Having rent an apartment, somewhat suitable for her position, as people expected her to somewhat live her status as a senator, Linuy Findos was standing atop a balcony, while mustering the city skyline in front of her. To some portion it was odd how much different the bustling trading center of Corellia felt, compared towards the rich and prosperous bridge cities of Neimoidia, where she was raised and the maritime feeling of the Mon Calamari cities during her time in exile on Dac. Of course it was to be expected as the universe offered millions of different planets, with each featuring its own unique culture and atmosphere - yet the Neimoidian felt like a foreigner, stranded among people with equal interests. Those from the Galactic Alliance, who fled with them to Corellia probably felt now the same way as herself. With a sigh she went inside the small living room, a clean, sterile white room, where she sat down to drink at least a cup of tea in order to calm herself down. Thanking the service droid, who prepared it, she took a sip, once she sat down, while trying to think what could be done next.
Not only was the Galactic Alliance's fleet decimated by a lot, but also has the First Order grown tremendously. And the largest faction, which so far supported the Jedi Order in resistance to the oppression by the new generation of Imperials and Sith, has fallen. It had failed like the Galactic Republic of old days did. Thus the question of how to proceed was even more urgent. If history would continiue the way it does for the moment, Corellia and the worlds allied with it would be to fall next. The sheer tremendous size of the First Order's fleet could be compared to a mechanical leviathan - and Findos suspected that it was probably larger than what they saw at Dac. Thus, if the Empire was about to strike back upon the refugees and those, who supported them, there was still a chance that they would erredicate the last major free galactic gouvernment outside of their controll once and for all. On the other hand, if lessons could be learnt from history, there was always hope to form a resistance. A neutral way to ensure that the oppression of the First Order was fought back without endangering Corellia. Yet, it still beared an even greater risk, as Linuy neither knew where to begin here. First of all they needed men. A lot of men to accomplish the job of harrassing the First Order efficently enough in order for more men to join their cause. Only then there was hope for a movement with the ideals of the Rebell Alliance to form once again. Furthermore they needed a base of operations. And all Linuy had for now was the Spark of Nen, a Majestic-class cruiser. Not a bad start, but they needed more if they wanted to maintain the fight.
Thus, it was hard to decide which way was the best to go. For the moment at least.

+Fifteen hours after arrival in Corellia System+ Lynne held onto the handles as the shuttle she was in. As the shuttle entered atmosphere, it shook causing the doctors abored to hold on tighter, but Major Tethras and her commandos seemed to relax, the rough ride was more their speed. Lynne made her way over to the Major.
=Lynne= Daisy, how has coordination gone on the ground?
=Merril= Commander Tallus really set us up, he got us restocked on med supplies, which we of course loaded up on the earlier flights down to the surface. Most of the med-staff has already set up a presence in the primary refugee camp. We're the last ones down. My marines and the gunners are working as security, and those of the crew that are down there are finding jobs and more permanent housing for the refugees.
=Lynne= Good work, Major... and thank you for all your work getting everyone mobilized down there.
=Merril= Well, the only people who aren't joining us in the camp are our stubborn engineers, who 'won't trust no common mechanics with their girl'. But every last one of these people are going down here, leaving the only home many of us have left, because you are. Because you will be their, rolling up your sleeves and working like you always do.
Lynne blushed a bit as she moved away. She had been doubting her leadership since the battle of Mon Cala. It was humbling to hear those under her command talk about her like that. And also it reminded her of the Baron's words. It made her straighten herself out and though she was only in her casual clothing, she stood like she wore her dress fatigues.
Once on the ground, Lynne got right to work. Her skills as a ships captain and a surgeon made her an almost perfect person to run the refugee camp. Though she and her staff were stretched more thin than any situation they had encountered on the Endless Salvation they found creative solutions. Most of Major Tethras's marines were needed to protect food and medical supplies leaving only the ships gunners to patrol the camp. This would have normally been seen as a sign of weakness of the new government, but the work and dedication Lynne and her grew put into the camp seemed to keep much of the usual unrest at bay. Every person there knew, Dr. Jameroo was doing everything in her power to help them. But it was not without consequence as the doctor stretched herself ever thinner and pushed herself even harder to help those in need. Days would pass before Lynne would lay down for a rest. But she pushed ever onward, wanting to show those in the Coalition government that she was not one to shy away from a challenge.

