*Sin didn't hear Tanara call out at first. She was only hearing her saber blaze in her ears as she swings at the second trooper. She looks to her left, and her right, it would appear no other troopers were in the street with her at this moment. The only thing she could see in the street was destruction wrought by the First Order. She could hear distant screams and cries from those injured by the bombing run by the TIE bombers. She shakes her head This couldn't be happening. It had to be a bad dream. But it wouldn't go away.
The other thing she heard, was this time she heard Tanara behind her. She turned her head, the first time that she would have looked directly at her since the runes appeared again. She wanted to know about drop ships. She looked at the hanger which she was headed towards. But seeing the smoke billowing from it after the strike hit it too, she doubted their drop ships were there, or that they would likely find anything there pilot able. She looked around again, inside the city wasn't the best place for dropships. The plains outside the city was the most likely. But.. the First Order couldn't have over run the city that quickly that the Nubian Royal Defense Force couldn't have reacted in time. If they'd advanced in force form there, the skies would have been crawling with their Star fighters, the streets flooded with troops from the Garrison.
She turned northward, towards the burning Palace. The only spot she could think of that they could have landed, and overrun theed this quickly was if they'd landed within the city. The only place with that kind of room, would have been the Royal Plaza. They'd had parades there often. She'd been there so many times as a little girl, with her Papa. She shakes her head. The trooper at her feet, the second hadn't been beheaded, or killed apparently. He looked to attack her. She stabbed him with her saber, but not a killing blow. the area she stabbed, had hit his spine, she made sure to inflict pain, and paralyze him. It was cruel, but the dark hole deep inside her was growing larger, eating away at her. She turned, walking purposefully away, in the direction of the Plaza, deeper into the city. It was away from Adi's routes out of the city, but it was the direction that Tanara asked for.
The plains is too remote. Royal Plaza.

Loki frowned and pretended to fall forward from the stun rays, twisting to be right in front of the two troopers, his duel blade springing to his hand and slicing through the two in the middle as he rolled forward and snapped the cuffs free. His smile was gone when a TIE screamed over head. "Zalor!" Then a flash from space and an orbital bombardment was launched Loki twisted and ran back to Zalor and covered him with his bulk as the blast hit along with the TIE's weaponry the concussive force knocking them against a wall, shrapnel and debris slamming into Loki's back. he kneeled but still protected Zalor from the fallout, gasping he had forgotten to switch the pain off.
"Dammit...Zalor, we need to get survivors and innocents out of the area!" Loki bellowed over the din of explosions and now crackling fire, Loki stood and straightened, his duelblade back on his belt he reached for the force and his curved hilt flew back into his hand and he clipped it neatly to his belt. "Lets get the others from the inn.
Loki began his jog back to the inn looking over at the growing embers of flames, why did the loss of life pang in him as it echoed through the force and all around them?

The clone had run away, the odds weren't favorable and now an attack had begun it slipped into a crevice as the concussive force passed by. He felt the loss of life and reveled in it, breathing it in like a physical miasma of life to him. He sneered and kept moving. Cutting down royal guards or storm troopers alike, any who crossed his path fell to his rage, even the innocent.

Sin and Tanara would encounter little in the way of troops on their way to the plaza - it seemed most had been redeployed to the surrounding blocks of houses. However, they would find no luck at the Royal Plaza either. It was teeming with with Stormtroopers. Near two thousand troops were rushing about, organizing their units and preparing to head to their positions. The Royal Guard had - perhaps surprisingly - put up a bit of a fight. What was left of them were being lined up along a wall in groups of ten and being shot by firing squads.
They wouldn't have any chance to take a shuttle here - but their perseverance was rewarded. A shuttle marked with the symbol of the Gladiator class Star Destroyer Brigand was landing on a flat topped building four blocks away - that would be their best bet.
-----
Even with the two troopers lying dead, Loki and Zalor's luck wouldn't last long. Even as they left the alley, they ran into a First Order checkpoint, complete with nearly thirty Stormtroopers and a heavy blaster turret. They quickly noticed the position of the two very dangerous lightsaber wielding nutjobs, and soon the air was filled with blaster fire and the two men were targeted. It was either go forwards through them, or turn back.
-----
Two squads of Special Forces quickly found themselves hunting the Zabrak Clone. They began to hound him, firing at him them retreating very swiftly, slowly but surely trying to draw the Sith into the range of three First Order sniper positions.

