The Enchanted Florist
Erlingur's response is so blithe and convincingly innocently oblivious of the accusation I had though implicit in my questions that I almost feel as though my suspicions are certain to ultimately prove unfounded. Nothing in Erlingur's demeanor suggests that he is lying, though without Ashla's gift of being able to discern anything of his thoughts or emotions, that alone is hardly conclusive.
Though I feel it may be reaching, I decide to press Erlingur further, asking, "I do not suppose that you would object to our having a look around all the same? Specifically, I would like to examine any databases or dataterminals you have on the premises used to store electronic or physical records of your financial transactions and communication with clients."

The Enchanted Florist
Erlingur, rather than looking alarmed by the prospect of the Jedi examining any dataterminals or servers on the premises, appears mildly confused by the suggestion as he nods with a a shrug and, by all appearances no concerned in the least with what such a search might reveal, says with his signature smile, "I have no objections whatsoever, Master Jedi. Please, follow me this way, and I will show you to where our store's server is located, and then to all of the the dataterminals we have here in the store and those above in our apartments." Gesturing for the Twi'lek and her Sullustan companion to join him, Erlingur begins by leading them towards the small office located behind the main service desk and register.
Erlingur's reason for showing the Jedi first to the server located on the ground floor is two fold: firstly, it will allow him to introduce them to the only other humanoid believed to be on the premises at the moment, his twin sister Svana, so that they will observe she is on the lower floor; and secondly, it will allow the true owner of The Enchanted Florist - the feline most believe to be a dire-cat not a dire-cat at all, but a female Felacatian - to conceal the only dataterminal used for the off-books business the floral shop provides cover for in a hidden compartment in the full, seemingly cluttered walk-in closet of one of the bedrooms in the apartments above the shop.

The Enchanted Florist
If for no other reason than to try and ruffle the thusfar unflappable florist, I smile as I suggest a counter proposal to his preferred order of examining the dataterminals and other records storage equipment, "Why don't we start in the apartments instead?" The apartments might, I suppose, afford some insight into Erlingur and his twin, or give an indication if they are living above their means; given what Pakwa and I have observed so far, the possibility seems remote, but it might be illuminating in an unforeseen way even if Erlingur does not appear to be ruffled by the alteration in his plan.
To emphasize that my request was less a request than a firm choice as to how we will proceed, I motion towards the stairs as I say with a smile, "After you."

Subsequently. Breakthroughs. Evidence.
Weird, Madieke thinks to herself when, after tailing Orlov to the starport, she subsequently sees that the Zeltron had come to meet with Hekekia and Delgrave, dashing the brief hope she had entertained that tailing Orlov would prove to be the key to solving the investigation that has monopolized her time for what feels like quite a long time now. Removing a cigarette from the packet sitting on the dashboard of her speeder, Madieke taps it on the steering yoke while debating whether there is any reason to stick around waiting for Orlov to return. Ultimately deciding that there are more productive ways to spend her time, Madieke makes a mental note to reach out to Delgrave at some point to find out what brought him together with Orlov.
Taking her speeder up and turning to head back towards the precinct, Madieke considers how she should spend the rest of the day. Nemes and Nazani, who are currently following up on the evidence related to the Clawdite that impersonated Umgul's Vice Governor, and the fact that have not reported anything yet seems to indicate that they have not made any breakthroughs so far. Thinking about the Clawdite reminds Madieke of her conversation with Nuala earlier in day about the datapad that had been found on the assassin, and she decides to have a look at the data that had been recovered from the device. Nuala had been pretty sure that there were no leads to be found on the datapad, and while Madieke trusts the Kuati's judgement, she also prefers to come to her own conclusions.
Pausing after reaching the precinct long enough to have a cigarette, Madieke crushes it out under her heel when she finishes, and then makes her way inside to check the datapad out of evidence so she can see for herself whether there are any leads to found on the device.

Once aboard the Conlaed, the Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 owned by Lyov, Helaine leads Elikapeka and Franz to the observational deck's interior compartment so that they can conduct their business on the conform-couches with a view of the jet-stream meditation pool. "So adorbs, Helaine leans towards Elikapeka and, wrapping an arm in the architect's with an excess of familiarity that is in keeping with the social personae she employs, whispers loudly enough for Franz to overhead after he, who had accurately predicted he would encounter difficulty calling her by her first name, manages with only minor hesitation to succeed in doing so. To Franz, Helaine says while patting his forearm, It is oh so very kind of you to worry so about Lyov, truly it is. Frowning as though speaking of him has heightened her worry, Helaine sighs and says in a worried yet hopeful tone suggesting she is trying to reassure herself, He will be fine, I'm ever so very sure of it. Smiling in a way chosen to seem as though she is gamely trying to put a brave face on, Helaine says, Sometimes he just needs a bit of time along to get over the dark moods that overcome him when business things don't go well. A pot of caf please," Helaine instructs the protocol droid that had followed them once they boarded the Conlaed.
As the 3P0-series droid shuffles off to see that the cook droid has a pot of caf brewed post haste, Helaine waves towards the conform-couches and tells Franz and Elikapeka, "Do please sit and make yourselves comfortable. Setting an informal tone while leading by example, Helaine plops down in the center of a conform-couch near a table large enough to allow the architect to display her preliminary designs. Patting the cushions to either side of her, Helaine says in her childishly breathy voice, Come now, make yourselves comfortable. Smiling as she addresses Elikapeka, Helaine says, Now then, I should ever so very much like to see what you've come up with so far, Elikapeka. I'm just absolutely bubbling over with excitement to have you working on our little island getaway."
As Ranger Aninh examines the datapad found on the body of the Clawdite, it may occur to her to check the device's frequent locations feature logs, which tracks such things as times, dates and even time spent at locations the datapad is carried to. The logs are buried in a veritable maze of privacy settings, but the Sector Ranger's time spent as a private investigator will almost surely enable her to navigate through to the data which, if found and reviewed, will be of great interest to her.
Foremost in interest to the Ranger among the data contained in the datapad's frequent locations will be the fact that the assassin had been in The Enchanted Florist shortly after arriving on Umgul, that arrival most probably having been, referencing the datapad's locations against the layout of the starport itself, aboard a public transport arriving at Umgul City's starport. That the assassin arrived and went directly to the floral shop should make that fact all the more interesting to Ranger Aninh.
Of less obvious interest, but certain to make a growing list of circumstances more damning, the Clawdite had been in Nebulosity on the same date and at the same time the surveillance detail covering Lyov and Helaine would have witnessed the Zeltron going to that very restaurant. While far from definitively establishing that the assassin had met with Helaine Orlov, or from tying her to the owners of The Enchanted Florist, the fact that there is now a circumstantial link between all three should pique the Sector Ranger's interest.

