Taking deep breaths, Lyrica drew on the Force to fill her with life and the strength she desperately needed to keep in the battle. She wore her dark tunic and clothing, looking almost like a spacer, save for the blades hanging on her belt, bouncing against either thighs as she moved. She was not part of the main battle groups, but she moved amongst the fighting men, swiftly drawing her dagger and knife to cut down foes, then just as quickly sheathing them so that she might render aid to the wounded. Weaving complicated patterns of healing over the wounds of the soldiers, she could keep them fighting a little longer, and refreshing their stamina to keep them alert.
She felt her heart fluttering and she took shelter from the battle, kneeling behind a large stone. She was exherting herself, and the battle had barely begun. Like all the rest of her people, Lyrica Starlight had only a few more years left to live before she would succumb to the Sith Curse that stole her strength and vigour even at such a young age. But until then, she had vowed to keep fighting until she was no longer able to. The Force was her ally, and she could still draw on the power of the Force to aid her in battle. Drawing the dagger and knife, she rejoined the forward battlegroup.==Return of the Jedi (Lords) SL== <<107 PP; P5 Sector, Serenno>> Mary twisted the Tempest out of the way of some hazy swath of things reaching up from the ground. It would seem that the surface was decidedly hostile. She wasn't sure what they were, or what they did, but they seemed to be dispersed even as she was dodging them. She dropped the rest of the way toward the given landing site much more rapidly than her original approach had been. She used a quick but tight orbit of the landing site. She kept her nose pointing in for the entire loop to both bleed off the extra speed & give a good look at the site. Judging it to be both clear & in friendly hands, she set the ship down. There was no reason to remain a target longer than was required. A few moments after landing, she was standing on the ramp. The ship was still fully powered, just in case they needed to make a quick break from the landing zone. As it turned out, Lyrica was needed elsewhere, away from the battlefield, and she found herself being redirected towards a landing site, where she saw a young woman with short cropped brown hair and a disfiguring facial scar that ran from the right ear lobe to the side of her chin, standing at the ramp of a still-running bulky HT-2200 freighter. She didn't need the Force to tell her the woman was on edge, and who wouldn't be, being this close to a hot zone of an active and ongoing battle?“Mary Cerulea?” said Lyrica, her accent similar to a Coruscanti, she extended her hand to shake, “Lyrica Starlight, forward field Healer. I was sent to welcome you.”Idly, she wondered if Mary would like the scar to be taken care of. She had gotten the young woman's name and details (what little was provided) from a DataPad. The Clearance Staff that allowed the Tempest through in the first place had acquired the information when she transmitted her landing clearance.
Lyrica's attire was a little battered, but none-the-worse-for-wear, and an assistant breathing apparatus hung down her neck, ready to be pulled over her mouth and nose if necessary.

For a moment, Mary was surprised when the other woman glanced at her scar in passing. However, she realized a moment later that she had forgotten to pull her mask back down out of her hat after pushing it up to clean off. With a quick flick of the force against a hidden trigger in her hat, the blank metal of the mask slipped back down into place, sealing against her skin with hiss of pressure.
-Mary Well, here I am. Makes sense they send a healer. Mostly got medical supplies.
Her talking was clipped, as if it took a physical effort to communicate. Most of the bloodstains had been cleaned out of the craft, but a few had simply set in a little too deeply to be completely removed. Several rust red spots marked the loading ramp, many of them signifying the last resting place of some jedi soul or other. They had escaped the slaughter of the temple, only to perish in transit to help.
-Mary You want to look over the goods?
She stepped a little to one side & waved gently. It could have been just a random shift, or it could have been an invitation to board. In either case, it had been rather restrained. Mary gave off the feel of a very, very tightly coiled spring. One that could either provide a tremendous amount of very carefully directed force or explode. Likely with little if any warning.

Apparently Mary was more shy than Lyrica realized, when the mask was pulled down over her face. Her synthetic voice was both fascinating and disconcerting to the young Jedi. There was also the tension she sensed from the woman, and it made Lyrica a little nervous and wary herself. Raising her mask to her face, she drew breath for a moment, then released it to hang around her neck again. It was not even a few months ago when her lungs began to weaken and she struggled to draw breath on her own. The effects of the Sith Curse placed on her people. It was only going to get worse as her body deteriorated with increasing speed over time.
Against her better judgement, she decided to accept Mary's invitation to inspect the supplies. But she almost regretted it after. Something terrible had clearly happened here. Even without the stubborn stains, Lyrica was attuned enough to the Force to pick up on traces of the pain and suffering that occurred at some point. “What...happened?” She could not help asking.

