Andi, basically, we were talking about just skipping forward to the day after the battle, and then writing any key bits that people wanted to write from the Battle - personal confrontations, major victories, major character deaths, etc - as flashbacks. Keeps it a little tidier, instead of picking up in the middle of a heated battle and following it through to the very end when we've lost posts and I'm holding the only, text-only copies of what was lost.

Ahh. I see what you mean and concur.
As for holding off on the war SL how about something down the middle. Perhaps a lull in the battle or even the Mando's withdrawing only to return in greater force. We can portray the first engagement as a probing attack, a test of defenses perhaps. Not the main thrust it was. Then we can get a little RP down before we continue?

No, I think if we're going to go with it, we'll have the "day after the battle" being the first day of the subsequent siege. The Mandos will hold a disabled Yavin Station, the Jedi Fleets will be scattered, most - though not all - of the students will have been evacuated.
If people want to do some RP first on Yavin, definitely do so - I suggest that it be considered as occurring in the week leading up to the Mandalorian attack. Then we can mark the start of the RP to do with the Siege on each thread with something like
"FOLLOWING THE MANDALORIAN ATTACK"
or
"THE MANDALORIAN SIEGE"
or something.

Question is, who is still here for each side, and how quickly do we want to get this moving again?

From what Im gathering, Jago, we are gonna get our feet wet again, learn the new layout, and then get back to it. That's how Im taking it at least. As for who is here...should we take roll call?

Roll Call would be nice. At least, I'd appreciate it. See who's still interested, and maybe even grab a few others to replace any missing people.

Should I throw a thread up for a roll call/new signups?

For the siege of Yavin at least, I'd wager. Hold up a bit until we hear back from Dave and Rob, though, I'd think. They're the two major composers of this shindig, after all.
Actually, know what, screw them. What have they ever done for me, besides provide excellent RP and be generally awesome.
Throw it up, Adi.

Sign up makes sense, but keep the sign-up fairly limited, as there are some people that haven't made it back yet that I reserve the right to involve when they return

I just put up a roll call. Jago here put up a signups sheet. I was WAITING to see who was here and who wasn't, but he decided to get overanxious and post a signups thread for the siege, LOL.

Good, now I can get in on this. Hey Kel -- I'm here, as is Serrin / Raksha... do you need us? I'd very much like to shoot at things... -Cal

Roll Call is a fantastic Idea, I am with Dav on holding the right to hold spots for people to come back. Sign ups is a little premature at this point I think, but that's totally cool.

The Mandalorian Siege of Yavin IV begins, and the Mandalorian Holy War is reignited on new JvS. First of all: The following OOC thread has been created. Can everyone make sure they have read and understood the first post before partaking in the RP. Mandalorian Siege OOC ThreadSecondly, the main IC narrative, outlining the conclusion of the battle lost to the great crash of 1.5, as agreed by the leaders of both sides of the battle, are outlined in the following post. Please also read that, firstly so everyone is following the same story, and secondly because I spent a lot of time trying to make it suitably cool and I like to think that people would enjoy it: Yavin Orbit - Mandalorian Holy War Narrative PostSome threads within the Jedi Praxeum still have current RPs unfolding on them, please let them finish before any Siege-related posts happen on those threads. I will repost the opening crawl on each thread as and when said thread is opened to the siege.

Depending on the timing of it all, Cap'n, some associates of mine and I may need to get off-world in a big damn hurry.

Where are we at with this siege. What can we do as Jedi/Republic to assist from the outside?
