The grown ups were talking, right before you showed up. Last I checked, "glorified errand boy" wasn't really a grown up job, whereas "billionaire genius inventor/best hacker in the 'verse" is most definitely a grown up job.

There's also one other thing I'm not quite gung ho about, and I get the feeling my fellow temporary crew mates might not like it too much either. It's this little thing I found while perusing my PM inbox. Let me know if it looks familiar.

As for the hacking, only an infant would assume that copying part of a message I readily have access to is something I consider to be hacking. Now I'm not saying YOU are an infant, mind you, but... ah, who am I kidding. That's totally what I'm saying.

I answer only to the laws of physics, my friend, and sometimes not even those. But since you want the big wig (Galdaart Fel), I'm afraid you'll have to go through the Fel empire first. The cap'n went and got himself arrested (last I heard anyway). Second in command would probably be Liya Tawaza, but as far as I understand she's not only preoccupied with a personal vendetta right now, but also on the verge of falling madly in love with a certain genius engineer whose name shall remain unmentioned (it's totally me, btw). The rest of the crew is kind of dispersing. Good luck finding us. lol.

Seriously though, all ribbing and verbal jabbing and bear-poking aside, I'd love to take an IC crack at your security sometime.

I get that, except you weren't saying it on your own. You were offering a pretty job all tied up in a bow, without any OOC hint of your real plans. To me, that looked like an attempt to mislead my crew OOC in order to eventually put them in a situation IC where you can manipulate them to your hearts content, and that's not cool in my book. IC, go ahead and manipulate all you want, but be up front OOC with the people you want to write with. Starting off with "hey guys, I've got this job I want you to do" when all along your plan is to force us to join or blow us to pieces is not cool at all and a really good way to make actual enemies.

I'll admit that sharing that info outside of its original PM probably wasn't the best move on my part, but I made sure I didn't include any info to give away the other parties involved. I was just giving my crew the heads up about your less than honest sales pitch. I don't like it when people try and manipulate my friends (their characters, on the other hand, are a bit of a different story).

I never said that's what you were going to do, only that that was how it looked from where I stood. I apologize for jumping the gun, but I do have past experience with you. It's not bad experience, by any means, but it's also not experience that would tell me you'd always be up front about things. You have a habit of being earnest and straightforward after the fact. Or at least you used to. (I'm Trask, btw)

That said, I could have warned the crew without quoting the PM, (though to be honest, half the site is already privy to that thread, lol), and I apologize for using the direct quote. I didn't think it would be a big issue, given your willingness to reveal it in an ongoing PM thread with over a dozen unrelated recipients (two of whom are also members of this crew along with myself). That doesn't really say "hey guys, keep this on the down low" to me, unless you actually say to keep it on the down low (which you didn't). Had it been a personal PM specifically sent to only the small group of people you wanted to know about it, this would have been a different matter entirely.

I don't care to read this...discussion...argument...whatever you want to call it. This thread, the planning thread for this crew, isn't the place for this. Sort this out amongst yourselves in a PM. We have enough problems with the crew fracturing, trying to get things sorted out RL time wise, to have to deal with this as well.

I'm not boss here, but I know for a fact that many of us would agree that we don't want to see this thread locked or some nonsense because of an verbal escalation...so just take it to PMs, please, and thank you.

Dred, talking down to a member of the crew isn't going to get you very far. Neither will expecting one of us to let you mislead the rest OOC. We don't do anything that everyone isn't comfortable doing. 

Aside from that, we already have several jobs to do, so I don't see how we have room for another job right now. Sorry.
