[action]In response to the Fallanassi's query, the Intendant blinked once in mild surprise. Reaching up to the side of his head, he slipped his index digit into his ear and began to work it around, certain he had misheard the woman's strange line of questioning. A second later and he withdrew the finger, now tipped with a small ball of wax. He flicked it away before crossing his arms and bending his neck forwards. His brow lifted with his gaze, fixing Major with his own version of bemusement.[/action]

"Aye, we do. Our method of reproduction is practically identical to that of most mammalian species; however, we take a far more practical approach in the spreading of seed. We breed not for pleasure, but to fill the ranks of our respective domains. In the aftermath of our failed invasion of this galaxy, efforts were made to increase our population, filling the void left by the billions of Yuuzhan Vong who died during the war or committed suicide after our surrender. A mass-fucking, if you will. I myself sired thirteen sons and seven daughters, all destined to serve as future intendants of Domain Yin." [action]He said the last part almost with a hint of pride.[/action] "You see, we mate only among our caste to preserve the purity of our blood lines. Any child baring imperfections or deformities are immediately put to death. The surviving children are then raised in caste-specific crèches."

[narration]It spoke to the detached emotional state of the Yuuzhan Vong race. They weren't born into loving families, but rather were bred to strengthen their domain and caste. What Nem had said was true. Somewhere out there were twenty children possessing his distinct genetic markers.[/narration]

"Perhaps one day I will meet some of them." [action]He shrugged.[/action] "If I live long enough to do so, and if they prove themselves useful to me. Regardless, I have more than contributed to the physical requirements of breeding the next generation. After I gave life to the last one, I took my coufee..." [action]He patted the sheath on the left side of his hip.[/action] "...and sawed off my reproductive organs. I no longer had need of them and it presented an opportunity to elevate my position through escalation. In its place I have surgically grafted one of our native animals." [action]He put up his hands, palms facing each other but spread a head length apart.[/action] "A scale covered creature with fangs that spit poison. It was irritating at first as the serpent kept attempting to bite my thighs, but eventually it was tamed." [action]He nodded appreciatively as he recalled the memory.[/action] "A worthy trade. I was not overly attached to the reproductive organs anyways. Like most of my body parts, they too had not always belonged to me."

[narration]Now he was rambling.[/narration] [action]Aware of this as he was, Nem tried to turn the conversation back on the Fallanassi.[/action]

"What of you, any little infidels scurrying about your knees? My guess would be no. You don't have the hips for it. Too lanky. Not enough meat on those bones."
