*Shawn listened as she spoke though he noticed she didn't meet his gaze. He gave a sigh before running his hand through his hair.* "I'm sorry about that. I guess it's partially my fault. I did kind of encourage you to tell them, though you knew what they would say. I gave you a false sense of hope." *He walked beside her and looked down into the water. He gazed upon his reflection. What he saw there was a strong man, forged through the hardships of survival, but there was something else. There was emptiness, something that had never been filled by one thing or another. It was something that he was missing that was necessary in understanding and helping others.*

Ashelynn shook her head and looked up at him, placing her hands gently on his upper arm No! No it wasn't your fault, I was bound to speak to them about this at some point anyway... all you did was encourage me When she smiled at him it was small, and not quite right, but it was a smile. The dream is not gone just... just wounded She looked at him a moment, before realizing how close she was to him and she quickly took her hands from him and stepped away from him and blushing slightly. She turned and looked down at the water and cleared her throat Anyway, the offer of the guest room still stands... I am sorry to pull you into my problems She avoided the gaze of even his reflection and sighed silently

*Shawn did not turn his gaze from the water, his cold emerald eyes staring back at himself. He couldn't help but wonder what he truly gained all those years on Dagobah. He was so different than Gavin. He knew there was feeling there, something more. It was the something he lacked. And he knew it was the something that had caused Gavin to drop him here. He didn't stay and Shawn understood why. Only he could bring that change in his life. He needed to open up, needed to get involved with others. Thinking on the offer she had given him, it seemed now was the best place to start.* "Problems are always there, I suppose." *Taking a deep breath, he finally looked away from himself and to her.* "I guess I'll take you up on that offer."

She turned to gaze up at him with surprised eyes, almost in disbelief that he'd want to after seeing the dramatics that her family caused her. Yet when she smiled it was bright and almost carefree Then I suppose we should head back so you can settle in. I'm sure the worst of the storm has blown over by now Ashelynn looked back down the street towards her family's cafe and sighed Perhaps I could just up and leave one day, not say anything to them until I've gone... That spark of hope he had talked into her earlier that day was still somewhere inside her, if not just hidden. She thought about her mother and father and how much she cared for them, but she was old enough to make her own decisions and she wanted to see as much as she could. She smiled slightly and looked back at Shawn, tilting her head in curiousity. Who was this man she so easily befriended? Shall we?

*Shawn nodded as he motioned for he to lead the way. He didn't say anything at first, choosing only to follow and make their way back to the cafe. Many thoughts continued to plague his mind, but he kept them to his self. Instead he thought upon her words about suddenly leaving with no word.* "I would advise against leaving like that. I know you want to go and want your parents to understand, but it would end badly that way. Your parents would become very worried; there's no telling how it could affect them."

Ashelynn walked back towards her home, walking slowly to delay their return as she didn't wish to see her parents right away. She peeked at Shawn from the corner of her eye and wondered more about him. Here he was, seemingly out of nowhere, and she was intrigued by him. How quickly she had come to trust his words, for all she knew he could be a creepy murderer. Yet, when she had looked into his eyes, she didn't get any bad feelings, and she was good at reading people. We'll go in the back way to avoid confrontation, I'll speak with them again once the store closes... Her voice was soft, as she was mostly speaking to herself. Just before they got to the cafe, Ashelynn took a sharp turn down an alleyway to the back of the building, where two entries stood carved into the back wall. Ashelynn took the entry on the right which led them up two flights of stairs, and during their climb she explained that the other entry led to the kitchens. At the top of the second flight of stairs was a landing and a door. Ashelynn unlocked the door and pushed it aside, leading them into a small hallway. This floor consists of mine and the guest rooms. My parents are on the second floor as well as their office. She stopped in front of the closest door to the left of them and opened it. The room they entered was decorated in the styles of Naboo and brought a relaxing sensation to the eyes. Soft golds and blues were the colors that adorned the room's decor, including a canopy bed with blue blankets. Refresher is through that door Ashelynn pointed to her right and then indicated to the window straight ahead from them There's a balcony, but you'll have to climb through the window, it spans across the front of the building. It's one of my favorite places... She smiled slightly and turned to him, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet she cleared her throat. I'll leave you to it then, if you need anything at all my room is just next door Ashelynn felt silly saying this as her room was the only other one on this floor, it would be quite impossible for Shawn to get lost with only one other door on the level

*Shawn followed Ashelynn up the street. He had expected to go through the front door, but was surprised when she walked around the back. Slowly they made their way around, going up the steps until they came to the door. Walking in, he looked around to all the points she made around the room. He had to admit it was a nice room. He dropped his bag on the ground. Looking back to her he gave her a smile and nodded.* "Thank you. Hopefully me being here won't cause any more trouble."

