"Haar'chak!" Neassa mutters under her breath when she hears the wailing of sirens in the distance and guesses that the assassin's plan has gone off the rails. When the assassin, allegedly Andros Vyridian, bursts out of the front entrance and into the street Neassa gathers that her guess was correct and lifts her EE-3 carbine to her shoulder to sight in on the dark haired human woman with a blaster in hand that follows maybe-Vyridian out. Relieved when maybe-Vyridian takes off on a swoop bike before the woman who is obviously a member of law enforcement can get a clear shot, Neassa's personal code not permitting her to harm innocent bystanders or white hats even when she herself is not exactly on the side of the angels, Neassa stands and watches the scene below as curious and gawking bystanders, paramedics, the media, and more law enforcement all start converging outside the club.
Her contract being to make sure the assassin makes good their escape from the club, Neassa has technically fulfilled her obligation now that maybe-Vyridian is in the wind, but as she is concealing her carbine beneath the long coat she wears, Neassa sees the dark haired white hat and another human female, this one sporting a mohawk, taking off after maybe-Vyridian on a UPD swoop bike.
"Haar'chak!" Neassa hisses, realizing that her personal code can sometimes be a pain in the shebs since she cannot in good conscience walk away when her contract includes a kill order for maybe-Vyridian should it seem he is going to be taken alive. Running to the speeder she had stolen earlier, keeping her coat open so she can easily bring the carbine hanging from its sling at her side to bear if the need arises, Neassa hops on and takes off after the other two swoops.
Keeping behind the UPD swoop, Neassa watches traffic patterns around them and ahead of them for an opportunity to help maybe-Vyridian give the white hats the slip in a way that does not involve harming the white hats or revealing her involvement with the assassin.

Above the city Streets - Night of Strilath the Hutt's murder
Anila looks over her shoulder as she passes a large garbage speeder on her stolen swoop bike, scowling when she spots the mohawked female human on a UPD swoop bike speeding towards her. Leaning forward and then to the side to take the swoop down to a lower lane of traffic that is more congested than the one she had left, Anila weaves between several vehicles, drops to the next lower lane of traffic, and rounds the corner of a building without slowing at all in an attempt to shake the persistent mohawked human.
Risking another glance over her shoulder after she has rounded the corner of the building, Anila is dismayed to see that the UPD swoop is still steadily closing the distance between them, and that another human is riding behind the small female with the mohawk. Gritting her teeth, Anila maxes out the swoop bike's speed while looking at the traffic ahead, above, and below her for any place to go to try and lose the female law enforcement agents pursuing her. Grinning when she spots a large hovertruck loaded with durasteel girders ahead of her, Anila reaches down for her lightsaber hilt and angles her swoop bike to get alongside the rear of the hovertruck.
When she has reached the rear of the hovertruck, Anila takes a glance back to see where the UPD swoop is so that she can time her next action well, waiting until she believes the mohawked swoop rider will have no time to react before igniting the red bladed lightsaber and swiping at the cables securing the girders in the truck so that several spill out and hurtle towards the swoop bike racing after her . . .

En route to Vinoly Architectural
Franz was often mute, at least he didn't say another thing earlier especially when he had been at Solstice. He still felt bad, and he seriously wanted to fix it after his mishap. Now that Elika's lunch was done with Lana, Franz was silently walking wondering how to approach this matter, this situation he had with Elika. He should really apologize and not the way he did earlier...
Sighing softly and just when he was about to turn towards Elika, she had been the one who came closer to him and even wrapped an arm around his. Inwardly smiling, the internal shock was ephemeral, and yet he still didn't say a thing. Instead though he removed his arm from her hooked one and wrapped it around her shoulders.
"I have no idea what you are talking about, Peka." Franz told her with a warm smile. She told him to maybe pretend that it didn't happen, he was going to play along, after all he had hated that cold front that happened previously between them. "Though that aside, I'll do better, that much I promise. I really don't want to be in your way, and while I understand this situation is ridiculous for you, just like it is for me..." He meant the bodyguard thing, that much he emphasized because this was really the problem. "I am actually pleading, begging that you still allow me to hang around, it'll allow for you know who," Andros, he definitely meant Andros there, especially with what was happening currently. "To be comforted in knowing that nothing will happen to you..."
Franz knew that it wasn't really this thing that has started their little argument earlier, but it was also the spine of the whole situation between them when people looked at it, and hopefully, Elika would understand. "I'll make myself scarce, and won't overstep my bounds while you are working, but I will also promise to you, that you'll always have me as a friend, and it will never change how I view you, as a friend, and as my family too." Smiling faintly and inclining his head, he dropped his arm from around her shoulders and nodded once.

