Fel Crew ('The Unfair Advantage')

Thank you for getting in touch with me, Liya, I'm very appreciative and touched that you thought of me.

Crew, Fel, I'm just going to put this out there. I was responding consistently within 24 hours. I really can't put forth any quicker response time than that on a regular basis without losing major writing quality. But I also am not going to write by myself on my own without anyone for a 2nd year running. I refuse. You want me to post? Give me a response to my character actions. With that said, I'm also going to assume for my own sanity that this rant and talk of staleness was in no way reflective of my small but awkward role in this mess.

This pace has thus far in the past 18 months been my only experience with the crew. This lack of interest or fear of moving forward or whatever it is, is what this crew is most infamous for, even before I joined. It's been YEARS Fel, why is it just now an issue?

I'll try to get in touch with Seros. We had talked recently about this and other SLs, but I'm not sure what was concluded in regards to what he had time for. I would personally have liked to keep Kaali with the crew and help build it into activity again regardless, but the background story is too tangled up with Seros, so my continuation will be based on his decision. Liya, I don't want to keep you waiting too long on Skip One, so if you feel it is time to move on without Kaali, you have my understanding and blessing.

Hey guys (Liya, Jace), just trying to get our ducks in a row - in my head at least - just so I can think about what I'm gonna write and such. My huge posts come at the expense of a lot of forethought unfortunately.

So, as to I'm understand it, Fel gets captured, the crew gets wind of this, we decide to split up and "search for him" and our plan is to continue the search for the artifacts - perhaps based on the hunch that Strahl got his hands on Fel - we gather the artifacts, while branching out on Liya's side SL and perhaps something of Jace's, and then culminate by returning the artifact at Coruscant? If so...does anyone remember where all the pieces are? I mean, I think Daniel wrote it down somewhere, but, I can't seem to find where...

You're right -- this is in no way a reflection on your posts. The one and only post you put up that directly affected and prompted a response from me, I quite enjoyed. I also enjoy reading your other writing, even the stuff that's only affecting other characters in the crew. Same goes for all of you.

That said, I was trying to go with the flow. Writing the crew into a SL that wasn't at least partly my idea has been very rare up to this 'artifact' SL, and since it wasn't mine, I really wanted to let someone else drive the plot, and make forward progress, because I often feel like the bad guy, shaking an accusatory index finger at everyone else to post, post, post, just to keep up the famously slow pace we're known for, as you pointed out.

But being out of the drivers' seat meant that we ground to a halt.

And a) I'm not enough of a jerk to demand we dump the SL in favor of something new to inject new life.

And this fear of moving forward, or lack of interest (I don't know what it is either, aside from life imposing its will on writers' time) has burned me out. I'd rather write with alts, than keep checking in on Fel's IC thread to find that nothing's happened.

And like you, Kaali, I can't stand writing by myself.

So are we gone? I don't know. Nobody thus far has made any attempt to stop this dissolution. Nobody's said 'Wait! Don't do it!' Nobody's raised so much as an eyebrow.

What would be the point of saying "wait, don't do it!"? I can't make life magically rearrange itself so everyone can post any more than you can. So while I could tell you to stay and keep the crew together as a single writing unit, I'd have no incentive for you to do it. None of the things that made you decide to go write with someone else in the first place would have changed.

That said, you were the first one that decided to go write elsewhere. All we're doing is following your lead. This break up of the crew isn't just on our shoulders. The idea I proposed is the best way i can see to get everything done that needs to get done while also not holding you and others hostage waiting for posts. If you have a better way to do it, I'm all ears (and I'm sure the others are too), but I don't want to keep you locked in limbo with the crew any more than you want to be seen as the bad guy. You chose to go write elsewhere instead of wait, and I for one can respect that choice.
