Vasari flushed a little in embarrassment, she wasn't a teacher - in point of fact she had spent her entire life hiding the fact that she knew anything at all - let alone being capable of explaining it to another. Where one might have thought her attempt to lure Luxeria into the game had been done out maliciously - the truth was she simply was repeating that which had been done to her, which in this case shouldn't have ever applied since she learned to play this game when she was twelve. It was never her intent to treat Luxeria in such a demeaning way. She nodded slightly remaining silent until the food had come.
She looked down at the steak with a mouth watering smile, already noticing the blood seeping from the seared meat. Slowly cutting the meat open she nodded her approval and began to eat what could have been the best steak she'd ever have in her life. With the desire to enjoy the dinner she turned the game into more of a conversational affair as she began to explain the rules and the various strategies she had found more effective than others - eventually leading the conversation around to how one could split their mind to utilize two parts of their brain at the same time - therefor manifesting the force in different ways. Similar to a deep meditative state where one might glimpse into the future with their precognitive mind, while remaining aware of their present the mind of many technique allowed the user, in this case, to protect their own mind while with equal strength assault the defenses of someone else, forcing them to either defend and lock wills - or attack and open their mind while attempting a race.
"The main problem with that sort of thinking is... no one expects a defense as strong as the ones we are able to maintain even in the middle of a mental assault. The downside of course is that the technique does require a little practice and a few years of trial and error attempting to see how your mind reacts to certain situations. Some things you cannot change about your mind no matter how hard you try - or how long you practice."

Luxeria couldn’t help but smile while watching Vasari’s expression at the food. It made it so easy to tell that she had never had a meal so well prepared. Of all things, perhaps that was something that could be kept up more often. As her friend dove in, Luxeria followed suit, casually cutting up pieces and eating them, savoring every bite. With the few mouthfuls out of the way, the conversation continued on as Vasari began to explain the rules of the game, her Mind of Many technique, and the basis of the defenses she employed. There were moments were something seemed a little unclear, suggesting her lack of really being the teaching type. However, Luxeria’s mind has adapted well since she began training on her own, allowing her to understand things either by being read, explained, or displayed, no matter how terrible it seemed to come out. And this occasion was no different, especially since it laid within her particular strengths.
"For the most part, I have yet to encounter a situation where my mind needed to split. It serves you better as you stretch it over multiple things at once nearly every outing. From maintaining your own mental defenses to the battle meditation, to attacking, you are usually always split at least twice if not three times. So far, I could only see its need for assaulting another while defending. Still, a wise thing to learn. Never know when it’ll be helpful."

Vasari nodded taking another bite of her steak. It was true that such a practice was hardly second nature for most Sith. Those that favored Offensive saber forms for instance used their offense as a part of their defense - however because of the saber form that Vasari had come to master over the years at the Academy, and her smaller stature and lack of the physical dominance that larger combatants possessed she had found it much easier to win duels via other means - her means being Sith Sorcery and Magic. The game had actually trained her for a thought process that she utilized every time she had to initiate her saber for combat.
"I very well might have crippled myself by adopting such a mind set, or for not dedicating myself towards learning a more offensive form of Saber combat... I did try Makashi for a time, I could not get the hang of it... I wasn't able to move with the same grace I see in your movements. everything felt clumsy. And the Saber-staff feels so much like a Zhaboka, it just seemed more natural for me."

Luxeria stopped what she was doing, sitting back as she listened. everything they had discussed so far hadn't caused her to take pause, casually eating as they went. But there was something in what Vasari said that stood out to her. She couldn't place it exactly as her friend's tone held nothing to suggested it, but it almost seemed like she felt herself weak and much less capable than most other Sith. Not coming from a full Sith academy, she hadn't truly seen the true mindset most Sith adopted. There were those among the Sith under Malvus, but none that really stood out. Still, she could see it, the concept of power and offense. It seemed to be the driving point for Sith, and in most cases, she guessed, all out psychical dominance was the key. That line of thought was confirmed when she reflected on the opening words of her holocron. That Sith, Darth Ketsunum, had stated it was how most Sith operated, being through physical strength or overwhelming power in the Force. They always had to make a show of it.
However, for people like herself and Vasari, the approach was much different. They moved forward under another type of light. And with it came a level of deception more crafted by the dominating mind of others rather than their own work. people would think less of them and underestimate them. this caused her to smirk as she leaned forward, resting her arms on the table. I would disagree with that. It might seem like a crippling approach for yourself, but I believe, in time, it'll be key to your strength, the key to your dominance. True, you might split yourself a little farther than necessary, but the ability to split your focus to function almost like two separate minds is actually an advantage. At its best, your mind is able to cover everything around you and keep you safe. As for your combat form, it suits you. While it wouldn't hurt to learn some aspects of a more powerful form, it wouldn't work so well. You must understand yourself, how you think and move, how you feel. Picking the powers you want to learn, the forms in which you study works its best in your hands. But it is also key to adapt the form to you, not you to the form. Anything less and you can't make the most of it."

