Situated on a sub-level of the Great Temple, the detention center was used to house prisoners by the Rebel Alliance for the short time they occupied Yavin IV. Expanded by the various tenants of the planet over the years and updated, the place now resembles a jailhouse from any other facility. While not used as much, this being primarily a school and the facilities in orbit more than capable of housing prisoners, it is nevertheless maintained and active. Although the centre is a part of the Temple's stone structure, it is as secure as any other detention facility commonly found in military establishments. The cells doors are spaced at six meter intervals and each cell is three meters by six, with a bunk against the far wall, and each cell contains rudimentary refresher facilities. A force field system is in place, though the cells have heavy durasteel doors to save power usage, and specialist equipment for the containment of Force Users is available, including stasis units.
There is a small control room where the turbolift opens out and a six by six meter, open fronted, short-term holding cell off to the side. The holding cell is closed by the use of the same kind of force field as well as several other safeguards.

The Mandalorians have brought war to the Galaxy once more. Under the leadership of Mand'alor ASHRAH INTALBO, and his General CORR VHETT, they have begun a campaign against the Galaxy's Force Users. The Jedi World of Yavin IV was the first hit, a strike at one of the greatest Jedi strongholds. The Mandalorians took YAVIN STATION, the mighty orbital defence platform, thanks to a brilliant infiltration strategy by DUKE AUSTRALIS, and under the order of Jedi Master DAV MAN'SELL, the Jedi forces retreated from orbit. With the Jedi fleets scattered, the Mandalorians took their attack to the surface.
However, the Jedi defences were not so easily overcome. With starfighter cover lead by Jedi Master JAGO PULASTRA, and ground defences overseen by Jedi Knight ADI MATANGO and Falleen strategist TZA'UAX, the Jedi were able to force the Mandalorians to withdraw to orbit. However, the defence is not without sacrifice - redeemed former Dark Sider DACE CONCORDIA, at the beginning of his path to reclaim the mantle of Jedi, was slain by the Mand'alor in bloody, vicious combat.
Now the Mandalorians are settling in for a long siege on the Praxeum, blockading the planet and seeking constantly to take out the shield generator and ion cannons that form the backbone of the Praxeum's defence. Dav, Jago, and the other resident Jedi of Yavin lead the hard fought and desperate defence, whilst Adi, working with Master WILL SON'TIR and Jedi Knight DIAMONTE TUHLUTE, and the Jedi Watchmen, seeks to prepare the Jedi, and the worlds of the Republic, for the inevitable assault to come....

It had been a quiet ride down the turbolift: five bodies, seven minds, not one uttering a word. He hadn't expected the silence, least of all from the darkness in his mind. But Vilus had retreated in on himself after the arrest, and Cao wasn't about to start poking the sleeping beast.
The Detention Center was just as quiet as the turbolift ride: there was very little activity down here, since there hadn't been any Mandalorians captured alive.. yet. Everyone was more focused on the battle above, and rightly so: for the most part, this level would mostly provide a fallback location if necessary and a place to store surplus supplies. Unfortunately, what with the blockade in place, there would be no surplus -- quite the opposite, in fact. Cao felt a twinge at having to leave these two alone down here, before he remembered that neither of them were truly innocent.
On that note, Cao decided that he needed to break the silence.
"Corporal, you called ahead. Which ones are waiting for our guests?"
His shoto was still gripped in his hand; there had been no reason to reload it into his arm mechanism yet, and of the weapons of the three enforcers in the turbolift, his was probably the only one suited for proper close combat should either of the women have tried anything incredibly foolish. He certainly wasn't going to relinquish his grip now, not until the two had been locked away in their separate cells.
"Zuli, you're going to need to use some of the special equipment. I don't know about Sidara," he said, "but Kirith is a Force-user. She could break out of standard containment if she felt so inclined."
He was almost certain that Kirith was going to protest against that statement in some way, and he could feel the exasperated eyeroll building up already. Whether that came from him, or from his dark personality, wasn't clear, but the day was already started to wear him down. And that made him vulnerable.

