I had also been curious as to whether it was in First Order territory or not. Also not really sure if Lucius would have found himself within this area of FO space yet.

I won't mind neither anyone else going first, depending to where the road leads.
For Malachai it will be interesting, given that her projects sorta revolve around clones and actually bringing back a secret clone army within the Deep Core, that will become at some point more reminiscent of the Grand Army of the Republic than the forces of the First Order and hopefully also become independent from it, once certain events kick in. Meeting actual veterans from the Clone Wars or rather people from that era can thus only be a benefit.
Just need to find a good reason why she's at Dubrillion, though given her past as a former agent of Imperial Intelligence, before she became the Director of the Cloning Institute, it could always be given an important report towards Director Piett or other means, that involve secrecy.
Maybe Lucius could provide the escort, being more or less unaware of what's the reason for the visit and only briefed with the mandatory knowledge of the whole deal.
And at that point they stumble across whatever CT-3949 sets up.

I’ll start by saying I’ll be slow in getting posts out. Still working to come back from a serious lack of desire to write, so my old all in ability is next to nothing. Still having trouble getting posts out decently as I try to sort out my time for everything I try to do. Debated backing out but I do want to get Lucius rolling as a someone within the FO. Just as a heads up.
With that, how do you think it’d work best? Make our approach to Dubrillion and encounter the hail or start after coming back from Dubrillion? Would she be riding along or in her own ship/fleet? Those few details would be enough considering all else would be an unknown for Lucius, making it much simpler.

Guess I would go with a Venator-class Star Destroyer on this one, since it's a good ship that represents the Director well and might also foreshadow some stuff, but is still 'weak' enough to be considered as something that should get at least escorted by either a support fleet or something stronger like the larger ISDs.

We’ll, looking at the atlas, while I know it was brought up an escort, which still works, especially if the escort is intended one way (doubtful). But another reason for Lucius being out that way besides that is taking a tour patrol of the eastern territories, which all mostly fall in a circle route of hyperspace lanes.
But we can definitely start at Durbrillion with the mission complete and the return escort ready to be underway. If a bit of time has passed, Lucius could have done his circle from Durbrillion and returned in time to escort her back.

Not sure if you were referring to the King Sword being a Venator or not, but Padrea’s Venator the Morningstar is the only one present. If that was intended, just ignore me.