She was glad they had little in the way of resistance on their way to the plaza. Afterall, if they drew too much attention to themselves, they wouldn't be able to steal a shuttle. The echani was still blinded by anger and pain, but was at least somewhat listening to her. Though how much was about to be proven. They arrived at the plaza, and were greeted by the sight of several thousand stormtroopers. Her instincts took over immediately. Tanara grabbed Sin's arm and pulled them both out of sight. Once hidden, she let go of the Echani's arm and offered a quick apology.
"Okay, we need a new plan. We walk out there, we die, and we can't make the bastard responsible for all this pay if we're dead."
Whether by luck, or the will of the Force, a shuttle chose that moment to fly overhead and begin landing a mere four blocks away. Perfect. It was far enough that there likely wouldn't be many troops around, and by the time any of these troops in the plaza learned what was going on, they'd be too late to stop them. She looked back at the Echani and frowned. She wasn't listening to her at all, her focus was instead down on the far side of the plaza. She followed her gaze, and her heart skipped a beat. They were lining up the security volunteers and executing them. Was there no end to their depravity? She looked back at Sin again. She could tell there was no way she was going to convince her to walk away. She put her hand on the other woman's shoulder, trying to get her to listen.
"You can't help them if you just walk head first in there! Stop and think for just a moment! If you're gonna do something, it can't be a direct attack."

*Sin was staring down at the Plaza. There was a lot of troopers there. The storm still raged over head. Here and there lightning strikes hit the ground. The young Echani was staring at them executing the Nubian prisoners. Just in a fireing squad. She shakes her head gently. How could they! She stares, looking over the scene again, until Tanara grabbed at her arm, pulling her back to a covered spot. Her silver eyes seemed so distant, cold. But Tanara was right. She couldn't just walk out there. She pulls back against Tanara's grip. Pointing to a few of the Nubian Troops.*
Him, He brought me home when I snuck out, more then once...
That one? He would give me candies when Papa would take me with him to the Royal Palace.
The one on the end... there? He was in my class in school. He had a crush on me, always bringing flowers, and chocolate.
I can't just leave them to die! How could I? I know these people...this is my home... Would you have been able to just walk away if you'd been there on Dantooine? When it happened?
*Sin sunk down against the wall, tears streamed down her face. She couldn't just leave. She wouldn't. Her hands shakily reached her head, which sinks against her knees. She sat like that to her which felt like eternity. But was only a matter of moments. Her eyes opened. staring at the explosives clipped to her belt. She looks up quickly. Looking at Tanara. It was still full of pain and anger, but there was another look as well, she had an idea.*
I can't just leave. You start for the Shuttle. Don't look at me like that. I will come. But i have to do something first.
*She stares at Tanara for a long moment, waiting to see if Tanara would let her go along with this. When it seemed like Tanara had resigned to allowing her this. She sighs deeply. She leaned her head against Tanara's a moment.*
Next time you want to take me to bed.. Buy me dinner first. Now get moving.
*She throws Tanara a playful grin, and swats the side of her butt to get her moving. They had to get this going fast. Or more would die. Sin didn't want that. She was not quite herself, but Tanara reminded her of something, she couldn't kill Yularen if she did something stupid and died. She had to still be smart.
She took off down an alley, she knew the city well, she grew up here. Snuck out here. She had to get to the rooftop over there though. When she gets there. She looks to where the firing squad was. She bites her lip softly, concentrating on the storm she'd summoned, focusing it. The bolts started getting less natural again, more often the bolts struck inside the Plaza, a few times striking troopers directly. Sin stared at the firing squad troopers. She knew she'd never throw that far on her own. But she had the force and from the roof, she could throw quite aways. She lobbed the lone detonator she had as hard as she could towards the thickest area of troopers, using the force to get more distance.
She watched as it landed out in the Plaza at least, landing near troopers. She clicks the button on her remote to detonate the explosive. She smiled happily and then used the force to amplify her voice as she hollered out.*
A GIFT TO THE VILE FIRST ORDER SCUM FROM THE WAYWARD SON.
*Sin turned immediately and lept from the rooftop she'd been on, making sure to stay in sight for at least a few of them before she would jump down into the street. Blowing up a few troopers, insulting the order, announcing she was one of the ones they were looking for, if that didn't distract them from killing Nubians, she didn't know what would. She know needed to use every secret, every back alley and side street. She would need to keep ahead of any pursuit, but try and keep them searching for her at the same time. She worked her way to the Shuttle that Tanara was supposed to be securing. She hoped that the Twi'lek didn't have any trouble.*