The Corporal stepped into the room, glancing around him. A dozen cell doors sat around the room, plus a smaller lift that led deeper into the subterranean tunnels, and a corridor leading off to storage. He glanced at Caoimhin and the towering Zuli Madoon.
=Corporal Alex Owains= "Should be someone here to meet us."
As if on cue, the sound of footsteps echoed towards them from the storage corridor, and a green skinned Twi'lek, in the non-combat uniform of a member of the Peacekeeping army, turned the corner at the end, carrying a stack of bedding. The Corporal snorted in dry amusement. Fresh, clean linen; whatever came next, at least their prisoners could be sure they'd get a comfortable bed.
The soldier stepped into the room. He was a young male, mid-twenties, his uniform carrying the insignia of a private. At his hip he wore a standard issue Peacekeeping Taskforce blaster pistol - a personal defence weapon, identical in design to the one Alex carried, sat atop the main watch desk, its display the dim orange of lock out mode.
With military efficiency, the Twi'lek set the sheets down and stood to attention. Alex gave him a relaxed salute - he'd not slept in twenty six hours and was past the point of strict formality - and gestured toward the two cuffed women.
=Corporal Alex Owains= "Two singles please, private."
The private nodded.
=Private= "They called ahead, sir. Three and four are prepped."
Alex turned to Zuli and Caoimhin, directing his next statement to the Shi'ido.
=Corporal Alex Owains= "I'll set up the special measures, sir. With your permission."
'Special measures' was, in Alex's opinion, a somewhat misleading term. Though, he supposed 'Freaky ass lizard that gives Jedi the heebie-geebies' was, to say the least, a bit of a mouthful. Almost as much of a mouthful as the lizard's real name, which Alex had never managed to pronounce correctly. The set up in the Praxeum was simple – the Lizards were kept in storage in a special chamber deep beneath the temple, where they were provided the necessary nutrients and cared for by the animal training specialists, and each cell had an equivalent chamber immediately beneath it for holding them in, keeping the creature in range of the prisoners held within the cells without either being on the same level (where they could be poisoned or otherwise put out of action), or being on a level close enough to the rest of the Praxeum to affect other Jedi activities. So far, it had proven rather effective. Alex had only heard of one person ever breaking out of the Praxeum's holding cells during captivity there, and that had happened nearly eight years before he'd joined the Taskforce. And since that person had been Dav Man'Sell, who had since devised improvements that had made the detention centre even more secure, he felt fairly confident that anyone looking to escape the cells was going to have a bad time of things.
He headed for the small side lift, stepping into it and keying in the lowest level, where, dozens of meters beneath the soil, the creatures from Myrkr were kept. The lift jolted to a start, slipping down from the detention area and leaving Zuli, Caoimhin, the Private, and the detention area's newest guests behind.

"Just so you know, I'm not so inclined," remarked Kirith shortly to Cao as the Corporal discussed their arrangements with the soldier with the bedding. "I am a well behaved model citizen being detained, since your officers have yet to give me a clear reason to warrant an arrest." She smiled over at Cao, a smile that didn't entirely make her eyes. "However, if you boys would like to get this charade over with and tell us exactly why you're so hot and bothered about detaining us, I'm sure we would be much obliged. Then we'll undoubtedly discover it was a simple misunderstanding, we'll all laugh about it, and then we can move on from this uncivilized affair and carry on with our lives." She paused, then added, "I would appreciate if Jedi Vesten were to know of us being detained? We did come down to the planet as his guests and at his request. Or rather, insistence. It was quite odd."