Vasari hardly realized that half her steak was gone before she stopped to actually consider what Luxeria meant about adapting the form to her own style. She set down her knife and raised a napkin to her lips to wipe away a small bit of blood running down her chin. She hadn't chosen Soresu because she was a defensive person at heart, she had chosen it because she felt it was the best way to allow her to perfect her offensive mindset - through sorcery and magic. She assumed this is what Luxeria had meant and so she nodded in approval and acceptance of the assessment. She, as yet - had not been put into a situation where her saber skills had been her own avenue of success - in such a situation she thought - she would have to rely on the favored Form III thought process of waiting and tiring out your opponent - once they made a mistake - end them.
"Splitting twice has become my norm now... I am usually always split between myself and my surroundings. For instance you... and that group of 'gentleman' over there attempting to hit on that waitress."She gestured with her eyes but did not turn her head to look their direction - simply proving the point."The Living Force is everywhere around us... feeling its presence and accepting what it has to offer me I've been able to connect to a deeper understanding of everything happening... When I'm fighting its the same... Everyone gives themselves over to the Force when they fight. Doing so they end up telegraphing their moves for anyone who is listening. Doesn't work against droids but..."She lifted her shoulders slightly and smirked leaving off the rest of the comment. She had rarely fought against a droid she hadn't been able to dismember within moments - even those designed for combat.

Luxeria's eyes shifted to the side, showing the sudden shift in her attention to the direction Vasari had mentioned. Indeed, she was correct in the situation currently playing out. Her smile faded, her eyes darkened, and a faint flare of agitation as she watched and listened to what could be heard. Women were always the greater of rivals to her, especially when they either held beauty, power, or even both. But she was equally disgusted when men attempted such things against them. To her, respect should always have been given to those who deserve it. In this case, this woman deserved to respected as a proper woman and not just a piece of ass for them.
Taking a small breath, she looked back to Vasari "For the most part, that's the most I think you should ever have to normally split it. And, of course, the full depth of the approach is more thought and refined in your mind. While I don't fully understand the idea behind the 'Living' Force, as you put it, it's clear enough you do things a bit different than most Sith do, see things differently. Even if I or another were to learn to split our kinds like you do, I don't think we'd be able to to make the most of it in the way you can. Just another point for its advantage."
Her eyes shifted back to the men who were still at it. Not only was it annoying to her, but they were also hindering her from doing her job. A simple act of disrespect and Luxeria could see the downward spiral it was already creating. It would agitate the woman, make her less focused on her work while being held back would agitate customers waiting for her. That meant less tips and possible bad reports, not to mention what the men themselves would say about her if she kept pushing away. While trivial in the scheme of things, these men could hurt her image as a waitress here for at least a few days. Looking back to Vasari, a dark smile crept onto her face. "So what do you think we could do to help the waitress out over there?" There were many options in the art of manipulation itself. Humiliate them, control them, hurt them, each with their options. She had her own approaches she liked to utilize, but was curious as to how Vasari would go about it.

Vasari had pointed out the woman's unfortunate situation to prove a point, she hadn't considered Vasari would desire to do anything to change the poor things situation. She raised an eyebrow slightly at the question - but the darkness colored across Luxeria's smile answered the question for her. It wasn't about the girl - she was seeking to punish them. Vasari nodded slightly and cast a look back at the pair focusing on them with the full force of her mind learning what she could easily from the first current of the Living Force - after she simply lifted her shoulders slightly and whispered.
"I could melt their minds easily enough... they're not all that complex, hardly worth the effort really?"
Vasari simply tilted her head to the side looking back at Luxeria. She wasn't exactly sure what Luxeria was proposing - she had used her sorcery to pass unnoticed more times than she could count - but doing something to help someone else - it wasn't something that she was used to. She began to go over possibilities - she could scrub their minds of all mention of her, but once they saw her again they would simply start up again. Where Luxeria's mind went to humiliation, pain, and manipulation Vasari's own experiences with people tended to lean more towards the subtle - but before she said anything more she thought that Luxeria would find her methods hardly any fun. After another few moments of consideration she finally spoke.
"Without revealing our involvement - there is little I can see us being capable of doing. We could force the boisterous one to profusely apologize for his behavior in a grand and loud way - might cause his compatriots to turn there attention from leering at her to teasing him?"