Slicing. Bloodied. Clear. Crosshairs.
Realizing what the assassin intends to do a few seconds before the construction beams are cut loose from the truck, Nuala tells Madieke, "Hang on!" Leaning hard to her left to dodge between two of the beams slicing through the air, Nuala feels Madieke's grip tighten around her waist as their swoop nearly slams into the side of an airspeeder. Braking and leaning hard to her right before immediately speeding up once more, Nuala narrowly prevents a crash with the airspeeder and another beam that had been tumbling towards them.
Wincing as she hears the sickening crunch of the beam striking the airspeeder Nuala had kept them from crashing into, Madieke looks back to see if the driver has been hurt, wishing she had not looked when the crumpled airspeeder with the beam piercing the cracked and bloodied windshield lurches downwards and causes a multiple vehicle crash. Not even wanting to think about the other damage the falling beams will do in addition to the civilians casualties the assassin has already caused by sending them tumbling into the traffic, Madieke angrily decides that taking the assassin alive is no longer the top priority. Thumbing her heavy blaster off of the stun setting, Madieke asks Nuala, "You see him?"
"Down and at our three o'clock," Nuala says as she takes the swoop bike into a dive, leaning to bring them on course to come up behind the assassin so that Madieke has a clear shot.
Grabbing onto Nuala's jacket with her free hand to keep from falling off the swoop, Madieke scans the traffic around them to make sure she won't cause another pile up if the assassin crashes after being shot. Seeing that the chase has taken them into the lowest lane of traffic, and that the number of vehicles has thinned for the moment, Madieke switches her blaster back to the stun setting after hesitating briefly, thinking that this may be a chance to take the assassin alive if she can hit them before they enter more heavily traffic again. Lifting her heavy blaster, Madieke keeps her arm steady and waits for the assassin to enter her crosshairs. When the assassin's evasive maneuvers presents her with what looks to be a clean shot at their back, Madieke pulls the trigger, firing a pair of stun bolts at the fleeing assassin in quick succession.

Above the city Streets - Night of Strilath the Hutt's murder
Hearing the thunderous cacophony of sounds - honking horns, metallic screeching of metal on metal, the almost musical tinkling of breaking glass, the brutal thump and crunch of vehicles colliding - that accompany the crashes behind her after she releases the building girders from the ties binding them to the back of the hovertruck hauling them, Anila grins wickedly, maxing out the speed of her stolen swoop bike without bothering to look behind her to see the damage she leaves in her wake; that those hunting her could have escaped the symphony of crashes she can still hear taking place behind and beneath her does not occur to the Clawdite assassin that has taken the form of one of the Vyridian twins intended to be taken for Andros.
Taking the swoop down and down and down through layer after layer of the city traffic, thinking she will increase the odds of making good on her escape by ditching the swoop bike for another means of transportation and taking the time to shift to another form, Anila has nearly reached the streets when both of the stun bolts fired at her hit their marks. Stunned instantly, Anila pitches off of the swoop, disappearing into the thick mist to tumble to the sidewalk below as the swoop bike lists to the side and crashes into the side of building, exploding and briefly illuminating Anila's still form - which had reverted to her true form when she lost consciousness - laying on the sidewalk with one leg laying at an unnatural angle that can only mean it has broken.

Following behind the UPD swoop, Neassa has more time to react to the release of the girders than most of the drivers in the vicinity of the resultant multi-vehicular accident. Standing to bring her swoop bike into a steep climb, up and over being preferable to down and through since the beams that don't strike vehicles immediately will be heading down, Neassa evens the swoop out once sure she will be out of danger. "Chakaaryc," hisses Neassa through gritted teeth, cursing maybe-Vyridian for so blithely causing so many civilian casualties, which she herself has always taken great pains to avoid in her personal career.
Looking down to see where maybe-Vyridian and the UPD swoop riders have gotten to, Neassa spots them and takes her swoop into a dive while banking to her left to resume tailing the ongoing chase. Watching as one of the riders on the UPD swoop takes aim at maybe-Vyridian, who looks oblivious to the danger he is in, Neassa can read the writing on the wall and begins considering her options for either helping maybe-Vyridian somehow, or making sure he is not taken alive. Remembering the senseless crash maybe-Vyridian had callously caused, Neassa doesn't entertain the idea of trying to distract or disable the UPD swoop's shooter, and instead decides to settle for eliminating him if getting stunned while riding a swoop bike does not do the job for her.
Seeing maybe-Vyridian fall off the swoop, and then sink into the mist that perpetually covers the city, Neassa groans, "Haar'chak," and begins taking her swoop down to the streets below. Hopping off her swoop, Neassa pushes the right side of her long coat aside to grab the handle of the carbine hanging from its sling as she starts advancing cautiously for where she estimates maybe-Vyridian hit the ground, listening and watching for the UPD swoop's riders. Not concerned about the security cameras blanketing the city since the long jacket she wears has a deep hood that will, along with the ever-present mist, conceal her face, Neassa is more concerned about what to do if she cannot avoid attracting the attention of the UPD swoop's riders.
Dropping to a knee when she spots the fallen female Clawdite wearing the clothes maybe-Vyridian had been wearing near the wreckage of the swoop bike the Clawdite had been shot off of, Neassa shoulders her carbine and performs a quick check of the area to look for any sign of the UPD swoop riders, and when she sees none swivels to aim a shot for the Clawdite's head, firing a single bolt once she is certain of her aim. Standing and letting her carbine drop to hang from its sling, Neassa starts out for the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street from the flaming wreckage of the Clawdite's swoop, listening for the sounds of pedestrians nearby so that she can lose herself in the crowds . . .