Ashelynn offered up a shrug and a sweet smile as she had given him earlier and turned to the door Oh it's no trouble, I'll go tell them we have company. If you're hungry later I'll come get you around supper time. She left the room with that and made her way down the stairs to the kitchen and spoke with her parents again, this time they were more accepting and after the shop was closed for the day, her mother began to prepare the evening meal. Ashelynn went up to her own room to freshen up, brushing out her long dark hair with patience. After dressing in an emerald green tunic dress and braided back her hair, she slipped through her window and out onto the balcony, looking over her city. Leaning on the railing, Ashelynn gave a sigh and smiled slightly, admiring her favorite view

*Shawn watched as she left. Once she was gone, he wasted no time in stripping from his clothes and heading to the refresher. He spent his time in the shower taking in its warmth. It had been quite some time since he had felt clean and rejuvenated like this. Once the shower was done, he moved back to the main room and grabbed a fresh pair of pants. She said she'd come back when it was supper time, so in that time, he sat down and meditated.*

It had been a few minutes since Shawn had started meditating. Barely any time compared to normal, and he was finished. For some reason, he wasn't able to focus like normal. Perhaps it was because he was in someone's house. Whatever the reason, he stood to his feet. Ashelynn mentioned a balcony just outside the Windows. Deciding to get some air, he grabbed a shirt and proceeded to open the window and moved outside. There he saw Ash in her dress. Compared to her, his atire was very plain.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude."

Lucy, gratefully taking the out that Forcias provides her with, cheerfully tosses the keys to him and bumps her hip against him as she says sweetly, "Dope? My dear, dear sweet dope? Let me introduce you to this amazing concept called the white lie. You must embrace them. They can keep a day from being ruined, or possibly even save your life. For example, if I ever you ask you if something makes my butt look fat, what will you say? Tell the truth? No, she shakes her head, clucking her tongue, instead you tell a white lie and live to face another day. See? Easy."
Her point hopefully made, Lucy slides into the passenger seat after kissing Forcias on the cheek gently, jokingly asking, "Should I cover my eyes? Lifting her hands as though in surrender, she says, Kidding, kidding. I'm sure we'll make it to Theed in one piece. Really. Truly. Honest. As they get underway and she gets Forcias heading in the right direction, Lucy reaches over and slips her hand into his, smiling as she says, I'm glad you decided to come along, then puts on a horrified expression and points forward as she shouts, Watch out for that falumpaset!! Laughing when it is clear that there was never any danger, Lucy apologizes, Sorry, I always wanted to say 'Watch out for that falumpaset!' then repeats, Falumpaset," since she enjoys saying the word so much, before settling back in her seat as Forcias guides the speeder on towards Theed. Now that they were at destination, Forcias parked the airspeeder to where others were sitting, before even getting off, since he still had a hold of her hand considering she slipped hers in his earlier, he briefly turned on his seat to face her and he looked at her as if he was about to announce the most important thing that the universe was about to hear. “Okay, let’s get a few things straight,” Forcias began to say as he removed his aviator sunglasses – that he conveniently put on before heading to Theed – and let those sit atop his head. “First of all, your example about the white lie is completely silly.” He said sincerely before frowning, there were no traces of humor on his features, and yes he had decided to go with the obtuse route right then and there. “For having seen your butt up close and knowing it very intimately, I don’t see what you could put on to make your butt look fat.” Forcias shut his mouth for a moment and arched his eyebrow before smirking. His expression softened from that seriousness that was there a few moments ago. “But fine, I get it, although I still think you butt is perfect.” Shrugging nonchalantly, he put his sunglasses back on and took a deep breath. “Now since you seem fond of that word falumpaset, how about you say it again when we actually do ride one tomorrow or before we leave this place?” Forcias suggested thoughtfully before he finally let go of her hand and got out of the airspeeder with her, automatically he went to her side and wrapped an arm around her shoulders and held her close to him. “Where to first, navigator?” Asked he with a warm smile.