A hovercar awaited Graemon and Lynne, a driver had the door open for the two as they entered the backseat and soon, they were off and away from the Capitol Tower. With directions from the Baron, the hovercraft drives into the traffic of Coronet City as the nightlife began and the city was illuminated with millions of lights. Strange that this city seemed so lively and undisturbed by the galaxy at large, yet it gave comfort to many and would be the shining symbol of the Coalition. A new symbol for democracy, freedom, and the principles that made the Republic and others before.
The hovercar remained suspended for a bit before descending towards a district directly below them. The vehicle pulled up to the bar that Graemon tended to visit called Twenty and Four Stars, a reference to the twenty-four systems that made up the Corellian Sector. He exits his car with Lynne, making his way inside where the host seemed to recognize him immediately.
Representative Gorgano, good to see you back! Your usual company?
Graemon glances at Lynne and shakes his head.
Not this time, Lon. Different company, but a nice change of things than the usual.
The host nods his head and proceeds to bring the pair to an area close to the bar. Corellian music was being played by a band nearby and the atmosphere was chill and calm. The rush hour of the dinner patrons before was gone, replaced with the tranquil mood of the present.

The view of the shining city from a hovercar always dazzled Lynne. She loved how the spires rose up like fingers reaching for the sky that nearly every Corellian longed to explore and rule from a cockpit. The young woman would occasionally steal a look at Graemon as they traveled, but only for a moment at a time. She felt her heart start to flutter with anticipation as the car began it's decent to the bar. One she had only been to once. With her fellow Med School classmates after graduation. When the troubles of the galaxy seemed so less important than what was happening in their lives. Lynne would never have believed she would have been a captain of a military medical frigate, taking part in the last battles of a dying Alliance. Only to be here now walking into a bar with a Baron of Fondor.
Giving a grateful smile to the host, she followed to a table. As the host left, Lynne's smile wavered slightly as she looked around the place. She had gone straight to Graemon's office from her work in the camps. She felt slightly under-dressed, and not at all done-up enough for this establishment.
=Lynne= Well, I must say I would have cleaned up a bit more if I knew we were coming here.

Graemon chuckles at her remark, understanding how she felt. If people looked at the two of them, they would see a Doctor in her standard white and black outfit sitting with a well-dressed nobleman of the Tapani Sector. However, the Fondorian didn't mind it. As he said before to the host, a nice change of things.
Would you have rather I taken us to High Corell? I would have made you feel even more underdressed.
High Corell was one of the top places within Corellia for those with high standards of living and the means to keep it so.
Graemon knew it was a rhetorical question, but he didn't want Lynne feeling out of place. Surprisingly, they were meant to have fun and relax after all. Two words that many wouldn't associate with the Baron, given his rather stalwart appearance and iron-handed manners. As he scans a menu, his ears catch the sound of a holonews report. It was speaking of the present issues being tackled by the Coalition and Interim Prime Minister Delpin. It made him think of a topic for the two of them. Perhaps something to ease the Doctor's embarrassment for how she was dressed for this place.
Tell me, Lynne, what made you become a doctor?

