*The young man extinguished his lightsaber. He sat down on a stool next to the workbench and faced his master. When he spoke, his voice was softer than normal.*
“I was born on Mandalore. The armor I purchased from a vendor. After those pirates killed my parents and stole me away, I became Dar’manda...like my twin sister used to be.”
*He elaborated when he saw his master’s confusion.*
“I lost my identity and my heritage. It was...hard.”

Darth Strife:
Despite himself, he listened intently. He understood a bit as to what that would feel like. "Have you ever tracked down your family? You said you had a twin sister?" While waiting for his apprentice to answer, he walked over to a hidden compartment and pulled out a bundle, wrapped in oil cloth to keep it dry and clean.

*The young man nodded.*
“Yeah. My sister was trained by a Jedi for a few years. Her master died in battle. She began losing control of her abilities—when she got too emotional...”

Darth Strife:
He could feel the beginning of a headache coming on. He had expended an incredible amount of energy during the last day or two with training Adonias and he knew he needed to heal again soon. He massaged his temples and irritably asked, "So if you found your sister, why were you alone when I found you and Crystal? Or does family not stick together anymore? I suppose it has been a long time since I paid attention." He took a deep breath, trying not to lash out further at Adonias due to his pain.

“She was adopted into a Mandalorian clan. I wasn’t. I felt like an outsider. So I left.”

Darth Strife:
The sith felt a twinge of sympathy crawl through him and he shuddered. The last thing he needed to feel was sympathy. But despite that, he could understand what Adonias had been through. "What will you do once you have control of your powers? Will you return to your family?" Darth Strife knew what Crystal desired to obtain but he wanted to know what drove his new apprentice to train. Once he understood him, he could truly motivate him. "If I was you, I would be angry with my sister..."

“As far as I’m concerned, you and Crystal are the closest thing to family that I have. I pledge a lifetime of service to you, my master...”
*He paused and considered his master’s words.*
“I was angry. Jealous even. My sister and I came to an understanding of sorts. I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”
* He turned away with a pang of sorrow. For a moment, it felt like he had just lost everything again.*

Darth Strife:
The sith dropped the conversation but inside his mind, he mulled over everything his apprentice had relayed. The boy sounded confused. One moment portraying loyalty and familial love and the next, portraying sorrow and pain. He was conflicted. The dark side demanded everything though so the boy couldn't afford to be conflicted. He would need to confront his need for family and acceptance at some point in the future. For now though, training would do.
"I understand the desire to avoid pain. At some point you must accept it. Today is not that day. We are almost to Tatooine and once there, we must let the force guide us to finding Crystal and her young companion if she indeed has one." Strife sighed and started to walk back to his cabin. Before going inside, he turned back, "Get some sleep, tomorrow is going to be a long day." He then closed the door behind himself and lay down, exhausted. He placed himself into a healing stasis, dreading the nightmares that were sure to come.

*Adonias nodded and walked back to his cell. He gingerly placed the Sith book beneath his bunk and made himself comfortable. He fell asleep before he could pull a blanket over himself, his soft snoring, and the fact his boots hadn’t even made it halfway off of his feet were a testament to his fatigue.*

Darth Strife:
The sith tossed and turned in his mind but his body remained completely still, healing slowly through the force. In his mind, he stood on a grassy cliff, high above a bank of fields stretching out as far as his eye could see. In the midst of the fields stood a dwelling of modest means. The dwelling was small, little more than a hut but it was well built. At first, everything was peaceful. The sound of farm animals could be heard on the still night and children's laughter sounded from inside the dwelling. A smile tugged at his lips as he watched over the scene. He became aware of a torch held in his right hand, it cast a shadow over him and as he watched, it grew and slowly enveloped the land down below. And then fire leapt from the torch itself onto the ground by his feet. Horror rose in him and he tried to stamp out the flames but it was as though for every step he took, the fire burned that much brighter. The fire spread quickly, racing down the cliff and towards the hut. His cries of warning were drowned out by the crackle and hiss of the flames and his tears dried on his face as the dwelling ignited quickly and screams replaced the laughter.
Strife wrenched himself awake, landing with a thud on the floor of his cabin. Breathing hard and sweating he swiped furiously at his face, hand coming away wet with tears. Why? Why after decades was he having the dream again? He couldn't do this again. Drawing in a shuddering breath he shoved every memory away into his brain. He grew anger in it's place, to smother the fear. After he composed himself, he lay back down on his bunk. He knew he wouldn't sleep again, not after that. He counted the minutes until they would arrive at Tatooine.

*Adonias was trapped in an odd dreamscape. He was with Telarial but they were children again. They were laughing and play fighting. His twin sister tackled him and they rolled across the floor of their farm house, wrestling. They laughed even as their mother chastised them for rough-housing. Mother told them to wash up for supper. Just as they were about to listen, smoke filled the room. They began coughing and screaming in terror as flames licked at the walls of their dwelling.
Fire! Fire and heat! So intense, Adonias screamed in terror.
“Father! Father! Save us!”
*The acrid, roiling black smoke made the boy cough harshly. He crawled on his hands and knees, searching for a way out. Adonias woke up screaming, covered in sweat. Unsure of where that nightmare had even come from...*
“AHHHH!!! HELP ME!!!”

