I nod my agreement of the captains comment about it being a shame that such a thing had happened, and waited patiently for the response. Upon hearing that a copy of the contract did indeed exist, I allow a slight smile to spread across my face.
Excellent, If you would be so kind as to have a copy forwarded to this address, I hand him a data card containing the address of Feorost's business office. then you may see to your ship and be on your way whenever you are ready. Is there anything you need in particular?

Isen nods, this was more or less what he had expected. Well, truth be told, he had been expecting a little more flowery talk & backstabbing but ...
-Isen We make do with what we have to work with. Numbers. I can balance the scales with sheer numbers. A battalion of stormtroopers can do more to hold a planet than a single warship can. But without the ships the stormtroopers have no way of reaching the surface.

The 'Tryst,' a well-used, but well-maintained (and modified) Corellian YT-2000 light freighter, with Erin Darkwell at the controls, dropped out of hyperspace and angled toward Foerost's orbit. There was no subterfuge, no countermeasures, no intent to deceive. In the cockpit, Darkwell sat, and brooded. She had known this time would come, but she had yet to retrieve the information she so desperately sought from her honored guest. He had been... stubborn.
She thought for a few minutes, as the dark side of the planetoid loomed larger in her viewport, and she performed the basic orbital checklist by rote, rolling the ship to port, bringing the ship into a dorsal orbital approach at two-thirds thrust.
There was no point in opening a communications channel... the Tryst would have appeared on Imperial orbital defense grids the moment she emerged from hyperspace. The assassin glanged over her shoulder toward the compartment where Galdaart Fel lay, bound and sedated. If he would not give her what she sought, at least she could collect on the sizable bounty he carried. Indeed, her 'guest' was expected.
They'd contact her, soon enough.

If he was comfortable dealing with the imbalance, then I was ready to proceed. I have been a military man for to long to waste time with unnecessary words.
I have little need for masses though, I have no plans to get bogged down in a bloody ground war. I need quality, men who operate unsupported, indefinitely, and who can perform missions of high strategic importance, even against long odds. I'm looking commandos, Isen. How many of those can you trade for a warship?
The ship was indeed spotted by the planet's defenses and a red flag was sent up, as this ship had used one of the two remaining hyperlanes, not cut short by a rather large asteroid, like most of the lanes had been. Thus it was nearly a full minute before the expected message was sent. It's routine approach gave it the appearance of a freighter on routine business, though it had come in on a route that was supposed to be secret. Well, this wouldn't be the first time such a "secret" had been found to be something significantly closer to common knowledge, if that was indeed the case here. Brass decided to treat this as a routine visit, lest they give the pilot information he didn't already have. Namely that the route used wasn't one that the current government wanted to see used frequently.
Unidentified freighter, please state your business on Foerost, and the duration of your stay.

Ah, there it was. The communication that almost guaranteed there would be an exchange of credits in her favor, and rather soon. The Remnant didn't waste time bargaining, and dealings with those of her profession were usually kept brief, and business-like. She would be in and out of Foerost inside six hours. If she was lucky, two.
This is the 'Tryst.' Incoming prisoner transfer, reference number 957182444. Awaiting landing clearance. Out.
The freighter settled into a low orbit around Foerost. Darkwell could almost perform a mental countdown from ten. They wouldn't wait long.
Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three...

The officer handling the Tryst's odd arrival, looked into the file sent, and nodded, it was a bounty delivery, that could explain the use of the route as well as a few other things. He quickly cleared the ship to land in a less frequently used portion of the main spaceport. A welcoming party would be waiting for the ship, with the appropriate amount of funds waiting nearby.
Tryst, you are cleared to land in docking bay 254, a transport will be ready to take the prisoner upon landing. Please enjoy your stay.

