So I have an idea of sorts and such. Since the order is is need of a serious overhaul (obviously) how about a nice IC meeting of all the masters of the order. Sometimes I feel that we do a lot of planning and not a lot of doing so maybe this can combine it a little bit. We can all meet up and hash out our leadership and structure as our characters rather than our OOC cool headed loving selves and such... just an idea.... maybe you all hate it and will just ignore it.. that's acceptable too..

I had been considering a similar idea myself Mike, and in light of recent events IC it would make sense if the Order convened an emergency meeting of the order in some sense or another. I would suggest that it be at the temple on Coruscant, and that if some cannot be there in person that they can be present via hologram. This would also be an excellent way to begin creating the feeling of a unified Jedi Order again, I think.

That seems to be all the Jedi Order does is have meetings....isn't there any other way we can get this hashed out? Meetings are all we end up accomplishing, and nothing really ever comes of them.

Actually we haven't had a meeting (a real one) in quite some time. Truth be told the jedi IC did a lot of meeting and such. I just thought it would be nice to do a bit of the hashing out IC rather than doing every single thing we do OOC... but that could just be me.

Any meeting of the Jedi ends up that way...either someone gets their ear shot off by some drunk-ass doofus, or someone has a problem with one of the other jedi, or someone took a dump in the community toilet and didnt flush....something pisses someone off, and we end up bickering.
We need to do something different.

Well sorting it out OOC isn't much better. Perhaps we all need to commit mass suicide and then have the order build up from the ashes once again to fight the sith, and all be 2 feet tall.. that would be different....

It's also a way to create RP for a lot of the incoming Jedi, and will also allow the news of Yavin's fall to officially be spread throughout the order. Besides, meetings in response to such events (The Fall of Yavin, which was a major Praxeum within the order) are often far more interesting than just standard meetings. I remember one time when someone had nuked one of the major population centers on Mandalore shortly after another group had attacked the Warmaster's hall directly, taken Mand'alor's helmet through dishonorable means, and then destroyed it, we ended up having a meeting where the dead were honored and a new helm was forged in front of the assembled Mando'ade. It was an event that brought the various characters and writers together, and which helped to galvanize and strengthen the organization IC. That, in a sense, is what I am thinking that this meeting could be.

I think the OOC hashing out is still a good idea. But the rping of an in character meeting frankly, seems like fun as long as it doesn't degenerate into the Tython mess. Coruscant would be a good place. And while I believe it was suggested for Jedi Masters, all the Jedi should be reading, and if anything has something they feel the need to say, either pm one of the masters, or post. Is Yavin falling to the Mandos temporarily? At the moment, I don't see a logical alternative. But, it should become a Jedi world again in the future. |