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the city and Zalor became increasingly aware of how much the First Order was throwing at the capital city. Before Zalor knew what was going on, he could hear TIE Fighters roaring over head. To his relief, he could also hear the majestic hum of waves of N-1 Starfighters, but as Zalor began to scan the skies, he could quickly tell there wouldn't be enough N-1s to maintain air superiority. This, however, didn't comfort Zalor much. With the sight and sound of the TIE Fighters overhead, it quickly became clear to Zalor that his worst nightmare since the Battle of Dantooine was now coming true:
...war had come to Naboo. The First Order was sacking his homeworld.
He didn't have time to process everything that was going to happen, however. Within a few seconds..."Zalor!" Then a flash from space and an orbital bombardment was launched Loki twisted and ran back to Zalor and covered him with his bulk as the blast hit along with the TIE's weaponry the concussive force knocking them against a wall, shrapnel and debris slamming into Loki's back. he kneeled but still protected Zalor from the fallout, gasping he had forgotten to switch the pain off.
Zalor ducked and allowed the massive Zabrak to use his body to shield Zalor from the falling debris. Loki was tough, and he could take a beating. When they rose, as the dust settled, neither of them seemed any worse for wear. Truly, the Force was still with them.
Loki bellowed at Zalor to head back to the Ja'raak Inn to start rounding up the employees, guests, and other survivors. Zalor didn't need to be told twice. He nodded and broke into a run as the Zabrak and the Neubian headed back to the Ja'raak Inn. "Don't worry, I'm not leaving Theed until I know they're all safe."
As Zalor and Loki sped through the alleyways opposite of River Street, a message came over both Loki's and Zalor's comms - it was a city-wide message from the First Order:::Any resistance by the people of Naboo will not be tolerated. This is your first, and final, warning.:: Zalor was no doubt furious at the First Order's audacity to attack the sovereign kingdom of Naboo. It was an even more audacious move than attacking Dantooine, as Dantooine had an active Alliance presence, whereas Naboo did not. It was his homeworld, most importantly, and he was torn up by watching them tear it apart the same way. Although Zalor didn't plan to give in to his anger, as he knew that wouldn't help anyone - in a rare moment of emotional vulnerability, he shouted at the sky, as if to respond...
"We brought the Trade Federation to its knees with only three flights of N-1s, two-hundred volunteer fighters, an army of Gungans and two Jedi Knights! We have FAR MORE THAN THAT TODAY! YOU DON'T SCARE US!"
------------------
As they rounded the last corner to return to the Ja'raak Inn, the two warriors were immediately met with an entire battalion of First Order stormtroopers. The troopers immediately opened fire on them, and blaster shots sped past them. Zalor quickly assumed a Soresu blaster-guard stance, and started deflecting every shot he could back at them. Thanks to his expertise in blaster deflection, several of the stormtroopers fell to deflected shots within seconds of firing at the young Jedi Shadow.
Zalor knew he couldn't waist any time. These stormtroopers were between him and his beloved Inn, and the employees and guests within. He had to get them out as soon as possible. When the opportunity arose - he took it. Suddenly, with one motion of his left hand, Zalor summoned the Force. Immediately, all of the remaining thirty Stormtroopers lifted off the ground and floated helplessly in the air.
"Go!" Zalor shouted at Loki. "Get to the Inn and get Vaili, Tomaas and everyone else outta there! Don't forget my droid!"
Zalor turned and glared coldly at the stormtroopers that hung in the air at Zalor's mercy. "I'll handle these guys."
Zalor then threw his left arm back down - in doing so, slamming each and every stormtrooper he held back to the solid brick ground - HARD. Many of them would've likely survived this, but they were now definitely dazed, enough for Loki and Zalor to cut through them.
As Zalor sped forward, the supporting blaster turret suddenly began targeting Zalor specifically. Keeping his Soresu guard up, Zalor deflected each shot away, until he was close enough to run up to the turret and cut through its base by slicing it with his lightsaber as he ran by.