"You can ride falumpasets? Lucy asks skeptically after smiling when Forcias compliments her butt, then shrugs and says, Cool, we'll have to look into that. Tapping her cheek with a finger when Forcias asks what they should do first, not wanting to get into one of those circular conversations where she asks what he wants to do and he replies by asking what she wants to do, Lucy, who is not typically into the usual touristy crap, decides that it might be entertaining for Forcias since she has no idea what he enjoys and, if nothing else, she might learn what it is that he likes to do with his free time, grabs his hand and says, Let's move out," cheerfully once she has an idea.
Heading for one of the canal areas of the city, Lucy books them on a gondola tour, which she imagines will not only be one of those goofy romantic things that couples do, but will also give her ideas of what else there is to do in the city. Curled up against Forcias, Lucy is surprised to find that she actually enjoys the tour, which is not only corny and romantic, but does reveal several things in the city that she and Forcias can do. After the gondola tour, Lucy, not a museum person herself, suggests they check out the Pamelli Museum of Art since Forcias might enjoy it and their gondola guide had mentioned it was a good place to get lunch or dinner. The art just about puts her to sleep, but Lucy does her best to pay attention to those works that seem to interest Forcias, and the lunch in a garden surrounded courtyard is enjoyable. Lucy can't remember everything they talk about as the day goes on, though she never feels bored with Forcias' company, enjoying simply being with him and learning little things about him and sharing little trivial things about herself like how she hates reading but loves music, or what outdoor activities she enjoys and so on; opening up slowly since she is so used to being guarded or to presenting a strong, tough front.
After touring the Royal Palace, another touristy activity she had never done before, Lucy suggests that they get the shopping out of the way, finishing her clothes shopping as quickly as promised before stocking up on the groceries they will need for the remainder of their trip. As, shortly after mid-day, they put the bags in the speeder's rear compartment, Lucy suggests, "We can go back to the cabin and chill for a while before dinner. You still want to come back to the city tonight, right? Sliding into the passenger seat since she figures it won't kill her to let Forcias handle the piloting since he seems to enjoy it, Lucy asks, Did you get any ideas about where we should eat?"

. . . And Forcias found out that he really, but really wasn’t an art person. He was listening with attention but really just no even if there were some parts that interested him; he had actually preferred to be tossed in a pit full of rancor than tour a museum. . . At least he was trying new things, right? But really he preferred being in a spaceship or even under water or just doing something that required his strength and stamina. If Horsea found out that he had been through an art museum, he knew that she would be laughing her ass off.
Everything beside the art though, was still a good time, from the gondola tour to overall just spend that time with her. He was glad to have followed her that very morning and not just stay there back at the cabin doing nothing. . .
Now that they were back at the airspeeder, Forcias got in and pursed his lips thoughtfully before looking at Lucy with a very serious expression. “Before I answer that. . .” Began to say Forcias thoughtfully, he did not want to actually say anything bad right now, or even say a white lie because that wouldn’t work for this occasion. “Please let’s not have another museum tour.” Forcias finally said bluntly while he made a face, he clearly wasn’t an art kind of guy, seriously though but everything else, which caused him to smile affectionately before he placed his hands on her cheeks. “The rest was great, so thank you for showing me a good time.” He leaned over to peck her lips softly before he pulled back and smiled warmly.
Now back to the nitty gritty part of the remainder of their evening, on where to eat, actually he did notice a place where he could just hang out for a bite. He could have sworn he might have noticed a place there or maybe he was mistaken because he was too taken by being with Lucy. . . “How about we check out the Broadberry Meadow, tonight?” Suggested Forcias thoughtfully before smirking at the other idea he had. He turned to look at her with a mischievous expression and smirked.
“Or we could actually go to Kaadara and you can just let me enjoy seeing you in a bikini?” Nibbling his lower lip before chuckling, Forcias took her hand and kissed the back of hers affectionately.