Circle. Crackling. Chances. Cover. Call.
"Circle around," Madieke tells Nuala, looking over her shoulder as they pass over where the assassin fell from the swoop bike.
"Awwww man, my swoop," moans Nuala as the sound of her swoop bike exploding when it crashes booms out, followed by the crackling of the flames that flicker in the thick mists below when she turns the swoop around to set it down near where the assassin fell to ground.
Holding her blaster in a two handed grip as she and Nuala approach the fallen assassin, Madieke taking no chances that they are only pretending to be out. When she is close enough to see that the assassin is a female Clawdite, Madieke, while waving for Nuala to stay back a bit to cover her, says, "Explains a lot," and then crouches as the sound of a blaster being fired echoes in the mists.
"What the f. . . Nuala exclaims, swiveling to cover their six, the direction from which the single shot came. Over there!" Nuala cries, pointing towards a shadowy shape rounding a corner in the distance, little more than a dark, vaguely human shape moving in the mists.
Already running after the shape, Madieke shouts to Nuala, "Stay with the body, call it in!" Having seen what was left of the Clawdite's head, Madieke has no doubt that it is dead, taking any chance of learning whatever it may have known about the plot against the Vyridians with it to the great beyond. At least they have proof that Andros has been the victim of an elaborate frame-up attempt, Madieke thinks as she tries to close the distance between her and the dark shape, which reminds her of the ghostly figure Atlantis and Mace had been able to conjure as it appeared to be of a similar height and build. Rounding the corner of a building, Madieke skids to a halt as she sees the throng of pedestrians on the sidewalk ahead. Holding her blaster down beside her leg to avoid inciting a panic, Madieke cranes her neck to search for the shadow, watching the crowds for someone with a black hood over their head, anyone looking behind them to see if they have gotten away, and for any other behaviors that could help her spot the shooter.

Knowing that running will only serve to make it easier to pick her out of a crowd, Neassa slows her pace to one that matches the pedestrian traffic that she wades into after following the sounds of what proves to be a crowd being released from a theater performance of some kind. After weighing the pros and cons of keeping her hood up or lowering it, Neassa ultimately decides to keep it up so that, if the surveillance cameras around the city are as prevalent as they are rumored to be, no images of her face will be available. With the famous misty weather on Umgul, Neassa also knows that she will not be the only hooded individual out and about.
Single figures tending to stick out more than a group, Neassa works her way close to a cluster of younger theater-goers, her small stature ensuring that she blends in with them, and sticks close enough to them that she will look like a part of their group. Resisting the natural inclination to look behind her for any sign of the UPD swoop riders, Neassa uses the reflections in the windows she passes to check for any hint that she will need to take additional measures to throw off any pursuit.

Preservation. Pulsing. Question. Conspiracy.
Scowling as she watches the virtual sea of heads bobbing along on the sidewalk, each as shadowy and indistinct as the next in the mist, Madieke hisses a curse as she realizes that the shooter has successfully given her the slip. Holstering her DL-44, Madieke returns to where she left Nuala with the body of the Clawdite, cursing under her breath when she sees that the press has already descended upon the scene. Fortunately for the preservation of the crime scene, the backup Nuala requested has also arrived, and has kept the press at bay.
With the constant flashing of holocams lighting the mists in a steady, pulsing pattern serving as a counterpoint to the reporters excitedly informing their views that the Vyridian twins appear to have been the victims of a conspiracy involving a Clawdite impersonator as well as another unidentified suspect that remains at large, Madieke raises a hand and repeats, "No comment, several times as she makes her way to where Nuala is speaking with a pair of UPD uniformed patrolmen. As the shooter was of a similar height and build to Orlov, Madieke tells Nuala, Comm Sigi, see if . . ."
"Already did, Nuala says, her words coming at a rapid clip, before Madieke can finish the question, taking an orange lollipop from her mouth and bouncing on her feet as the adrenaline from the swoop chase and shooting has yet to start fading from her system. Entin and his bimbo were home all night. No comms in or out. Not her after all. You were thinking it was her, right? Shaking her head, Nuala says, Not her. Unless it was another Clawdite here doing the shooting, or there pretending to be her at home . . ."
Patting Nuala on the shoulder, Madieke says, "Slow down. Maybe sit down too. Not adding that she is pretty sure Nuala is in shock, Madieke says, Nice work, then points to a UPD speeder nearby and suggests, Take five, then check in with the other surveillance teams, see if any of Arezou or Klivian's new security were not with them. Shooter could be one of theirs, sent to make sure the Clawdite wasn't captured alive and interrogated. After Nuala agrees to take a few minutes to get herself together, Madieke comms Nazani and Nemes to fill them in on what has happened and see if they have made any progress with the scene at the club. While Madieke feels a sense of triumph in that the Vyridian twins have all but been cleared with the revelation that a Clawdite has been impersonating one of them, she knows that the investigation is not yet over since they have no idea who is behind the conspiracy.