Mary led the way deeper into the ship, though with how much cargo it was stuffed with, even the passageways were nearly packed full. From the labels on the crates, it cargo was indeed from the fleet in orbit. Most of it was as Mary had said. Medical supplies made up the bulk, but there were also some specialized tools & even a few protein paste machines mixed in.
-Mary Jedi Temple on Felucia was attacked. I lifted out as many wounded as I could get.
There was the distant thud of a series of explosions. It was a sound she was far more familiar with after her 'vacation' on zeltros. It seemed that no-where in the galaxy was ever truly safe.
-Mary Same question to you. What happened?

“Blast...” said Lyrica, her only response to the report about the events on Felucia. Her mind raced with questions, and wonders about what could have been done. But as they always said about hindsight...
The sobering reminder to keep her mind on the present, and attend to the needs of the many wounded that these vital supplies were meant for in the first place, was the distant thunder of cannons and explosives. The young woman sighed, and felt her lungs suffering from the lack of strength to even draw breath properly, and she quickly tugged the breathing apparatus back on, gratefully taking in much-needed oxygen.
“Sith curse. A bio agent introduced to my people generations ago.” Lyrica explained when she could breathe on her own again...for a while. “Few of my kind live to see their twenty-fifth name day. I'm nineteen, and I'll be fortunate to see another six years. My muscles haven't started atrophying yet, so I guess that's a good thing.”
Her eyes wandered over to Mary, and she blushed, “I'm terribly sorry, were you asking about me, or perhaps the battle here?”
While she conversed with Mary, the young Knight called for bulk loader droids to assist with the unloading of the cargo, there was very little time to waste dawdling, and some supplies were urgently needed on the field already. Battlefield triage was part of her duties, and she assigned the most critical camps and platforms with wounded.

Mary absorbed the info silently. She had been asking about the state of the planet, the the turn of the conversation had still taken her interest.
-Mary The force can do that? All I can do is move things.
It seems the masters on Felucia had been right. She did have far more to learn about the force magic that she already knew. Of course, it would probably help if the masters assigned to her actually managed to stick around long enough to make any headway. She was beginning to wonder if she might not have a curse of her own.

Lyrica gave Mary a wan smile and drew a medikit to her hand with the Force, carefully moving it through the air with weaves and patterns in the air and the natural field of energy that flowed around every single thing that existed. Now that she had surrendered to the Force and its endless power, she could feel her body invigorated by the living energy, and she could see a soft glow around Mary, showing her own strength and power, though Lyrica couldn't tell just how strong she really was. Yet, Lyrica knew how deceptive the power really was to her and her kind. When she released her hold, she would be beyond exhausted, and weaker than ever.
“I do not believe the Jedi nor Sith have even begun to comprehend the greater mysteries of the Force,” said Lyrica, “and there are limits, boundaries that the Sith do not hesitate to cross in their search for power, to sate their greed and ambitions. Still, I cannot deny their effectiveness.”
Her expression saddened as she turned her head to look at Mary, “My people are stunted, and there is no Jedi or Healer who can even fathom how to undo this affliction. I suppose in a few more generations, we will be extinct altogether.”
Turning to head back outside, she gestured toward the open space, “And this mad war going on right now, I do not believe is good for anybody. The constant and ever-growing loss of lives on both sides, will soon bring the Dark Side, build a stronghold and presence that even the Jedi will be hard-pressed to defeat. This war...” she paused in her steps to look sternly at Mary, “...will end in defeat, for everyone.”

