*Syren's nostrils flared as she caught scent of the various foods. She carefully reached out for a jerky-like substance, sniffed it before dropping into a seated position, then proceeded with consuming it with rationed gusto.
She raised an eyebrow at the scientific commentary. She had known a couple of scientists, and while engaged in their studies of preference, she had not known many to be so single-minded in their pursuits to ignore explosions and such. Perhaps the Mandalorian variety was different, but still odd.* "What has your literature search showed you about Force user physiology from the Holonet so far?"
*Syren reached for a fruit that smelled like it had a high water ratio.* "Also, you guys would not have seen anything having to do with that explosion while you were searching for random Force users so far from the Jedi temple and academy?" *She raised her eyebrow again, he suspicious nature and wits coming back with the nutrients.*

*Atton was beginning to feel just slightly impatient. Sitting here discussing scientific progress was all well and good, but he couldn't ignore the explosion and the crazy people with blasters. Besides, Atton was no scientist and even if he wasn't officially with the Jedi Order anymore(due to still being listed as MIA, probably), he couldn't ignore this. Despite everything that had gone on in his life lately, he was still a Jedi Knight, and no Jedi worth his salt sat out during a crisis. What exactly had possessed him to come and talk to this stranger while all that chaos was still happening in the first place currently eluded him...
He sighed and crossed his arms.*"Do I look like a scientist to you? You think I found my lightsabers just lying around somewhere? Look, I don't give a damn about your research or any of that, not while there's a big, fiery hole in the city filled with armed crazies."*He got up and started briskly walking for the exit.*"You wanted to talk, we talked. I'm done here."

Das did the hand waving motion again.
-Das The Imperium net has next to no confirmed Force information. The general net is even worse. So many people arguing about the Force & not one of the confirmed as ever even seeing a Force user, let alone testing their ideas.
When questioned about his search, he actually blushed, which clearly showed up in the projection of his face.
-Das Well, ah, to be honest. I wasn't exactly searching for Force users at that particular moment. I was kinda looking for a pub.
As the male got up & started for the door, Das started to panic. Getting up & sort of waddling after the Jedi, he tried to beat him to the door.
-Das Wait! Wait! What if I help you figure out this whatever it is? Would you thing about helping me out? I'm not much good in a fight, but my stun gear is top notch & some of the other researchers here specialize in other fields & could help with tracking them down. I think Disco does some kind of computer jiggery.

*The actions of the man put Syren somewhat more at ease to at least his motivations. This one at least did not seem to be the source of angst in the city of Coronet. She finished slurping up her fruit. When that was cleared away, she breathed out, letting her mind and the Force reach down to the tips of her toes running a diagnostic on her injuries. Her energy was still on the lowside after the quick usage of the Force to stay alive, and rest would still be the best for her. However, there was something going on in the city, and that was not to be ignored.
She checked her belt for the nutrient paste that was usually housed there for emergencies. She read the tiny print carefully to see that it had indeed expired. She sighed then grabbed another piece of fruit.
She then stood in one fluid motion, wincing at the blaster burn on her bicep. Never had she wished more that she had not left her reek hide long coat in the temple before this outing. She dug around in her belt for a piece of synth skin and slapped it to the burn, took a bite of the new fruit, and headed after Atton and Das Mandolorian the Science Guy.*
"Atton, you said you felt a dark presence. Were you able to detect where it was coming from?"
*She paused momentarily before also adding,* "Those blasters came out rather conveniently. Do you think they were also looking for Jedi, or just happened to want no witnesses as they were leaving?"

*Atton stopped as the guy seemingly panicked at the prospect of him leaving. Evidently, his research was very important, not that it made Atton trust the guy any more. Although maybe his opinion was starting to change when he offered his assistance in tracking down the culprits behind the explosion. And those stun grenades or whatever he had thrown earlier seemed quite handy.
He turned to Syren.*"I'm not sure exactly. It couldn't have been more than a few blocks away at least. Of course with all the time we've wasted here, he's probably already skipped town."*He turned to the Science Guy.*"If you're gonna help, then stay back and don't get in the way. If there's a Dark Jedi out there, he or she probably won't hesitate to stick you with a lightsaber."