Zuli walked into the detention block in silence, still thinking over what the presence within Caoimhin had said about Kirith being so dangerous. Perhaps it was linked to the Mandalorian armor found inside her ship. He'd investigate further..
When Cao mentioned the special equipment, the Jedi Master knew exactly what he was on about. The Ysalamiri were truly a wonder of nature. Able to repel The Force, the creatures excelled in use as containment measures for Force Sensitives. Many years prior, he had passed by the planet Myrkr , Zuli had inadvertently stumbled into the effective range of the neutral bubble the creatures had created. The sensation of being disconnected from The Force was disorientating, the worst feeling of numbness and lack of all sensation ever encountered by Zuli in his near 400 year life. The only time he had come close to replicating the experience was caused from suppressing his own presence in The Force so much he nearly severed his own connection to the all encompassing energy field..
Even with experience, Zuli still felt a slight level of unease in or around the presence of the lizard like creatures..
He listen to the Corporal and nodded as the man headed off to complete his work. Moments later, Kirith spoke up. Zuli looked to her and listened to what she had to say..
"Rest assured you are not being detained on a whim. The security team were well justified in notifying us and leading to your arrest. In a short time you'll be interviewed and we'll proceed after there. We shall do everything possible to speed up the proceedings and get this all resolved.."
The Armored Jedi Titan stepped towards Kirith and gently stood her before her detainment cell. He deactivated and removed her cuffs, placing them on a small security desk to his left..
"Please remove your boots and belt and any other items in your pockets. Then place them on the desk, you'll be given a full receipt of all the items.."
Zuli refrained from frisking the woman himself, giving her the opportunity to show the level of cooperation Kirith claimed to be offering. Once she placed her belongings onto the desk, Zuli gestured towards the open cell door. She walked in, barely batting an eyelid, which was strange to the Jedi Master, given her earlier behavior, but he paid no thought to it. The same procedure was followed for Sidara and she too was shown into her cell. Both the women's goods were sealed in containers and their cells were sealed shut. Zuli walked behind the security desk and clicked open the comm..
Zuli to Dav, both crew members of The Cat's Paw have been detained safely and are in the 'guest rooms' awaiting questioning, over..

Cao had known what the special measures were going into the Detention Center. Anyone who had spent enough time in the Praxeum knew about the ysalamiri kept beneath the detention blocks. Cao was grateful for the fact that he had not been subjected to their effects during his break, about a month ago.
"I'll be sure to let Ves know, Kirith," he said to the Corellian woman, using Vesten Kor-taan's nickname in an effort to show his familiarity with the man. His casual speech was aimed at more than just that, though: he was not as accustomed to the effects of the ysalamiri as Zuli was. Quite the opposite, in fact: he had only been to Myrkr once, for a business transaction years ago, and during that brief time it had been barely within his power to keep from being consumed by panic. His parents had raised him to embrace his Force awareness from a very young age, and it had become second nature to him. He was unable to keep the Force out by himself, having to resort to artifical means in order to shield himself and others from his perception, and to suddenly have his most essential sense cut off..
The darkness sneered as it felt the light-side abomination's fear start to build up. Vilus had been stripped of the Force, once, but had overcome it by plunging himself further into darkness. The Force-negating lizards would prove to be a simple inconvenience for him, rather than the debilitating obstacle that they were for Cao.
As much as Cao didn't want to be here, didn't want anything to do with the Force-empty bubbles the creatures naturally exuded, he knew that his duty as a Jedi extended beyond his own fears and wants. He turned to look at Zuli, his face a mask of emotionlessness, his aura one of resolve in the face of adversity.
"Given my familiarity with at least one of the subjects, and given the nature of what we found.. I'd like to be present for the questioning. Sir."

::Copy that, Zuli. We'll give them an hour or so to consider their circumstances, then I'll have a talk with them one at a time in the interview room. I imagine you'll wan't to at least observe, yes?::
As the Comm Signal came through, the sensation of a Ysalamir bubble eased over the two cells, extending to cover their entirety and about three meters in front of the door. Within a minute of the second one easing into place, the small lift slipped back into place, and Corporal Alex Owains stepped back into the Detention Centre.
=Corporal Alex Owains= "Everything's in place, Master Madoon. Anything else you need me for?"

