They laughed. They all laughed, a laugh that actually held some measure of mirth: the mind that controlled all of them had, at least, been gifted with a sense of humour.
"Faced with this, and that is what you focus on? Extraordinary." They continued their advance, while the Mandalorian remained against the door. Miros himself was still out of sight, watching.. "To answer your question, fleshling, I was not born. I was created from afar, by the Sword herself, on the bridge of the Interrogator."
There was no transition from uttering that statement into the sudden motion of attack: three of the former citizens lunged at her from her left, another three on her right, all with their hands outstretched. There was no actual violence suggested; it seemed that all they wanted to do was lay a hand on her, not strike her. The remaining six stood back, spreading out to the sides while keeping a strong center, waiting to see what she would do with their comrades.
=====================================
The voice belonged to a solitary young girl, who walked out from behind her cover with her hands up, holding a blaster carbine that looked way too large for her. Her eyes were as wild as her hair, a deep brown colour both, the most reassuring sign that she was not, in fact, infected.
"Please.. don't shoot. I'm still me. I thought we were the only ones who made it.."
Before they could react to her use of the plural, she pointed off to the side with her left hand, at a dark corner where faint ragged breathing could be heard. Were the Mandalorians to go and check, they would find that there was a young boy curled up in the corner, his green eyes wide with fear, brown hair matted with sweat.

It didnt know how wrong it was. Nightsisters respect nature. Destroying something made by nature is a blasphemy. Of course, there are ways to go around that rule, counter-rules, exsceptions and a miriad of other things that can justify murder. If this creature, or entity had naturally occured, it was not a biological construct (an actually rather dispicable thing) but a new race. Of course, even if it IS constructed, it can come in the rule of "New race, respect it"... and she will have to consult with her sisters.
But as all new encounters, testing of the creatures or entities abbilities are needed.
The moment they started at her, she quickdrew her E11 blaster and autofired at the first line of enemies in kneelevel. She aimed to kneecap them so they fall. This was a test of the corrupted individuals abbility to percieve the world around them and reacto to it, instead of blind commands from some hive mind. It was also a test of their motoric skills. She can see what fells a corrupted creature later. Death is so final, while life is full of options... She also wanted to continue the conversation, but she didnt feel like she wanted to divide her focus for now.

There was no attempt to dodge. The denizens of Tauve took the hits, some having both kneecaps taken out of commission, some of them only taking a hit on one of their knees, and one poor "man" took so many hits on one of his knees that the leg was almost completely severed, hanging on by just a few tendons.
There was no voice of pain, however. No voice of protest. Those whose kneecaps were not permanently destroyed were pushing themselves back up to their feet; the rest were pulling themselves forward with their hands, refusing to stop due to some inconsequential injury.
The six citizens standing in the back smiled, a malicious light sparkling in their eyes.
"You're going to have to do better than that."
If nothing else, it was becoming increasingly obvious that this entity enjoyed banter.

She did not do it in any fancy way. No jumping around laughing. No comeback banter. It was simple Step-And-Spray. She only needed one to test. THat mandalorian seemed enough.
One step back, spray at remaining knees, one step back, spray, one step back spray severral stepps back, reload, one step back spray onestepbacksprayonestepbackspray. She would always hit the closest ones, never letting the mob get closer, and she would soon run out of people on their two leggs. Now, they were on their all-Twos. It was time to test killing. She started with simple tests. She strafed out to the side to better get aim at the torsos, and fired shots at sides, chests and backs. SHe wanted to see if this stopped them. Then the heads would come after a little backing off down the street. Does splitting their heads with blasterfire stop them? If yes, she would cut down enemy populace to a more menagable level. The last three, she would set on fire. This was a twofold test. She wanted to see if the wristmounted flamethrower actually worked (since most of her mando gear were cheap knockoffs) and she wanted to see how this corruption reacted to fire.
If headshots or bodyshots worked, she would finnish the rest off when she got her answers leaving the mandalorian.