Das blanched at the thought of being stabbed.
-Das Err... I don't think this suit is rated for lightsabres.
He very quickly returned to his seemingly standard single minded focus.
-Das So do you need help with the tracking? Were you planning on using an aspect of the Force? Can I hook up a few small sensors?

*Syren snorted.* "Das, is it? Go find your pub, then in the morning, there's an academy full of Jedi with a hospital to boot who would be giddy with the anticipation of having you monitor them for all of the physiological intricacies of the Force. There is an initiate there who is doing a thesis on Medichlorians and loves to chat your ear off on the subject. Unfortunately, the city seems to be under attack, and the adults have to go play kick the sithspit out of someone most likely deserving of it."
*She reached up to clap Atton on the shoulder.* "I got your back, though I'm still a bit off from that explosion. My ears don't ring anymore, and I can walk in a relatively straight line. You want me with you, or am I best out of your way and going to rouse someone with clout over at the Temple?"

*Atton probably couldn't have said that better himself, and he found himself smiling. About time someone said something that made sense. Then again, why hadn't he thought of that earlier? There was an academy here, come to think of it, so why wasn't Mr. Science Guy over there instead?
Anyways, back to the task at hand. Atton didn't exactly have a set plan for getting to the bottom of all of this chaos, but then again, he usually preferred to improvise anyway. Having Syren to watch his back would help, since making something up as one went was always a surefire way to get in trouble.*"I'd feel a little better if you watched my back. Two lightsabers are better than one." *Smirking at her, he headed for the exit, walking quickly back towards the sounds of the chaos within the city.*

Dastuk looked disappointed for a moment, but then brightened again. Manda had delivered the perfect test subjects to him & he wasn't about to let them walk right out again. Especially due to the cold treatment he had already gotten from the gate guards at the temple. He wasn't sure if it was a temple policy or just a biased guard, but at the very least if he helped these two, they might be able to make introductions for him. From the sound of it, the Jedi were having trouble tracking someone or some group. He had just the perfect little toy for that, though he hadn't expected to get to use them on this deployment. Pulling up the HUD interlinks, he remotely activated the quartet of M1s still packed away in the back room. The nice thing about the drone shipping boxes is that they could be opened from the inside by the drones themselves.
With a whispered hum, the quartet floated up on their repulsors & drifted out into the room, coming to a halt in a diamond formation just above Das' head. Each was identical, with a heavy repulsor pad along the bottom & shelled drone brain with a cluster of sensors at the rear. The drones were fairly small, only a meter or so long. The most striking feature was a much larger collection of sensors at the nose of the drone.
-Das These are my bloodhounds. The sensor module on the front is based on the technology used in the old Imperial Bio-Hound. Give it a gene sample, even as little as a hair or skin flake, & it will track down the subject. Or they can be used to backtrack the target to see where they have been. They don't have any weapons though, so it will be up to you two once the person is found. Still think I should go get that drink?

*Syren shrugged. Technology was occasionally superior to the Force. She probably could have gone back to one of the fallen men in the alley and attempted some psychometry, but it was often imprecise and only worked a handful of times she had attempted to utilize the skill. But at what cost would the help from this Mandolorian really be? They needed to set terms if they were going to take the offer of technology, but they also did not have time to negotiate.* "Well, you cannot have my blood or DNA via my permission, but if you stay out of the way and understand that you are on your own if we encounter another Force user, you are free to observe."
*She paused and shook her main of green hair. "But do know, while I will attempt to keep your toys safe, my duty is to Corellia and whichever form the Galactic Republic has taken this century, not to the Mandolorian Empire. Savvy?"
*She made her way after Atton. Pausing at the doorway to check for anyone in the streets.

*Atton paused at the doorway as well, carefully scanning the streets. CorSec had likely evacuated the immediate area, and had probably also set up a perimeter. He could hear the sirens in the distance and the smoke from the fires caused by the explosion were quite visible. But here, it was quiet.
A little too quiet...*"I think we've been followed..."*One hand went to one of the lightsabers on his belt as he sensed the hostile presences closing in.*"You feel that?"