Darth Strife:
Having hardly even settled on his bunk, Strife bolted upright at the sound of Adonias calling for help. He ran to the boy's open cell, not knowing what to expect. The cries sounded terrified but they were in space, not easily attacked. He arrived to see the boy waking up. It appeared that they both had suffered from a nightmare. His breathing slowed and pulse evened out. "Adonias? Wake up..." He gently shook the boy's shoulder even as he saw Adonias was groggily waking up. "I think you had a nightmare."

*The young man bolted upright, nearly colliding with Darth Strife who was shaking his shoulder. Instinctively, he jerked away, raising hands up defensively as his confused, groggy mind slowly returned from the nightmarish haze. He coughed as though choking on something.*

Darth Strife:
The sith scooted back, giving the boy space to fully awaken. "What were you dreaming of, my apprentice?" Concern was evident in his voice. Strife frowned, puzzled by the fact that the force had shown them both such a violent vision on the same night. Perhaps they were more linked than he thought.

*Adonias inhaled sharply as the coughing fit died down. He ran a tired hand over his face, his body briefly shuddering as the nightmare remained fresh in his mind. His gaze shifted to the door across from his bunk, his expression apart from being torn, hurt, and confused, was also reflecting his own disbelief.*
“I-I...thought I was dreaming about the pirate raid. It wasn’t...this was different. Like an actual memory but it felt so REAL. Our farm was burning....only this time, there were no raiders. J-just our home up in flames.”

Darth Strife:
The sith jolted in surprise, leaning back and away from the young man. That dream. His tired and confused brain rationalized it. There were many farms and many fires in the world. That didn't stop him from mentally calculating the boys rough age and realizing the timing fit. "Was that a memory from your childhood?" He asked the question carefully.

*Adonias rubbed his sleep filled eyes, missing the Sith master’s adverse reaction to his nightmare retelling. He shook his head as he focused back on Darth Strife.*
“To be honest... I have no idea. It seemed so real.”
*He sensed they were nearing Tatooine...his demeanor darkened as his rage and lust for revenge boiled back to the surface. A sinister smile, perhaps one quite similar to the ones often seen on Darth Strife's face, parted his lips.*
“Crystal... she’s near. Let’s go give her a warm welcome, Father.”
*Adonias chuckled darkly as he moved swiftly off of his bunk, he took the ancient Sith text and his lightsabers, and returned to the co-pilot seat in the cockpit. Figuring his former cell would suit Crystal better than himself.*

Darth Strife:
He pushed aside his suspicions as the ship shuddered slightly. They had come out of hyperspace by Tatooine. It was time to hunt. A thrill of anticipation filled him, swiftly and viciously. He couldn't wait to destroy the girl who left him. His line of questioning forgotten, he responded to Adonias. "It's time she understands how powerless she truly is, my apprentice." He stood and went to his cabin where he picked up the bundle he had collected earlier from the concealed compartment. He followed Adonias to the cockpit and silently handed the bundle to him. "I thought you might want this now that we have caught up to the betrayer. Always remember your past and use it to further your future." He didn't wait for a response but sat in the pilot seat and maneuvered the ship down to the planet below.

Shakk, both palms resting on her temples and eyes tightly closed through brother teeth spoke -Shakk- "l really am sick aGid." She opened her eyes at last but her words were not encouraging -Shakk- "Why'd your head get smaller Alem?" The muscular girl moved and was now sitting with Shakk in her arms. And Gid piloted the ship desperately. The words, no, the voice sacred her -Gid- "Alem. Be ready to give her a PRN." The muscular woman just nodded then Shakk screamed out -Shakk- "Gid take a right! Now!!!!" Listening to her sister Gid thought that she heard something snap in her lower back as she fought with the ship to turn the ship. And off they skipped. Gid mumbled -Gid- "Shakk better be right...."

Ripping recklessly into hyperspace with a total disregard for human life, or any other sentient being including themselves a, you got it, Firespray Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft tore a strip down the hyperspace highway. Onboard were out three beloved, well that's a lie, they just ain't hated - yet. Where was I? Right! So, these three loons are on a year sitting the pot..... Why? Because they can. That's why. Now back to our story. Pretty shaken, now that they back in the very real make believe reality that this is, Shakk blurted out -Shakk- "We're gonna be wanted - in all systems!" Shaking her head her Gid, one of her sisters answered -Gid- "That's just nonsense. Who has the time to waste chasing us three in some souped up prison barge to all corners of the know universe and beyond when they got wars to win... societies to oppress... actually important people to kill - huh?" Her other sister jumped into the verbally beat down Shakk fest - Alem- "She's right to chastise you; that's the type of madness nobody in their right mind would attempt to sell as a story. They never get anywhere." Things got quiet for a long moment, as the ship bombed along though space and and the sisters individually contemplated their place in the whole scheme of things. Then from out of nowhere Shakk asked, utter bewilderment in her shaky tone -Shakk- "Gid, if the First Order is so sophisticated how come they can't come up with a second command?" Somewhere betwixt the utter stupidity of that question and the rather catchy pun, both Gid and Alem laughed for a good long stretch. So much so, that even Shakk forgot that she asked a question and joined in the chortling. Finally the blue Twi'leck inquired -Shakk- "What are we laughing about?" And ironically that only created more laughter among her sisters. And, not surprisingly , Shakk joined in the growing there too. Happy times are here again.... Gid made an abrupt turn. And while Alem sat buckled in and safe, Shakk was tossed into a wall