Dom and Tarpor closed from the foot of the stairs, blaster still trained warily on the girl and the disheveled shape in the corner. Approaching from the other side Hector gave then a wild-eyed glance and a shaky nod. Kayleigh crouched with her left hand touching her scorched chestplate, wild-eyed and pale despite the barrel of her gun being steady. She seemed okay so Tarpor and Dom continued on to the girl, as Hector moved past her to crouch besides the shape in the rags. Huge brown eyes peered up at him when he pulled the filthy sheet aside, a wracking cough grinding out from tortured lungs. Dom glanced at Tarpor, inclining his head towards the door. With a nod Tarpor gave the go ahead and Dom jogged over to seal the portal. Tarpor crouched in front of the girl, gently taking the blaster from her trembling hands.
=Tarpor= "Its okay, kid. We won't hurt you..."
He glanced over at Hector, an eyebrow raised questioningly. Hector glanced at the girl before answering in Mando'a.
=Hector= "Kaysh o'r dush jahaal, alor'uus."
Hector nodded softly as Dom returned from sealing the door, turning his attention back to the girl and trying to adopt a reassuring smile. It wasn't easy in light of their circumstances...
=Tarpor= "What happened here, child? Is that your brother? Where are your parents?"
He kind of assumed the answer to the first and last question but had to ask.

The denizens who were still trying to stand fell over, toppling one by one, while the ones on the floor were silenced by the blasterfire once and for all.
Or were they? There was no clear way to tell if they had ceased living, not without getting down and checking for vital signs. The lifesigns of the Corruption would cloud one's Force senses; they weren't moving, though, and they didn't seem to be able to move again, so for now their threat was neutralized. The remaining denizens and the Mandalorian shifted slightly, their eyes narrowing collectively.
"You're trying to play us. We recognize this behaviour."
Then, they smiled.
"What else do you have for us?"
=============================================
The girl's gaze fell to the floor, her deep brown eyes starting to fill up with tears before she shook her head violently, looking back up at Hector.
"The whole city was burning, and our parents told us to get inside.. They were supposed to follow us and keep us safe. They never made it.."
She sniffled a little bit, but other than that she was visibly trying to keep herself together, keep herself strong.
"So my brother and I waited, and waited. There are some supplies in the other rooms and the other basements, but I don't want to leave him alone. He.. isn't handling it well.."

"Privacy."
The T shaped visor said coolly holstering her weapon. She reached out into the air with her newly freed hand and grabbed mare nothing. Then she jurked that hand up and spun around doing a full 360 degrees. At the same time, a lamp pole ripped out of the street right beside the group of murderious corruption, turned horizontal in the air while gaining momentum towards said "walkers" and aimed to simply wash them away and into the convenience store right beside them.
"I am not playing. I am assessing."

The grizzled Mando vet nodded slowly at the girls words, the despair in her voice mirroring the one that clutched his heart in its icy grasp. Straightening from his crouched posture he caught Dom's eye as the soldier returned from securing the door, gesturing with the girls blaster towards where her brother huddled.
=Tarpor= "See what you can do there. Spare a bit of water and food then get him ready to move. We can't stay here."
He glanced down at the girl as Dom hurried past, once again flashing the attempt at a reassuring smile.
=Tarpor= "Don't worry, kid. You're gonna come with us."
Dom crouched next to the prone form, delicately raising the boys head so he could drink from the water bottle he held in his other hand. The pallor to the child's flesh was so pale it was nearly translucent, ugly blue veins standing out against the pallid skin. The head lolled lsitlessly under his arm and most of the water spilled down the chin and cheeks.
=Dom= "Uh... Tarp..." He swiched to Mando'a so as not to upset the girl. "Kaysh nayc jate, Tarp. Ni nayc mirdir kaysh liser cuyanir..."
Kayleigh moved to stand over Dom and the little boy, her eyes wet with barely contained tears. Hector knelt by the door, hand pressed to the side of his helm as he tried to reach somebody, anybody, on the comm. Tarpor set his jaw, hand tightening so hard on the barrel of the girls blaster that the metal creaked alarmingly. When he spoke it was from between clenched teeth.
=Tarpor= "Ni nayc kemir'la kaysh solus, Dom!"