254, roger, out. Darkwell entered the coordinates and broke orbit, angling down toward the planet's surface. In less than five minutes, the starport came into view, and being the good assassin she was, the Tryst circled once before landing at docking bay 254, checking angles of attack and defense, planetary defenses and visible troop and gunship activity, and general topography. Satisfied that should she need to make a hasty exit, she had the best vector to provide cover and evade pursuit, she touched down on pad 254, a little before day-break.
Shutting down the engines, but leaving the ship fully powered up and ready for a quick dust-off, Darkwell checked the loads in her sidearm and flexed her forearms, feeling the satisfying hiss of cold steel slide in and out of the gauntlets concealed under her jacket. Leaving her blaster rifle behind, she walked back through the belly of her ship, and paused at the kolto tank where the unconscious Galdaart Fel spent his last few moments in her expert care. New scars from her ministrations criss-crossed his face, torso and thighs, but the kolto was doing its job nicely. The skin grafts on his abdomen weren't plastic-surgeon-grade, and after further consideration she decided he would miss the fingernails on his left hand, but they were healing well enough. She touched the cool plasteel where his face would have met her hand if the tank had not been between them. Stroked the tank almost lovingly, though there was ice in her eyes.
Turning away, she extended the access ramp and descended to speak with her hosts. Bye Fel... maybe next time, we'll finish what we started...

TC watches the freighter descend, and keeps tabs on the ship all the way to the surface, brass wanted to be certain it was a routine business trip. The Tryst didn't deviate even so much as an inch from its designated approach vector. Brass finally concluded that this must be fluke.

An Imperial Sentinel-class drop ship rose from the planet, carrying one unconscious Fel, it made it's way slowly past the asteriod blocking a direct jump out of system, and then jumped into hyperspace on a course for Aaragu.

*Isen checked his datapad for a few moments, but it was more to buy time to recall what little he knew of commandos. The datapad itself was blank.*
-Isen One commando for every metre of the ship that is being traded. Is that acceptable?

Pellaeon considers the offer, it is a good one, he knows, and so he has little difficulty accepting the offer.
It is. That aside, what ships are you looking to acquire?

*Isen had not expected the first offer to be agreed to & he was mildly worried that he had underestimated the value of a commando. But it was too later for that now.*
-Isen Frigates & transports mainly. A few larger warships would also be required.

Interesting choices, but not uncommon for a relatively small navy; as any navy supported by only a handful of worlds was bound to be. That was suitable, and since he was willing to offer commandos by the meter of ship, it was likely that Pellaeon would be getting just enough to suit his needs. He slid a data-pad across the table as he spoke. It contained a catalog of all the ships available to the Foerost Shipyards, which was most of the entire Imperial fleet, excepting of course the SSD and larger classes.
Very well, place an order when you're ready. It will be available as soon as possible; and please indicate whether you'd like a delivery or pick up..

Quickly checking the list, Isen picks out A trio of Imperial II SDs, a dozen Assassin corvettes, & an Immobilizer 418.
-Isen These should do for now.

Pellaeon nods, as he looks over the list, a good selection. He notes the lack of compliment craft and asks if this was intentional.
Do you intend to acquire your compliments elsewhere or do expect them to be delivered with the ships ordered?

Isen nods, it had been a fairly expected question.
-Isen To be honest, we still have more than enough TIE variants floating around that compliments will probably not be a major issue for the near future. At least barring any major unexpected losses.

That was everything that came to mind, well the matter of payment schedules, but that was simple enough to work out.
Do you want payment in lots or all at once? I would like to receive payment for the first delivery within the next two months, to the amount of no less than half of the agreed upon price by lot. (Which is to say, he wants the first half of Khomm's payment up front, but is willing to scale the payments to the ships being delivered, as Foerost can only produce so much at any given time.)

-Isen Half up front is acceptable. The remaining units to be handed traded at the same time as the delivery of each ship.
This was more in line with what Isen was used to. In short, he would be paying off the remaining troops needed for each of the ships when he got the ships. Simple, fair, direct.

Excellent, that ties things together quite nicely. Now to see if there are any other items to discuss, on this very profitable of visits from Khomm.
Done. Was there anything else you wanted to speak of?

Up till now, everything he had done could be considered furthering the war effort, something the Warlord would approve of & possibly even reward. Greatly reward if they could find some way to subtly sabotage the commandos. This next part on the other hand would spell a quick but painful death if it was discovered.
-Isen First, I must ask exactly how much authority you have to make deals.