Mary paused to look over the medic. She couldn't begin to comprehend the mindset it would take to think that peace was always an option. Growing up on Coruscant had shown her that bullies were usually the ones that ran things. There, she had at least been small enough to keep her head down as a spaceport worker. When a criminal gang took a personal interest in her, she had been force to flee through the most rotten, corrupting, vile depths of Coruscant. It was there she had seen the true depths of the galaxy. That time still stained her soul & mind, even if she avoided thinking about the past at all. It wasn't until she turned back & fought that she had a chance.
Then she had found herself in a whirlwind that dragged her to the far outer rim world of Felucia, to train with this new found power. There, she had seen more criminal gangs. & then she had been plunged into the soupy soul rotting depths of a prison. Given the impossible task of purging it of the living darkness that seeped from its walls. She had failed, though she refused to give up until help arrived to finish the job.
After that had been Zeltros for what had been listed as a time of peaceful meditation. But the First Order had ended that quickly enough. She had led the fight against those invaders, rallying who she could. It had been a bloody vicious fight that no-one had walked away from victorious.
May gave the other woman a long, hard look. A look focused enough that even a non-magic user could feel it through the mask. A look like fingers physically pushing against the person's throat. She didn't mean to use a touch of TK, but control wasn't something she really understood yet. It wasn't enough to be dangerous, just enough to feel like a single finger touching the person. She flicked her hand toward a stack of crates & a datapad snapped across the room in a perfectly flat blade of an arc. The pull, like all her intentional uses, pulled equally hard on herself. The difference in mass however, meant it was more or less unnoticeable. She held the datapad out, it was a mostly complete inventory of the loaded supplies.
-Mary You can't make peace with a rabid animal. You just put it down.

Lyrica's breath hitched a moment when she saw Mary suddenly begin glowing brighter in the Force and she felt a touch yet the distance between the two women was beyond an arm's length. She had this sudden sense of pain, and unhappiness. A glimpse perhaps, of the life that shaped Mary Cerulea into what she was now, but the young Healer did not attempt to scry further. Her talents in talepathy and foresight or glimpsing the past weren't strong, and she preferred that people told her of their own volition.
Perhaps Mary assumed Lyrica's use of the Force was her showing off, and she had responded in kind, but either way, what she said next intrigued her. Her viewpoint seemed...harsh. She couldn't help but wonder what Mary had gone through to make her so cynical and so final in her opinions. “...perhaps,” said Lyrica as she accepted the offered device, “but these people are more than animals, Master Cerulea.”
She stood close to the boarding ramp and glanced outside, where the battles and skirmished continued unabated, and closer explosions shook the ground. “Master Everett has been leading the defense of Saffia almost a year now, with very little reinforcements. Your ship was one of the few to safely navigate the skies through enemy territory. The three warlords attacking Saffia have committed their forces to stifling us, in the hopes that we'll be pressed into defeat. Larcener is the fiercest adversary and warlord we have the most concern about dealing with.”
She turned to regard Mary with a look, “Would you try to leave the same way you came, or would you perhaps stay with the other Jedi here?”
She drew closer to the other woman and rested her hand lightly against the shoulder, “Forgive me for speaking so, Master Cerulea, but I sense a deep conflict, even a darkness about you. I could be wrong, certainly,” she laughed nervously, “yet I would ask you to take hope, and not give up on optimism entirely.”
Lyrica gave off a sense of calm and soothing sensations, in hopes of quelling flames before they grew, yet the comfort offered would only work if it was accepted, as she was not interested in forcing anything on the woman. When she was done, she exited the ship, moving carefully, and turned to look at Mary once more, and she said, “Sometimes, things have a way of working out for the best, unexpectedly. May the Force be with you, Master Cerulea, and thank you for your timely delivery.”

Mary's hand snapped up as the other woman reached out toward her shoulder. It was a small gesture, but one that left no doubt about the power contained within it. If the other woman continued on with the motion, her had would be stopped by a solid shell of air nearly a foot from Mary.
-Mary Do. Not. Touch.
With that dealt with Mary could handle the other issues still floating in the air. She proceeded with somewhat more calm.
-Mary I'm no Master. I haven't even been officially knighted yet. As for sticking around, it is highly likely. We ran into heavy anti-air on the way down. Our chances of breaking orbit again are pretty low, even in this tub.

Lyrica's attempt was rebuffed and the young Healer realized Mary was even more unfriendly or unapproachable than she'd originally thought. She murmured an apology with a small bow, then considered her remark about her travel plans. It seemed like she had a partner that she was unaware of, or had simply not seen. Accepting her statement, Lyrica simply nodded and gestured past herself, “Then perhaps you would like to meet with the other Jedi and commanders while you're here. I'm sure we would all appreciate an extra hand.” She led the way ahead, occasionally breathing from her respirator mask.

Mary nods in acceptance. She pulls up the mask menu so that she can begin issuing orders to the droid crew of the Tempest. Surprisingly, the droids were already moving into position for what she wanted. A quick check showed she hadn't issued any orders yet. Most of the droids should still be in their charging docks. Instead, half the stevedore droids were already moving into position to prepare the cargo for unloading. The sentinel droids had also started on the move, already partly through their weapon check start-ups. With a mental shrug & a thought to check the droids when she got back, Mary issued the orders & turned to follow the Healer.
-Mary Lead on.

