still not fully recovered from his near death injuries. He had done well to make as much progress as he had, but his condition was nowhere near what it needed to be for any prolonged physical exertion. Running was out of the question, and Zed's pulling would soon resemble more dragging as they rounded the corner into an alleyway. Nartaga breathed heavily, his recuperating lungs struggling to supply his limbs with enough oxygen. Despite his improvement over the past week, it had only been a week since the right side of his body had essentially been shattered. Even with the medicine and healing power of the Or'Rrk'Rkr healer, he could only push himself so far. It was clear he had been putting on an act to make his health seem better than it truly was so as not to worry Zed. The Tusken's legs soon became heavy and unresponsive as he and Zed rounded another corner into a different alleyway. Nartaga gasped for air as he sputtered out several words to Zed to get him to slow down. "Zed....Slow...Can't...Breathe..."

Although he could not hear Nartaga speaking due to the sound dampening effects of the cloak he could feel him start to lag behind. As the duo rounded the corner Zed dropped the cloak the pressure that was growing behind his eyes began to lessen, and he could see how much the Tusken was struggling from the small exertion. I'm sorry. That was a Mandalorian, one of the people who killed everyone I knew. He looked around nervously behind them but didn't see anyone following them at this moment. It might have been bad luck, or maybe they were there for me. I shouldn't have bolted like that.
Exhaling heavily twice he tried to center himself and pushed that fear down. It was still there, but instead of the all encompassing beast it had been now it was just a mild anxiety. Do you think you can make it back to Patashu if we take it easy? Before he could get an answer there was a prickle on the back of his neck. This was different than the fear he had been experiencing. The Force was reaching out to him. Something more was supposed to happen and there was nothing he could do to stop it. But he could be prepared.
Drawing on the training he had received from the Jensaarai Garwig Gil'Ga'Mesh he drew his presence into himself. Burying his presence into the force he would be invisible to those who were reaching out for him in the force. There was no knowing what technology had been created in the past years. If they could measure someone's midichlorian count certainly they could build a device that would sense it. Putting his own hood back up to cover his identity. If you go ahead I can stay behind and make sure no one is following.

=Onyx Fett Or'dinii= If her previous observations had made her hesitate, the table being flung in her direction straight up stopped Onyx dead in her tracks, even before Echoy'ad verbally waved her off. Onyx wasn't surprised by the attack. She had invited it by stepping forward, intentionally triggering a response. Nor did the table pose any particular threat to the armored woman, but it did achieve it's apparent goal of hindering any pursuit. The table landed on its side with a crash, well short of the mark, and the drumsticks clattered to the floor at her feet. Ignoring the scattered bones and the gawking patrons, her attention remained upon the two figures who had suddenly vanished, and she switched her HUD through its various sensor modes, attempting to locate them. But it was useless, and that confirmed what she had only suspected up to this point: at least one of them was a Force user.
Seeing her companion purposefully walk out of the cafe, Onyx turned her attention to dispelling any unwanted attention that might have been drawn by the confrontation. But this was Mos Espa. Within thirty seconds of the table's echo fading from the room, everyone had resumed their previous activities. Everyone except for one: the scar-faced local whom Echoy'ad had approached a few moments earlier.
=Twi'lek= "Hey, come back here miss, you promised me a drink!" He waved his right arm over his head, and moved as if to pursue The Seeker.
=Onyx Fett Or'dinii= No, you don't, she thought as she hastened over to the agitated man. Have a seat, and I'll buy you a round, friend. She grabbed his right arm gently, but firmly.

Following the pair had not been too difficult for the Jedi Knight, as her older brother had made force illusions a focus of his studies, and she had tested herself against him more than once. The duo also moved at a pace that was considerably slower than she would have expected for their body sizes. Rounding the corner of the building, and now out of sight of the onlookers, she suddenly came face to face with the pair once more, as the force user had dropped his visual cloak, and was focusing on something else instead.Suppressing her own presence in the Force, she did not hide it entirely, but merely concealed its full strength and the depths of her training and connection to the Force. She'd already tipped her hand, but these strangers would be in danger if they learned her true identity. Between her own withdrawal, and his concealment, she had lost all concept of her fellow Force wielder, but she could still sense the alien mind. Touching it, she exuded an aura of calm and safety, even as she overheard the last few worlds spoken between them.If you go ahead I can stay behind and make sure no one is following. "No one else is following." She replied simply. The brunette human in her late 30's or early 40's was dressed from shoulder to shin in a faded grey cloak, and smiled when she spoke. She carried no visible weapons, although one couldn't be certain quite what might be hiding under her cloak.