13th Precinct
Compared to her brother, Xyrias was not the kind to remain mute really and moreso when things were going down south she often had a comeback. That was usually in casual gatherings, not that being in a prison cell was a social gathering, but it fit.
“Relax, jaywalker, capital punishment here has been banned, and if you refer to what has been going on around the city, it wasn’t who you think it is…” Xyrias told him without doubt. She had it in good authority that Andros was not the one who had committed those heinous crimes. It was not because she supposedly was part of the raceways gang that she was on the bad side of the law.
Quite the contrary in fact.
But a cover was still a cover anyways which Valaras reminded her with a meaningful expression as he looked at her.
“Though he is right, we are entitled to a comm, although something tells me that some people are already quite aware that we have been booked, here.” Leaning back against the wall, Valaras closed his eyes for a moment knowing that people in strategic places always worked efficiently, though considering with the ongoing, he was certain that it wasn’t that particular someone who would be springing he and his sister out, maybe someone else…
“I am not holding my breath, Valaras, they are all busy.”
“Always so pessimistic, but fair enough, I guess we’ll only have to wait…”
Rolling her eyes, and shaking her head, it really wasn’t something that bothered her anyways, after all she was first and foremost a solider too, and she knew how to follow orders, but she still kept her ongoing cover, the hot headed sister that had a tendency to just speak her mind.

Strilath's Club
"Aninh, UPD Detective Nazani explains, the curvy, dark haired Lorrdian holding her comlink up as she explains who she has been speaking to to her partner, a gangly Rodian who is watching as eight UPD uniformed patrolmen and four coroner's assistants struggle to get Strilath the Hutt's corpse onto a hoversled so that it can be taken to the morgue. She got the killer, Nazani adds with a triumphant grin, turned out it was a Clawdite, so the Vyridians are off the hook once we go public with that. The lightsaber the Clawdite used matches the description of the one used to kill Sike and Monite, so those are in the solved pile."
"Sweet! UPD Detective Conal Nemes says, his tapir-like snout curling up in a grin, Was Aninh able to get anything out of . . ."
Shaking her head with a frown, anticipating her partner's question, Nazani explains, "The Clawdite's toast, miming aiming and then shooting a rifle, the Lorddian says, Sniper, head shot. Anticipating the logical question that scenario will raise, she shakes her head while answering it, The sniper got away. Hooded figure in dark nondescript clothing, of course, so not much to go on there. We'll have to wait and see what else the Clawdite had on her, or what the evidence nerds can find from her clothing and so on. Hopefully something that can point us towards who hired the Clawdite to impersonate Vyridian."
UPD Evidence tech Vinter, a blonde haired Shownarri, holds up an evidence bag containing several vials of blood, explaining, "These are from the assassin's slug thrower wound, collected from the floor up here, the balcony railing, main floor, and street outside. Cameras in the club and outside will confirm the assassin bled in those areas, so once analysis proves the blood is from the Clawdite, there will be no way to deny that the Vyridian twins are innocent of Strilath's murder."
UPD Evidence Technician Cacracci, a dark haired Morganian, walks up beside her partner and says, "I was able to get a few clothing fibers from the area around where Strilath was killed that we can compare to those from the Sike and Monite scenes, to see if either match. If so, that will clear the twins for those two killings as well."
Nazani nods, telling the techs, "Make sure Claus gets the footage from the attack so that he can determine whether the lightsaber used to kill Striltah matches the other murder scenes. Once the Vyridians are cleared beyond the shadow of a doubt, we can focus on finding whoever hired the Clawdite. Grinning as she thinks of the press coverage sure to come once the UPD brass make a statement about the fact that a Clawdite was responsible for the recent killings attributed to the Vice Governor, Nazani says, Whoever was behind this is gonna be feeling a noose tightening around their neck soon, that's for sure."
Previous Day - Vinoly Architectural Firm
Grateful that Franz, as evidenced by his amusingly asking her what she had been talking about by way of signaling his agreement to her proposal that they act as though the awkwardness from earlier in the day had never happened, is as ready as she to move on and go back to the way things were despite the strain that his having been assigned to act as her bodyguard even though she does not feel she needs one and has found being made to have one increasingly frustrating, Elikapeka rests her head on his shoulder as they enter the offices of the architectural firm she is employed at, telling him, "I promise to keep the same promise, and then grins as she crinkles her nose and says, And you don't have to be scarce unless you want to be scarce, Old Woman. I enjoy your company, she says with a nod of her head, so there is no need to avoid one another just because I'm at work. Patting Franz on the shoulder as they reach her office, Elika says, Speaking of, I had better get back to it, hadn't I?"
Gesturing towards a couch across from the large drafting table that dominates her office, Elika says, "Make yourself comfortable. Frowning as she glances around her office and worries that Franz will be bored if he is relying on her to have anything entertaining laying around, Elika says, Hmmm, I don't have much to do in here, do I? Shrugging apologetically, she says, Sorry, I guess if you get too bored you could take a nap, or get some magazines from the waiting room? I showed you where the break room was if you want any caf, right? Sitting down in front of her drafting table and reaching up to put her long red hair in a ponytail in a rare unselfconscious moment that testifies to how comfortable she is in Franz's company, Elika says, Just let me know if you need anything, okay?"
Moments later, absorbed in her preliminary design work for an upcoming project after having spent a few moments daydreaming about Delaana, Elika gets to work, beginning to sketch, slowly and with many pauses at first, but more and more swiftly and surely as time goes on.