*The face of battle always seemed to change quickly around Saffia and today that factor seemed to have amplified itself up to eleven. Just as they were beginning to get a handle on the situation something else seemed to arrive. At least for once it wasn't just the warlords who were getting reinforcements. Cursing as warships and tanks suddenly made there presence known Everett rallies himself for what's sure to be a final stand when suddenly they start transmitting friendly signals claiming to be the forces of a self proclaimed Duke of a City half the world away. He didn't have time to be choosy about his allies so he settled for hoping it wasn't some elaborate ruse. Letting himself feel a small fragment of relief he cursed again as the Larcener's Dark tendrils began to rise once again. They were stronger than Everett had ever seen them, making the Jedi Investigator grow increasingly concerned about what reinforcements Larcener may have acquired to help him before shunting those thoughts aside to focus on the task at hand.
Slashing out with his mind he began cutting the dark tendrils away from the reinforcing ships. His efforts were waning however. He was exhausted from a day of fighting and it was becoming impossible to maintain the battle meditation as well as counteract the Dark Jedi's attempts to shatter the reinforcements coming to the city. With most of the current battle being mopped up anyway he decided to trust his commanders to finish without him and dropped the meditation turning his full attention to Larcener's anti-air assault. It felt like an eternity of move and countermove and it was a game Everett knew he was loosing. Despite his best efforts two of the dreadnoughts began to be pulled out of the sky and once they started moving in that direction gravity helped finish the job.*
The western edge of Saffia was already mostly abandoned due to the siege but the soldiers stationed there could do nothing but watch in horror as two 600 meter warships fell from the sky their forward momentum cutting a deep swath in the earth and abandoned buildings before finally coming to a halt, taking out 30 of the city volunteer force and the western commander Eli Griff. Medical teams were dispatched immediately including Percy Flint and some of the other Jedi healers, even so the devastation to the troops and crew of the ship as well as what remained of that part of the city was astronomical.
*Watching the last vestiges of Larcener's power dissipate from around the cruisers Everett reached out once again with his senses looking for any remaining elements of combat but found that all was now quiet in the city, Larcener content with the destruction he had caused and likely almost as tired as Everett after that sort of exertion. Withdrawing from his force senses the Jedi Master is hit with a fresh wave of exhaustion as he nearly stumbles out of his chair. Things were starting to get very close, even with the welcome boon of reinforcements. Turning his bloodshot and sunken eyes on the nearest comm tech he tries to put as much strength into his voice as he can.* "Send a message to our commanders to meet in the large briefing room, and sent an invitation to all our guests to meet us there as well as instructions for getting here. *It was time to continue the fight, and take stock of what new resources had arrived. If luck is with them then it'll be enough to turn the tide, but Everett wasn't about to hold out too much hope for that.. not yet at least.

The Duke of Fiyarro had barely gotten his affairs in order when word came from one of the sentries. Within a command vehicle, speaking with his commanders, a soldier barged in, making all turn to him. Before one of the commanders could reprimand the soldier for doing so, the soldier blurted out his message.
My liege! The sky... the ships!
Lucien's eyebrow goes up slightly.
Out with it, soldier! What's going on?!
The soldier takes a moment to gulp before finally able to speak coherent sentences.
Sir, two of the Dreadnaught-class Cruisers are falling from the sky!
Lucien and the commanders bolted out the command vehicle, coming out to see swathes of their soldiers pointing upward and looking into the sky as the sun was eclipsed for a moment by the shapes of two of his warships. Lucien would later learn, from witnesses and one of his naval commanders, that dark tendrils came up, grabbing hold of two of the warships. They tried to stay leveled, but the force pulling them down, augmented by the gravity, forced them downward, slamming into a portion of the city and the surrounding landscape. The Duke did not hesitant with the response as rescue and medical crews were dispatched to aid in the recovery effort.
However, duty called elsewhere when a comm officer came to report an invitation from a certain Everett Stone, identified as the self-proclaimed Liberator and Defender of Saffia. Lucien gazed over at the smoldering wreckage of his vessels before departing for Saffia. Command of his troops was handed over to his staff in the mean time, who went about mopping up any remaining resistance.
=====================
A shuttle was dispatched from one of Malvern's remaining warships over Saffia. From the battlefield, the Duke of Fiyarro took a shuttle to the city of Saffia and where the designated rendezvous was made known. His eyes look down at the wreckage of the formerly besieged city. Many districts were nearly leveled and abandoned with only the center of the location still resembling something of its former self. His shuttle touched down within a plaza that represented a makeshift command area, before a large building. Likely the city's former local government building. Lucien looks around a moment, seeing the state of affairs here. He glances at one of his soldiers.
With a route secured, have surplus medicine, food, and clothing be brought and dispensed. These people need it...
The soldier subtly nods his head and keys his comm to relay the order. From there, the Serenno nobleman proceeds into the main building, heading for wherever the meeting was happening. Whoever Everett was, it sounded like this person had a plan in mind and an authority to see this mess cleaned up.

