Once Emma and Luxeria had entered the cargo pod, Jack and Crowdarr followed. Once in Jack could make out that several crates were marked 'For Military Use Only', which usually meant Military Grade Weapons. Jack knelt down by one and opened it to view the contents, and there was indeed blasters inside, closing the crate and standing back up, Jack motioned for Crowdarr to start moving the crates that were marked 'For Military Use Only'. Jack knew that the weapons within the crates would fetch a nice profit, once they were in Hutt Space. Jack also began to move the weapon crates off of the cargo pod and back aboard the Renegade as quickly as he could since the pursuers could show up at any moment, sure the rest stop was a little tricky to find but it was not impossible. As long as he and Crowdarr procured as many weapon crates as they could, their employer should be happy.

Emma gave a nod in response to Luxeria, before venturing further into the cargo pod. While the military gear was a little more obviously marked, despite everything being in another language, Emma would have to do a little more research to find the items she wanted. At least, that was, until the program had been running in the background finished its analysis. A small popup appeared on her visor then, advising that the language was Mando'a. Several crates started to auto translate as she looked at their labels. A quick listing of their contents coming up.
With this new information, she was a little more quickly able to locate several crates. The first of which she cracked open to find one of several shipments of Nova Crystals. She was going to have to grab as many of these crates as she could if she wanted to ensure she made a decent profit. While Nova Crystals were extremely valuable, Emma did not want to put it past who ever was shipping these to have included some fake crystals within the shipment.
Spying a hover dolly just off to the side, She moved it over into position. She paused for a moment to disengage the cannon on her forearm, so that she could more easily load the crates onto the dolly. While it left her right forearm unprotected, it was better than trying to one hand lift and load these crates

Once things began to get sorted out by Emma as to what crate held what, Luxeria began doing her own work in removing the cases. Jack had Crowdarr, Emma found a dolly, leaving Luxeria to use the Force to begin moving things out. One by one, cases of crystals and anything that seemed to catch the attention of her or Emma. It would be much easier to see what was inside in clear light as well as sort out who was getting what.

Jack and Crowdarr had almost finished moving all of the weapon crates that they needed, almost two dozen in all. Jack stood just outside of the pod as Crowdarr moved the last of their crates and lit one of his sweet williams cigars. Jack had a feeling that this haul would be a good one, once they were done here he and Crowdarr needed to head back to Contrumm and pick up Xodon and then head off to Nal Hutta where they would sell the weapons to the Hutt Cartel on behalf of the Gallucci family.
"Well Ladies if you even need some assistance in retrieving precious cargo, feel free to give me a shout. Actually give me a shout if you gals are ever down for some fun."
Jack gave both ladies a wink and proceeded to walk towards his ship. He have to admit that this heist was fun plus he got to meet two dangerous beauties, so all in all it was a very good heist. Once he and Crowdarr were both on board The Renegade, Jack began to the takeoff sequence, shortly he and the rest of his crew would be together and getting paid. The Renegade exited the Space Station's hangar and jumped to hyperspace.

Luxeria watched as Jack took his leave. She gave a quick scoff and shake of her head as she continued pull out more crates. Got what he wanted and left. The again, it wasn't as if it was unexpected. They did their job and got the pod to a location where they could unload. Sure, time was of the essence, but he got what he wanted, so what other reason to stay? Help the girls out? Like they couldn't handle their own job. After all, Emma had come with her, so it was only expected she'd leave with her. They'd load her ship up with all they could carry before heading out and leaving what was left. The Empire could find and retrieve it or any smugglers that showed up next could help themselves.
She didn't realize, though, just how short their time was until her communicator went of. Bringing it up, she heard Kyra speaking. ::Three ships have been detected leaving hyperspace. Their current path has them heading straight for us.::
Letting out a growl, she replaced her commlink. "Looks like they've caught up to us." She looked around, seeing that none of the crates had even been loaded yet, only pulled out to be checked first. If they tried taking the time to load it all, the weight, along with the late departure would certainly have them caught. If they had a decoy, something attacking them, it could spare them just enough time to make the jump to hyperspace. But jack had just left, leaving only them and a single ship. Despite all the work, it seemed they'd have to drop and go. "Emma..."
It was at that time that she heard the sound of something entering the hangar. She looked over to see a YV-929 armed transport land. Suddenly, a smirk came to her face as she got an idea. "I've got a plan."