She was not quite herself, but Tanara reminded her of something, she couldn't kill Yularen if she did something stupid and died. She had to still be smart. She understood her pain. No, Tanara thought, she wouldn't have been able to walk away if she had been on Dantooine when the attacked started. One more thing the two girls had in common, neither could idly stand by while their people were hurt and killed. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't come up with anything to say to stop the Echani. She was just glad that she wasn't going to rush in blindly. She listened, at least in part. She sighed with resignation, reluctantly agreeing to the plan. She was caught off-guard though, when Sin gently touched her head with hers. It was, however brief, a tender moment between the two. Their short time together had allowed them to bond. The slap on the butt however, broke the moment. Tanara had not expected the other woman to be quite so forward, considering her reaction to them having shared a bed to sleep off their drunkenness. She welcomed the change though, as it briefly reminded her of her own relationship with her fiance."It's a date then!"She grinned back before running off towards the shuttle. Just one more thing she could rub in her fiancee's face to make him jealous. She found him incredibly attractive when he got jealous. Thinking about him however, proved to be a slight mistake, as she ran face first into the side of a building. She unceremoniously fell back on her butt dazed. She shook her head, muttering to herself."Okay, new plan. Stop thinking about Vincent..." Her fall proved to be fortunate for her, as a patrol of deathtroopers passed by on the other side of the building. They had no idea she was there. Time for a little vengeance of her own. She made sure both her blasters were still fully loaded, then leapt back to her feet and casually walked towards the armored patrol. Before they could even begin to turn to face her, she had already raised both pistols and unleashed a torrent of blaster fire upon them. To an onlooker, it would appear as though she was wielding a heavy repeater from the sheer number of blaster bolts that suddenly filled the air. All twelve of them fell to the ground in the time it took her to reach their position. They hadn't even had a chance to fire back. She blew away the smoke rising from the overheated gun barrels, then continued running to the shuttle.
By the time she got there, the shuttle had already been emptied, there were only two guards standing at the bottom of the ramp. She didn't even give them a glance as she ran past them, blasting both their helmets clean off. She had more important things to do. She entered the cockpit of the shuttle and immediately began the process of bringing the ship back online. Thankfully, the First Order rigorously followed standard procedure when they powered it down. This meant she could get the shuttle into the air that much quicker. She didn't need to waste time cycling the ship systems.
Within a minute, she was ready to lift off. For the time being, it looked like the TIEs had backed off, so short of taking ground fire, the shuttle wouldn't be in serious danger of being shot down. She lifted the shuttle off the roof and started gaining some altitude, so that she could get a better view of what was happening on the ground. She stayed low enough so that a Force user, like Sin, would be able to leap onto the ramp. She wasn't sure where the Echani had gone, so she started to fly back to her last known position. Hopefully she'd be able to spot her and pick her up before the troopers caught up to her.

While the Naboo N-1 had once been a majestic starfighter, it was little match for squadrons of TIE Interceptors and TIE Fighters, piloted by the deadly pilots of the First Order - the Empire's finest.
The Naboo Fighters may have stood a chance - if the vast majority of them hadn't been wiped out in the orbital strike before they ever lifted off of the ground.
With the Defense Forces routed, the First Order was making somewhat free with the violence - there were countless occasions of innocents simply being gunned down because they fled their bombed houses. Stormtroopers strode through streets, clearing the city block by block - they had come for the Wayward Sons, but they were using the opportunity to display what happened to rebels against the Empire.
A TIE Bomber screamed over the heads of Loki and Zalor, to deposit one of the most deadly weapons used yet - incendiary bombs - only a block away from Zalor's tavern. The fire was raging and spreading fast - fueled by harsh chemicals and the availability of easily burned materials.
Ahead of Zalor, his tavern would soon burn, but behind him a battalion of First Order troops systematically slaughtered one of the last bastions of Naboo resistance, a mixture of Royal Security Volunteers, Gungans and random civilians who had armed themselves. Zalor had a choice, save the lives of nearly two hundred of his freedom loving people, or save his tavern.
-----
Tamara had little trouble starting the shuttle - the men of the Brigand were obviously lax- for the consoles weren't properly locked down, and the girl would soon find herself in a database of clearance codes and communications frequencies - they would be able to run into Imperial communications. There was also some information on Yularen, including his rank, homeworld and his Command, though most of it was restricted.
-----
After initial surprise - resistance in this sector had been thought annihilated - the Stormtroopers reorganised. Two hundred troops set to sweeping the streets for that girl, hunting in squads.
When Sin reached the shuttle and Tamara, she would be greeted by the sight of a bombing screaming low overhead, to drop another set of incendiary explosives ten blocks away - the great grouts of flame visible even at that distance.
Naboo was being made an example of in the most ruthless way possible - the rape of her capital city.

"Cover me!" Loki roared as he dipped behind Zalor and leapt up using the force and his enhanced strength to leap atop a building adjoining the road, he was unarmed as he drew blaster fire from the blockade. Now to wait for the opportunity.
There it was, an N-1 fighter screamed over head tailed by a TIE fighter, Loki sneered and reached with the force, suddenly the TIE halted its progress blasters still firing, Loki twisted his hands and the TIE flew down with a wrenching motion it slammed full force into the blockade, causing chaos among the first orders troops and saving the N-1 pilots life in the process. Loki jumped down next to Zalor landing in a crouch. "We don't have time to waste fighting these blockades." Loki said calmly igniting his black bladed saber, and moving forward there was a number of survivors from the TIE's impact but little cohesion among them as a few stray shots flew their way Loki sending them back discriminately moving forward steadily without fear.

