Fel Crew ('The Unfair Advantage')

Dan, there's a little nugget in there for you. Too a few liberties. if I've overstepped or got things wrong or you just don't feel like you want it in there, please let me know, I'd be happy to change or delete. Just kind of have millions of little moments with the crew sitting in my head and felt like writing one.

Once you and Wade post, we'll figure out IC what the others are up to.

After a rough chat conversation earlier today, I've decided: It's time to regroup, reconnect, and rethink. It's been a long while since we had a group meeting, it's been too quiet here on our nice little OOC board (and, let's face it, the IC board), and we need to figure a few things out. /I/ know why everyone has been MIA because I'm an invested friend and stalk all your pages on FaceBook. I know in the past, we've talked about maintaining better OOC communication, and we did well for a while, but it's time for a reminder...with a twist. Yes, check in here. Yes, tell us what's going on, why you're MIA, what's on your mind. But for those of us worried about not knowing where people are, it IS a two way street. We all have our information on FaceBook. If you wanna know why someone hasn't been around, they are only a PM away.



Now then. To business! Because, let's face it, this group is too good to give up on, no matter how many months passes between posts. This process of slowing, halting, kicking into gear again is not Fel Crew exclusive. It happens all over every single RP website I've frequented, in every group.





First, where is Dante and what's his MIA story? Is he returning? Gone forever? Anyone?



Second, Malora is almost done with Part One: Save Wade's Ass. I estimate another...three posts? That said, Jace, Liya, you've got some choices to make. I was talking to Jace about this earlier, actually. To my understanding, it sounds like you guys have a lot left to write out before it would be time to meet back up with Malora. But with Dante gone and Liya absolutely inhumanely bogged down with work OOC, we may need to rethink how things need to play out. I hate to do it because I hate pushing what would be an epic follow-through to the side, but eventually, things have to progress. We could:


--put everything already written for Liya, Jace, and Dante on the back burner, fast forward for Liya and Jace, and pick up there when Malora arrives. That way, we can move on and you guys can STILL write the rest of it at your leisure.

--Malora has (well, is in the process of) securing a legit IC job. Liya, Jace, if you two think you can finish up in the next…hmm, three weeks? Is that fair? Four weeks because of holidays? Anyway, if you guys think you can dot all your I's and cross your t's in that time, we can do it as a crew. If not, honestly, it would probably be faster if I just did it myself, giving you guys time to finish up, and then we can regroup.


I think no matter what we do, condensing everything until we get back together seems like a good idea. Only the necessary, light on the good stuff in favor of progress. We've done it in the past, and it's not fun, but we're nearing that point where people are starting to feel like jumping off the nearest cliff.

To be clear: I'm not saying no one has had good excuses for lack of activity. Not saying that at all. I am Worlds Most Understanding Person. I know that just because some can juggle life and post doesn't mean all can, and I know that life can drain you of any and all mental energy in the span of 20 minutes. I don't want anyone feeling pressured. The fire I'm lighting under our asses right now is a nice, loving, warm one, not a hellfire scorch-your-soul type. But I know things have to happen. So.



That said, what exactly ARE we doing for the big meetup? Say LiJaDante finishes all their stuff and Malora is done with hers. What then? Where are we meeting? What's the next step? I've been assuming this whole time that we'd go after Fel, somehow. But did we work details out? Like where we're meeting, etc?



Fel, where are you on your own story? I've been following, but I wanna hear your thoughts.



Wade, I know you're swamped. Would it be easier for me to just double-post a little until you're able?



Daniel, what are you up to? You've got your hands full offline as well, are you still interested in 'rejoining' us? Wanna wait until you have more time? Where are you on all of this?



Chime in, peeps! Ideas, concerns, lay them out! Add to the little poll I'm taking on the bottom. I'm not giving up on this shindig. But if your heart isn't in it anymore, we all need to know where everyone stands. If you don't wanna continue, well, this isn't a dictatorship. We'd miss you, but would understand.

I'm not certain there was ever a plan per se re. going after Fel. I assumed that by the time y'all were remotely ready to consider going after him, I would have paid penance for my sins. I originally thought I'd come to find you. Whoever my big bad was, was supposed to provide the showdown necessary for the reunion, however brief it would end up being.

But now there have been three big bads, and I honestly have no idea where I am in my own SL, aside from merely doggedly posting in Fel's style, which is as much as to say I'm being an old, anxious, angry curmudgeon IC. Not much different from OOC.

Am I in? Sure. In as much as I can be, by myself. Hard to keep momentum going. For sure I'm in as Wrench -- having more fun with his posts than my main right now. There's still a good part of me that wants to see Fel dead, but only under the right circumstances. But there's another part of me that worries if I killed off Fel, that would spell the end of JvS for me, as I've never created a character that interests me to write as much as Galdaart.

...entirely interesting. I am literally the polar opposite of this. I would say that poor excuses can (and do) exist for a lack of activity. I am as guilty as anyone. I also am World's Most Understanding Person (I usually say Patient in place of Understanding,) but when the threshold is reached and breached, it goes off like a gun shot. I know that all can juggle life and post. I have three jobs, a two year old, a wife, a four hour commute, and routinely work 14+ hours. Add to that depression and I have no idea how I find the time to post, except to say that it makes me feel normal, and that's important. (And I think it helps that I don't care an iota about chat. If I'm here, I'm posting.) I do want pressure to write, personally, because I feel we have something too good to let go. I'm more of a hellfire scorch your soul type. But you're right Lor. Things have to happen.

I wasn't worried about your whereabouts Liya. I'm not waiting on you. I'm waiting on Wade, and Draykon. I merely answered a question pertaining to you on chat: "has anyone heard from Liya?" To which I replied that aside from a FB like or a post like, we hadn't talked in months. But I wasn't concerned, our paths were not about to cross again any time soon, so you weren't holding me back.

Now, it's always nice to see you, or see a post from you, don't get me wrong... And it would be lovely to think that when Wade/Malora/Wrench/Mack/Oz whoever else is on this half of the crew split, is ready to meet up with You/Dante/Daniel/Jace, that you've moved your SL along to a point that you're ready to do so... But I also knew that was a long way off. So even in that regard, I wasn't concerned.

It also needs a legend, but I'll get around to that -- some of it is self explanatory, but not everything.

That seems... Really big. Lol.

That big empty space could be the primary cargo hold. Maybe have a loading ramp that extends off the side of the ship for larger containers and stuff that wouldn't fit up the main ramps (like speeders of the not-bike variety).

hmph. Now that you mention it, it does seem big. Probably closer to 35 meters, which makes her much bigger than the falcon. (But wouldn't she be bigger than Falcon anyhow? Falcon is round (and not small by any stretch.) UA is long. I imagined the two cargo rooms as, well, the two rooms with boxes in them. I don't hate the cabin layout, but I can't really figure out what to do with that big ole' room... Wade's idea is a solid one, though... hmmmm...

Yeah... Needs more work. Damn.