Emma nodded in response to Jack's comments about reaching out to him if she ever had need of some help. While he had been a little late to the party, he had kind of saved her life when he'd hooked the cargo pod with his ship. However, any sort of gratitude she felt toward him evaporated into thin air a few moments later as he jumped into his ship and took off. Had she kept her gun attached to her right arm, she would have shown her displeasure a little more aggressively. Instead, she let out a sigh as she brought the hover dolly to a stop.
She turned toward Luxeria then, as the Sith woman stated their time was up. Without a second thought, she slipped her arm back into the gun and started hauling ass toward Luxeria's ship. She came to a standstill as Luxeria called her name a few moments later. Time was not their ally in this fight, and while she did not intend to leave empty handed, it was starting to seem like their only option.
And then a miracle occurred. A YV-929 drifted into the hangar bay, touching down not too far away from where they were standing. Even before Luxeria spoke, Emma had a good idea of what the other woman was planning Commandeer that ship? I very much like this plan... Locking the dolly into place, Emma then turned properly towards the new ship and rushed toward the loading ramp. Her gun raised and ready to start shooting anyone that might come out ready to resist them

Luxeria watched as Emma reattached her gun and began running towards the ship, feeling the desire of commandeering the ship. It was certainly one way to go, but she felt there was a better option. Swiftly, she moved to catch up to the woman, hand raising to Emma's gun and pushing it down gently. "Perhaps we can do this an easier way."
It wasn't but a moment later that someone began their descent down the ramp. Luxeria stepped, moving to stop the man from getting too far. "Excuse me, sir. You wouldn't happen to be the captain of this vessel, would you?" The man stopped and looked Luxeria over, pleased with the first sight he was seeing upon landing.
"Indeed, I am. Captain Rian. What can I do you for, miss?"
There was no doubt he was looking for a name along with whatever request she might have had. But she didn't waste time with her name, nor was she about to risk any time with negotiation. This man seemed to have a bit of an interest in beautiful women, already making him susceptible to her influence. With the aid of the Force, she slipped into his mind, working to persuade him into helping them. Making him feel willingly to do it was much better than force. "My friend and I here are caught up in quite an issue. We have some items that we need to deliver and we seem to be having issues with my ship. We've no time to assess what's wrong with it as we are on a timetable. Would you be so kind as to help us? Surely you wouldn't leave us two ladies to fend for ourselves?"
It seemed to take no time for her influence to take effect as he agreed rather quickly. Perhaps he was just willing to help two beautiful women anyway, provided he thought he would get lucky along the way.
"Not a problem, ma'am. I've got plenty of room. Let's get her loaded up."
Disappearing into his ship for a few moments, he then reappeared as the cargo bay doors opened with three other men. They seemed to be a little more cautious as to what was going on considering their captain had suddenly returned saying they were going to be helping some ladies out. She directed them to the cargo pod they had brought and the crates inside. "We need to load every possible container you can carry. When we get to where we're going, you'll get a couple crates for yourselves. That should be payment enough to keep you men going." As they began loading, she walked over to Emma. "A bit easier than holding them at gunpoint. They move a bit faster when you play to their weak points."
She gave a laugh before looking at her own ship, giving a sigh. "I'm going to miss her."

Emma came to a stop as the Sith Woman placed a hand upon the Light Repeating Blaster, suggesting that there was another way to go about this whole situation. It wasn't long before she was watching her new found friend's plan swing into action as the Captain descended the ramp and was rather quickly persuaded to assist them in moving their cargo. Being that she was clad in her armour, Emma suspected that Luxeria had performed some kind of Force trickery to show the man what she was like beneath it.
Her looks were not something she ever really liked to rely on. While she was not oblivious to the effect they had on men, she had just never been raised that way. Couple that with the years of experimentation that had been done and the training she'd received in that same program. Suffice to say, she was more of a soldier than a glamour girl. Which in turn affected the way she thought and acted.
She stood by and watched as Luxeria got the Captain to agree to help them out. With her free hand, she disengaged her helmet and took it off, letting her hair fall free and taking a breath of slightly less stale air. She held her helmet under her arm as the crewmen appeared a few moments later and got to work loading as many crates as they could move within the ever drastically shrinking time frame Perhaps... I suppose I'm just used to a good fight... She turned toward Luxeria's ship then as well. Thankfully she had only brought her current suit along for this mission, meaning she had left nothing on the craft that was going to be left behind I'm sure... But with the haul we've got? You can replace it easily enough. Besides... Sometimes you just need to let go of the past, so you can create a future... Emma's graze drifted to the crewmen as they hurried back and forth, moving the crates already out of the cargo pod and grabbing new ones from within