Venator slowed down, the harrying forces of the enemy where daunting but not a true threat. The clone sneered and looked around, he kicked in a door and entered a building, killing the hiding man inside the kitchen, then he moved upstairs, looking for another way out of this force forsaken city. Smashing through a hatch the clone ended up on a roof top. "Hmm..." He hummed to himself and jumped to the next roof top, and the next heading for the space port. Wondering where the force harrying him was leading him, if they stuck to their pattern they should strike from a new direction soon.

The Troopers continued to harry the Clone, drawing him closer and closer to the concussion charges laid out across the street. They'd draw him in, then hit him with stun blasts from several different positions.
Of course that was typical of a force user - to leave the street for a roof top. Eager to catch the might Zabrak, the Troopers attempted to draw him back to them and the concussion charges by shooting to actually hit the monster.

*Shade had grown irritated by the near constant bombing runs over the city. The brutal and savage tactics employed by the first order against the near defenseless city had gotten to him after the first few hours. After sending the relief fleet in orbit the transmission he moved about the city setting up several laser guided missile platforms on the rooftops of abandoned facilities throughout the city. It had taken him half the night but finally they were all in place. Several Dozen fighters, interceptors, and bombers were constantly filling the skies over Naboo's capital city and so there was no shortage of targets - and he knew for a fact these fighters had little in the way of counter-measures. They were working under the assumption that Naboo's defenses were already down - their arrogance would be the undoing of dozens of Imperial Pilots tonight.
Shade had finally relocated to a secluded rooftop away from the 12 missile defense platforms he had constructed over the course of the evening - their materials already in place. He had been preparing for something like this sense he was left here several months ago. Protected by his stealth suit from nearly all forms of technological detection he flipped the cover of his control gauntlet open and set the auto detect on the missile platforms to active and then shouldered his N-415 Heavy Infiltrator and raised his sights to the skies. His wrist-gaunt began to beep once... twice... three... seven... ten... twelve. All missile defense platforms had acquired targets and he had just found his own. Eyeing the cockpit of the lead bomber of its squadron he whispered softly under his breath.*
"Wrong Planet... Bastard!"
*Squeezing the hair trigger his shoulder sprung back from the recoil and the plasma charge shot instantly through the air towards the cockpit of the Bomber - seconds later all 12 missile defense platforms let loose their first volley into the skies over Theed. After the first it would take 15 seconds for the Platforms to acquire their next target and fire again - Shade however was slightly more affective, three seconds after he had released the first shot he had already acquired and fired again - the next blast following soon after the first even before the first bolt had found home in the pilots skull. Shade was one of the best marksman in the Shadowalkers, and today such a skill would come in handy.*

*Sin seen the shuttle fly over her, She easily jumped up into the Shuttle closing its door behind her. She slumps into a chair. Her silver gaze focused on the bomber. She tilted her head to the side, reaching out with the force, it took a moment of focus, but panels on the Bomber rippled, then a few bent. It would look like a tin can crushing, more and more, until explosions of its unspent payloads went off, ripping it apart.
She sighs deeply, leaning forwards. The fires were raging through out the city. She shakes her head, her silver hair bouncing on her shoulders as she looked upon it. How could anyone be this heartless. She looked upward out the viewport. She smiles seeing the storm clouds still circling. She shakes her head again.*
Now why didn't I think of that before....
*She throws a small smile at Tanara, thought it didn't last long. She thought of how best her storm could be used. Not all of the spells her mother had taught her had to be used for violence. She started uttering more Dathmori words, the storm would grow larger still, covering most of the city. The lightning was not as frequent, it still struck randomly, like storms do. But a blanket of rain would soon begin falling over the city, some fires would need more then water, but it would put some of it out, and help keep down slowed down. She leans back into the seat heavily when she was done with her spell. She puts down the coordinates of the Villa, then She closed her eyes. She'd lost track of the times today she wished this nightmare to end.*
That's where we're supposed to go..
*She groans softly, bacta had helped but settling into the chair she realized it wasn't completely gone. she hadn't the time before to acknowledge it. She stole a glance at Tanara to see how she was doing. She bites down on her lip nervously. More things today she couldn't believe had happened. She shakes her head again.*