Das nodded, a little bit of help here & hopefully they would open some doors for him. He looked completely unworried about any threats his machines might face.
-Das This wouldn't be the first time I've been in danger. As for my toys, they aren't that hard to replace. Toys are made to be broken after all. Er... I don't think there is a Mandalorian Empire right now. Or a galactic republic for that matter.
At the mention of being followed, Das blanched. There was a sharp twist of motion & then he began talking. However, he seemed to have turned off his speakers as there was no sound. A good enough lip reader would be able to tell what he was saying from the facial hologram he was projecting still.
-Das Disco, I need a parameter check. A short pause. No, not in five minutes. I need it NOW. Another pause. Please tell me you are joking. A very short pause. Kriff me.
There was another twist as Dastuk turned his speakers back on.
-Das Seems a chunk of the local power grid is out, & it took the entire north side of our parameter surveillance with it. Could be random chance, could be deliberate.
As he was speaking, another pair of the M1 drones raced from the back room & out the open door. Once clear of the door, they cut nearly a ninety degree turn toward the sky, racing upward like a pair of surface to air missiles. They were only visible for a moment, but a watchful jedi would be able to spot that the nose part had been changed out for a different set of sensors. They wouldn't go very far up, just enough to clear the local buildings & get a good bird's eye view of the blacked out area. With their small size & baffling it would be next to impossible for even small sensor emplacements to spot them, let alone target them.

*Syren nodded towards Atton as she reached for her lightsaber. She was not paying Das or the sensors much attention as she peeked around a crack in the door. She did not expand her senses, lesson learned several hours before when the explosion first occurred.
Everything smelled like fire and spaceport grease, but through the Force there was a tiny tingle of darkness out there. *
"A warehouse full of meddlesome mercenaries and at least two wannabe Jedi. If this weren't so annoying, it would be almost cute. But, what can you do when you try to steal a planet housing an academy of goody-two-shoes?"
*Syren gazed out at the street to see a figure walk slowly out of an alleyway beyond flanked by a cadre of guards, heavily armed and fortified with personal shields. Crisp suit and tie suited for a businessman more so than a planet thief, the man struck a confident pose near the alley way. He was tall, with fair white skin and white hair. Syren could not quite make out his eyes through the glasses he wore, but if she were to guess his species, she would be more likely to bet on Umbaran, Echani, or Arkanian before picking normal human.
Syren glanced back over at Atton, "Got any pasty pissants in your memory that match this guy?"

*A Dark Jedi in a full business suit? Atton had seen his share of outlandish things and fought vicious dark siders, but not a single one of them had ever donned a business suit. There was no mistaking the dark side aura surrounding him, but that would be the only indication of his true nature. Anyone else surely would have been fooled...
He scowled.*"Nope. This is a new one...they always bring flunkies, too. This ought to be fun..."

Das wasn't entirely certain what was going on, but he had a feeling the man outside was hostile. One of his grenades was still ready to go, but the other one was still charging. He slipped his stun pistol out of the holster & kept it low by his leg. He was a fairly poor shot, but at least the weapon couldn't be bounced by lightsabres. For the moment he was going to stay out of the way & try not to start anything. A quick message to the others in the office spread the word of a possible fight, but Disco was already rousing the others.

::Linos Lethe:: "You know what the Jedi lack?" *The man in the business suit took a step closer to the warehouse. His minions had fanned out, some heading to the sides of the building, some continuing to flank their leader. He reached out his hand towards Syren, drawing on the Force to pull her out of the warehouse and straight towards his outstretched hand.* "Style, showmanship, all that jazz."
*His hand clamped tightly around Syren's throat, but instead of crushing her wind pipe, a strange red and purple glow began to grow around the two. Dark lines began to snake up the side of Syren's face and her body spasmed violently enough that her lightsabers fell from her fingers.
He smiled at Syren, then proclaimed,* "You could do so much more with this world. But you just limit yourselves to tinkering on the sidelines."
*He paused again before saying, "Pity."