Tangible. Dead on. Tracks. Smoking gun. Obscures. Dead end. Hands on.
Madieke's first instinct when she realizes that there is tangible evidence of a link between Orlov, Khori, and the owners of the Enchanted Florist is to rally everyone and descend upon Entin and Orlov's home like the wrath of the gods, but if there is one thing that she has learned over the course of her career it is that rushing headlong into things without thinking them through is seldom a good way to go.
Taking a mental step back, Madieke heads to the roof of the precinct to have a cigarette while she gives everything a bit more thought. She has established a tentative connection can be made tying Orlov to Khori, and another between Khori and the Enchanted Florist. Nothing definitive, nothing any decent defense attorney could not tear to shreds without breaking a sweat, but when added to all of the other odd coincidences that have come to light throughout the investigation, good enough for her. Vos and the Grandmaster of the Mist Order's instincts appear to have been dead on all along, both having suspected Orlov from the very beginning of the investigation. Entin's involvement, or lack thereof, is still uncertain, however. Whether the Epicanthix is either the one pulling Orlov's strings, a clueless dupe blind to what the woman he lives with is up to, or possibly even a victim of some form of manipulation, is anyone's guess.
Remembering that Delgrave and Hekekia are with Orlov now, Madieke almost comms Delgrave to warn him of the possible danger he and the architect are in, but reconsiders when the possibility that Orlov might sense any emotional reaction Delgrave has. Delgrave might be able to mask his thoughts, and Orlov might not be paying enough attention to read any he could not, but in the end Madieke doesn't think it is worth the risk. Neither Delgrave nor Hekekia match Orlov's victim profile, and Madieke cannot think of a single reason the Zeltron would go after either, especially when she has not gone to any lengths to cover her tracks where meeting with them is concerned. Whatever it is that the three of them are meeting about is, in Madeieke's estimation, probably innocent and not connected to the investigation at all.
What she needs, Madieke thinks as she taps the ash from the tip of her cigarette onto the ground beside her as she walks to the low wall around the top of the building, is a smoking gun, something that definitively establishes Orlov's involvement. Or a lightsaber, Madieke corrects herself, since that is the weapon involved in all of the murders. They have the lightsaber found on Khori's body, and know it is the same one used in Sike's killing, which Madieke firmly believes was perpetrated by Orlov. The coroner found no prints on the lightsaber hilt, naturally, so Madieke tries to think of another way to tie the lightsaber to Orlov, one that would stand up in court.
Looking out at the city, which is blanketed in a veritable sea of grey mist that obscures the buildings and hides the streets below entirely, Madieke suddenly smiles as inspiration strikes. Orlov initially became of interest to the investigation when Entin's fencing career made him a potential suspect, a lead that seemed, at the time to be a dead end. Maybe, Madieke thinks with a bit of excitement beginning to build in her stomach as it always does when a cold trail suddenly heats up, that particular lead is not as dead as it seemed after all. Entin's fencing career, Madieke thinks as she flicks her cigarette butt into a puddle near the door leading back into the building while walking towards it, probably includes holonet footage or photo still of his more famous bouts, and if he ever used the lightsaber involved with the murders, that will tie the weapon to him and, by extension, to Orlov. Another possibility is that Umgul's rigorous screening of any new residents may have included a record, written or if she is very, very lucky, photographic, of any weapons, like lightsaber hilts, in the couple's possession.
Once back in the room set aside for use by the investigation, Madieke comms Nuala to see if she can get her hands on any documentation from Entin and Orlov's residency application, especially anything relating to the customs inspection that would have taken place when they arrived. After Nuala is on task, Madieke pours herself a cup of caf and starts researching the holonet for any footage or photos from Entin's fencing career, looking for any that include the hilt recovered on Khori's body.

The Enchanted Florist
Erlingur pauses slightly after Master Roma indicates she prefers to start with the apartments, but only briefly, and smiles just as openly and cheerily as he has thus far as he leads the two Jedi upstairs to tour the apartments over the store. The large feline is lounging in the center of the living area of the apartments when they arrive, tail swishing at it seems to watch Erlingur and the Jedi as he shows them around with a bored expression.
The apartments, consisting of two bedrooms, an office, and a bathroom, are comfortable, but by no means so luxurious as to suggest that Erlingur and his sister live above their means. One bedroom is more functional and plain than the other, which has a more feminine touch to its more decorated appearance, suggesting that the latter most likely belongs to Erlingur's sister even though it does not. The office is unremarkable, and contains the only dataterminal that appears to be in the apartments. Erlingur offers to permit the Jedi to examine the dataterminal, and even to access it and download whatever they like; all that will be found on it, should the Jedi take him up on the offer, are business records from the floral shop's legitimate business affairs, along with personal financial records for the siblings, equally legitimate, with the sole interesting fact being that the siblings regularly deposit funds into a trust and other investment accounts that are associated with the trust. Closer examination of the trust would take time, but ultimately reveal that a third party has access to all accounts related to the trust, that individual's identity, however, would be quite difficult, though not impossible, to ascertain as it is concealed by various means.
Once the apartments have been toured, and assuming the Jedi have no questions, Erlingur leads them to the other dataterminals and server on the premises, all of which contain only records pertaining to the floral shop's legitimate business dealings, shipping manifests, purchase orders, client lists, inventories, and so on.
"Is there anything else I can help you with?" Erlingur asks once the tour has been completed, his tone pleasant and unconcerned as it has been all along, as though he is unperturbed by the fact two Jedi have come with the questions they have asked.