Zuli nodded at Caoimhin's request..
"Indeed, young one.." He paused for a moment, before turning to look at the younger Jedi.. "That could prove advantageous. I'll be in the observation room during the interviews. Perhaps you would like to join me there?"
Barely a moment passed before Dav's response came through on the Comm. The Armored Jedi Titan turned back to the console and responded..
Affirmative Dav, I'll have room two prepped and ready before you get down here. Caoimhin has requested to attend the interview, due to his prior knowledge of the captain, so I'll have him in the observation room with me. I'll have the captain in there waiting for your arrival.."
Zuli released the Comm button and stood upright once more..
"Any insight you, or your "friend" can provide, will be of use in finding out what our visitor's true purpose of being here is.."
He used the term 'friend' loosely, obviously referring to the presence which shared Cao's mind with his consciousness. He wondered if Rutil knew about it, he'd ask later..
A minute later, Corporal Owains reappeared from the lower levels. Zuli nodded at his words..
"Very good Corporal. Have interview room two prepped for Master Man'Sell's arrival and then return to your duties. I'll prepare the observation room.."
Zuli threw a salute to the Corporal and span smartly on his heels. He walked across the room and down the corridor slightly before entering a side door. It was the observation room connected to the aforementioned Interview room. Zuli began setting up the recording and monitoring equipment ready to gather evidence from the interviews of the Cat's Paw detainees..

Kirith went to the desk, already in the process of removing her tool belt. Kneeling next the desk, her back to the rest, she began going through the movements of unlacing her large combat boots. First she unlaced her left boot, pulling it off with bit of a grunt. Next was the right boot. As she carefully unlaced it, she felt inside for the small vibroblade she kept hidden there.
As she saw it, she had two choices. One, leave the blade in the boot as a show of good faith, or try to smuggle it into the room with her. Not that the blade would do her a lot of good inside a cell, but Kirith wasn't entirely comfortable with the thought of being defenseless.
After a moment's decision, she used the action of unlacing her boot to quietly slide the blade from her boot and into her hand. As she had before, she tugged on the boot, grunting a little with the effort to move the shoe. However, she lost her balance, falling over on her side, an action that allowed her to stow the knife away in one of the tinier pockets of her overalls that she often used to store random odds and ends. "Emperor's balls," she muttered darkly, embarrassed slightly - even if the action had helped her- rubbing her arm as she righted herself. Picking up the boots, she placed them on top of the desk, then proceeded to empty all of her other pockets.
The collection was impressive. Several grease stained rags, a wrench, a few lose bolts, some clamps, a hand-sized datapad, her id card, some spare credits, and a pair of gloves. Surveying the pile, she patted herself down one more time before walking herself into the detention room.
The room wasn't all that bad, she decided, considering the circumstances. Shuffling across the floor, not bothering to watch the door shut behind her, she jumped onto the bed in the corner, and promptly leaning back into the pillow to stare at the ceiling.
Shortly after entering the room, she noticed a weird sort of emptiness, as if the room had suddenly gotten quieter, even though the jedi were still talking outside. Her ability to even feel the Other in the back of her mind seemed to ebb away and she smiled, closing her eyes, relishing in the silence.

Alex gave a small salute, and moved off to prep the room as asked. The adrenalin of the arrest fading, he felt a heavy weight, a tiredness, falling on his limbs. It had been many long hours since last he'd slept, having been up since well before the battle had started, and, by now, significantly over twenty-four hours. Perhaps, he thought, it was time he took a little rest. Tired eyes wouldn't help him shoot straight, after all.
Perhaps I'll even find some time to sit down and update my journal.
Perhaps.