Luxeria gave a laugh at the mention of getting another one with the haul they had gotten. That had never been an issue, either through her own wealth due to her family or even her place in the Blackguard. But she let those thoughts remain her own. In the end, it was a way of letting go of those few ties to the past and working to create a future more her own. She had already been thinking about it and found a ship to replace it with, but she certainly hadn't expected to have it made so soon or like this. But it was the way it was. No changing that now. If anything, they should be thankful that a new option presented itself for them to still take what they gained and get away.
As the crew worked to load the bays full to their limit, Luxeria moved aboard her old ship, taking the time to look it over one last time before gathering a few things. Once her bag was full, she entered the cockpit and took a seat. "I wish there was another way out of this. But thank you for your aid. You know what to do?"
There were a few moments of silence before Kyra spoke. ::Yes. I will distract them for as long as possible so you can get away safely.:: Without another word, Luxeria made sure all systems were up one final time before making her way off the ship.
By the time she was done, the crew had finished loading everything they could and were boarding the ship. Making her way to Emma, she gave a nod. "We're all ready here. Go ahead and get on board and have them ready to go. We can't waste a second." She waited for Emma to get clear before she turned to the cargo pod and anything that remained inside. Reaching out both hands, she used the Force to lift it. It took a few moments before it was high enough in the air. Pushing it as far away from the entrance as she could, she took a breath, preparing herself. With a heavy grunt, her hands then moved forward as it sent the cargo pod moving through the hangar, slowly picking up speed as it cleared the shield and flew out into space and into the path of the ships. If they were lucky, it would buy them a few more moments.
She turned to look at her ship once last time as Kyra took full control, lifting the ship off the ground and turned itself towards the hangar entrance. Not wasting another moment, Luxeria ran for the YV-929 and moved up the boarding ramp as Kyra took off out of the hangar. Once free of the station, she put the hammer down and began picking up speed. Flying past the cargo pod as it flew along in the vacuum of space, she began firing upon the ships, working to get close as possible to take out the point defense lasers either through her own laser cannons or her fully loaded concussion missiles. Passing by cockpit, engines, and guns, she did all she could to keep their attention away from the station for the team's escape. When the time came that she was finally hit, she turn the ship towards the one of the outer most ships and plunge inward, to hopefully plow it over into the others, unloading everything she had left along the way.

As Luxeria headed off to give her ship one last look, Emma placed her helmet back on. Her HUD coming back online quick enough to give her a status report. Scans revealed a fair amount of the cargo had been loaded, meanwhile the information stream from Luxeria's ship showed that the warships were rapidly closing in. Knowing this information already, she merely gave a nod to Luxeria before rushing off to board their newly appropriated ship and crew No time to waste, get the engines primed for take off and set the hyperspace jump co-ordinates for this location... Emma handed one of the crew members a data chip which had the co-ordinates of a rendezvous point where they could offload the cargo and either sell it or move it on to other places. Meanwhile, her gaze traveled out of the viewport. Watching as Luxeria moved the giant cargo container and sent it flying out of the hangar bay, the Sith's ship taking off after it Go, go, GO! As soon as Luxeria stepped foot on the boarding ramp, the controls were activated and closing it. The repulsorlifts fired up and cleared the YV-929's landing gear from the surface of the hangar bay. The giant metal feet retracting as the pilots swung the freighter around and pushed the engines to full speed. the ship rocketing out of the hangar bay, angling away from the conflict zone Punch it! Without skipping a beat, the pilots ran up the hyperspace engine and activated the controls. The star studded void being replaced by the comforting blue glow of hyperspace. A sight Emma much preferred to enjoy from within an actual ship, and not the method she'd last been forced to endure. Leaving them to their task. Emma headed from the cockpit to find Luxeria

Luxeria didn't even watch as Kyra took her ship out the hangar, moving straight up the ramp as it closed behind her. She couldn't let herself stop until there was no way to look back. While it was only a ship and getting one was easy enough, it was a matter of just letting go of a piece of her past. And no it was done as she felt the ship move out of the hangar. She stood there, at the base of the ramp for only a moment before moving towards the cockpit.
She never got there as Emma found her. She had already heard the sound of the hyperdrive kicking in, felt the initial burst of force that accompanied it, but seeing Emma head down here as calmly as she did meant they had gotten away. Kyra had kept them tied up more than enough to keep them from getting to them and possibly even from sorting out their direction. "We did it. Got away with more than we intended to. All that's left is getting us home." She gave Emma a smirk as she headed up to the cockpit. No doubt Emma had already given them coordinates for her drop off, which was fine. They had all the time they needed now. The job was done and they were successful. She had lost a ship, but it only meant that she could move forward with her initial plans sooner rather than later.