Coronet Spaceport
Once they have set the Geheim Masjien down in the landing bay assigned to it, Fumnanya stands and stretches, asking his co-pilot, "I handle the inspection, you handle the post-flight?"
Nodding, the red haired Shownarri readjusts the purple band in her hair, "Have fun with that."
Snorting a laugh, Fumnanya makes his way aft and, hitting the control to lower the YT-2400's boarding ramp, makes his way down and looks around for any sign that they will be undergoing the inspection their helpful orbital traffic controller had mentioned might be possible.
In the light freighter's primary cargo hold, containing neatly arranged crates and barrels that have just been dusted off, Nkosana, the crew's slicer, takes a glance around to try and see everything as an inspection team would, and, moving to rearrange the straps securing a few of the crates, asks, "Think the Cap' will give us some leave? I was hoping to hit the Blue Sector . . ."
Sango, the ship's medic and chef, scratches behind a furry ear as he interrupts the gangly Nish to ask, "Are you sure that's a good idea? After what happened on Zeltros . . ."
Lifting his hands to ward off the Bothan's concerns, Nkosana says, "Yeah, that was not cool, I realize that, I own it and all, but you don't have to worry about a repeat performance, alright? I know my limits, and I'll be . . ."
"Not up to me anyway," Sango reminds the Nish with a waerily resigned sigh, history suggesting that Fumnanya will not keep Nkosana from pursuing his vices.

Another Dark Jedi here to spout a bunch of crap about how weak the Jedi were and the superiority of the Dark Side and all the same tired BS that Atton had heard from so many others before. Nothing was worse than a dark sider with a fondness for lecturing. However, any sardonic reply died on his lips as Syren was seized and began to spasm in his grip.
Atton shot his left hand out and sent a Force Push at the suit-clad figure, while simultaneously drawing his lightsaber with his other hand, preparing to deflect any shots that came his way. He wasn't sure what the hell this guy was doing to Syren, but he had to try and stop it.*

Coronet Starport
A pair of Corsec agents - both more than a little twitchy due to the news of a recent explosion in Coronet as well as the possibly related ongoing blaster fight between CorSec and as yet to be identified assailants that has been rumored to also involve a third party that may or may not have Force users among its number - approaches the recently arrived light freighter, an artoo unit equipped with law enforcement grade sensor equipment rolling along behind them.
The taller and heftier of the two CorSec agents, a vanilla-scented Kitonak named Takoda, lifts a pudgy hand slowly as he greets Fumnanya unhurriedly in a slow drawl, "Captain Jang, I presume?"
The smaller of the two CorSec agents, a humanoid female native to Corellia named Paola Riccini, knowing that if Takoda takes lead on the inspection it could last several hours, steps forward to keep things moving briskly, taking a datapad from a pouch on her hip as she tells Jang at a rapid-fire clip indicative of a high caffeine intake, "We need your identification documents, those of all members of your crew, and your cargo manifest. Indicating the R2 unit without pausing to give Jang a chance to reply to anything Takoda or she has said yet, Paola adds, Then we'll need to come aboard to scan your ship. With no more pause than before, she rattles off a series of questions, Where are you coming from, what are you carrying, and what is the nature of your business here in Coronet?"

Das wasn't really well trained or equipped for fighting intelligent beings. On top of that, he wasn't very sure what effect his stun grenade would have on the already weaken woman. What he did have was a trio of somewhat durable & rather fast flying chunks of durasteel. It was a trick he had pulled with a few other pack hunters. He wasn't too sure how well it would work here, but it was worth a shot. Selecting the two figures =the furthest to his left, he ordered two of the M1 drones forward at full speed. There was a sudden rush of air as the two drones roared up to full speed, aiming straight for the chests of each of the selected targets. They would be difficult for most humanoid to dodge in time & would pack a punch like getting run over by a small speederbike. Even the most advanced shields had trouble with high kinetic strikes. On the other hand, the tracking sensors would need some serious repair & readjustment before they could be used properly again.
