Sidetracked? The Jedi? Inconceivable!
Well, I think we should see if anyone wants it.
Did we originally choose Adi as a Council or ...how did he get the job? Would it make more IC sense for the Council to appoint the Watch Lead or for the Watch to promote their own Lead? I'm all for the Council promoting the Lead, after getting input from the Watchmen and Adi, of course.

You keep saying that word Devlin Dewe , I don't think you know what it means... Ok Princess bride ref. aside (dang it all finals) With all due respect to the people in power... i don't think, at this moment, that we need a watch lead. when the Jedi watch was formed, all we had was the high council (not trying to dredge up any drama lama. we didn't think we needed lower councils thanks to the high council we had set in place... In fact, I thought at least that was why Adi was originally brought into the council (as an advisor), but in our last restructuring, we brought back the canonical council that seems to (from my perspective) run the watch. with that said, if the jedi still desire to have a single leader, i would suggest that Broon Krano and Kay'li Raganella get rights of first refusal to the position, and if not whomever is chosen be requested to take a seat on the council of reconciliation if only for appearances sake. those are my words... confusing as they may be... sorry, but now i have to go to another final.

Broon and Kay'li aren't "field" commanders though. They assign tasks and the like, sure...but there really should be someone that runs the Watch itself. They are already leading their respective council. I know of at least one or two people very interested in the position.
I don't believe taking the position away would serve any purpose, in my opinion. It provides an RP angle, storylines, and someone who is in the field with the Watch that they can come to and trust. At the very least, the Watchman Lead is a contact point for the Jedi Council. They get the orders/missions from Broon and Kay'li, and plan how to best execute them.

We could work it out IC. It only makes sense that with Adi's appointment to the High Council that he would step out of his role in the Watchmen and would need replacing. Given our place on the Council of Reconciliation, Kay'il and I wouldn't be good for the position since it would require complete devotion to the Watchmen and we have other aspects of our council to think about. So being the former commander, Adi could give his recommendations IC and a new lead to Kay'il and I and we appoint someone. It not only makes sense but it puts our positions on the Council to good use.

I agree. While I plan to continue to be involved with the Watch, I certainly don't have the bandwidth to lead it. I think we should continue to have a Watch Lead, and that person should be chosen by and report to the CoRecon. However, as Adi is the outgoing Watch Lead and knows far more about his fellow Watchmen than we do at this point, it's only natural that we would take his IC recommendation into heavy consideration. Broon and I will be meeting in person soon, and you could join us (via holo would be more than sufficient) to make this all official IC. This also gives the CoRecon something important to do.

As a further thought: From an IC perspective, we might not truely need a "Watch Lead" but for OOC purposes, we need a central person to take responsibility for coordination and communications -- someone to call the shots, and make sure we have good IC coverage.

Hey, everyone. I'm back. Someone told me Kuat was underway. Am I late to the game?

What, exactly, would the watch lead need to do? No, that is not an idle question.

Honestly? An OOC position more than anything, but IC a liaison from the Jedi Watch to the High Council. That's how its been played thus far.

I am honestly not sure who claims to be a watchman or not. below is the list of jedi that founded that group back in the 2012 summit Tira'misu Kay'li Raganella Ang'el Uhani Veran Kein Zhan Vectivus Adieumus Matango Will Son'tir Alkor Centaris and Steffo Rancis in addition, i know that Eli Vandal has the experience as one somewhere in his past, so he should be on the list, and at some part far off in the future, maybe in May... Monte will probably be assigned as watchman for Bakura.

Currently my NPC Jess is playing as Watchman, but she is not in an official capacity and she is currently being Corrupted.

I believe Adi had someone specific in mind as his successor, and I intend to at least consult him before making an IC decision.

You can probably take her off the list until such time as she returns.

I would like to state that the list i posted was not a current list, but rather a list of those that were named at the 2012 summit, I was not trying to create an up to date list... i would leave that to the powers that be to take care of that...
Tira'misu Kay'li Raganella Ang'el Uhani
Veran Kein
Zhan Vectivus Adieumus Matango Will Son'tir Alkor Centaris
Steffo Rancis
Diamonte Tuhlute Eli Vandal
Zhan- hasn't made the transition to 1.6 Steffo - was here, but all accounts for the moment are removed
Alkor - still could be a watchman, but if i am not mistaken he is one of the leaders in the Shadow reboot
Eli & Monte - i will let Rev speak for himself, but for me the title is not even close to official yet, I just use the watchman group as my main for 3 reasons
1) in a unified age, i couldn't see monte favoring one academy over another 2) Monte is not currently sure of things after debacles on Carida. 3) Eventually, in his nomad wandering state, Monte will be responsible for looking after the planet of Bakura

Sooooooo.... I know I have been gone for the better part of this past year (was busy as hell), but I'm back to writing again. First things first, do we have high council-y people around anymore? I ask because once I am done with this little SL that explains some things (probably going to be a month or two), I am going to be releasing semi-crazy Arhiia on the universe to cause a little havoc (with friends) and she'll want to address (read: maim, kill, and otherwise slaughter) her old friends on the council before she destroys anything else..

Only semi-crazy? Damn. I'll have to keep you in my basement for some time longer, perhaps her insanity might ferment.