Continued from - HerePart 3 The station in the Wayland system hadn't been hard to find. It was almost as if the slavers thought they didn't have to hide. In the shabla Mandalore Sector, too. Kaine wasn't having any of that.
Intelligence had taken less than a standard day from the raid on the Zygerrian Transport to provide Kaine with the location of the station. The children rescued from the slavers had been cross decked to a medical ship, and the Wild Boar was now sitting a short jump outside the Wayland System, ready to go into action.
Kaine had sent in a Lightstealth-18 recon craft to scout the station. It had defences, and they'd picked up several hundred lifesigns. On the strength of that information, he'd ordered in a squad of his very best infiltrators; The Night Witches.
These commandos were formed from a core group of former Mistryl Shadow Guards from Emberlene, who trained their sisters in the arts of combat and infiltration. They were equipped with state of the art technology, including holoshrouds, and able to slip into most security perimiters without drawing attention.
Kaine was waiting on the squad, led by one of his Jare'rami'kade; Riva Shiel, a Shistavanen Mando'ad who was as tough as she was silent, with a wicked gallows sense of humour. Riva's whispery voice came over his comm, relayed by the Lightstealth, which was sitting off the station. ::We've secured the Hutt. Ready for your grand entrance.::Kaine commed back. ::Nice work. There in five.::He stood up, which told the Mandos in the crew compartment of the Tra'kad that the mission was on. Wild Boar jumped into the system and dropped off the Tra'kad, which approached the station.Kaine commed the station. ::This is Kaine Australis to see Mongo the Hutt.::There was a brief pause, the unannounced visit clearly rattling the moron on duty. He sounded inexperienced, which was no surprise, Hutts were notoriously cheap. The witches had clearly done their job well, because clearance came with no issues. ::You are cleared to land, sir.::
Kaine smiled inside his helmet. This was going well so far. The Tra'kad touched down, and the Australis Alor exited. A squad of Copad Guard exited with him, but they stayed with the squat, ugly craft. A pair of blaster toting Nikto flanked the hatch and fell in behind Kaine as he walked into the station. A rusted and dirty hallway led to the Hutt's audience chamber, which was packed. Kaine was surprised to see the Hutt on the dais, apparently unharmed and not under anyone's guns. Riva had said they had secured the Hutt. Inside his helmet, he commed her an order. There were twelve of the team on the station including Riva herself. ::Riva, locstat on your team.::The reply came back with a smile audible. ::Nine of the guards in the room with you.:: Kaine asked the obvious question. ::And the other three?::
Riva was positively mirthful. ::We're the Hutt.:: The shabla holoshrouds, of course. Somehow three of the witches had managed to combine their efforts to impersonate Mongo the Hutt. Impressing their Alor in an entirely new way, Kaine had to tip his hat to the display. ::Oh, very nicely done.:: Riva thanked him as the Hutt gave him a thumbs up. Cheeky, thought Kaine, scanning the room. No one important, no Zygerrians, or wanted beings. Just chancers who'd picked the wrong place to be. No need to kill them. The guards were another matter, though the night witches had replaced nine of them and they would have the element of surprise, there were at least twenty or thirty visible, which meant at least that number again elsewhere. Not too many to fight, but enough that it would be a pointless slaughter. The witches could handle them, and with the guard in the hangar, it would be over quickly. Kaine was more interested in getting to the source, not bathing in blood. Quickly, he made up his mind to spare those who didn't ask for death. Kaine spoke up, which hushed the room to silence quickly. He was unreadable behind the T-visor, but his eyes were on an armored Twi'lek with a power blaster who looked to be in charge. I'm giving you a chance to walk out of here. Anyone who points a blaster, dies here.
Anyone who walks away now, can go. My business is with the Hutt. The Twi'lek, rifle still cradled, looked to Kaine. This is Mongo's station, Mando.Kaine spoke first to the witches. ::Unmask now, but don't shoot unless you have to.::It was too easy. Before any of the real guards could react, nine of their fellows had become black clad, pistol toting infiltrators. Kaine spoke to the Twi'lek, not unkindly. It was. Kaine pointed to the dais, where Riva and two of the Night Witches stood. The Twi'lek looked carefully, and sagged when he saw them. The rifle's barrel dropped to the floor. Around them, as if that were taken for a sign, the other guards lowered their weapons. Kaine nodded. Good choice. He watched the guards all file out like schoolchildren, covered by the commandos. Kaine then approached Riva.Where's the Hutt?Riva leapt down from the dais, thumbing in the direction of a hatch. We knocked him out. She led the way. Kaine followed in her wake. How do you knock out a shabla Hutt? He wanted to know. Trade secret. Riva said, rattling a garotte wire by way of explanation. The Hutt was squashed into a corner of what had been a storage room, snoring. Kaine kicked the tail none too gently with a booted foot, and the large eyes flickered, then opened wider. HOW DID YOU! The sluglike crime lord boomed. Kaine kicked again to shut him up. I'll ask the questions. The Hutt wasn't cowed. You can't do this! The Cartel will put a price on your head!Kaine cocked his head. Let them. That got a reaction, though the defiance was still there. I won't tell you anything.Kaine unsheathed his axe. Sure you will. The Hutt pressed himself back against the bulkhead. You'll never be able to go near a civilized system again!Kaine tapped the beard of the axe against his vambrace, the beskar ringing with an approving echoing tone that he figured had to sound like the crack of doom to the cowering Hutt.To be continued...