So disarmed by Helaine's apparently open, bubbly and friendly personae that she is relaxed enough to have both largely forgotten the warning to be on her guard around the Zeltron as well as to be comfortable enough around her, especially with Franz's comforting presence nearby, that the excess familiarity does not invite the usual anxiety it might otherwise, Elikapeka laughs when Helaine teases Franz, and does not hesitate to take the seat beside Helaine when it is offered.
That she is meeting with Helaine in the role of architect plays a role in Elika's comfort level as well, the professionalism she maintains with clients often calling for her to overcome her social anxiety, and so Elika finds the request to see her preliminary design work comforting in its way, a part of a familiar routine that, like any routine, comes with a risk of lulling her into a sense of security that may not be founded. Opening her portfolio and beginning to take out the various sketches she has made as they are needed, Elika says, "I'll have a better idea of what will best suit your and Lyov's tastes after we see the location, of course, and I will be looking for a lot of input from you on the preliminary designs so that I can make changes to them, but here is what I have so far. This design is for something that is less a part of its environment that the others, she says as she places the first sketch on the table for Helaine to review, adding another as she says, The interior throughout the home, however, is one that affords contemplation of the surroundings and in some places incorporates them. After Helaine has had time to view the first set of drawings, or comment on them, Elika places another on the table, explaining, This design was chosen for something with easy access to the ocean, and features many large windows to keep it open and allow for appreciation of the natural surroundings and the landscaped elements meant to blend in with them. The final drawing is, from Elika's expression, one of her personal favorites, And the last one I have for you is designed to be a part of its surroundings more than apart from them."
Once she has presented the sketches, Elika becomes quiet to allow Helaine to review them, waiting patiently for any feedback that might be forthcoming so that she can use it to refine the ideas that most appeal to her client.

Franz, adopting his sheepish boyish grin when Helaine qualified him as adorbs, stayed the whole time in character and that was Elika's assistant. When Helaine explained to him how Lyov usually dealt with things, he had inclined his head nothing more, nothing less and just said. "I do hope that the designs imagined by Elika will please him as well, at least that can potentially be a silver lining?" Staying close but not too close of Elika, he was still mindful of his emotions, but also his thoughts. He knew that he had to thread carefully and right now he was just accepting gratefully the caf that he had asked for and thanked the droid before focusing his attention onto both of the women before actually sitting down on the other side of Helaine.
Not quite his most favored position, he really and truly was just a sitting duck right now but nonetheless he wasn't too concerned particularly when he just held his tongue and let Elika do the talking while she showed the sketches. Putting his caf down onto the nearest flat surface, Franz pulled out his notepad from his back pocket and a stylus to take necessary notes if needed and he even looked at Elika with a warm and genuine smile. He had told her this already, she did one heck of a job and right now really what was emanating from him was pride.
He had nothing further to say really and had preferred to remain quiet unless spoken to, after all, he knew his place and currently it wasn't his place to comment on anything about the designs but really he was just here to assist and take notes but also learn, being an apprentice and all. But really he had one job, one important one at that, and he had promised a few people, namely Andros and the Lieutenant to keep both eyes on Elika. This insofar wasn't too difficult but at the same time he exactly knew where and with whom they were with and that, only time would tell if anything would occur, for now he guessed he had the advantage of passing as a regular Joe, or just Franz, the aspiring architectural apprentice to Elikapeka Hekekia...

The Enchanted Florist
"No, I tell Erlingur after, our exploration of the shop and apartments concluded and not having revealed anything suggesting that he and his sister are anything other than what they appear to be despite my suspicions, I believe that we have seen all that we need to see. Returning his smile, the ridges of muscle over my eyes furrowing in an approximation of a human's apologetically knit brows, I add, Thank you for your cooperation, it is greatly appreciated."
Bowing at the waist in farewell, Knight Pakwa Sayen mirroring the gesture beside me, I take my leave of the floral shop, saying nothing until Pakwa and I are outside, making our way to our borrowed airspeeder. "What do you think? I ask Pakwa as we get into the speeder, Could we be mistaken?"
Pakwa, after appearing to ponder the matter for a moment, says, "Possibly. It is also possible that they are simply too clever to, erm, defecate where the eat? Waggling the datacard we had used to download files from the various dataterminals in the shop and apartments, Pakwa says, We might find something in here that suggests the shop is a front, little hope evident in her tone. Or not."
As I take the speeder up and bring it onto a course for the precinct, I nod, unable to shake the certainty I had felt when looking into the shop and its owners that it and they were more than they appear to be, suggesting, "We'll have Nuala go over the data, and search for any other properties Erlingur or his sister might own. As you said, they may be clever enough to keep anything incriminating somewhere other than the floral shop."
Once back at the precinct, Pakwa and I enter the room where Madieke is working, and Pakwa sets the datacard on the table as I frown and say, "Unless there is anything on there that suggests otherwise, our friendly florists may be no more than they appear to be. We found nothing to support the idea that they were involved with anything. We thought we might do a records search, look for any other properties they might own. Have you or the others learned anything new?"

