Jedi Council OOC planning

Yous Guys talk too much.

Okay, so let's get crackin'. Pulastra Style.

1. In agreement with the Council having its major stuff on Coruscant, and trying to establish it as -the- Jedi Homeworld: a place where everyone knows they can go to get in touch with us when necessary. Will, we had been speaking about that at the end of 1.5, so I'm glad to see it returning for 1.6

2. Watchmen: Adi, smack your guys into line. That is all. More formally, agreed that you guys should, at the very least, work in pairs, and I'm kinda partial to the idea of divvying up sectors of Space for them to keep an eye on. Means we always get Jedi in on the action, wherever it pops up.

3. Investigators: How many do we have left? Are there any others interested in becoming one?

4. The Republic: what steps are we taking to work closer together with them, and who are our major contacts with the Senate? The Council is kinda obvious, but I feel liaisons that act as the "go-to" Jedi for Republic requests, questions, and answers would be a nice touch to show that we are, indeed, members and defenders of The Republic. Hence why basing us on Coruscant is a-o-good in my book.

... But yeah, we dropped the ball on that one. If we have Investigators ready and willing, we can get cracking on that right away.

I'd imagine the Council as a whole would be the advisers to the Chancellor, much as it was in the Old Republic: Vallorum and Co. didn't just go to Yoda or Windu, they approached them as a whole.

Yes, the Jedi Investigators are basically The Order's version of Detectives: they work with the Law for local governments to help track down and capture known criminals, pirates, rogue Jedi, Dark Jedi, Sith, whatever seems to be plaguing an area with crime. Think of them as the Cop Drama side of The Jedi Order.

The Jedi Order is taking a stance that it doesn't matter if a world is in The Republic or not: We may assist The Republic, but a Jedi's duty is to The Galaxy. It's why The Order has resisted the status quo so many times throughout history when the reigning government began acting in a way that goes against the beliefs of The Order. We're keepers of the peace -everywhere-: a Senate doesn't get to tell us where to go and what to do. It only brings problems to our attention so that we can deal with them. Beyond that, our own intelligence (combination of the efforts of The Watch, The Investigators, J-Tech, and our many wandering Knights) is used to find trouble and then go fix it.

We are all one Jedi order. I dont want to belong to too many groups, ya know? Adi -is- part of the unified Jedi Order, but he is also a Watchman. See what Im saying?

It is good to be back, Alkor. Much as I've hated all of you, I must say I'm relishing the opportunity to take another crack at it.

I'm just glad we're all getting along famously. It's nice to have the Jedi Order become respectful again.
...Oh, and Alkor and Frantz are part of it, too. 


But seriously, if Coruscant is our main place for meetings and things, Council-wise, that's cool.  I mean, it makes it easier to read through (and find) past meetings if needed.  I guess the only thing left to do is wait and see who returns and who doesn't.  Then we'll have a better count of where we stand as a galactic power and can start our campaign of domination and determine where to go from there.

You could probably count resi as an investigator, though investigating is not what I would personally call what he does.

I feel as though there needs to be a less "liaison" position affiliated with the Watch, since we have a Leader who is Knight Advisor on the council. Just kind of seems like overkill. I mean, we don't need that tight of a leash, do we?