Really? All of this for a beer? She was only here because Corr had sent her to keep an eye on Kirith, and it only came back to bite her in the backside. She choked back her frustration with the situation, knowing her getting angry would only get her in more trouble.
She started to empty the pockets of her cargo pants, not wanting to upset anyone else. She figured the more cooperative she was, the better. This was one time she truly wished she was force sensitive. She might have been able to at least trigger something with him to let him know she was in trouble.
Sid let out a huge sigh and unbuckled the garter holster to her blade. She slid it across the table in front of her. She looked down at her boots and rolled her eyes. She hated being shoeless... it made her feel defenseless. She reached down and unlaced her boot and yanked it off dropping it with a thud in front of her. She removed her second boot with as much ceremony, tossing them both on the table. She reached into her pockets, retrieving her emergency pack of cigarettes, quietly questioning her decision to quit right now, a lighter and from her thigh pocket her nearly empty flask.
There... that's everything.
She waited as they escorted her to her cell. She entered and cringed as the door shut. She sat on the bed and ran her hands through her hair before retying it in a braid at the back of her head.
Keep a clear head, Sid. If you can escape a Corr Vhett mission with your life, then you should be able to get out of here.
She sat back and closed her eyes, and waited. Silently.

He nodded to Zuli, then followed the Jedi Titan into the observation room.
Force, please don't let those things touch me in here.
Coward.
Cao didn't acknowledge the mental jab, instead turning to the Shi'ido Jedi. "If I may, sir, I do not believe that Kirith would have come here looking to pick a fight. That isn't to say she's entirely innocent, though. And I'm almost completely certain that the armour we found belongs to her friend, Sidara, given the fact that her name itself is Mandalorian. I'm not sure how much Mando'a Master Man'Sell understands, sir, but.. in case Sidara decides to start speaking in tongues? I'm fluent."
He allowed himself a small smile; he had never really discussed his background with anyone he had met in his travels, and Rutil only knew about his parents' murders because the Zabrak had read it off the troubled man's mind.
Their deaths made us stronger.
No. Their deaths made you.
Though it had been said scathingly, the darkness did nothing but smile..
Cao returned his attention back to Zuli. "It runs in my blood, sir. And something tells me I'm one of very few Jedi present who can speak our enemy's language."

Zuli listened intently to Cao's information. The young Jedi's insight was already proving invaluable. The Armored Jedi Titan removed his gauntlets and cloak, placing them over the back of a chair..
"That's good to know Cao, I've heard Mandalorian spoken before, but alas, I'm not a speaker. Your help will be most welcome.." Zuli smiled, patting the younger Jedi warmly on the shoulder..
Zuli turned back to the recording equipment and adjusted the focus of the video feed. All the evidence gathering equipment was almost ready. All that was left to do was bring one of the detainees to the interview room when Dav was on his way down..
Shouldn't take too long then..

The minutes ticked past. An hour struck. And passed.
It was two hours in the silence of their cells, before the Private came for Kirith. The door was opened without ceremony, and the private, flanked on one side by a single YVH-series droid. The Private tossed some binders to her.
=Private= "Please put those on."
He watched. Though he wore a blaster pistol on his belt, and his personal defence blaster carbine hung from a sling at his chest, neither hand rested on or even really near a weapon. His eyes were sharp though, and he watched her intently.

The handcuffs landed next to her on the cot, causing Kirith's eyes to open wide, her body jerking slightly with surprise. In the two hours since she had been put in the cell, she had managed to fall into a light doze at around 45 minutes in, with the lack of anything else to do to occupy her mind. She had played briefly with the idea of hiding the vibro blade in the cell somewhere in her downtime, but eventually decided against that - she wanted more time to properly hide it. As it was, she had cautiously secured the vibro blade hidden inside her pant leg to make sure it would show, or hit against the floor when she walked. Afterwards she had napped, until she was awaken by the guard.
She groaned and rubbed the sleep from her eyes, still adjusting to being awake. Sitting up, she picked up the handcuffs and began snapping them on. Walking up the bars she held her hands up to the guard, tugging them apart a little to show the handcuffs were secure.