Helaine smiles when Franz suggests that viewing the designs Elikapeka has come up with for their island retreat might give Lyov something to celebrate. "Oh, I do ever so hope so, Helaine replies, just the right mixture of concern for Lyov and almost childlike optimism in her voice to suit the character she plays so well so that her true nature is concealed. It would be lovely to see him smile again, she continues, biting her lower lip to hone the image of a worried lover. Smiling and sitting up straighter as though willing herself to set aside care and worry so that she can keep the mood a cheerful one, Helaine says, I cannot wait to show him these, and then turns to Elikapeka and strokes the architect's arm while asking, I can show these to him? Or copies of them?"
Leaning forward and looking at the designs once more after Elikapeka has asked for input, Helaine bites her lower lip as though fretting about her ability to contribute anything worthwhile to Elikapeka's designs. "These are all so lovely, Helaine says and then laughs worriedly as she goes on, I am not sure at all that I could offer anything that would improve on these. Shaking her head apologetically, her expression one of worry that she is letting the architect down, Helaine says, Would it be terrible of me to say that I think they are all ever so perfect just as they are? Maybe Lyov will be more help, Helaine says in the same apologetic tone. Reaching to pull the last of the designs Elikapeka had shown, Helaine says, I do think I like this one the best of all. I love what you've done the water, and how you've incorporated the plant life. Maybe, she suggests as though uncertain of herself, there would be even more plants around the pool? A garden made from other plants on the island maybe?"
After spending a few more moments looking at and commenting on the designs, expressing her thoughts about possible furnishings or interior and exterior features and decor, Helaine looks out of one of the observation deck's windows and then smiles as she says with childish excitement, "Oh look, we are almost there! Standing up and reaching for Elikapeka and Franz's hands to pull them up, Helaine says, We should go out onto the deck and watch as we approach the island! It is really quite a sight, I'm sure you'll agree," and then leads the way out onto the exterior deck aft of the ship so that they can all watch the island appear on the horizon as the yacht cruises over the sea towards it.
If Madieke's search for photographic evidence tying what she and other members of the investigative team mistakenly refer to as the lightsaber used in the murders the Vice Governor has been cleared of, a weapon which is more accurately termed a light foil, is painstaking enough, it will be rewarded. There are, as the Sector Ranger suspected, many recordings of Lyov's competitive fencing duels to be found on the holonet if one is patient enough to search for them. None of those recordings, however, include duels in which Lyov uses the light foil recovered from the body of the Clawdite assassin. There are a few pictures of a younger Lyov, taken either before or after competitions, where the light foils he used are visible, but it will soon be apparent that none are the light foil in question.
Only if Madieke is diligent enough in her search will she spot the light foil she searches for, and if, or when, she does it will not be a younger Lyov carrying it. In a picture, taken after what proved to be Lyov's final competitive duel, and the only one he ever lost, which many commentators at the time believe he deliberately lost when it became clear that he could beat his opponent, the light foil Madieke is looking for can be seen on the hip of an older humanoid female speaking to the young Lyov. While the female is not identified in the picture, Madieke might, by employing the resources at her disposal as a Sector Ranger, eventually be able to identify the woman as Margarid Avakian. Should Madieke enlist the aid of the Jedi in the course of her investigation, she will learn that Avakian was a member of the Mecrosa Order who was killed by a member of the Jedi Order twenty five years after the picture, the only one existing tying her to Lyov, of her speaking to Lyov was taken.
While the picture featuring the light foil is not the definitive evidence that Madieke seeks, that there is a link at all, however circumstantial, between the light foil and Helaine, by virtue of her relationship with Lyov, will undoubtedly be the final coincidence needed to convince the Sector Ranger that she was right to trust in Grandmaster Vyridian and Mace Vos's instincts. Left unanswered, for now, is whether Lyov is completely innocent of the crimes, Helaine's guilt now being all but certain, or the Master directing the actions of his Apprentice.

The Conlead - Observation Deck
Having worked with clients that want to have a say in even the most minute details of a project as well as with those that prefer to relinquish nearly all such control over to her, Elikapeka is not concerned when Helaine seems to be leaning in the direction of the latter attitude, and smiles as she reassures the Zeltron, "No, it isn't terrible at all, and then laughs as she explains, I will, naturally, still show you the designs as they progress, and you and Mr. Entin will need to give your approval on the final design when the time comes, so you will both have many opportunities to verify that my creative vision is matching your wants and needs before any construction begins. Gesturing towards Helaine when she adds a suggestion about the pool area of the design that has caught her eye, Elika smiles and says, See? You're helping shape the project already, and I'm sure that Mr. Entin will do the same. I always like to think of my clients are partners in the design process, so please always share any thoughts that you have."
Smiling over at Franz with an eyebrow arched in amusement as Helaine pulls her up from the seat, Elika says, "I'm sure it is a beautiful sight, and then suggests as they make their way out to the deck, If you have a particular site in mind for the home, it would help me to see it from the air, just to get a feel for what the surrounding area looks like, and how it fits in with the island as a whole. Have you and Mr. Entin settled on a particular site yet?"
The Enchanted Florist
Stretching her arms, covered in short tawny fur of precisely the same hue as that of the feline that is often found in the floral shop and which most believe to be a dire-cat, the tall blonde haired Felacatian, yawns as she reaches for the robe Erlingur had placed over the back of a sofa in the apartments above the shop. Pulling the robe on, her tail swishing as though perturbed, the Felacatian pads over towards the window to watch as the Jedi go to their speeder, displeasure evident in her tone as she says, "Someone hasn't been as careful as they should have been, mmmmmmrr, my pet. But don't fret, mmmmmmrrr, we're not quite at the point where I'd say we need to worry just yet."
Erlingur, not capable of concern by virtue of what he is, the true nature of his, and his twin's, true being as carefully concealed from all as the Felacatian's, nods, suggesting, "At a minimum, we should remove anything on site that could validate their suspicions. An alternate suspect might be in order as well, should even that precaution prove ineffective. Someone with regular access to the shop, or records of it that could quickly be fabricated."
"Mmmmrrr, the Felacation, Voshkie Teghtsun, purrs musingly as she paces from the window to Erlingur's side, patting his cheek after considering the idea, Very good, my pet, very good indeed. I'll leave the details to you, mmmmrrr, be very clever, very thorough, mmmmmrrr, back dated bank deposits and, she waves a claw-tipped hand, so on, whatever you think we'd need."
"Of course, Erlingur agrees with a nod, I'll begin immediately," and then proceeds to do just that. Selecting a member of the custodial staff, a Jenet with a convenient prior arrest record for possession of spice as the patsy, Erlingur creates records of the Jenet being at the floral shop frequently, arranges for large deposits of credits to be made to numbered accounts in the Jenet's name, backdating records from the banking accounts to establish a false history suggesting the Jenet has a long history of receiving such deposits, all of which are made from numbered accounts that would be all but impossible to trace back to him or his twin. Once his work is complete, Erlingur shares what he has done with Svana so that, should the time come that they need to feed Jenet to the Jedi, they will be able to tell the same story required to deflect suspicion from them and the floral shop.

