Although I know of Belial's true intentions, I will allow him to speak his part on that. On the other hand, allow me to make this suggestion... *ahem*Fall back to Dac, call upon remaining loyalists, form a new Rebel Alliance/Resistance, begin rebuilding once more, hit-and-run tactics, GO GUERRILLA! Have so fun with being the Alliance to Restore the Republic! Wave that flag of democracy, get your Mon Cal Admirals out of retirement and take back the Republic planet by planet for the sake of nostalgia! Especially once I get the First Order rolling more publicly  We can duke it out all along the Hydian Way, the Corellian Run, planet-to-planet, sector-by-sector, system-to-system. What do you say guys? I can use a good and traditional foe once I get the gears really working here! |

As I said, I am prepared to wait and see what happens.
The first problem we will encounter, is that as far as open RP is concerned, there is no current Republic leadership. We were supposed to have an election months ago, but it never happened, and the previous Supreme Chancellor OOC quit. So my question (for Belial as well as any remaining Republic writers) is, how do we want to play this? Should we make up an NPC chancellor so that Belial has someone to whom to direct his demands? I say make up an NPC, so that no one has to put an existing character on the line, and we can have any fate befall the Chancellor that might be appropriate, including imprisonment, assassination, etc.

Perhaps join hands with the Jedi then and seek out smugglers, princesses and... wookiees. I mean Aer just got a load of them from Kashyyyk. Everyone gets their own walking carpet-... I mean, Chewbacca. Heck, I would gladly try to throw people into your camp just by striking at them under the guise of the First Order.
As you can see, I am willing to do some cooperative effort to make this happen. Cause, although we may have to live without a Republic, we cannot certainly live without some small bit of it trying to keep things alive and seeking to restore it once more!

I'm attempting to see what I can do about fixing up the Jedi situation as it currently is, but I would be willing to help work with a potential Rebel Alliance/Resistance in the future. Personally, while I know we're hyped on the new movie and going with the First Order and all, I'd prefer "Rebel Alliance," sine it just sounds way cooler, but that's just me.  And Wookiees were mentioned. Yes, recently-freed Wookiees would be awesome to have as a part of said Alliance. |

When it comes down to the absent Republic Leadership, I've partially addressed the matter in the most recent HNN article I've written. With the both of them missing in action IRL (Kinda, in Darma's case.) I've followed through with that, for unknown reasons they've gone missing and that Republic Intelligence is currently investigating what's going on. In the meantime, to address the issue of stagnation within the Republic, and I'm not talking the overdone charity event or lack of broken promises in other RP's, I've gone with an elective and extended election period to have the two replaced.
That's where Belial (Masquerading as the former Jedi Varro, and Husband to the Queen Mother.) and the Hapes Consortium are going to be visiting the heart of the Republic, and through subterfuge and diplomatic guile, will bring down the festering pit of corruption that has become the Republic. When I posted my message beforehand, it was a mixed statement of what I had planned to do if there were people that were willing to join my little scheme, and if there were those that were opposed to it. From the IC perspective, the Republic is far weaker than what the Hapes Consortium has become, so if things went south - Belial would string his puppet wife along and forcibly dismantle the Republic, ruining his best laid plans.
That being said, Standash and I already have something in play. I don't want to spoil it as we believe it would make for a nice surprise. Now, she's just waiting on me to get all of my ducks in a row, so I hope that by later on today I'll have something for her to respond too.

That all sounds good to me.
Would it be appropriate for me to proceed IC as if an election is imminent? I don't mean taking it as far as any campaigning yet, just internal discussions.
