Endor pulled out a datapad from his flight jacket and quickly scrolled through the information provided by the High Lord. His green eyes flicked back and forth as he examined each ship, then seemed to widen in eagerness as he made it to the last and most impressive of the lot as far as he was concerned. He looked up from the data-pad, the self-same grin still spread across his face, making his beard seem bushier than it actually was."This is the one." He turned over the screen and indicated the Orion-class. "It looks like it could tangle with an Imperial-class Star Destroyer and come out the better of the two, with enough hangar space for a few combat squadrons." He could already picture what it would look like with his command staff on the bridge and a small army of ewok gunners manning those cannons. They could punch a hole right through a planetary blockade, perhaps even liberate an Imperial world with a smaller garrison. It would give them flexibility. He tucked the data-pad under his arm and momentarily looked at the ground as he counted fingers on one hand. Math was never his specialty and right now he was performing at least one equation in his head: how much they would owe. He looked up, pursing his lips as he considered how best to approach negotiations."I don't want you to think we're asking for something for nothing here." He put up his hands and waved them about defensively. "We're just a little short on credits at the moment. Between my family connections and our allies on Hoth, we have food stores and traditional herbal medicines we can trade to help cover the debt. We've also happened upon a cache of permafrost crystals when we were recovering Echo Base. They aren't much use to the Alliance but I imagine the Jedi under your command could make better use of them."Finally there was his last offer, and this really explained Endor's moral character better than anything else. "I also want it to be known that starships aside, if you need help with the refugee crises coming out of the core, we can help. We might not have room at Echo Base, but I'm certain the ewoks of Bright Tree Village on the forest moon could be talked into accepting refugees. While they lack a few of the more modern amenities, they have food and shelter in abundant quantities." A little stoicism seeped into his tone. "You aren't in this alone, Lucien. Some of us just showed up to the fight a little late, is all."Up until a few months ago he'd been living the life of a druid, ignorant of the wider crimes being committed throughout the galaxy. He didn't plan on being found absent, or wanting, again.

Ewoks? Lucien could hardly imagine refugees relocating to the isolated system of Endor. And that's not saying because of a plush lifestyle or a disdain for the natural, but these refugees needed more than just shelter and food. They wanted to work, they wanted a purpose in life more than anything. So many times, the High Lord had been approached by leaders of the refugees, requesting work wherever it might be found. The Agricultural Corps, which was run by a group of Ysanna and Neti, had gotten an influx of workers who just wanted to do something. Not many joined the Archaeological Group, but there was a need for builders and those who could work at the courts and retinues of the various Jedi Lords.
Endor, your offer is most gracious. I am sure there are some among the refugees that would like some peace and quiet.
Which was true about where the Ewoks lived.
But many of these want to work. I am not sure the Forest Moon of Endor would afford them much of that. I have gotten constant requests from these people about jobs, even if temporarily. We have done our best to give such a purpose and drive. Thankfully, with Ossus being rebuilt and revived, we have plenty of openings to assist in their desire to be contributing.
A handful were even helped find work off-world with cousins and relatives elsewhere. It was a lot of work, but Lucien did his best. He had even opened up a Jedi-led organization to assist with work, housing, and even relocation if they so desired. A means to make things flow better.
As for the Orion-class, one will have to be built. The only one in service is my personal flagship, in orbit at present.
Lucien even looked upward for a moment.
She will likely be making a pass over Knossa in the next hour if you wish to see it in person. Her typical route involves as such.
The Jedi then looked at Endor after glancing up at the sky. Endor had mentioned payment in the form of the cache of permafrost crystals. They would be a nice requisition for the pupils on Ossus as the only other source of Jedi igniting agents were the Yuuzhan Vong's crystals from the Lambent fruit and any synthetic ones that could be harvested from the Eocho Mountains.
I will accept the offer of the cache. But don't worry too much about any future or immediate payments, Endor. Whatever funds you make, keep to yourselves for the purpose of your cause. Ossus sits upon the Perlemian Hyperroute and we still manage to get some funding through its traders and merchants.