Once Zalor and Loki had finished mopping up the last of the checkpoint stormtroopers, Zalor stood and faced the Ja'raak Inn. The entire block near it was now on fire. He ran towards it, determined to make sure everyone got out safe.
To his relief, as he did so, he saw a group of guests running out of the Ja'raak Inn's front doors, followed closely by Vaili, Tomaas, Ungav and Dorme, the Inn's night crew. Behind them, to his further relief, was R2-D4, shooing everyone out the door with frantic beeps and clicks. When the droid emerged outside, without needing to be told to do so, the resourceful astromech droid immediately began emitting a large smokescreen from his chassis, in an effort to cover the civilian's escape and blind enemy troops.
"ZALOR!" Vaili, the Twi'lek spotted Zalor immediately. She and the other employees ran over to meet Zalor, and Zalor ran to them to make up the distance.
"Vaili! Guys! Thank the Force you're all alright!" Zalor couldn't resist a relieved smile when he saw them all together.
Tomaas shot a startled look at Zalor, despite already being on edge from the evacuation notice, and he stared at what was in Zalor's right hand... "Boss?! Is that..."
"...a lightsaber?!" Ungav, the Duros Inn worker pointed at Zalor's weapon in amazement.
Vaili, who now knew it was pointless to hide Zalor's true identity from the rest of the Ja'raak Inn crew, turned to them with a solemn, but reassuring look, and spoke calmly, as calmly as she could, despite being close to tears... "Everyone - I think it's best you know now...Zalor Anneri, our former boss - is a Jedi Knight. And right now, he and his friends are gonna protect us while we escape the city. We need to stay close to him if we want to make it out of here alive. Everyone understood?"
Being full aware of what was happening, the Ja'raak Inn staff quickly nodded their heads in understanding, not daring to question either Zalor or Vaili. Many of them, in fact, seem relieved by this revelation.
[Whistle-beep-beep-click-whistle-beep] Suddenly, Artoo began frantically beeping and whistling to Zalor, as if to warn him of further incoming trouble.
Zalor wasted no time translating for the droid. "We can't stay here. Artoo says there's another battalion of enemy troopers headed our way. We have to get mo..."
No sooner had Zalor said that then more blaster fire came flying at them from beyond the fog that Artoo had created. Enemy reinforcements had already arrived and had spotted them. Both Loki and Zalor moved to defend the Ja'raak Inn employees. As he did so, Zalor grabbed his comlink, switched comlink channels, and shouted into it...
::Mayday! Mayday! To any RPF units on this frequency, this is Jedi Knight Zalor Anneri! I'm attempting to round up civilians on River Street, but we are overrun by First Order Infantry! I repeat, River Street is overrun and the First Order is massacring civilians! We require immediate assistance from any nearby RPF units still active! Does anyone copy?!::
What seemed like forever, but was only a few seconds, passed and it seemed as though there was no response.
Then - the red blaster bolts from the First Order troops were suddenly matched by green ones shooting at them from behind the group. Zalor wheeled around behind him to see a true sight of relief - a small group of about twenty to twenty-five Royal Guard fighters, accompanied by a Flash Speeder, the mainstay patrol vehicle of the RPF, were advancing on Zalor and Loki's position to intercept the First Order Stormtroopers from across the bridge.
Zalor quickly turned to the Ja'raak Inn staff. "Get behind the Flash Speeder! Go!" The others obeyed without question, and the group was able to retreat behind the RPF fighters with both Loki and Zalor providing cover.
When the RPF force had entrenched, and the group was relatively covered, a ranking officer from the rear motioned towards Zalor. "Jedi! Over here!"
When Zalor approached the officer, he found that he recognized the man right away. "Corporal Tevaux?"
"Zalor Anneri - boy, are you a sight for sore eyes. Good to see you still alive, Master Jedi." The bald, tough looking RPF officer beamed with relief.
"Corporal, I need to know if there are any evacuation points still in the city. I've got civilians here."
"Fortunately, we still have a very small, but very tight perimeter at the corner of Museum and 35th Streets! Gungans from Otah Gunga have a fleet of submersibles transporting civilians to Lake Country via the river at the boat docks down there. I don't know how long we'll be able to hold that perimeter, so if I were you, I'd round up everyone I can and get them there ASAP!"
"That's not far from here - only a few kilometers!" Vaili chimed in. "We might still be able to save some people!"
Zalor nodded in response, very much relieved by this news. "I'll get everyone I can over there, Corporal!"
"My men and I will cover your escape. If I don't see you again, Zalor..." Tevaux gave Zalor a solemn salute. Zalor could see in the Corporal's eyes that he didn't plan on joining the evacuation. "...it's been a pleasure serving you."
Zalor nodded in response - knowing for certain he wouldn't ever see Tevaux or his men ever again. He honored their sacrifice the best way he could. "May the Force be with you, Corporal."
With that, Zalor motioned towards Loki, Artoo and the group. "Let's go!" He began leading them towards Museum Street - in spite of the chaos that had enveloped the city of Theed, Zalor knew the way by heart.
He stopped and turned one last time to look at the RPF soldiers trading fire with the First Order troops - bravely giving their lives. Beyond that - the Ja'raak Inn...
...now fully ablaze. His home for the last seven years - gone.
Loki tapped Zalor on the shoulder, said something to him, and Zalor snapped back to focus. He turned and headed down the bridge, never to see the Ja'raak Inn again.
With the Inn gone, one last thing crossed Zalor's mind...and he turned to Vaili as they went down the street. "Vaili...call Tryn. I wanna know if he and Alonae are alright."
Tears now streamed down Vaili's face, and she frantically activated her comlink. "I've tried several times since the evacuation notice came out. There's been no response from either of them. I'll try again." Quivering, she held the comlink to her face. With a shaky voice, she called into it... ::Tryn! Tryn! It's Vaili! I've got the others out, and I've found Zalor. He's alive, Tryn. We're getting out of the city - do you copy? Tryn? Tryn?!::
No response came.
Vaili turned to face Zalor, shaking her head as more tears came. "Still nothing."
Despite his training, Zalor's emotions were starting to become raw, and a lone tear found its way down his cheek. Deep down inside, he already knew why Tryn wasn't responding.
To their right, Zalor heard more blaster fire. If they turned east, they could see the First Order troops executing the Gungans and RPFs they had rounded up earlier. Both Zalor and Loki were too late to save them.
He knew, with civilians in tow, there was no point engaging the firing squads now. He stopped and turned to Loki, calmly and solemnly muttering to the Zabrak... "As a Jedi, I don't believe in revenge or hatred. That being said, Loki - make no mistake - whoever was responsible for this outrage... will answer for it. I only pray to the Force that is not my lightsaber they will have to answer to. I think it would be a mercy."