Tangible. Identification. In or down. Secondary.
Madieke has just about given up on finding tangible confirmation of her theory when she spots the lightsaber she has spent hours looking for in an image she has probably looked at several times already before finally seeing what she has overlooked all along. Having looked at as many images of Entin as she could find on the holonet, and never seeing him with the lightsaber used in the murders Andros had been falsely accused of, Madieke had lit a cigarette, smoking it as she absently scrolled through the images she had found and saved to her dataterminal without really looking at them. Entin with his parents before a tournament, the parents looking proud and excited while Entin himself looked bored and aloof. Entin in the middle of a duel with an Echani, followed by Entin being declared the winner of the bout and looking bored and aloof. On and on Madieke scrolls through the images, frustrated that all she feels she has accomplished is establishing that Entin never seemed to take any pleasure in the sport he was apparently quite gifted at, until, not really looking for the lightsaber any more, she spots it on the hip of a woman speaking to Entin, who, she notes as she looks more closely at the image, looks neither bored nor aloof for once, and seems captivated by the woman.
Identification of the woman, Margarid Avakian, takes a lot more work than Madieke had anticipated, ultimately requiring reaching out to more than a few of her contacts from other law enforcement agencies and the Jedi Order. Avakian's association with the Mecrosa Order could easily explain where Entin received his training as well as where he learned to be so damned good at hiding what he is, Madieke thinks after reviewing the information her various contacts provide.
All in all, it isn't exactly the slam dunk Madieke had wanted, but it is enough for her to decide that the time has come for Entin and Orlov to be taken in, or down if that is the way things work out. With Orlov having yet to return from whatever it is she is doing with Delgrave and Hekekia, Madieke briefly considers moving on Entin now, but ultimately discards the idea. If Entin gets a warning to Orlov it would put Delgrave and Hekekia in danger, so Madieke decides it is best to wait until Orlov and Entin are together and in their home that is remote and isolated enough that preventing the couple from evading capture by melting into the city's populace should be easier than it would be elsewhere. Waiting also gives her time to organize a more concerted plan, which makes the prospect of waiting now that she knows what she knows only slightly easier for Madieke.
Having sent a brief holonet message to Nemes and Nazani to have them meet her in the room set aside for the investigative team's use, Madieke is about to send a similar one to Master Roma and Knight Sayen when the Twi'lek and her Sullustan companion arrive and spare her the trouble of doing so. "Yeah, Madieke answers the Twi'lek with a rare smile, you might say that I found something alright. The floral shop seems like a secondary concern, so Madieke sets that subject aside as she turns her dataterminal aside so that Roma and Sayen can see the image of the lightsaber she found, asking rhetorically, Recognize that? After explaining how she came across the image and then all that she had found during the course of her research into Avakian, Madieke concludes by sharing her plan to wait for Orlov to return him before, with the help of the UPD, they all go to bring the Zeltron and Entin in to answer for their crimes. I figure, in broad strokes, we have the UPD give us enough SWAT to completely surround the house, make sure Entin and Orlov have no way to make it off the grounds, Madieke tells Roma after sharing her plan, while you two, Nemes and Nazani, and I all go to, or if necessary, in through the front door to make the arrest. What do you think?"