The color seemed to drain from Lynnes already pale face as Graemon threatened to take her to the richest part of Corellia. Shaking her head slowly before beginning to chuckle both at the thought of her dressed like this in High Corell and her over reaction to the thought. But she slowed down and became thoughtful as the Baron asked her his question. She pondered for a moment and gave a statement almost as simple as it comes.
=Lynne= I wanted to help people. Save them. I could have been CorSec or another emergency responder, but I never liked the thought of putting myself in danger... Until Naboo, then I had to do something, something bigger than myself and Corellia. Which may be strange since I always liked war-games and strategy games. It's what helped my earn a ship, though a primarily non-combat vessel. But now I've fought in many battles, killed people myself, sent others to die. Things I never thought I would do, or be able to.
She trailed off as she started thinking about the past years. And how it had all gone by in a whirlwind of violence and blood. She sighed and pushed those negative thoughts to the side. She'd be damned if she let them get in the way of enjoying this dinner with the Baron. Then gesturing vaguely around she asked a question in return.
=Lynne= And what about you? What did you do before all this started.

Naboo... the world that changed everything in the galaxy. He had read the reports; the bombardment of Theed Palace, the use of chemical weapons by the First Order, the fleet battle overhead. It was a nightmare for those people. He even read the reports of the Emperor agreeing to ban on the usage of such weapons as a clause in the Treaty of Manaan with rumors that the very commander that unleashed the agents on the planet was executed by the First Order's leader. Whatever the case, Naboo changed everything. And that change would resonate for many years to come.
Naboo changed everything... the galaxy woke up, but it was too late for the Galactic Alliance.
Her own question came as a broad one, but one that Graemon could easily answer though.
I served in the navy of the former Republic. A commanding officer of a fleet detachment, Pertinax Command, within the Republic Core Fleets. When Coruscant was hit and the Republic fell, everything just fell apart... the fleet sought to use the Deep Core as a means to stay away from the aggressors and move towards the friendly spaces of Corellia and Fondor. We were ambushed just as we passed Foerost...
Graemon fell silent for a moment, contemplating on that day. The Fondorian always had a stonecold face, but this time, it seemed different. It seemed like his mind was reflecting on all the memories that were associated with that moment in which the Core Fleets were totally annihilated.
The Core Fleets scattered and were systemically destroyed as we ran. The Deep Core is an Imperial stronghold, something we had not anticipated nor known beforehand. My fleet was able to limp to Corellia though. I still don't know what happened to those who escaped.
Graemon then attempted to change the mood, leaning back in his seat as a waiter brought them water and bread.
From Corellia, I headed to join the Galactic Alliance, then came home to Fondor, seeking to make a difference in the galaxy.

Lynne listened to Graemon's story. As his face changed from its usual stony expression to a more pensive one, she put down the bread she was eating and reached across the table. Taking his hand in hers, she stroked it gently with her thumb. The Corellian looked at him with an understanding look. She was a talented doctor and surgeon, but their were some that she could not save, even on the operating table or in a bacta tank. Once he seemed to recover she took her hand back and went back to her bread and water. Smiling up at him she replied to his last statement.
=Lynne= You already have. You are an accomplished leader, not to mention forming a brand new intergalactic government. You have certainly made a difference and, to paraphrase one of this planets most famous sons, "left it a little tidier than you found it."

The gesture from Lynne had been rather unexpected. For all his life, Graemon had known the feel of a rifle and the controls of a starfighter. The touch of the Doctor's hand was something that he had never felt before... a gentle and warm touch. Her thumb lightly rubbed his skin causing Graemon to stare at the joined hands for a moment longer than expected. Once it retreated across the table, his own hands regained their composure and proceeded to pick up some bread that had been left for them. He looks to see Lynne smiling.
I cannot take all the credit. His Excellency, Marcus Starmane, Diktat Delpin, and many others have contributed to the formation of this government. All of them gave their contributions and ensured the rise of the Coalition... in all honesty, I just knew I was acting on the right timing.
Graemon grins slightly before eating some of the bread.
The Coalition needs everyone and their talents. We are fortunate to have everyone who has joined us. We have our military minds in Admiral Hargrave and Jacques Hu, Politicians like Marcus Starmane and Linuy Findos, and people of medicine like yourself. Everyone comes together to make the Coalition.
After a moment, the Fondorian slowly moves his hand forward to touch hers. His gesture was that of a personal thank you. It had been hard to witness his comrades die within their ships or vanish into hyperspace, to destinations unknown. It was her job to be a comfort to those in pain, but her gesture had been rather kind and unexpected, but it was not denied.
Thank you for listening. I haven't spoken to many about those events... not because I don't want to talk about them, but because... what can you say about it. War can harden a person, but it is good to see that even small gestures can soften the heart and lighten the spirit. It's not easy to find time like this to relax... with good company beside each other.
Tonight had put Graemon in a very good mood. Something he needed after all this time.