She'd lost track of the times today she wished this nightmare to end.*That's where we're supposed to go.. *She groans softly, bacta had helped but settling into the chair she realized it wasn't completely gone. she hadn't the time before to acknowledge it. She stole a glance at Tanara to see how she was doing. She bites down on her lip nervously. More things today she couldn't believe had happened. She shakes her head again.* Tanara was impressed with Sin's control over the weather. She was certainly a lot more powerful than she appeared. The Twi'lek was pleased that she was on their side, and neither of them were ready to pack it in yet. The ship she had stolen was a guardian-class light cruiser, which unlike the more popular Lambda-class shuttles, had turbolasers installed. Time for some payback. "Oh, we ain't done yet girl. Go man one of the turbolasers. You wanted to save those people in the plaza? We're gonna give them the best distraction for their escape ever."
She flew the ship in a tight circle over the city, coming back around as she warmed up the weapons system. From the altitude she gained, she had a much better vantage point to see where the Deathtrooper patrols were, and which would be more easily targeted. She decided to start with the plaza, where she and Sin had split up. There were still people being lined up for execution, and she would be damned if she was gonna leave without helping even a little bit. As soon as she was within range, she opened fire with the two forward laser cannons while Sinina fired from one of the side mounted double turbolasers. Over a hundred of deathtroopers were sent flying by the blasts. Even if they could only kill a few hundred, it would still hopefully be enough of a distraction to allow the prisoners a chance to escape their captors. If her grandfather had been there, he would've greatly appreciated the irony of the First Order troopers being killed by aerial assault with their own weapons.
She pulled the ship up and begun the turn for another pass. Now that the skies were temporarily clear of TIE fighters, she wanted to make use of this opportunity to the fullest extent. And she did. On their second pass they killed another hundred and twenty. By now, the troopers had begun to evacuate the plaza, seeking cover from the blasts, leaving their prisoners completely unattended. Though confused why a First Order ship was firing on it's own troops, they wasted no time in using the distraction to flee. Tanara tried to watch them run, but lost sight of them as she steered the spacecraft for their final pass. According to her displays, she had maybe five minute to leave the city before more TIEs showed up. At this point, most of the troopers had found cover, so they were only able to kill another fifty troopers. She was fine with that though, their distraction was a success.
She sighed as she steered the ship away from the city, accelerating as much as she safely could. They needed as much distance as they could get before those TIEs showed up. She kept the ship low to the ground as they made their escape, knowing it would make it harder for the fighters to target them. Once they were safely away, she hesitantly gained some altitude. By this point Sin and returned to the cockpit and inputted the coordinates to the villa. To the Twi'lek, she looked exhausted. She couldn't blame her, as she had just used a lot of Force energy, as well as having to deal with the emotional pain of watching her home burn. Tanara herself had spent nearly a full day asleep after everything that happened on Dantooine."I'm sorry Sin. I really am."