Nartaga visibly teetered for a moment after the force cloak was lifted, and he struggled to catch his breath after they had stopped. The Tusken's breathing was heavy and labored. He felt very light headed from the quick escape, a side effect of not getting enough oxygen due to his still healing punctured lung. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, drowning out most of Zed's words, though the steady pounding became less deafening as he was able to focus more on his breathing. Nartaga clutched at his robes over the right side of his chest, over his lungs. Unable to fully speak, he shook his head at Zed's question of him making it to Patashu, only managing to force out a few words. "Need...breathe...not...right..." The Tusken followed his broken Basic with something in the Tusken language, though it was not a word Zed had heard before. He again felt another presence creep into the boundaries of his mind, but it was different to the Tusken than the image that had been forced by panic to the forefront of his thoughts, because of the short notice, by Zed. It was almost welcoming, which made him instinctively not trust it, despite what he felt from this new presence. Magicks dealing with the mind were new to the Tusken shaman, the possibilities for deception innumerable. He had already been on edge, but if there was yet another outsider shaman, and one that was following them after their close encounter with the armored outsider that had caused such a strong reaction from Zed, he would not drop his guard for anything. Nartaga signed with one hand to Zed, un-shouldering his gaderffii and lifting it. The sentry's hands were wrapped around the shaft of the Tusken weapon in a death grip, for fear the numbness he felt in his hands would cause him to drop it otherwise. His breathing was still ragged in between words, but he was already beginning to recover, at least enough to try and put forward a strong facade."Zed...Go...Nartaga...Slow...Zed...""No one else is following." She replied simply. The Tusken turned to face the outsider as he heard a voice speak out, raising his gaderffii. The Tusken's own hood had dropped back behind his head due to the inside catching the air from their escape, fully revealing his covered face, outing him as a Tusken Raider; one of the most, if not the largest, vilified races on the desert world. The Tusken again repeated the expletive in his native tongue as he saw a humanoid, presumably human, outsider standing before them. He made another sign with his left hand, looking to Zed to ask him what they were going to do. Running was more than likely out of the question. If they were in danger from this person, their only chance was to try and fight. But where was the armored outsider? Nartaga kept his eyes peeled, but something did not seem right here.

Inwardly Zed swore to himself. He had been so focused on making sure that the Mandalorian was not following them that he had missed the mind of someone else who had been in the same room. Someone who had tracked them despite their invisibility. Reaching out Zed re-raised the hood of Nartaga on his behalf. So far this woman had not attacked them and all they needed now was for some passer by the see them. While a gaderffii would have been enough to raise some questions they were sometimes seen in the hands of non-Tuskens. To see one in the hands of an easily identifiable Tusken would have caused alarms to go off all through the city. You haven't shot us yet or tried to kill us. What do you want? Although he tried to make his tone neutral he was still on edge and his voice was slightly raised.
He did not want to have to fight this person. They would only slow them down and give the armoured Mandalorian time to catch up to them.

Kay'li looked back and forth between the Tusken and the very tall humanoid, trying to decide which of the pair to address first. If she were surprised by the presence of a Tusken in Mos Espa, she did not display any outward surprise or anger. This was partly because she did not fear the Tuskens, but also, because she did not know Tatooine very well, and did not realize how unusual and problematic his presence was. If Zed had not suppressed his Force presence, she might have detected his fears, and that they were centered primarily around the Mandalorian they had just left behind. However, she was left with only the emotions of the native, which were a more generic fear of his surroundings, in their totality. She shook her head at Zed's comment, and smiled a crooked smile. "I mean you no harm." She replied, raising her arms away from her sides. "At first, I thought you were someone else." Her eyes focused on Nartaga for a moment. How much would he understand? His mind was ... different than any she had ever encountered. But he seemed intelligent, in an ancient and beautiful way. "I think you can help me with a problem." She had seen some nonverbal communication between the pair. She paused, and clumsily signed to him, before her gaze shifted upward to Zed. "But first, are there other people like you around? I mean, force users?" Now that she'd been close to Nartaga for a few minutes, she began to sense something else besides his desire to flee. He was in pain.