Smiling and blushing wildly, Lynne held onto Graemon's hand. She hadn't expected him to reach back out to her. It may have not meant what she hoped it to, but she was not one to back away from a good thing when it is offered. In fact, she often went out of her way to find them.
=Lynne= I'm happy to help. I'm trying my best to not let myself get to a point where I feel like I can't open up. It's important to be able to talk to people and let things off your chest.

Graemon retreats his hand and chuckles lightly.
There's a reason why you are a doctor. That's plainly obvious.
Eventually, the waiter got their orders and soon, Graemon saw himself looking at a holonews report that was being displayed nearby over the bar. The elections were fast approaching and the Coalition was still forming itself. There was much to do and the news media was getting it all known. They were even speculating candidates for the title of Prime Minister of the Coalition, with one of them being Graemon himself. He turns away to look back at Lynne.
Lynne, a question if I might, where do you think the Coalition should go from here? What should we do first and foremost?
Graemon decided he wanted to hear the opinion of an uninvolved person in terms of what they view the Coalition should do. The politicians voiced various ideas, but perhaps some outside and fresh opinions could help.

Lynne was shocked for a moment as she was asked what the next steps of the Coalition should be. Especially a man who very well may be the first elected Prime Minister of the Coalition. She wasn't a politician or a sociologist. But she was a doctor, captain, and strategy game enthusiast, so who knows? Pausing and thinking, she spoke slowly, trying to make her thoughts as clear as possible.
=Lynne= Well, if we want to view the Coalition as a living organism, ideally we have to make sure its 'immune system' is strong enough to handle being exposed to the outside world first. From a captains perspective, if the Coalition is a ship, your crew needs to be trained and loyal, we can't have any doubts about the course we are setting. And from my limited experience from some of my strategy games, you need to shore up the home front first, make sure the people are with you and you have a solid foundation to stand on, especially against such a huge opponent as the First Order. Sighing and shrugging as she finished, I don't know if that made any sense to you, but that's where I think we should go. Make sure the Coalition is internally as strong as possible before looking to expand or pick any fights.
She started blushing again as she felt like a child spouting domestic and foreign policy made up on the fly to a board of Professors in the field. I guess this is how the Miss Corellia contestants feel when asked how to solve all the worlds problems in 30 seconds or less.

Graemon eats some bread quietly, contemplating the words that Doctor Jameroo said. Focus internally was her exact words, something that the Fondorian had planned all along. After all, the meeting from before the two met was speaking with various politicians and representatives of the security forces that were a part of the Coalition now. He believed that the Coalition needed internal and external defenses against the rising Imperialism that was just beyond their borders now. A means to combat terrorists, sympathizers, and collaborators while still maintaining the peace on the homeworlds of the Coalition.
We think alike then, Doctor. Before you arrived, I was discussing with members of the Coalition's Senate and representatives of the various security forces across Coalition space in an effort to garner support for my security measure. A means to great an umbrella organization, behold to the civilian government, that would seek to secure the home front against any possible internal threats while also having departments in intelligence gathering and establishing spy networks to keep a vigilant eye on both the Coalition and beyond her borders.
Security Measure G-71 was the article in question. The "Establishment of C-Sec, Coalition Security Force, for the betterment of the Coalition" as the title read upon the formal documents. Graemon had tried such a measure with the Galactic Alliance and had it approved, but the Alliance fell months later, before the organization could get off its feet. Now was the time to try again, especially after the elections.
Our homes need to be secured against the rising Imperialism after all.

