Nice post, Dante.
You and Liya are more alike than either of you realize. Her culture still exists, but as a military deserter who's believed to be dead, she can never go home to it. The fallout from her father's murder cost her both her public life life as a soldier and her covert life as a bounty hunter in training. There's only two people from her old life still alive that know she survived.