Nic Claus, Umgul City's coroner and a valued UPD evidence analysis consultant, knows that he has a long night ahead of him when a UPD evidence technician drops off a large box of evidence collected from the scene of the murder of the massive Hutt that he has been called in at so late an hour to perform an autopsy on, as well as the autopsy of the Clawdite female responsible for the Hutt's death. "Best start brewing a pot of stimcaf Shinny, Nic tells one of his assistants, who are twin near-human Bimms, in a jolly voice. Wunorse, he says while pulling a lab coat on and buttoning it over his ample belly after tying his long white hair, which matches his busy white beard, back in a ponytail, can you start laying out my tools? I believe we'll begin with the autopsy of the Hutt."
After they have completed the autopsy of Strilath the Hutt, which adds little to the overall investigation given that the Clawdite was not only captured on several security cameras and personal recording devices patrons of the Hutt's club though to whip out during the assassination, but was also witnessed by UPD detectives and Sector Rangers who happened to be on the scene to question Strilath. More vital to the investigation is proving that the assassin, disguised during the fatal attack on the Hutt as none other than Umgul's Vice Governor Andros Vyridian, was in fact the Clawdite female killed by an unknown party after nearly being apprehended alive by Sector Ranger SEO Madieke Aninh in the course of a daring swoop bike chase throughout Umgul City. Tasking Wunorse and Shinny with completing the analysis of the blood recovered from the crime scene, believed to be from the Clawdite after she had been wounded by a shot from a slugthrower, Nic goes to work on using security camera footage to compare the lightsaber used in Strilath's murder with that used during the assassination of Varik Monite, which had also been captured on film.
Beginning to assemble his report for the UPD Detectives and Sector Rangers investigating the recent string of killings that were falsely attributed to Andros Vyridian in the early days of the investigation, Nic is meticulous in his documentation as he confirms that the lightsaber used to kill Strilath was not only one and the same with that used to kill Monite, but also with that used to kill Sike. Security camera footage proves beyond any doubt that the lightsaber was used in the Monite and Strilath murders, Nic finding several stills from the footage that show unique scrapes or dents in the hilt to establish that fact. Having only the impression cast of the lightsaber's knuckle guard from Sike's wound to use in comparison with the images of the lightsaber, Nic nonetheless is able to make a strong case that the weapon used to kill Sike is one and the same with the lightsaber involved in the other two crimes, suggesting the killer in all three instances was the Clawdite female.
The theory that the Clawdite was the killer in all three instances, however, is challenged by some of Nic's other findings. An analysis of the device worn on the female Clawdite's arm shows that it was assembled using repulsor technology from a load lifter droid, and appears to have been worn to simulate a Force Push ability. Given that witness testimony from the Sike murder established the killer used the Force Speed ability in the perpetration of the murders at that scene, which was substantiated by the investigation of Mace Vos and Atlantis Vyridian when their unique abilities enabled them to, after a fashion, view a record, of sorts, of the killings which took place in the mists around Sike's home, it seems unlikely that the killer in both crimes was the same. Nic's report includes his determination that the Clawdite was involved in Strilath and Monite's murders, but that a different perpetrator, who was undoubtedly a Force sensitive individual unlike the Clawdite who was not, was responsible for Sike's assassination. As the same weapon was used in all three crimes, however, Nic's report concludes that the two killers were very likely to have been involved in a conspiracy to implicate Andros Vyridian, and possibly by extension the Mist Government itself, in the crimes.
As Nic moves on to the analysis of the clothing fibers recovered from the Strilath and Monite crime scenes, he watches the UNN coverage of Ja'an Blitzer, reporting live from from Strilath's Club after the UPD statement about the crime has wrapped up, summing things up in easily understood terms for the holonet viewing public. "With the shocking revelation that the assassin in the murder of Strilath the Hutt was a Clawdite using her abilities to shapeshift in order to implicate Umgul's Vice Governor in the murder of alleged crime lord Strilath the Hutt, Blitzer states, the innocence of the Vyridian twins in this and other recent crimes attributed initially to them now seems almost absolutely certain. UPD officials state that evidence collected from the Sike and Monite scenes will be used to determine if the Clawdite assassin killed tonight after fleeing the scene of this heinous crime was responsible for those murders as well. As it has been tentaively concluded that the same weapon was used in all three crimes, that scenario seems to be highly likely. Stay tuned for further developments as they come in." Blitzer, given that Nic's report is not yet complete, can only use the tentative conclusions offered by the UPD, based on the observations of the Sector Rangers and UPD detectives leading the investigation, to support the position that the Vyridian twins are innocent, but based on the most recent polls following the breaking news, public opinion is very quickly seen to turn towards a belief that the Vyridian twins are the innocent victims of an attempt to frame them for all of the crimes they had been accused of.
The clothing fibers, Nic's report concludes, from the Monite and Strilath crime scenes are a positive match, adding additional proof that the Clawdite, wearing the garment the fibers were recovered from when killed by an unknown party, was the perpetrator of both assassinations. The fibers do not, however, match those recovered from the Sike scene.
Nic's autopsy of the Clawdite female is of little investigative value, though he imagines that the datapad and other equipment found on her body, will be quite interesting once analyzed. Not a slicer himself, Nic will need to wait until someone with that skill has analyzed the datapad to learn if anything on it can be used to track down others involved in what has been proven to be a conspiracy against the Vyridian twins, a conspiracy that may have also been aimed at discrediting the Mist Government itself for some malicious purpose as yet to be revealed.