The Private nodded, satisfied, and gestured behind him, towards the small corridor leading away from the main room.
=Private= "This way, please."
He lead her away from the cell, the YVH droid following diligently behind, and through the corridor. They turned right at the end, passing through another stretch of stone-walled passage, past two sealed off intersections, until they reached a stretch of corridor which had three doors on each side. The Private opened the first one on the right side, and gestured for her to step inside.
=Private= "In there."
The room beyond, like a great deal of the rooms within the Great Temple further up, had had the walls plated with metal, and the floor covered with ferocrete. The room was monochrome, clean, and spartan - a line of recessed lighting strips along the top of all four walls where they met the ceiling lit the room in a strong, white light. The wall to the left of the door had a single rectangular panel taking up its top half and running almost the full length, obviously a one-way transparisteel of some kind, and in the centre of the room, a simple table of polished durasteel, and two equally simple chairs, one on each side, sat as the only decoration in the room. A single, flat square shape sat embedded in the centre of the ceiling, of a darker, matte material; though lacking distinguishing featured of any kind, one versed in such things would probably realise that it contained a set of sensors for monitoring the room. Clearly, this was some kind of interview room
As soon as Kirith was ushered into the room, the door slid shut behind her, slamming with a heavy metallic sound, and clunking as a series of heavy bolts sealed it. There were no other exits or entrances to the room.
The same emptyness in the Force filled the space; just as with the cells, a Ysalamiri chamber sat directly beneath the interview room, allowing the room to be nullified if necessary. And so the room was silent. Completely so. And just slightly chilly.
Kirith was left alone again.

"Yes, Sir," Kirith said with a cheerful salute (or as much of a salute that was possible, with one's hands handcuffed together), before entering the room.
Kirith's eye for technical equipment was quick to survey the room; occasionally she had been employed by previous employers for her ability to hack into certain security devices. Although, she reasoned, that would be quite difficult right now since she had handed over her datapad to the Jedi. That hadn't worried her too much, she had little on there the Jedi may find interesting, and she had encrypted that. If the Jedi did look through her datapad, they would find a subscription to a romance serial that had been marked to have been opened and read many times. Kirith never understood the Cat's Paw fascination with romance tales of a vulgar nature, but admitted keeping around the ship's addiction on her personal data device helped mask a lot of the things on her datapad, just by sheer volume. Kirith much preferred historical non fiction, although she did enjoy the occasional crime thriller.
In her mind she pretended like she was one of those criminal masterminds, taking note of each item in the room. The dark square box on the ceiling, tinted in such a way that it would be difficult to tell without equipment where the blind spots in the room were. Kirith decided it was best to assume there were no blind spots.
She walked around the circumference of the room in her dark black socks, more to stretch her legs out then anything. When she reached what was obviously the one-way transparisteel window, she made a silly face. She couldn't tell if anyone was there, but didn't really care if there wasn't. A girl could make silly faces at herself right? Otherwise, everything would be far too serious.
That thought sobered her slightly. She guessed that Sid wasn't taking the situation well, but then again all the Mandalorians Kirith knew tended to be Far Too Serious For Their Own Good. Also, they hated being helpless. Kirith had learned long ago that it was important to find ways to adapt to any situation, and found occasionally playing the fool helped with that. You never let the other party know you were ever afraid or uncertain. Or angry for that matter - anger had it's uses, she knew, but someone who was visibly angry was often was viewed as a greater threat then a calm one. Especially with Force Users. Something about the dark side.
Kirith wasn't entirely without worry regarding the situation she was in, but she was damn well not going to let the Jedi realize that. Especially since one of them, that Cao guy, seemed to know who she was, and she was pretty sure the Other knew him too, and didn't care for him one bit. The man had certainly tried to act friendly to her, even gave her the feeling of knowing her better than that Vesten man.
But then again, she hadn't seen any sign of him in the past few years since she woke up on her ship with no memory of the previous year and a half - so surely he hadn't been that friendly.
She sighed, deciding there was no point worrying about it now. She looked to the chair, and after a moments consideration, sat down at it. Even though a part of her wanted to slide on the floor in her socks, the practical bit reminded her that sliding in her socks in handcuffs was probably not the wisest move. Besides, there was no point in letting the Jedi think she was more mad than they already did.
She sat down shivering slightly at the temperature in the room. Some Jedi hospitality, she thought darkly to herself, to leave the thermostat so low. Out loud she said, "When one of you decide you would like to get one with this, I would be much obliged if you brought me a hot chocolate. Or one of those bathrobes you guys wear, they look ever so comfortable. And warm."