From the corner of his eyes, Franz noticed that action from Helaine onto Elika's arm; for a brief second he winced at that action alone. Franz being Elika's so-called apprentice would know that his mentor actually preferred having her personal space. Then again he thought nothing further of it and just looked at Elika with a faint smile as Helaine carried on with her observation. He, of course, jolted down any addendum provided by Helaine to Elika's designs and kept silent throughout most of the presentation knowing that this was Elika's comfort zone, and thus might explain her being unfazed by how Helaine showed much familiarity previously.
Drinking his caf in between taking notes, Franz diligently followed the conversation but also was quite aware on how Helaine reacted or did not react. He could tell that she was a concerned lover to Lyov, but that was still something in the deep corner of his mind he questioned. If she was indeed playing that role, he had to admit she played it well. Then again who really was he to judge, and what did he know on every women's behavior. One could say that he was clueless he guessed, and there was that famous adage about men and women being from two different planets. Though the Force knew that he was surrounded by enough women on a daily basis to know that most of them wouldn't be able to really connect with the Zeltron. Insofar though he truly wasn't bothered by it, but he made sure to revisit his thoughts at a later date when he was far away from her.
For now he had just adopted a studious persona, one that was dutifully inclined to learn and to assist the architect herewith present. Glancing over Elika when he noticed that amused look from her, Franz merely smiled and stood up from his position before taking a deep breath, whatever was going through his mind, he knew that he couldn't share with Elika for now, but that wasn't a problem for now, he tucked away his notepad and the stylus on his ear before following the two ladies to the observational deck. "Need me to take holopics?" He asked Elika first and foremost before adding on. "Though I do know that you have a good photographic memory but it's always nice to have the subject in view again in case something else catches your attention?" Grinning boyishly before taking a deep breath and turning to look at Helaine with a somewhat worried expression.
"I am so sorry Ms. Orl— Helaine, I should have asked you first and foremost, as this is a private property and your private life." Palm to palm facing her as in a prayer and looking apologetic, Franz placed his forehead on the tip of his fingers and peeked her at with one eye open. Not only he nearly messed up by calling her by her last name and not her first name like she had requested from him but he had also suggested to take holopics without her consent first and foremost. But really there was a reason in all of this and that was still masked by his behavior currently.

Chewing the corner of her lip when Elikapeka asks if she and Lyov have settled on where they would like to have the home the architect has been hired to design, Helaine says almost as though she is guiltily admitting to not having done something she thinks she may have been expected to do, "I'm ever so very sorry, but no we haven't picked the spot yet, no. We have found a few different places, she adds as though trying to make up for her transgression, we are quite fond of though, and I could show them to you. We thought it might be best to let you pick location that best fits the home you design," Helaine explains, and then motions for the protocol droid to come over so that she can give it instructions to relay to the droids piloting the yacht so that they can fly over the island as Elikapeka had asked.
Laughing when Franz apologizes for not having used her first name as she had asked and for not having asked permission to take holopics of the island, Helaine moves closer to him so that she can pat his arm while reassuring him that, "Oh, you really mustn't worry so. As cute as you are, even when you are worrying, I cannot imagine anyone could ever be cross with you for very long anyway. Please, take as many pictures as you like," she says, gesturing towards the island as the yacht reaches it and begins slowing its speed to allow Elikapeka and her assistant to get a good like at the island and its terrain. The island is entirely undeveloped currently, consisting primarily of lush, wild forest or jungle-like terrain with a few mountainous areas at the island's center. The possible building sites that Helaine has the droid pilots fly over are varied enough that Elikapeka has many choices as to what environment the home she designs will fit into, ranging from areas near the beach-like outer edges of the island to forested areas with natural waterfalls.
After the tour of the island, Helaine has the droid pilots return to any of the individual possible sites for the home that Elikpeka or Franz express a desire to view more closely, and even has the droids set the ship down should the architect and her assistant wish to walk around the sites themselves. Helaine, as though not wanting to interrupt Elikapeka and her assistant as they work, stays out of their way as much as she can while answering any questions asked of her. As befits the scene she had tried to set from the very beginning of the day, Helaine appears distracted or worried when wandering alone, while appearing to put on a brave and cheerful face when interacting with Franz and Elikapeka. Unaware as yet that the game she and Lyov have played has already been lost, Helaine plays her part with her usual perfection, her true nature utterly masked by her meticulous portrayal of being a flighty, cheerful, pampered socialite who is eager to please both architect and her assistant, though always with an undertone of being concerned for, or perhaps by, Lyov. For what could very well prove to be the Zeltron's last performance, it is, fittingly, a masterful one.
As they are beginning the journey back to the mainland later after touring the island, Helaine asks Elikapeka and Franz, "Can I have anything prepared to eat or drink for either of you? Moving to watch the sun setting over the sea from the observation deck, Helaine says in her childishly breathy voice, The whole island is beautiful, isn't it? It's ever so very hard to pick just one perfect spot for the home, really it is. What do you both think, did any of the locations seem to be the best for the design?"

23rd Precinct
Arriving not long after Master Roma and Knight Sayen, UPD Detectives Nazani Pakchoian and Conall Nemes are in time to hear Madieke's summary of how she was able to link the lightsaber hilt used in the murders that had initially been attributed to Umgul's Vice Governor to Lyov Entin and, through him, to Helaine Orlov, long suspected to have been responsible for the murder of, at the very least, Tok'la Sike.
"Nice work, Nazani tells Madieke after the Sector Ranger has finished with a brief synopsis of her plan to effect the arrest of Lyov and Helaine. Drinks are on me once we have 'em in custody, the dark curly haired, short and curvy Lorrdian says with a grin. You need me to get with our tactical po-pos, let 'em know we'll need to borrow a few of them to help bring in one, maybe two Dark Siders?"
Nemes, a gangly Rodian in a rumpled suit and trench coat, asks, "We sure we might not need a few more Forcies on our side? No offense, he hastily adds to Master Roma and Knight Sayen, but we've seen what Orlov alone is capable of with what went down with Sike. If Entin trained her, he's probably just as dangerous. Shrugging a thin shoulder, he says, I dunno, just seems like we might want to err on the side of too much help rather than too little, you know?"
The Conlead - Observation Deck
The island Lyov and Helaine purchased to build their getaway home on proves to be every bit as beautiful as Elikapeka imagined it would be, and offers a veritable multitude of options so far as where the home she has been hired to design could be built. Her client's sense of aesthetics more important then her own, Elika had been content to tour only those sites that Helaine selects to show them, and spending enough time at each to walk around them enough to get a feel for the area and how and where best the home she and Helaine have begun to design might fit into the environment without the need to alter it any more than possible.
Having made many quick pencil sketches, which along with the holopics Franz had mentioned he would take, throughout the course of the day, Elika feels confident that she has enough to further refine the design Helaine had indicated was of most interest to her, and already has more than one idea about landscape design and other details percolating in her mind when they return to Helaine's ship to start making their way back to the city.
Shaking her head with a smile, Elika tells Helaine after being asked about whether she would like anything to eat or drink, "Nothing for me, thank you. Absorbed as she was in her work, Elika had not failed to observe that Helaine never seemed to truly stop worrying about Lyov, and found her company to be more enjoyable than she had anticipated based on her last interactions with a Zeltron, which had been made uncomfortably awkward at times given the Zeltron in question's indiscriminate use of their pheromones, something that Helaine, refreshingly, would seem to eschew as a general rule. Conveniently looking through the holopics Franz had taken when Helaine asks which locations had caught their attention, Elika selects the relevant images to show Helaine as she replies, The island is absolutely gorgeous, yes. As far as building sites go, I liked this site here, with the waterfall, and also this one here, at the edge of the forest on this beach area. It is really a matter of opinion though, and yours and Lyov's are the most important for this project. Did he happen to mention a preference for any of the sites you showed us today in particular?"