Puddle. Backfired. In the clear.
Slowly exhaling a cloud of bluish smoke as she flicks the butt of her cigarette into a puddle near the rear door of the precinct, Madieke turns towards the door as it opens and greets Nuala by asking, "Anything interesting from Claus or the evidence geeks?"
Used to Madieke's tendency to avoid any unnecessary verbalization when working a case, Nuala responds in kind, "Claus has the Clawdite locked for the Monite murder, but thinks Sike's killer was someone else entirely. Clawdite wasn't Force sensitive, Sike's killer was. Geeks found a few holonet messages and data files on the datapad the Clawdite had on her, all to burners just like her datapad, but if we can find the burners, it will implicate whoever has them in the killings."
"How so?"
"One holonet message, time stamped from tonight just before the attack on Strilath went down, was to someone letting them know the assassination attempt on the Hutt was about to happen, and there were some files that look like they came from someone casing the club prior to the attack. Locations of cameras, numbers of bodyguards, usual schedule for Strilath, that kind of thing. So, we know the Clawdite wasn't working alone. "
"Anything we can link to any of our suspects?"
"Not without the burners the messages were sent to. Still, we put the burner or burners in someone's hands, we have them solid for conspiracy to commit. Think we should try and get a warrant to search Entin's residence?"
"Not yet. Already made one play for him and Orlov that backfired, so I don't want to move until we have something solid."
"Alright, Nuala says as she unwraps a pink lollipop, so what's the plan?"
Madieke reaches up to massage the back of her neck as she says with a sigh, "Damned if I know just yet. Looking at her wrist chrono, she says, Roma and Sayen should be here soon with the rest of the team, we'll see what they all have, go from there."
Nodding, Nuala says, "Cool, then asks, You hear any of the holonews reports? When Madieke shakes her head, Nuala explains, Twins are pretty much in the clear after last night, so at least there's that."
"One in the win column, yep, Madieke says with a brief smile, then nods towards the door as she says, I'm gonna get some caf before everyone gets here," and then heads into the precinct to wait for the rest of the investigative team to arrive.

Bane laughed as Liv nudged him, acting like he was the main instigator in every situation. Certainly he had his fair share of blame in a number of situations, but he could recount more than a half dozen where Liv was at fault. Not that it was some sort spot. There was a certain fondness he looked upon each encounter with. Whether it was the nudist colony, or the time they had almost been caught in the act by the superintendent back at the academy, or even the time they had almost been roasted alive by those cannibals "Sweet little 'ol you? Well, now I know you're definitely starting a career in comedy... I'm sorry, but whose idea was it that lead to us base jumping out of that office window on Coruscant? And thought it'd be nice to make out whilst we did it?" He chuckled then briefly "Well, it'll definitely be easier to get us out of this, than some of our past escapades, that is for sure... And if it comes to it, I'm sure you can just blame me for this to save your job. So don't go updating your resumé too fast..." Bane then turned his attention to the jaywalker, as the man was ranting and raving about wanting his comm. If he had been asked to make an assessment of the man, Bane would have been hard pressed to say anything other than that the man seemed a little unhinged. Though, prison wasn't exactly a place a lot of people acted rashly in. He turned back to Liv then, remembering that one of them was going to have to call Ice about this mess "So... do you want to call her? or shall I? I feel like this might sound a lot better coming from you..."

"Elika?" Franz smiled and looked at her with a friendly gaze and then shook his head pointing at himself. "Don't worry about me, just do what you would usually do here at work, and you certainly do not need to entertain me, at all. I'll occupy myself, promise." He reassured her sincerely before taking a step back from her. He wasn't going to even ask her for anything, he didn't need to. As a matter of fact, even if they were friends, she shouldn't bother on his account right here, right now. She was on company hours, and thus had to provide a work that she was hired for. He was the distraction here, but still the two of them seemed to have found a middle ground for now which pleased him at least.
With how the day had begun this morning between Crystal and Ljiljana, which was resolved relatively quickly, Franz wasn't actually surprised about that. He knew that they had a stronger bond, and an argument wouldn't break them. With that in mind, Franz walked to a corner of Elika's office and sat down on the ground cross-legged, closing his eyes in the process. He had decided to meditate after he had seen Elika busying herself with her work and even be comfortable. It actually made him smile, and made him feel appeased as he just began to start sensing everything around him, expanding his awareness to the living Force, focusing on the positive. That had lasted for a little while until he opened his eyes and blinked a few times.
He had no idea how much time had passed, and yet Elika still seemed engrossed in her work, grinning once more, he stood up from his position and slowly but also quietly exited her office only to return moments later putting a cup of coffee freshly brewed in front of her silently, and even a bottle of water before he uncapped his own and took a sip of it. "I figured you needed a little beverage break." He gestured to the water and coffee, not knowing which one she had preferred, therefore he figured he would take both. Looking at her work thus far, Franz smiled looking at the detailed plans. "That looks good." He told her sincerely, though he figured he should stop interrupting her and he took a step back to sit on the couch still remembering some of the warnings he had had about that couple too. Franz had preferred to not tell any one yet, for he still wanted to assess the situation truth be told...