An explosion behind Zalor destroyed the bridge - the brave actions of a dying Corporal Trevaux, shot through the guts by Blaster fire and left to die from horrific internal burns. Aside from a few parting shots from FO Stormtroopers, Zalor and his guests made it away unscathed and unopposed. The Stormtroopers were hindered by the loss of the bridge, and they were not pleased about it.
The only thing the band would find on their way to one of the few remaining RPF positions would be corpses and the wounded. The horrific moaning and screaming of wounded Naboo and Gungans was an even more prominent sound than the sound of gunfire and the scream of TIEs.
It was obvious the First Order had already been through here. Whole families lay butchered, men women and children. Zalor would find a pair of twins, one sitting weeping over the ruined body of his sibling, a young boy crushed by what was becoming an example of what happened to those who resisted - it had gone beyond war and become virtual genocide.
This was no longer the work of Commodore Yularen - a man who used brutality and violence for a purpose - and had become the handiwork of the extremely violent Colonel Rusper Blunt, commander of Yularen's ground forces.
When they reached the RPF barricades, they'd find the evidence of fierce fighting and bombing, and a recently withdrawn company of First Order Stormtroopers. There was little cheer among the Naboo, however, for they had been losing before the Stormtroopers pulled back - it was clear they simply held no more value in attacking their position, rather than being beaten back.
A few unexploded shells went off, and fires blazed across a ruined city, but Stormtroopers were slowly withdrawing back to their transports, in a slow but purposeful fashion, on orders from Yularen himself.
-----
The Stormtroopers took heavy casualties, but ultimately didn't care too much. They didn't bother chasing the prisoners. Save some missile fire and blasters, Tanara and Sin were mostly unopposed in their strafing runs.
Platoons and squads slowly withdrew to the plaza by ones and twos, setting up some sort of plan as they did so.
-----
A hologram of Yularen sprang up in the command post of his chief ground officer, cold and somewhat displeased. "You have been more than brutal in your pursuit of this mission, Blunt, and you've still failed. There is a difference between heavy handed force to make a point and virtual genocide."
Blunt nodded sheepishly, wondering what his commander would do to him. " Regardless, Blunt, we can make something of this. Soon Galactic Alliance troops will be on the ground, this is a perfect opportunity to kill them. "
Blunt cracked a smile, relieved. "Excellent, sir! I'll set up defe-" Yularen cut the Colonel off mid sentence. "You will continue your slow withdrawal, Blunt. Have your men set up the package as they retreat. We will deliver it from the ground and the air when we let the Alliance Troopers through."
Blunt nodded, somewhat unsure. "Very well. But what package will we deploy, Commodore?"
Yularen smiled.
"You will be deploying cannisters of Dioxis gas across the city, Colonel, we're going to wipe out the Alliance forces with Nerve Agent while Major Regulus retrieves our targets from their new positions."

*Shade's missile defense platforms continued to tear shreds into the Fighters flying patterns over the city explosion after explosion sending the First Order pilots to their death Each platform contained 12 missiles, and with the myriad of platforms around the city they could all take out six or seven entire squadrons of starfighters and bombers alone. Shade on the other hand would clean up the rest - the high powered sniper rifle he was firing packing more than enough of a punch to tear through the transparasteel cockpits and slay the pilot - or if he missed at the least wreak havoc for the ships internal systems as well as destroy the atmospheric conditions within the ship preventing the ship from attaining high altitudes and removing any hope of the fighters returning to their ship. The invading air forces were priority one - removing them would mean relief forces would be able to land unhindered - and by the time his Missile defense systems had fired dry there would be little to no fighters left in the skies over Theed.*

The Fighters withdrew to their motherships to refuel and rearm.
Meanwhile, the First Order blocked all transmissions to and from the planet. As this was done by using varying frequencies of radio waves l, it couldn't be bypassed, even with secret networks. The only way to take a message to orbit was now via a messenger.

The clone stopped moving, he looked around and down off the edge of a building, here is where the force lead him. He dropped down from the building and disengaged his saber looking around holding his hands high above his head.
"Come out come out, wherever you are." He bellowed against the din of battle waiting for the Troopers to approach, it was time to get off this world, and meet the commander of the attack. Perhaps some good would come of this day yet.
