Everyone is welcome to show up. I believe the purpose of the list is to determine what active masters we have in order to make a vote for who is on the HC.

No, not at that meeting at least. Though, like I mentioned, if you go to the Council Spire, a current member will respond. I think Zalor and Dev were leading the Shadow side of things, perhaps PM Dev, and have him be the one that responds to you when you RP in the Council Spire; if not then either Aer or I can, I am sure. *Try not to get tied up in timeline, this is just a mechanism we agreed on in order to bring in higher contact and collabo with the would be leadership.*

Like I said, it is the meeting of the masters that is called for, if everyone be welcome, then we will have another Tython. We are even allowing 'new' masters like Monte and Tyor, but that, i believe, is as far as the invite will extend.
OOC is the best way to hash out what will promise to be an arduous IC process, with 8 masters at least already promised to show up-- can you imagine how slow the posts will go as is? Not trying to be tyrranical, just being realistic.

I figured you meant show up but not as a part of the HC thing. Just having Octavious to show up to meet with the leadership. Zalor is MIA and comes on rarely. When he does, it's not to pass any group details. As far as I know. I'll contact Devlin after the grand meeting so traffic won't be obnoxious.

I was going to have Ray be at a master level, but if you don't want any more masters at the meeting, I'll stay out.

Ray? I think it has been common practice for a long time to at least start new characters at knight, establish themselves, then move up to Master.
Adi did that, Monte is doing that, i think Aer did it, Kel'Al did it, etc.
I think it would be practical to make Ray a highly skilled and experience knight on the verge of Mastery, and we can work on his ascendancy soon after. Just to be fair, and bring a little more context and story to the front a bit more for that character, and for the Jedi Order as whole.
It's not like I am making an effort to limit Masters, I am just trying to limit the meeting to. . .the ones we already have? Makes more sense. Or else everyone will just make new masters and join the clutter.

To my knowledge Raylia is an existing character of Sin's; she just hasn't been active for a while. I remember seeing Sin writing Raylia as far back as 1.5 if not 1.0 if that is at all relevant.

Also, do we want to take a rollcall of all the active Jedi still on the site ...or is that list going to be too long?

Just fyi Will, Jade has been a master in character for well over four years rl-time by now. (Only mentioning that because you didn't include her in the original list.)
And if you're going by the starting as experienced Knight with new characters, Tyor D'nec is a new character, unless I am mistaken. (This could well be the case.)

He is new here on JvS, although he is adapted from an existing character that I have used in the past. I merely envisioned him as being a low-rank Master given his age and abilities and how I envisioned his personality. He's a bit maverick, to be sure, which is why I won't even be trying to vie for a spot on the HC with him, but I see him as more of a Master than a Knight in terms of personality and behavior. My apologies, as I didn't think that it would be an issue >.<

I never made Master. Probably would have if I had stuck around long enough...
Oh well. I'll get there eventually. So this thing on Coruscant is Masters only for now?

No offense everyone,
but given Monte's state of mind past Carida, the Battlefield promotion will be enough pomp for monte

Raylia was started as a Knight on 1.0. I realize that you have not had the chance to interact with her but she attained Masterhood back then. I was unaware that new writers to the Jedi here were forced to start at the bottom of the ladder regardless of whether they had the experience or not.
I hate to bring up the Sith, but we do not require anyone to start out as acolytes or apprentices in order to make a character with us. If they want to make a Lord, then they are free to do so. This rule comes off as very strict and a little offputting, considering the work I put into Ray back then at the CoK.

Well, Eli is in the same situation as Ray and Tyor, though Eli was started back in 1.5 and I don't really have much interest in retconning the way I write him, what from a masters perspective. If that's an issue with everyone, I may just not worry about it.
That being said, I don't think people should be pigeonholed into writing something they don't want to. It kind of goes toward the game verse collaborative fiction debate, but its important nonetheless.

Adi did that, Monte is doing that, i think Aer did it, Kel'Al did it, etc. Teehee... nope. It was never a requirement to start off low, more of a suggestion for better character development, but that's always up to the writer. It's not "we don't want people starting off as Masters"... at least for me it wasn't. It was more "we don't want people playing ridiculous Master characters. Of either alignment." Of the writers involved who are writing these "new Masters," even if there wasn't proof of their Masterhood in the past, I trust the skill level of the writers not to flub it up. You're okay with me, not that you should have to be okay with anyone.

If your backstory is good enough and your character is old enough to have acquired some wisdom and experience, then I see no reason why someone couldn't start out as a Jedi Master. Just as long as you're not a 16 year old kid claiming to be one.
EDIT: I'm glad someone up there agrees with me. Thank you, Aerandir.

I think if anything it was more to keep the Jedi from having 12 year old masters of the Force.
I'd rather Ray, Tyor, ... was there a third? just be accepted as masters. They are all good writers who know what they're doing.
Don't want to echo Aer and Atton, but I agree.

Only reason I haven't laid claim to Masterhood is because Atton never trained a Padawan up to Knight, not in 1.0 and not in 1.5.
Hence why I'm looking for a Padawan. I've been here way too long to not be a Master, I think.