"Very well done indeed," I tell Madieke, echoing Nazani's sentiments after listening to how the lightsaber used in multiple murders arranged to appear as though they were committed by Andros was definitively linked to Lyov and Helaine. Though a few questions remain to be answered, such as whether Lyov is involved in the murders which can now be proven to have been committed by Helaine, or why it is that Helaine alone or with his aid or perhaps even at Lyov's behest would attempt to frame Andros, those answers may soon be answered if Lyov and Helaine can successfully be brought into custody.
Tchun, my left lekku, swishes up behind my back to curl around my left hip as, resting my chin atop the knuckles of my right hand, I consider Madieke's proposed plan for apprehending Lyov and Helaine, and what the detectives both say after she has lain out the general idea for the plan for us. Leaving Nazani's question about the SWAT team for Madieke to answer, I answer the one Nemes had asked after giving it some thought, "I will have Knight Madison accompany us as well for the arrests," tacitly agreeing with Nemes that it is probably best to err on the side of caution. Though I had briefly entertained the idea of reaching out to the Mist Order for assistance, I ultimately decide not to do so; with all that Atlantis, Andros and the other Jedi of the Mist Order have been through recently, and are going through now with the arrival of Crystal's siblings, it would seem cruel to ask them to help deal with the authors of some of their troubles, especially when I came to Umgul expressly to relieve Atlantis, his twin, and the others of the burden of dealing with the matter that I hope will soon be brought to an end. Percival, though he is first and foremost a healer, is a capable warrior in his own right, and I believe that, he, Pakwa and I will be able to effect the capture of Lyov and Helaine.
Taking my comlink from its pouch on my belt so that I can have Percival begin making his way to the precinct, I ask Madieke, "When do you propose we make the arrests?"

During their outing, Franz did his assistant job and had taken pictures of the sight that Elika mainly focused on. Thankfully, Helaine had given him that permission to actually take holopics. He had thanked her profusely for her kindness and the fact that she in fact cooperated. Now that they were back on board, Franz was perusing the pictures with Elika, in fact he let her take control of the slides and just watched with undivided attention even took notes as mainly Helaine and Elika talked with one another but considering Helaine did ask him and Elika a question, Franz shook his head and smiled amiably.
"I'm good, thanks a lot, although please don't let me stop you if you are feeling peckish?" Franz grinned warmly, truthfully whenever he was in the midst of something, he didn't eat much and instead focused on the task at hand, and right now it was the sites that Elika was looking at which he had taken pictures of. He wasn't a pro, but he wasn't awkward either and he took pictures that weren't blurry, thankfully. Thinking about Helaine's other question, if he had some preferred sights, Franz thought about it but really his preference, anything convenient that was good enough for him but really it wasn't his choice anyways, but his input was asked.
"I do like the peace and tranquility and the sound of waterfalls is indeed appeasing, everything is honest and just straightforward with water." Franz smiled thoughtfully, and maybe he was implying something there too, speaking in double meaning but then again he stayed casual, and just spoke in a friendly way that it appeared he had no hidden agenda. Which quite frankly he was still indecisive about, but he also couldn't deny some facts that had been presented to him, but he was still willing to take the approach of innocent until proven guilty he guessed.
Placing his notes on his lap and smiling warmly at Helaine, Franz momentarily glanced at Elika "In the end indeed, it's your choice and any place your heart's and Mr. Entin's desire will be perfect for you both." Franz retook his notes readying himself to write down every important thing that would help out Elika, as reminders.