Listening to the jaywalker rant and rave about getting his one allotted commlink, Liv shook her head in amusement before looking away from him and focusing on Bane once more. Giving him an amused side glance, she smiled at his recounting of just one of their many past antics. "Yes, sweet litle ol' me....and I didn't hear you complaining about that when it happened." Liv teased, with a wink, before a serious look came into her eyes again.
With a small sigh, she nodded in agreement to his suggestion that it might be better if she were the one to call Ice. Closing her eyes briefly, then opening them again, she rested her head back against the wall and stared up at the ceiling hoping they'd get their allowed commlink, sooner rather than later. She wasn't really worried about getting demoted, or fired, but she really wasn't looking forward to contacting Ice either.

13th Precinct — Next dayClad in her typical military uniform, Horsea Aestrea, the current Deputy Director of Intelligence, wasn’t the average soldier like most would expect. Sure, it was a well-known fact that she was a Kiffar, but that was just it, to most she was just a Kiffu Guardian, with ties to the current political advisor, Mace Jhiera Vos, but unbeknown to the public eye, she was the eyes and ears for the government when it came to security. It was with determination that she had entered the precinct, and it was with a mission she was making her way to the arresting officers, unsurprisingly to her, she noticed a familiar face right then and there. . . Ayla Vos. “Councilor Vos,” Horsea acknowledged respectfully, while usually they addressed one another the familiar, this wasn’t the place nor the time, as Ayla was in her traditional Jedi robes, and she also seemed to be here on official business. As it stood, those that were apprehended by the police were under strict orders to equip the prisoners with Force suppressing bracelets until a Jedi from the Mist Order assessed the situation of the detainees. “Director Aestrea,” Replied Ayla in return before inclining her head and smiling faint but also briefly that it was potentially hardly noticeable to the common eyes. This must be much more important if you have come all the way here. . .Inclining her head subtly and looking at the arresting officers, Horsea spoke diplomatically. “I am here to see the people you have arrested at the raceways yesterday. And I am also here to ask you that you free them immediately. Two of them are tied to the representative of Honoghr, Princess Isis Amarina Matango, who is currently planetside, and are her bodyguards. As for the two others, who are under my assignment,” Horsea handed the officer the security cam feed of that zone, “Perfectly innocent, they were trying to prevent any more troubles, well at least until that other person you have detained also hit the Zabrak that is currently in ICU.”Staying her tongue again, Horsea took a deep breath and glanced sideways catching Ayla’s gaze. Knowing where the Vos’ cousins specialty laid, Horsea opened her mind enough for Ayla to hear her thoughts. . . There are two Epicanthix right there, and they are under Andros’ order to infiltrate the raceways gangs.Ayla heard it all loud and clear and looked at the officer once more smiling briefly again, “I’ll handle the rest from here, thank you, inspector.” Said Ayla warmly before making her way with Horsea towards the cells and stopping right in front of where those from the raceways had been placed, opening the cell with the datacard that was handed to her from the officer, Ayla looked at them all, and then stepped aside knowing that the one she regarded as one of her sisters too had more pressing business to attend to also. “Olivia Styles, and Bane, you two please follow me. Same for you two, Xyrias, and Valaras Non.” Said Horsea with an even tone before glancing at Ayla and then back at the other one who was there, “Orion Hunter, you got yourself into a very complicated situation. . . You'll be glad to know that you won’t be charged with involuntary manslaughter, just yet, that is if the Zabrak gets out of the ICU. Though for now you’ll be in the Mist Order’s custody until the Attorney General decides what to do with you.”“You four already better follow her, one of the people you answer to particular does not like to wait. . .” Said Ayla knowingly and more to the siblings than the two from Honoghr. “As for you, Mr. Hunter, you are with me, I am Ayla Vos, one of the councilors of the Mist Order.” Ayla not only introduced herself, but she also stated her purpose here, at least more than Horsea did for now, but she clearly understood why for the time being the formalities from her part weren’t present. All Horsea wanted was to get those she came for to get out of here and inconspicuously, for after all the Non siblings were still undercover until told otherwise. Inclining her head to her comrade in arms first and foremost, Horsea looked at the four she was tasked to get and to bring back to the government building, “We’ll be picking your gears on the way out, but we are going out the back. . .”With that said and done, Horsea led the way to where she had parked her airspeeder while Ayla did the same with Orion, who would be brought back to the Academy. . .