Nartaga tugged at the hood of his cloak with left hand, adjusting it to maintain line of sight on the new outsider, his right holding his gaderffii. He dared not lower it. The Tusken's shoulders lifted up with each breath, still fast but less so than before. As he felt the numbness begin to recede a pain of needles shot up and down his limbs as the feeling returned. His breathing calmed more, but he was still breathing deeply to compensate for the feeling of not getting enough air. Nartaga paused as the woman spoke directly to him. The Tusken tilted his head slightly, his hood shifting with it, as she signed to him. He believed he understood what she was after, but the circumstances of their encounter still gave him great pause. Hesitantly, Nartaga raised his left hand up to be level with his right, still holding his gaderffii pointed at her, to better sign in response. The sign was messy due one of his hands being full, but he still trusted that his meaning got through. If it was a guide she was after, then why had she chosen him? Had she deduced who he was in the shop and just wanted to get him alone to ask for his help? It was not unusual for those he had helped prior to recommend him for others wanting safe passage through Tusken lands, but to outsiders, Tuskens looked very much the same. "How find...Who say...can help?" Nartaga's words were still interrupted by heavy breaths, but he was improving as time continued to pass and he remained still as opposed to running. He slowly brought his left hand back up to his right and signed again to the woman to ask who had referred her to him, and how she had found him. There was also the presence he felt on the borders of his mind before. Was that also this woman? Nartaga again looked to Zed, an unseen frown beneath his mask as he brought his fingers up to his throat with his left hand in another sign as a question posed to the Stennes. Nartaga turned back to the outsider and lifted his head slightly as he spoke, to closely watch her response. "With...Armored One?"

His own eyes narrowed when she asked about other Force Users in the area. He did not believe her for a moment about looking for a guide into the desert. They could have found anyone. She was fishing for information, trying to lure them into a trap. He could feel it. Dropping all pretenses he released his hold on the Force and his emotions would fly forward. The fear and the sadness but above all the anger. Spitting at her feet he looked at Kay'li with daggers in his eyes. I would never give up any other force users to a Mandalorian. If your armoured friend wants to know if there is anyone else then the two of you will need to search for them.

The Tusken seemed troubled when she addressed him. She could tell that he had understood, and his sign in return, although messy, confirmed it. But he had raised a good question, and she wasn’t sure how to answer it. The Force had led her to this pair, and so she had taken a leap of faith, but she couldn’t think of a good way to explain that to him. Maybe a different logic would put him at ease. “No one said. I seek an item buried in the desert. You know the sand.” She signed two words in tandem. ”The people of the town do not.” When the Tusken’s companion said that he would not give up any force users to a Mandalorian, a perceptible wave of relief immediately washed over the Corellian. Without knowing it, he had answered her question. There was no imminent danger of a larger group of force users appearing, and falling victim to the same evil which had consumed her family. She knew it was likely only a matter of time before her pursuers found out she was on Tatooine, but that was an acceptable risk, so long as there was no large group of force users present to attract their attention. “Good …” However, the wording was strange, as was the second sentence. So they knew she was traveling with Onyx, which was too bad, but why was that so controversial? She’d first hired Onyx several years ago, and through multiple jobs, she’d never had never had cause to doubt the warrior woman. “... Oh, we’re not searching for more force users." Her eyes shifted from side to side, checking for eavesdroppers. "I actually would prefer to avoid meeting any others.” But then, as Zed unleashed the emotions and presence that he had been concealing, The Seeker’s mind was almost overwhelmed by the flood of information she was feeling. Her own reaction came in several phases, from disappointment that the very tall man distrusted her, to shock at discovering that his fear had been sparked by Onyx in specific, to horror at the sadness and death and anger that marred his presence like a deep, open wound in the Force. What had the Mandalorians done to provoke such revulsion? She probed a little deeper, seeking to understand, and hoping that Zed would not feel this intrusion was rude. The truth was almost too much to bear. She pulled back, her face flushing almost pure white, and tears forming in the corners of her eyes. She looked the Stennes in the eye, her voice sad, and her own emotions raw and troubled. Her hands, which had been help open at her sides in a disarming stance, flew up to press against her temples.“I-I didn’t know.” She fell silent for a moment, breathing deeply and focusing on Onyx back at the bar.=Onyx Fett Or'dinii=No, you don't, she thought as she hastened over to the agitated man. Have a seat, and I'll buy you a round, friend. She grabbed his right arm gently, but firmly. “The Mandalorian you saw earlier works for me." There was no reason to conceal information, he would only detect the concealment and distrust her further. "She knows what I am, and I have never heard her speak of any vendetta against Force users. I can sense her presence now, and she is not following us. She is having a drink at the bar.” Stretching out her right hand, she opened her mind to him, allowing him to see Onyx as well, through her connection to the Mando. "See for yourself." As she did so, she sensed a third presence for the first time. After a moment, it hit her. The Tusken was strong with the Force as well. She was surprised she hadn’t sensed it previously, but then again, he was the first of his species that she had ever encountered.