Unlike his best friend Tarfang who would have happily taken something for nothing, it sat a bit more uneasy with Endor trading a cache of crystals for a powerful starship. Don't misunderstand, if it had just been about taking advantage of a wealthy lord's generosity, he wouldn't have flinched at the chance. However, Lucien's mention of a refugee crises made him concerned he was potentially taking away from people in dire need. He would simply have to trust the High Lord at his word when he said not to worry about it.
He nodded, still smiling warmly. "I understand, and I speak on behalf of the NRA when I say we appreciate your generosity. Please do keep in mind what I said about the Forest Moon. I know people can get a bit apprehensive at the mention of ewoks, but the reputation about their...unique diet, is mostly unfounded. They're good people." He chuckled, shaking his head. "They're my people." He didn't elaborate further on that point. Lucien would have to draw his own conclusions.
Lifting the data-pad in his hands, he transmitted one of the emergency frequencies that NRA was currently making use of to Lucien's gauntlet device, before slipping the data-pad back into the inner lining of his flight jacket. He locked eyes with the High Lord.
"I've just sent you one of the emergency frequencies we regularly monitor. If you ever find yourselves in need, or unable to reach someone who may need help, don't hesitate to call. We're here to do our part, however we can, whatever form that takes." He looked up at the sky, then back to Lucien. "I think I will stick around long enough to catch a glimpse of the Orion, after which it's back to work for me, but I'll have that cache I mentioned transferred before I leave."
He extended his right hand, offering it to Lucien.
"Thank you."

Lucien extends his hand and has it shake Endor's grasp firmly. The High Lord hoped that there was a better understanding of his branch of the Jedi Order. Seemed there was a bit of a misunderstanding, for a moment, but they managed to get through. Speaking of the refugees though, Lucien turns and gestures in direction of where they were housed, within some spare buildings and shelters that were relatively modest.
Maybe there are some that may wish to join you in your cause, Endor. These refugees desire a purpose after all and they may find that purpose within the rank and file of your organization. I would rather they be fighting for something than living under a dark cloud of emotions.
There were certainly veterans of the Coalition among those displaced. These people were offering to join security details, enlist in the various branches of the Jedi Lord's forces, and found work with what they could manage. But there were certainly those that desired to fight sooner than later. Perhaps Endor's group could give them that higher purpose that they sought after.
Once the Orion-class is ready, it will be left at a undisclosed location, manned by droids from the Separatist era caches we found on Serenno. Anything else that can be spared will be left upon the vessel. I won't make promises, but we will see what we can do.
Lucien paused as a shadow began to fall over Knossa, causing him to look upward as the Orion, the first vessel of its class, lumbered over the capital along its patrol route. Flanked, on either side, were a pair of Foxfire-class Archonian Gunships that assisted with its scans and patrol duties. With that said, Lucien would excuse himself, giving a formal farewell, before departing for his shuttle to return to his castle and thus his duties.

Endor stayed and watched the Orion pass by in orbit overhead. He used a set of macrobinoculars to take a closer look, zooming in and out a few times as he performed a careful inspection. Just like the image he had seen on his data-pad screen, the battle ship was impressive, bristling with more guns than he knew...well, scratch that thought. He knew exactly what he was going to use them for. He grinned, lowering the visual enhancer from his eyes. Oh yeah, he had plans for her.
He also took Lucien up on his offer of talking to some of the refugees. Not all were receptive to his message, most having recently fled one war zone, so understandably they weren't all ready to head back into another. There were some though that remained unbroken, now with more of a fire in their belly than ever before. Having ones home taken from you can have that effect. Before leaving he took several names and contact information of refugees interested in aiding the Rebel Alliance. The General sent word to the Mossflower in orbit to arrange transport for those that would be coming with them.
A few hours later and General Endor's T-65 X-wing lifted off the tarmac and headed back into orbit.