Spaceport - Blind Justice docking bay
This apparently should be it ...
So yes, here I am about to greet the three women, I always refer to them as the three sexy bees ... But that must be too much explicit to ... Let's not go there. Clearing my throat and looking at the ship that has just landed while obviously someone else is standing next to me. In lieu of Baby Girl, the Hapan Bombshell has been sent to playing welcoming committee too, but apparently she has her own reasons.
Which I have no clue about, though I never did ask.
"You know how I am on a regular basis outside of work, well though don't surprised if you'll be seeing more of that in a few moments. I end up telling Lana, that won't be shocking nope, nothing seems to shock her anyways ... Although add to that also that I will be doing something that those three deserves because reasons."
One can ask about those reasons, I have plenty of reasons, if you are doubting me, and besides I also have four years to catch up on with everyone ... Wearing a corporate pants, and jacket with a shirt, I glance at my datapad to read a few messages but also sending some in the process when it is necessary. Any time now, if someone is being a chicken shit, I am so going to march up that ramp and drag her out by her scalp ...

13th Precinct
Bane laughed in response to Olivia's retort, before turning his attention to the cell entrance as the two women appeared. Despite how fast things were moving, Bane was able to understand enough that apparently they wouldn't need to use their call. He placed his helmet back on as he stood up. Apparently word travelled fast and caused people to act equally as fast. He made his way across the cell, before stopping by the door. He turned then to face the man known as Orion Hunter. He felt almost bad for the man who was very possibly be persecuted for a rather accidental crime committed upon a man who he was fairly certain had done far worse to others. He inclined his head then in farewell Good luck... and if you need a witness at your trial, don't be afraid to call. I owe you that much at least... With his offer made, Bane exited the cell and followed Horsea as she lead the way out the back of the building. It seemed that they had most certainly gotten themselves entangled in something far more complicated than face value, given that the two siblings arrested with them at the raceways were coming along as well. He supposed more would be revealed once they got taken before Ice and who ever the siblings were working for

23rd Precinct - Morning after Strilath the Hutt's murder
UPD Detectives Nemes, a scrawny male Rodian dressed in a rumpled suit carrying a trenchcoat folded over his right arm, and Pakchoian, a curvaceous olive skinned Lorrdian woman wearing a dark, neatly pressed suit, arrive not long after Madieke has brewed a pot of stimcaf. Nemes makes his way as though on autopilot for the stimcaf pot after grunting something to his partner that is answered with a nod accompanied by an expression suggesting the grunt was a question of some kind to which the answer should have been blatantly obvious after how long the two have worked together.
Making her way to the board tracking the investigation's progress to check that all of the new information they had learned in the wake of the previous evening's murder has been added to it, Nazani greets Madieke and Nuala with a, "S'up? Still waiting on the Jedi, huh? Thought they'd be more punctual. Anyone get in touch with the Vee gee yet? Give him the good news?"
Sitting on the edge of the table in the center of the room, Nemes stirs some cream into his caf as he muses absently, "Think he'll thank us in person? Give us medals? Keys to the City? Oh, or a nice framed plaque maybe?"
Chuckling as she remembers how intimidating her partner finds the Vice Governor, Nazani moves a flimsi from one spot on the board to another that makes more sense for it to be in her mind, asking, "You really want him here in person?"
Pursing his tapir-like snout as he ponders the question, Nemes shakes his head after a moment, "Nope. On second thought, I'm totally cool with, I dunno, a nice impersonal statement to the press about our awesomeness from his P.R. people."
Vinoly Archictectural - Previous Day, three hours prior to Strilath the Hutt's Murder
As oblivious to the passage of time and world around her as she often is when absorbed in her work, Elikapeka is visibly startled when Franz sets a choice of beverages before her, though she recovers quickly when reoriented to time, place and situation by her friend.
"Thank you, Elika says, predictably reaching for the caf rather than the bottled water. Can I keep you? she jokes with a grateful smile after taking a sip of the caf and closing her eyes with a contented sigh revealing how appreciated and needed the break has proved to be. Never quite content with her own work, Elika crinkles her nose with a noncommittal shrug of her shoulders after glancing at her progress on the preliminary sketches of the island home she has been contracted to design, It's a start anyway. It still needs some work. Glancing away from her work before she given in to the impulse to make two or three edits or additions that have sprung to mind as she looked at it after Franz's comment, Elika arches an eyebrow as she sees the time on the wall chrono, and asks Franz rhetorically, You really are patient, aren't you? I had no idea it was getting this late. Beginning to pack up after a few gulps of her caf, Elika apologizes, I'm really sorry, I just kind of lost track of the time. Stopping briefly to check her datapad to see if she has any messages from her roommates about what the plans for the evening, which had been left somewhat up in the air in the morning, are, Elika quickly packs up her work to continue in her home studio if the opportunity presents itself, and then after an equally rushed tidying of her office, slings her backpack purse over one shoulder and her portfolio over the other as she asks Franz, Ready to go home? Well, my home . . . or rather Crystal, Lily, and my . . . or should it be mine? Ours, she settles on with an embarrassed smile as she tugs at her sleeves, heading for the door as she adds, You know what I mean, right?"
Feeling guilty about having been so absorbed in her work that she left Franz to entertain himself, and despite the fact that she knows that she should not worry given that her friend has been tasked with acting as her bodyguard and therefore is not likely to be offended by not being entertained while he is on the job of watching over her while she does her job, Elika, oblivious to the fact she has yet to pause and afford Franz an opportunity to respond to anything she has said as of yet, continues to chatter away nervously, babbling somewhat randomly in a cheerful enough tone as they make their way outside and set out for the lakehouse.