Wayland SystemThe cleanout of the crime-ridden space station complete, Kaine took his frozen Hutt prize to Kashyyyk to beard the Cartel in their own den. Wayland, though had to be cleaned out too. Scans of the world had detected some settlements that weren't locals. Closer inspection had shown them to be slaver camps. Set up by the Hutt, Kaine didn't doubt. He'd sent in his Mando'ade to clear those out too.
With capital ships for Clan Australis currently at a premium, Kaine had leased an old Clone Wars era flotilla to transport troops and material to the nearby Wayland system from Myrkr, by way of Mandalore, where they hooked up with some heavy reinforcements, mostly reconditioned Basilisk War Droids and Canderous Assault Tanks. Old, but fully functional and deadly. The trio of Venator-Class ships, IFF showing as the Hydian Express, Clone Carrier, and Venerablenator II, exited hyperspace and approached the greenish world of Wayland. On the main bridge of the Hydian Express was the commander of this operation, Vevut Australis, assigned by Cerani, chief of Clan Intelligence. First mission in command, baptism of fire.
It was a simple mission, clean out riffraff and free any prisoners, but Vevut had never commanded this many forces in his life, so the pressure was on the young man. He tried hard not to let it show, his face hidden behind a black and green Beskar'gam and T-Visor.::Begin the assault.:: Vevut ordered. Below, swarms of LAAT Gunships, Fang Fighters and Kom'rk-class Transports dropped away from the ship, heading for the surface. Vevut felt the stirrings to be at the front of the battle, but he was here to oversee and observe today, not to fight directly.