Lifting her head and laughing when Forcias asks that they don't ever tour a museum again, Lucy takes a moment before able to nod and reply, "Roger that, adding as she punches him in the arm, You could have spared us both some agony by asking earlier dope, admitting, That was one of the more frakkin' boring hours of my life. Curling up against Forcias's side when he lets her know that he enjoyed the rest of the day despite the museum tour, Lucy purrs, It was great, wasn't it? clearly not congratulating herself but telling him that she had as good a time as he. And the day isn't even over yet," she points out as they continue on their way back towards the cabin.
Arching an eyebrow when Forcias presents his options for the evening, one of which apparently involves her and a bikini, Lucy tells him, "You can see that at the lake, or, she smiles mischievously, I could work on my all over tan instead, which I probably couldn't get away with at Kaadara. Pursing her lips in thought, giving the matter more serious consideration, Lucy says, Or, we could make it a two or three day trip to Kadaara starting tonight? Staying on the beach could be cool, she muses, and it's a resorty place, right? Probably lots to do. Elbowing him in the ribs, she adds teasingly, Lots of babes in bikinis for you and surfer dudes for me to drool over. I've heard there's some great reefs if you like to scuba or snorkel too. Shrugging, Lucy asks, What do you think? Head back to the cabin and pack up for a night or two, book into someplace on the beach, then head out for dinner before checking in?"

Forcias let out a sigh of relief when he found out that even Lucy had been bored during their tour at the art museum, but his sigh of relief was short-lived when she punched his shoulder and he glanced at her with dramatic flourish. “You have chosen it, and we were already there.” Forcias muttered before taking a deep breath while he started the airspeeder to make their way back towards the cabin. “I should have probably pushed you in a dark corner. . .” Added on Forcias before rolling his eyes playfully, next time then if and when he found something boring, he might actually do something like that. Right now though even though he was still piloting, he had wrapped an arm around her and just held her against him, it was just he rolled, he was certain that he could even pilot this without his hands but he wasn’t going to tempt that at all anyways, he could be crazy but he wasn’t that crazy. “Mmmm. . .” Concurred Forcias to her statement that the day wasn’t over just yet. If they had a great day insofar despite how it had even started originally and now that he was having that prospect of seeing her in a bikini back in Kaadara, well that really made him smirk. Although at one of her statements, he bit his lower lip and briefly closed his eyes before clearing his throat. “My dearest sexy butt.” Began Forcias factually as he briefly glanced at her with a knowing expression. “Are you really sure that you will be able to correctly tan overall but at the lake, because,” He arched his eyebrow and chuckled nervously. “Things happen when you are naked, that causes me to be naked also and then, the staring completely goes out of the window.”Forcias knew that much, most of the time he couldn’t really resist her at all so he was definitely going to take that solution she had presented Kaadara with babes in bikini not that he would even care that much and surfer dudes for her. “Let’s pack and do exactly that. . .” Said he after her suggestion while he continued to lead them to the cabin. . .

Though he remained on foot, the surly Zabrak moved with purpose, his sheer presence moving those in his way around him and his deft footsteps maneuvering him around those too oblivious to see him.
Rutil had only been on the trail of this holocron for a few days, and he already felt as though he were behind the curve. He had been in a far-removed system when he first heard the rumors of a lost holocron on Naboo, which meant the news had almost certainly been heard by others (one of whom he had just finished having a rather enlightening chat with). Making things even better, Rutil was being followed. At least his shadow had the courtesy to be obvious enough about it, wearing a black cloak in a day and age where only those under the dark side's thrall wore black cloaks. No matter how the infamously grumpy Jedi parsed the information, he was behind the curve, and every second he spent in the serene capital was a second people were getting closer to that holocron.
Long strides carried Rutil through the area immediately outside the starport, itself set below the city proper, next to a massive waterfall. It was not far from a marina, where travelers could continue on their way by boat rather than speeder to their final destination. The Jedi was not especially fond of the idea, taking a watercraft when people were advancing through far faster means of transportation. But he felt his approach was more than adequate. His foes would likely have speed or firepower on their side. In the case of the cloaked figure following him from a healthy distance away, they had a certain degree of cunning. But Rutil had them licked in the most important aspect of all; wisdom. Firepower meant nothing if you did not land a shot. Speed meant even less if it carried you the wrong way. And cunning could only get you so far before you ran into someone wittier than yourself. But wisdom? Wisdom would outstrip every other consideration by leaps and bounds, provided one had the patience to listen to it.
For instance, the holocron had landed in the ocean. By the time even the first treasure seeker looking for a bit of pocket change could reach it, it would be sitting pretty on the ocean floor somewhere. The Royal Security Force might have started a search, but how helpful could they really be? They shot down the freighter carrying the holocron with nary a care for it, and so far as Rutil could tell they had not even started to sift, to say nothing about the creatures roaming the deep, unable to distinguish treasure from treat. For a people that lived on a planet covered with oceans, the Naboo seemed to know very little about them.
In comparison to their amphibious neighbors, anyway.
As the Force would have it, Rutil spotted one such neighbor at the far end of the marina, tending to his boat. A few moments and a few credits later, the old Jedi found himself aboard, the boat itself pulling away from the docks and towards the nearest Gungan settlement.