Ironically, even as her life was beginning the waning process, and her youthful strength sapped before it had even peaked, Lyrica felt strongly connected to the Living Force, and she felt the dreadful darkness weighing on her spirit all of a sudden, so she was not surprised, but despaired nonetheless to witness the two massive warships pulled by visible dark tendrils. A powerful Dark Sider was responsible...perhaps more than one. The oppression was so strong, that it was like a physical weight on her and she knelt to the ground, thoroughly weakened, but still able to hold her head up to the sky, and she watched the ships plunge to their doom, with the thousands of crew within.
It was the least she could do.
She was not called to proceed towards the city to aid in the rescue effort, and she had been about to volunteer herself regardless, when she received a missive to meet the Everett Stone himself in the briefing room, complete with directions. Seeing as she had just been planning to introduce Mary to the leadership, she felt it prudent to bring the other woman along with her.
“It appears Master Stone wishes to meet with us and the other leaders,” said Lyrica, “Perhaps in regards to what we just saw...” Her voice faltered when she mentioned the doomed vessels, as she thought of all the countless lives abruptly lost in defense of this world, of this city. She began to lead the way to the room, barely referring to the terrain locator, since she was fairly familiar with the layout of this place, and she bowed slightly to Everett when she saw him, before moving to stand near the corner, drawing breath from her oxygen mask now and then.

Trudging their way through the ruins of the city now that their speeder had been ruined in their mad bid to get across the city Ivoj led the few men with him. A few people looked out through their windows and a few could be seen hanging close to the shadows but none approached them. All of them knew just how close this final push had come to destroying what forces remained to defend the city and the reinforcements just meant the siege would be prolonged.
Looking into the sky Ivoj cocked his head, yes he was tired but did he see two large starships falling to the ground? A few moments later he knew the answer. The ground beneath his boots shook before the sound of the impact reached them, the concussive blast causing the wind to howl down the streets despite the distance. Already the dust and the debris from the crash could be see rising into the air and choking its way in between the buildings that weren't destroyed.
More dead.
Separating from the rest of the Highwaymen Ivoj took off towards the city center to meet with Stone.

Post by Maximus Titus [RETIRED] on Feb 12, 2019 20:38:36 GMT -8
The battle raged on, with neither side seeming to gain or lose ground of any considerable means. And then, the unexpected happened. It was as if someone had drawn a curtain across the sun for a few moments as the pair of Dreadnaught's were pulled from the air. Their hulking forms falling helplessly to the ground in the western district of Saffia. The Praetorians with him gathered close and set their shields in formation as the blast wave emanated outwards. The air filling with dust and debris even as far out as they were.
Titus relaxed from the formation as the air started to clear and the call to meet in a nearby command center came through. He turned his gaze back to where soldiers had just been not long ago. The realization that they had disappeared hitting him a few moments later. The thought crossing his mind that perhaps such sheer and wanton destruction had merely been a get away tactic. But his focus was quickly drawn from such matters as he turned back to the waiting gunships Back to the ships, we head to meet this... Everett Stone... A quick confirmation shout rose before he lead the way back up to the rooftop the gunships were landed on. While they might have made the trip on foot, it would be much faster via air. Plus, it would give him a chance to survey the situation from overhead.
The turbines spun up and took off into the air. Providing ample view to the now decimated western district and the wreckage of the two ships. Whatever madness had caused such destruction needed to be stopped. Hopefully this Everett Stone had some plan to bring those responsible to justice.
The Nemesis-class Gunships descended down to the ground then, their engines spinning down as they landed. Allowing Titus to disembark and head into the building. It was only a few moments later before he made his way into the meeting room. His attention passing across those already assembled for the meeting. He recognized none of their faces. Likely they were local Jedi or trainee's that had joined the Order just after he had departed some years ago. However, it took only to settle his gaze upon the grey haired Jedi Master, to know he was the one that had called them here Everett Stone, I assume?