Had there been negotiations, which there were not; they would have been short. Slaving was a no-no in Mandalorian space, and these minions of the Hutts had chosen their profession.
Those that threw down weapons and surrendered were to be spared. Otherwise, no quarter was to be given. Vevut and Cerani watched it all from the command bridge in orbit above Wayland.
Three major camps had been identified. Vevut's plan called for three armored columns to land and assault. Six platoons of Redback riflemen had been positioned on good ground to the East, while the heavy assault came in from the West. Anyone running away to the North and South would run into Greenbacks, hidden in the forest waiting for prey.
There would be no escape. From above, the fighters and capital ships could deal with any escape craft, though none had been detected on the ground.
The assault had gone perfectly, with the armoured columns landing and catching the scum's attention, drawing it away from the rest of the commandos, who landed further out and humped their way inward to their positions. By the time the tanks and walkers were into assault range, the commandos were in position.
The slavers had fought hard, but not hard enough. The battle was almost over when casualty calls began to come from the Commandos.
The unmistakeable hum of a lightsaber was heard. Mandalorian swearing was also heard.
That'll be the one they call the Slayer. Cerani said. Vevut reacted quickly, knowing lives were on the line on every instant.
::Pull back.:: He ordered the commandos. Sensible order, they were good, but not equipped to deal with a Dar'jetii. Dark Jedi, no longer a jedi as the word in Mando'a labeled them. Worse than Jedi, Vevut knew. He looked to Cerani, but she gave him the look that said he was being tested.
He outranks me. Vevut said, thinking that his older brother was the best suited to order to deal with the enemy threat. Cerani was severe.
What is rank? You're not in uniform, Kain'ika, but you are in command here. Vevut's spine stiffened as she used the name he hated, the one that struck at the core of who he was, but the shock of it galvanised him into action.
Two buttons on the console before him opened a private comm to Reyn.
::Reyn:: Vevut began.
::Have monitored the situation.:: Reyn's voice was calm. Vevut was glad he'd been able to steady his own. It was said you couldn't give Mandalorians orders, just make sensible suggestions they wanted to follow. Vevut decided to take that course.
::Run fast and shoot straight.:: The younger brother said to the elder.
Reyn's answer was a double comm click. Vevut opened a holofeed from his brother's beskar'gam. A nearby feed showed a view from above, from one of the gunships.
Two lightsaber blades could be seen through the trees, slashing and deflecting blasterfire, concealed from above and from distance by the thick jungle and canopy. A red clad warrior could be seen running in that direction. Reyn, Vevut knew. Two blades were sheathed across his back and a heavy looking pistol dangled from his belt.
It was the first time Vevut had ordered one of his own family into danger.

Down on the surface of Wayland, Reyn Australis was breathing hard as he sprinted into the undergrowth, drawn to the beacon of the lightsabers humming and trees cracking as they were sliced in two. He couldn't yet see his opponent to-be, the foliage was still too thick. He bounded over fallen logs and between shrubs, finally coming into view of the enemy.
Casualties had been reported over the battle net, two dead, and five wounded. Even Mando'ade noticed those losses. Reyn drew one of his beskar blades and pointed it.
JEDI! He called a challenge. A green blade, and then a red one swung his way, pointing. Reyn drew his second blade. DAR'JETII! He confirmed upon seeing the crimson weapon joining the green one. A practitioner of Jar'kai, Reyn observed, as the Dark Jedi approached him, slowly. The scum probably thought it gave off an air of menace, but Reyn wasn't impressed. He stood still until the hooded and robed figure got to within a few meters. The hood came back to reveal an Iktotchi, an ugly male with teeth filed to points and various burn scars across his face and horns.
Mando. The Iktotchi growled. Reyn twirled his blades, affecting an air of cocky distraction. The trap snapped shut as the dar'jetii leapt at Reyn. Reyn moved with blinding speed, catching both blades on one of his, and slashing the Iktotchi across the back from buttocks to shoulder blades, effecting a spray of blood.
The blades came around quickly in a decapitating strike, but Reyn was already rolling away and coming up with his weapons crossed in front of him, one now dripping with his enemy's blood. The two circled one another, as Cerani and Vevut watched the contest from orbit.

Vevut watched entranced as Reyn drew first blood against his Dark Jedi opponent down on Wayland below. He had sent his brother in as best to deal with the threat, and his brother hadn't objected, which filled the younger Australis with confidence that he had done the right thing.
The Iktotchi reeled from the deep cut to his back, but came up without his blades faltering, protecting himself as he and Reyn began to circle one another once again.
At least you'll give me an honourable death in battle. Single combat was a way many warriors, good and bad, preferred to go out. Dying as they had lived, so to speak. Reyn didn't intend to give the scum that preference.
::Brother, I need a favour.:: Reyn commed to Vevut.
::Go ahead.:: Vevut replied quickly. The response was a shock, but he held himself together, trusting his brother as his brother was trusting him.
::Turbolaser blast, my position, on my mark:: On the command ship's bridge in orbit, Reyn ordered the main battery to target the planet below.
The Iktotchi was wary now, having been wounded by what seemed to be no Force user. Reyn's silence seemed to be goading him into speaking freely.
I can't sense you, but you're no Jedi.
Reyn tapped the tip of one blade to his helmeted head. Epicanthix.
All the explanation he was going to give, he was half Epicanthix on his mother's side, his natural resistance to mental coercion providing a shield against Force users and their mind tricks.
::MARK!:: Reyn shouted into his comm, feinted twice, then thrust once into the Iktotchi's stomach, striking true. Then he leapt backwards as a scream filled the world. The scream got louder until it was louder than a freight hauler, and then the world exploded.
Reyn's comms were knocked out for several seconds following the blast, the static of the turbolaser blast's near miss scrambling everything, including his own senses, as he looked up to see the tree above him on fire. The Iktotchi was gone.
::... come in ner vod:: Reyn heard.
::Nice shot.:: He managed to croak, and Vevut visibly relaxed, as the bridge crew broke into cheers on hearing Reyn had made it through. Cerani clapped Vevut on the back.
Good job.