Approximately 12 years ago, Coronet, Corellia...
Tears streaked his bloodied face.
Raindrops hammered down on a scene painted in gray, a single boy huddled over the cold form of a pale woman. Red dots lined her inner arm like intricate tattoos. A syringe still protruded from her arm, depressed and empty. "You can't hurt me now," he babbled, "no one can hurt me now." The dreary Corellian day offered few to witness the somber scene, but the man who did knew him immediately.
Gray haired and overflowing with compassion, the elderly man recalled the boy from his market stall. "Alkor!" he called out. The child stared numbly up at him. "Alkor, what happened here?"
His hurried run halted when he saw it. Evidence of a struggle, fingernail indentations where the boy had strangled the life from the drug addled woman. The man went pale. "She hit me again," came the raspy response, "and again."
"Have you eaten?" he asked rhetorically. Bones appeared ready to rip free from the youth's sides with every breath. "Alkor, come with me. Let's get you fed."
"No," he replied softly, "I will not rely on anyone else. Not ever again."
"Alkor?" the old man turned slowly to see the boy drag a knife from the corpse. "Alkor! Put it down!"
"I'm strong," he asserted angrily. "I will show you my strength, like I showed her."
Screams swallowed them both.
Present Day, Theed
"Not ever again."
Alkor slowly took in the city as he stepped off the transport. Theed rarely changed. Rustic buildings of modest height decorated either side of the street. Windows carved from stained glass filtered beautiful, colored pictures onto the street as he walked. The warm sunlight burned in stark contrast with his thoughts.
He looked markedly different from most spacers, and even most Jedi. Almost Sithlike in attire, his robes appeared dirty and ancient, which gave them a certain sense of modesty. What set him truly apart was a grave indifference etched in his features. A rugged calm beset Alkor as he trudged past guard and dignitary alike, woefully disinterested in any imminent plight that might face him.
The wind tossed his chestnut hair as he turned a corner and bowed his head. "I sense..." the words dripped from his lips almost unbidden as images of disjointed conflict shimmered in his mind's eye. Bodies without faces railed toward each other in mortal combat, and the scene bled into oblivion. His gaze hardened on the ground. "They're here," he grunted.
"Ah, well."

He opted to journey down to the city alone, eschewing even a pilot for the outdated shuttle that lurked in the corner of the Destroyer's hangar. The unresponsive controls and sluggish speed made him pine for his old X-1, but fortunately it was a short flight. He'd disembarked from the Hound directly above the city, and even at this snail's-pace it took only minutes to reach the embassy spaceport. The blastshield's magnetic lock disengaged with a clank Miras heard from inside the cockpit before beginning its onerous ride up the track, exposing the hangar's interior. 'Going to look like a nerfherder landing in here,' the Jedi thought with a thin smile.
He remained in the pilot's chair long after he'd finished running through engine shutdown protocols, his eyes glazed and far away. He could still feel it, embedded in his mind like crumbs of glass. Every time he ran his memories of the vision through his head it ground them deeper. Shaking hands gripped the control yoke until the knuckles turned white, and then the Knight let out a sudden breath and stood.
"Now is not the time for indecision," he muttered to himself, pulling his travel-stained cloak tighter around his shoulders. Yet he lingered a moment longer, wondering if he had any hope of standing in the way of a tidal wave, before he abruptly turned and departed. A wave of his hand parted the trio of diplomats and their armed escort that turned out to receive him, his will transcending a suggestion and blanketing their thoughts in a fog. They meandered off in separate directions wearing vacant smiles.
The Jedi didn't even break stride on his way through the building and out onto the streets of Theed.
It hit him before he'd made it more than a few blocks from the embassy: a sudden shriek of agony as the force twisted and tore beneath the weight of some terrible violence. The Jedi froze in his tracks, the stub of a smoldering cigarette dangling from his mouth. Whatever blighted touch had caused the disturbance echoed again and again, waves of pain so acute they tore away his breath and left him gasping, gagging. The cigarette dropped to the pavement and went out with a hiss.
When it finally passed Miras stuck another between his lips and fumbled for his lighter. It took him three tries to get it lit. A hand ran back through his shock of dark hair as the Knight frantically tried to sort through what he'd sensed. 'Couldn't have been him, he reasoned, glancing back over his shoulder to where he could feel the bastard's inky black aura, like a stain on an otherwise pristine backdrop. Yet the level of violence it would take to put such strain on the force...
Miras spat in disgust and turned on his heel. No choice.