Lynne made a face of one who was just forced to drink some blue milk that had turned bad. But it quickly faded as she thought for moment. Realizing that her first reaction had not just been internal, she started to explain.
=Lynne= I'm sorry, it's just that my grandparents told me horrible stories about the GAG. At first that's what it sounds like you are doing. Before I joined the navy, I probably would have slapped you across the face and stormed out. But my time in the service has taught me that such measures in wartime are necessary and will often save lives. Faulty intelligence can get an whole fleet whipped out. And I suppose you aren't one to betray democracy like Jacon did. I'm going to warn you now though, you will get a lot of push back from the older Corellians. But I hope it doesn't interfere with us helping those seeking asylum on our worlds. I'd risk a lot of ships to help those civilians who never asked for the war and the one to follow.

Graemon stops chewing on the bread, looking at Lynne quietly as she spoke. He understood her fear, he knew that this fear was shared with many others that he had spoken with. Troubling times called for firm measures and decisive action though. They needed to protect themselves more than ever with the Galactic Alliance gone and the Empire seemingly unstoppable.
The difference between this C-Sec and GAG is that the C-Sec will be beholden to the civilian government. It will serve within the lines of the constitution and not seek to step over them. The GAG had no strings attached and was a secret police force, which C-Sec is not, that eventually became more of a bodyguard and strong arm of a Sith Lord who aspired to rule the galaxy through his own vision. I am neither of those and simply wish to give the people peace of mind.
Graemon leans forward, pointing directly at his eyes.
I will say this to you, Lynne. As I have said to others, I seek to preserve democracy and I will do anything to do so. C-Sec is a means to help preserve it. The politicians protect it through the public offices they serve, the navy and military protect it at the front lines, and so C-Sec will protect it from every possible hole that a spy or a traitor can slip through. One mistake and the Coalition could fall apart... and I do not want to see that happen.
He leans back after speaking.
This will not disrupt the refugees nor the aid they have been promised. They have already been cleared after all.

=Lynne= Well, that's a relief to here. And don't get me wrong, I appreciate what you are doing. Hell, I support it as long as it stays on the leash of the civilian government.
Lynne paused, she felt like she had put her foot in her mouth on this one. She looked down at her food, but glanced up at Graemon, hoping her cuteness would win her back some points.

Graemon hears Lynne's words, understanding her opinion. There were others that certainly agreed with that stance, something that Graemon had come to accept ever since the measure was put to the Senate and the Coalition's Defense Committee. The Fondorian looks up as their waiter comes over, setting down their dinner and drinks for the night. Once he had left, the Baron looks at the female.
I appreciate the honesty of your words. I would rather be given blunt honesty than honeyed phrases.
He looks down at his plate before his gaze found itself on Lynne again.
I intend to work for the civilian government and for its benefit. I do not seek my own power with this measure, but just to have the means to protect what I helped create. Fondor is better with the Coalition after all and not fighting alone.

=Lynne= Well, blunt is one thing that I am very good at, if you haven't noticed. I was unpopular at the hospital when bad news need to be delivered.

Graemon could only imagine the situations that Lynne put herself in given her blunt honesty.
Probably explains why you are more on the field rather than confined to a hospital.
The Fondorian chuckles lightly as he cuts into his meal and eats some of it. Her compliment made his gaze return to her though.
Thank you. I try my best to be good. The military can harden someone, but I am no longer in the military and I am interacting with more civilians now. So I have to learn to loosen my rigidness and be more open when I can. You are also a wonderful person, your dedication to the people is to be admired.