Soraya moved about her fighter, inspecting it as required by the fleet. After all, it was by far the best way to ensure all ships were in proper working order. The last thing anyone wanted was a system failure in the middle of combat. It didn't even matter that they were brand new. But if not to ensure a properly functioning starfighter, it always helped in fully understanding her ship inside and out.
It had only been a month or so since the creation of the 7th fleet. With the growing territory and personnel of the Coalition, the addition of a new, full-fledged fleet was a necessary one. Though it utilized smaller ships than some of the others within the Coalition, the numbers they carried were greater as well as utilized some of the more advanced and powerful ships the order had to offer. This was more than enough to make most second guess making an attack.
With the creation of a new fleet, Soraya found herself getting promoted. Alongside gaining the rank of Captain, she was also given charge to one of the two squadrons of X-83 Twintails. It was certainly a privilege she didn't see coming as the X-83s were one of the most advanced and capable fighters thus far in the Coalition. And to be given charge of one of the two within the Majestic-class Heavy Cruiser that served as the flagship was a great honor. Even now, she was having a hard time settling into the role. Luckily, the higher-ups and her squadron had been supportive.
As she finished her checks, the alarms in the hangar bay went off. It was time to begin running their drills. From time to time, the fleet would cease its patrol of the area and work on fleet and starfighter formations. It kept them sharp and ready for anything the enemy would throw at them. Moving over to the ladder, she entered the fighter and put her helmet on as the hangar crew moved the ladder away. One by one, she flipped the switches to power up the fighter, the engines eventually roaring to life. As the approval to launch came through, the squadrons began moving out, breaking off into formations and going through the designated drills.

The after action report didn't take too long, once the ground force had finished mopping up and returned to orbit above Wayland, the enemy ostensibly destroyed. Vevut had overseen the relatively simple logistical task of ensuring the Clan's forces returned in good order, as a good commander should. Reyn rode back up with the grunts, seeing to his troopers before reporting to the bridge to face his brother and the Twi'lek on the command deck.
Reyn motioned to the two of them. Not here. And he nodded his unhelmeted head towards the Captain's day cabin, currently unoccupied. When the three of them were inside, Reyn sealed the door.
What's up? Vevut asked. Reyn opened a belt pouch. Found something on a couple of the enemy down there. I don't think any of the troopers recognized these.
He took out some small, dead, coral-like seeds that were almost crystalline in appearance, and still coated with drying ichor. Vevut screwed his face up as Reyn held the gory things out to him. On them or in them?
Reyn grinned grimly at his brother's reaction. Embedded in their heads. You know what these are? He asked his younger brother. Vevut didn't but Cerani did. She identified the horrible things. Slave seeds.
Vevut breathed out heavily. Yuuzhan Vong. This was bad, and something to be brought to the Alor's attention. When he found out, he would go supernova.