Dozen. Home. At all times. Latest Developments.
Madieke nods when Nazani asks about contacting SWAT, "Ask for at least a dozen, and then pauses before adding, Preferably twice that." Since she and her allies will have the elemenit of surprise on their side, Madieke considers the addition of the SWAT team mostly a precautionary measure. Neither Entin nor Orlov strike her as runners, and Madieke believes that they will stand and fight rather than come in easily, meaning that it will be up to her, the Jedi, and the detectives to subdue them.
"As soon as Nuala reports that Orlov returns home, Madieke answers Roma's question about when they move on Entin and Orlov. She had some kind of meeting at the starport with Delgrave and Hekekia today." Nazani's reminder of how Sike's guards fared in their encounter with Orlov almost makes her question Roma's decision to add only one more Jedi to their roster, but she ultimately decides to trust the Twi'lek's judgement and considers that particular subject to be closed.
Jedi usually have all they need on them at all times, so Madieke is mostly addressing Nemes and Nazani when she says, "While we're waiting to hear from Nuala, everyone get geared up and do whatever else you need to do to get ready. Again more for the detectives that the Jedi, she adds, Remember, the objective is to bring them in alive if possible. The Vyridians have more than one friend in the room, and Madieke knows that there is probably more than a little anger towards Entin and Orlov for all their actions put the twins and those close to them through in the past several weeks. Since she personally believes that to allow personal feelings to pollute the dispensation of pure justice is a perversion of justice to be avoided at all costs, Madieke's reminder of their objective is as much for herself as the others. Weapons on stun. Rapping her knuckles on the table softly as she thinks of whether anything else needs to be said, Madieke is quiet a moment before she raps the table again more emphatically and wraps up, I'll comm you all once Nuala reports in that Orlov is back home. Smoke 'em if you got 'em."
Heading up to the precinct's roof, Madieke lights a cigarette after turning the collar of her trench coat up and looks out at the mist enshrouded city pensively. Taking a drag off of her cigarette and exhaling slowly, Madieke gets her comlink out and fills Nuala in on the latest developments, and instructs her to report in as soon as Orlov has returned from her outing, and to then hold her position to watch over the estate while the team assembled to make the arrests moves out.

As though she is delighted to find that Elikapeka and Franz's opinions on the most desirable of the prospective buildings sites offered by the island are aligned with her's and Lyov's when in reality the opinions of others matter to her very little if at all, Helaine claps as she says, "Oh, that is just ever so wonderful to hear! Lyov and I also found the area with the waterfall particularly appealing. Referring to Franz's comments on water, having missed the hidden commentary as she has no more idea that Franz shares Atlantis and Mace's suspicions about her to some degree than she does that he is, ironically given his commentary about honesty, and just like her, currently playing a role and hiding who and what he truly is, Helaine looks over at Elikapeka with a smile as she says, clearly for Franz to hear, Your assistant seems to be have a poet's soul, doesn't he? Adorable and sensitive, I really admire you Elikapeka, I don't think I would be able to focus on my work if I had such a deliciously delightful distraction around all the time."
After asking that Elikapeka and Franz proceed as though the site with the waterfall will definitely be where the home they have been hired to design will ultimately be built, Helaine answers any other questions about her thoughts on other aspects on the project Elikapeka might choose to ask her, at all times maintaining her performance perfectly, often appearing uncertain of herself and her opinions, seeking Elikapeka and Franz's thoughts frequently.
Once the ship has set down back in Umgul City, Helaine disembarks from the luxury yacht 3000 along with Elikapeka and Franz, and then takes Elikapeka's hands in hers as she says, "Thank you ever so much for today! I absolutely cannot wait to see your design now that the site has been selected! Releasing Elikapeka's hands, Helaine moves closer to Franz and smiles as she says in her childishly breathy voice, Thank you for everything you did to help today happen too. After arranging for Elikapeka or Franz to contact her when the time for their next meeting arrives, Helaine lifts her palms to her lips, kisses them, and then holds the hands up so that one points to Elikapeka while the other points to Franz, blowing on her palms as, unaware that it is the last time they will all be together, she says, Goodbye for now! I simply cannot wait to see you both again!"
After taking her leave of Elikapeka and Franz, Helaine goes to her airspeeder and, unknowingly beginning the countdown to when she and her Master will confront the forces that will come to take them into custody, begins the trip back to the home she shares with Lyov.

23rd Precinct
Giving Madieke a thumbs up when told to see if SWAT will be willing to lend them a dozen or more strong team, Nazani motions for Nemes to join her after they are all told to go and get ready for the arrest. "Kokya N'gwuti still leads a SWAT team, right?"
Nodding with a grunt as he takes his blaster pistol from his shoulder holster and sets it on stun with a distinctly displeased frown, Nemes says, "Yeah, she's a good choice. Smart, careful." Having worked with the Togorian on a few ops, Nemes feels a little better about the impending arrest attempt. Re-holstering his blaster as Nazani pulls out her comlink and reaches out to N'gwuti, the gangly Rodian stuffs hands in the pockets of his rumpled trench coat and waits for his partner to wrap up her conversation.
"She's on board, Nazani says after a few moments, then starts hunting and pecking on the keyboard of her datapad to send some files to N'gwuti, explaining, She wants what we have on Entin's house. Layout of the grounds and floorplans, that kind of thing. Says she'll get her team together, geared up, and ready to move when we give the word. Once she has sent the files, the curvaceous, dark haired Lorrdian says, C'mon, let's go grab our tactical vests and then get some caf while we wait."
Tresk Keneh, one of the members of N'gwuti's team that occasionally augments his regular income by giving a few select members of the press advance notice of whatever law enforcement operations he hears of, reaches out to Doran Healy after being informed of the impending arrest attempt, unaware of the fact that doing so endangers not only his life, but those of his teammates as well given that Healy, once informed of the arrest attempt, immediately sends a holonet message to Helaine, warning her of what he has learned.
Spaceport
Waving goodbye to Helaine, Elikapeka turns to Franz after the Zeltron has left, smiling as she teases him, "I think she likes you old woman, and then purses her lips in thought after glancing at a wall chrono to see how late it has gotten. Wanting to get some of the ideas she has had about the design project Helaine and Lyov have hired her to complete down on paper while they are fresh in her mind, Elika asks Franz, not wanting to keep him from any Jedi business he might have neglected due to having been assigned to take her lieutenant's place, You wouldn't mind if we went back to the office for a while, would you? I'd like to do a bit of work before we head back to the Lakehouse, unless you have other things you need to do."
While she has a studio at the home she shares with Crystal and Lily, Elika is mindful of the fact that Crystal and her family had some things they wanted to discuss, and as she feels as though her presence might be a distraction or nuisance, wants to give them as much time as possible to be able to talk in private.