Following the Chistori inside, James patted warrior's shoulder as he slipped through the door. He took a stance on the wall of the room, knitting his hands together in front of him. His sandy brown and white outer robes flowed onto the floor.
His Echani adept stood beside him at attention silver, and white robes matched that of his master, though he wore his weapons on his outer belt, unlike James.
James felt a little out of place. While his time on the planet had been productive over the past few months, his own battles were far less than that of the others gathered. Whether or not they showed it, each one gathered revealed a little of their experience.
For a moment, he was ashamed that he had not sent further assistance sooner, but he bit his tongue and bided his emotions further.
The Echani beside him watched every movement, blink, and twitch of the members of the gathering. It was almost robotic how methodical he was in his information intake.

Mary looked up to see a pair of warships ripped out of the sky & trust into the ground. Trembling shockwaves spreading outward like huge blast craters. Mary took a few moments to think about the raw power that would take. She had started to experiment with spreading the pressure she felt with any application of the force across nearby surfaces. It was like using a counter balance on a lever. But she still had exactly the same amount of force on her end as was applied to whatever object she was trying to move. If she had tried that stunt with only a single dreadnaught, it would have spread chunks of her & the surrounding area across a few kilometers of the landscape, & the ship would have remained in place. It was a little frightening.
Nodding at the woman with her, Mary followed as she was led through the blast pocked warren of the city. On her HUD, she watched over the unloading of the supplies remotely. It didn't take long before the two women where at the command center. Given the fact that her landing area had only just been cleared, it didn't say good things about the defense of the city.

Knowing that it would take a few minutes to gather everyone Everett took a couple minutes to clean himself up, toss some cold water on his face, and put on a fresh set of green Corellian robes. Well as fresh as he had that is. His clothes were all worn and patched at this point, but at least this set had been washed, so that was something at least. Even with the quick detour, the conference room was just down the hall from the command center and he made it there before any of his people or any of their visitors arrived. Exchanging short nods or brief words with everyone as they enter he holds most of his talking until everyone had arrived. In among the visitors various city officials made their way in, taking position near the front. Most of his field commanders, including most of his jedi had remained in the city to watch for a resurgence of attacks or to assist with the recovery efforts near the dreadnoughts. Aside form himself the only members of his own military that were in the room were Major Oswald Bushfire and Colonel Davram Gale who stood off to the side. The Major's grey commando armor was only partially cleaned of the dirt and gore that it had been dragged through durring this last fight. Colonel Gale looked more like an office accountant in some sort of odd zombie holofilm, his business suit jacket was ripped and patched with oddly bright colored fabrics ranging from an eye killing green to pinks that would seem much more at home on a child's stuffed animal. Despite his odd appearance though he wore the blaster at his hip and carbine on his shoulder like he was born with them.
After the last of the visitors made their way into the room the old investigator gestured for everyone present to be seated as he took up position behind the podium, taking a deep breath before starting to speak. "Hello, and welcome to Saffia, or rather what's left of it." He gestured to the various windows in the room and the bleak landscape they showed. "One year ago as the government of Serreno collapsed the warlords in the area began to move on Saffia with the intent to take it, we didn't let them." He couldn't help but allow a very small smile cross his face as he looked to Bushfire and Gale. He left off the part about the dark jedi who had been here and how he had found himself accidentally elected Mayor, those were slightly less important at the moment. "Since that day we've been in an almost constant battle for our lives with little hope in sight. Calls to the Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance seem to have fallen on deaf ears aside from a small initial influx of supplies. The welcome sight of all of you gives us hope, but I'm not going to lie, these warlords are no joke to be crushed lightly. Their troops number in the tens of thousands and their leader is one of the most powerful dark jedi I've had the displeasure of meeting. Before I move on does anyone have any questions?" He wasn't much for a lot of blathering, but having just met a lot of these people it was only fair to give them a chance to speak and get the information they needed. Hopefully they would stick around and help, but he wasn't about to give the city over to a "benevolent" savior any more than he was ready to give it to the warlords, he owed the people much more than that.