The Australis fleet was on station near the Myrkr system, formed up for the first time in anything resembling a fleet status, with escorts alongside the two large ships and the oversized transport that the Alor called home.
Aboard the Wild Boar, Kaine's home, the five Australis siblings had convened a meeting with their father.
Upon reciept of information suggesting that there might potentially be a Yuuzhan Vong presence on the planet of Wayland, practically on Myrkr's doorstep, Field Marshal Alor Kaine Australis hadn't quite gone supernova, but he had gone very quiet.
The old enemy, the first enemy, the one he had learned to fight all those years ago, a teenager, barely an adult by Mando'ad standards, with everything in the galaxy ahead of him to learn. That education had come hard, and expensive, at the cost of many lives, too many faces and names to remember, all lost to the charnel pit of a war Kaine had never really left; a part of it would be with him throughout his career, every enemy, every opponent matched against the extragalactic scourge.
Kaine's deliberation took moments, during which the command cabin aboard Wild Boar had been deathly silent. This was a family affair, for now, Reyn had discovered the evidence, and brought it to Vevut and Cerani. They had brought in Amaranth and Konig, who had brought in Marit, who had presented the evidence to their father in the most diplomatic way possible.
He spoke first, quietly, but clearly audible. We take everything we've got, right now, and burn them all out.
Konig was first to speak. The whole planet?
Amy spoke for Kaine. Total war. She breathed. Reyn grinned, but said nothing. He'd never fought the Vong before, and relished the opportunity.
Vevut looked from his older siblings to his father, and then to Cerani, who had become his guide. Before the youngest Australis in the room could speak, Kaine began handing out assignments, though it didn't go as the old boar had planned.
Konig will command from the Invincible Reason. Konig cut him off, intending to do no such thing. He glanced guiltily at Cerani before looking to Vevut.
Cerani had filled Konig in on Vevut's suitability to command, partly to encourage the elder Australis to keep a closer watch on the Alor.
No. Vevut will command from orbit. I'm going with you and Reyn, and so is Amy. We're not letting you get stabbed twice in a month.
Kaine could hardly argue with both his elder sons, and less so with Amaranth nodding in total agreement with her brothers. With Marit and Vevut and Cerani on board, he faced a united front, and went with their assessment.
Fine. Kaine said, nodding to Vevut to show his approval. Vevut could hardly argue. I'll take care of things in orbit.
Marit sniffed. I'll leave you warmongers to it, then. She and Cerani left the room, and dragged the young Vevut along with them. They crossdecked to the battleship Invincible Reason, which would lead the operation.
Kaine faced down the remaining trio. Meet you on the deployment deck. Konig, Reyn, and Amaranth left the cabin, heading off to prepare. Kaine watched them go, approvingly.
They were both seasoned warriors, none of his regular ori'rami'kade would object to having them along to babysit the Alor, who no one would bother trying to hold back from fighting the Vongese. They'd have to worry about keeping him alive, instead, a comparatively easier task.
Wild Boar would take the troops in towards the primary target, Kaine had decided. Mount Tantiss was the only known major structure on the wild world of Wayland, and that had to be where any Vongese had dug themselves in. He would dig them out.

Wayland Orbit, T-5 Minutes to Zero Hour, W-Day.Kaine Australis stood on the deployment deck of the Wild Boar and beheld the largest group of Clan Australis warriors assembled in living memory. It was not often the entire Clan came together for any reason, and less so for war. When the Alor called, they came, one and all.
Around the Wild Boar was the combined fleet strength of the Clan, led by the battleship Invincible Reason and the cruiser Red Rocket, surrounded by their escorts and fighter squadrons. Wayland had no planetary defences, and their enemy did not appear yet to be wise to their impending danger.
Intelligence had furnished the Field Marshal with a full picture of the enemy's deployment on Wayland, from both probe droids, and flyovers by stealth craft, as well as orbital scans that were capable of ground penetration to sniff out the tunnels and subterannean fortifications inside Mount Tantiss itself, the chosen home of the enemy.Kaine activated a holoprojector before the assembled supercommandos. The holoimage of Mount Tantiss and its surrounding area filled the projection grid. The enemy is located here, within the Emperor's Storehouse at Mount Tantiss. The image zoomed in, till the mountain took up almost the entire holoprojection. Small specks could be seen whirling around the mountain at intermittent intervals. They possess some number of coralskipper craft. Their strength on the ground is estimated to be several thousand, all within the Mountain itself. There were no questions, everyone already knew how to assault a target and kill enemies. All they needed to know was where the enemy were, and Kaine had just told them.A comm on Kaine's forearm beeped for attention. Priority transmission from the surface. Kaine activated it, and heard the voice in his helmet.::Rancor Lead to Old Boar.:: Kaine responded. ::Go ahead Rancor lead.:: Rancor Lead was Zeusi Silasrune, commander of Rancor Squadron, the Clan's elite pilots. They were on station near Mount Tantiss, their stealth bombers flying invisibly around the area, keeping a close eye on the enemy position. ::We've detected gravitic emissions from within the Mountain. I think they've got a Yammosk, and I think it knows we're here.::Kaine made a snap decision. ::Go active. Triangulate that Yammosk now. Weapons free, good hunting.:: Zeusi clicked off. Kaine turned back to the commandos. We go now.The bridge had been monitoring the Alor's comm to the surface, and Wild Boar immediately went into a dive down the gravity well, heading directly for Mount Tantiss. Surprise was only useful when you still possessed it, and if the enemy knew there was danger, the enemy might escape. Kaine wasn't going to chance that. They had to hit hard now, and end this threat before it grew.
The Australis assault force was going in.