Dav stood in the observation room already. He'd been there for five minutes before Kirith had been collected from her cell. Somewhere behind him, Zuli and Cao were also both present, but his attention was directed into the room. His brow was slightly furrowed in thought, his left arm crossed across his chest, right elbow rested on his left wrist, his right hand curled into a loose fist in front of his lips. He didn't move, didn't speak, didn't so much as twitch; merely stared into the room, studying Kirith, watching her as she explored the interview chamber.
Where Dav stood, closest to the transparisteel, he was just inside the field of the Ysalamiri beneath them. Zuli and Cao would both be outside of it from where they were, and they would be able to reach out, to sense what went on above them, in the Temple proper: it'd make no difference to their interview, of course, as the other Jedi could no more extend their senses into the bubble than Dav could project himself out of it. The Force was numb within it, a harrowing experience for any seasoned Jedi. Different people described the sensation in different ways, and it affected people to different degrees - Jago, as an extreme example, found the effect to be almost completely debilitating. For Dav however... well, he had once grown quite accustomed to silence within the Force, during the years just after the Battle of Endor. His connection had been numbed, and it had been some time before he'd regained it. But then again, back then, Dav hadn't been the Jedi Master he was now. He hadn't been a Master of the Force, a member of the High Council, one of the most senior Jedi of the Order. He'd barely even been himself. No, it was definitely more jarring now than it had ever been then. He felt it more now than back then.
He felt old. He felt empty, and alone. The Force's silence made him feel his years, all ninety one of them, and it made him feel the loneliness his life had often bestowed on him in the past. Everything was quieter and more distant. Colours seemed muted. Sensations faded.
But he pushed the sensation aside. Relied on his other skills, as he had been trained to, as he had needed to for those long, long months where the Force remained unerringly silent to him. He read Kirith Aridigo, her posture, her movements, the expressions and the tensions of her muscles, as if it were a datapad laying out her thoughts and feelings in simple, easy to follow blaster points; though, with all due credit to the woman, some of those points were heavily encrypted. She had control, and restraint, and by no means made it easy for him - there was something coolly disconnected about her, a dry cynicism, an adopted indifference, intermingled with a playful, almost childish affected whimsy, and together, masking a much deeper, and more thoughtful person underneath.
He'd be interested to find out what that person truly was like.
"Right, I'll get this started. Make sure we're recording everything."
He had turned his head just enough to direct the question to Zuli and Cao, and to his own ears, it sounded muted, somewhat drained. He ignored it, and turned to the door. He stopped just long enough to pick up the duffel bag there, a plain black affair, and then proceeded with it out of the door, into the corridor, and then into the interview room.
As the door slid shut behind him, he walked to the empty chair. He set the bag down beside it, and, sweeping his Greatcoat so that it didn't catch awkwardly on the back of the seat, sat within it, his face the painted mask of neutrality. He leant forward, his hands coming together before him on the table top, and he just looked at Kirith for a long, and silent moment.
Finally, he spoke.
"Hello, Captain Aridigo."

Kirith had to fight the urge to make a face at the Jedi as he sat there for a long moment. She had seen power plays like that before, and knew it was best not to look away first. That betrayed a certain level of weakness (or guilt) she wasn't prepared to show yet. Not until she got to know the man a bit better.
"Good day, Monsieur Jedi," she replied with a bow of her head. Her dark eyes flicked over the gentleman in front of her, Never one for fashion, she nevertheless felt a tinge of envy for the sweeping Greatcoat. It had a bit of a flare that she found she approved of, and with all the pockets a bit more practical that the robes the Jedi usually wore. Dark hair, dark intense eyes, every movement he made seemed to have some amount of purpose and control in it. This man wasn't an amateur, she was certain of that. She would have to be careful.
She leaned back in her chair, resting her cuffed hands behind her head in a relaxed pose. "I would offer you some tea and cakes, but alas I seem to be out at the moment. Still, I'm delighted you've decided to visit. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