As she followed him, she could sense a familiar presence or two rippling in from the edge of her awareness. It wasn't much, but it was enough to give her the slightest of pauses. She was used to traveling, used to meeting new people, but never for long. Still, it wouldn't do to lose her quarry for a few moments of rumination. There was no doubt in her mind that he had realized he had a shadow: he was, after all, a seasoned Jedi, and she had learned to never underestimate their skills.
She arrived at the marina in time to watch her prey bargaining with a Gungan. A minute later, he was on board the amphibian's boat, and there was nothing she could do about it. An animal-like growl escaped her throat; she couldn't very well have hitched a ride with the same man. Her green eyes scanned the marina, looking for a boat that would serve her purpose, preferably with its owner nearby. If not, well.. She would have to improvise.
In the meantime, her senses stretched out towards that ripple of familiarity, her curiosity getting the better of her..

After some time, admittedly more time than Andor had liked, the Sith Lord had traversed his way from the Theed Spaceport and through the city, eventually having the speeder pilot drop him off at the boating docks. His brown boots landed with a light thumb on the ground and he turned and tossed some credits to his cab driver. After a word of gratitude from the driver, the speeder shot off in a cloud of dust.*
*Andor looked out before him as he sought out a solution to his problem of needing ocean travel. He scanned the docks, looking for someone or something, but it seemed that Fate was not on his side. The Sith cursed as he stepped forward and onto the wooden pier, beginning to walk down the rows of docks looking for help. In the distance, he could see a departing boat and after blotting out the sun by raising his hand above his eyes, noted two lifeforms: a Gungan and... A Zabrak.*
*Andor's mind raced back to his brief stay at the spaceport cantina, the place where he had accidentally brushed shoulders with a Zabrak who reeked of the scent of the Light. It seemed that this was no coincidence that Andor had unknowingly followed him here.
"Curse it." He thought to himself "Never thought I'd follow in the footsteps of a Jedi." Andor's eyes kept scanning the rows of piers, eyeing all the bobbing sea craft. He noticed an empty spot, where the water was beginning to ripple, bubbles cascading to the surface. Seconds later, a Gungan Bongo submarine broke forth.*
*Andor quickened his pace, planning to intercept the exiting Gungan and to ask (or you know, force) him for a ride. The Sith skidded to a halt as the bubble shield deactivated and, not one, but two Jungians jumped out.
"Hold up for a second!" Andor yelled, throwing up his hand in an indication for them to wait. "Can I ask you two a favor?"
The pair of Gungans looked at Andor before looking at each other. The first one shrugged its shoulders and the second one shook its head before turning to answer. "Wessa sorry, Sir. But wessa needs to getta going to the market, ya see. Lots of trading' to do or else wessa gonna get in big doo-doo."
Andor paused and smiled, his hand already rummaging in his waist pouch, although he was mildly shocked that the Gungans openly traded with the Naboo. "Money, you say? I've got plenty, and probably more than what you'll get at the market in a three day succession." His hand opened to reveal a pile of credits resting in the palm of his hand. The Gungans gasped in unison as they once again looked at each other.*
*Before long, Andor found himself sitting in the backseat of the completely submerged bongo submarine with the two gungans piloting the ship out into open seas. He closed his eyes and extended his awareness, drew on the darkside of the Force and began searching for darkness. If there really was a Sith holocron, maybe the darkness that emanated from it would be strong enough for Andor to detect and track.