Luxeria's eyes shifted back to the men as Vasari spoke. It was clear enough that the two saw a difference in approach in how to use their powers, at least to some degree. The smirk never left her face as her friend finished speaking. Looking back to her, she tilted her head. "How do you figure we'll be found out? The minds of those men are quite weak, mostly spurred by few things: money, women, status. Quite easy to invade their minds without notice and manipulate them. When you know what a man wants you know who he is, and how to move him."
Turning her eyes back to the group, she focused on one of the men. They had soup at the table with them, a nice choice. Taking a soft, yet deep breath, she reached out with her mind to his. So full of holes and so unaware, the man thought quite well of himself. It was simple to slip in through the gaping cracks and settle into his mind. She sat there, waiting for the perfect moment. Seeing the waitress step back, she began her work, causing the man to stand and reach for her. The way she made the man move caught the edge of the table, his arm the edge of the bowl. With these two actions, the hot soup was almost tossed up and over onto his friend, causing him to yell as it covered him and stand up to get away.
It was similar to her very first attempt at invading the mind. When she first met her previous master, Darth Andor, her first task was to manipulate a man conversing with a woman. A difficult test, she had caused the man to jump slightly, enough to spill his drink across the woman. It was so easy for such minuscule acts. To top it off, it seemed to be an accident from a man's overexcitement. Looking back to Vasari, she took her wine and sipped it a bit, allowing her to join in. If she wanted to simply watch Luxeria work, she'd then go farther, humiliating them in front of the restaurant and make them look like such fools they wouldn't be seen around here for quite some time.

Vasari felt her friends mind reach out to the group and as she slowly picked her way through the greens that had slowly been soaking in the blood and juice of the steak she took several slow measured bites as she half watched mostly felt the scene unplay before them. She widened her mind's hold over the restaurant and noticed several people had already begun taking notice of the situation most of the self imposed "upper crust" sneering at the groups behavior. When the man stood and the soup was spilled over his friend a slight smile curved onto her lips - the crowd assembled was much too high class to react to such a display of disgrace. Watching Luxeria take a sip her eyes offered entry into this new game and though the young Zabrak really wasn't sure what else she could do she turned and cast an eye on the man who had now turned to look at his friend - a look of chagrin on his face as if he was attempting to decide whether to laugh or apologize - Vasari decided to make that decision for him as she reached for her own glass and breached his mind with effortless grace. Right after she raised the glass to her lips, but before the liquid actually reached them Luxeria would hear her friend whisper a single word - her eyes now focused intently upon the standing man.
"Laugh"
There was a sort of shroud around her voice - it sounded as If she was weaving the force through her voice, the subtle and dominating power of the Qazio Kyantuska. For the moment at least the man's mind belonged completely to Vasari. It was not an illusion, or a subtle manipulation, she owned him heart, mind, and spirit. As the man laughed long and joyously at his friends terrible stroke of luck - or so it seemed - the display had drawn several more disapproving glares from the patrons, and even the attention of the other wait staff - several disappearing no doubt going to get a manager - who appeared moments later and quietly asked the gentleman to leave - stating that their balance would be pilled to their accounts and that they should vacate the premises as soon as possible.
"Sit!"
Vasari whispered again - her voice still lingering with the power of the Thought Suppression technique. The man shook his head at the manage and sat down full on the floor - even going so far as to cross his arms over his chest as his other friends simply stared at him dumbfounded by his childish actions - hardly noticing the hazy look in his eyes. Vasari tilted her head back towards Luxeria - finally breaking eye contact and releasing the man from her control - who would sit there reeling for a short amount of time as his mind cleared and returned to him. Vasari simply took another drink and then returned the glass to the table as if nothing had happened. She raised an eyebrow towards her friend to see how she would take her addition to the situation.

Luxeria watched with amusement as Vasari took hold of the man, completely contriving his actions, no controlling his very being. The shake of her head was faint, mostly to keep from anyone from directing their attention towards them, either to avert the possible thought they were involved or keep all eyes on them. Already the manager had appeared and was trying to get the pair to leave. They had become a spectacle here, but Luxeria wasn't quite done. She wanted to make a final statement, something that might send them running from embarrassment.
As the one man helped his friend up, both still utterly confused about was happening, Luxeria reached out again, though this time she didn't bother with linking to their minds. Using her Telekinesis, she forced the buttons on their pants to break and caused their pants to slide off. A little prank, typical of a child, yet for something like that to happen to men such as them in a crowded area of higher class people was more than enough to finish the job. Half pushed, half struggling out the door, the men were escorted by some of the waiters as they tried to keep their trousers on.
Taking a deep breath, she looked back to her friend. "That was fun." She giggled a bit as she took a drink. "Still, a little much wasn't it, using that level of power just to screw with them?" Her tone didn't sound as if she was looking down on Vasari for doing so against such a weak target, but out of honest curiosity. She had yet to come across the technique Vasari used in her search for manipulating powers, but she could easily tell the level it rested on. From the full control she had over him to actually speaking commands suggested it was something of greater power, meant to control stronger minds.

Vasari blushed slightly - not having thought of that. It wasn't as if they had taught her not to use her abilities at the Academy - in point of fact they had told her to make a display of such power, to bring notoriety to the school and spread their reputation among the Galaxy. Most people did not think of Iridonia when they thought of Sith Schools. Korriban, Malachor IV but not Iridonia... not yet. The Blackguard would change that in time - but this was not the time nor place, nor did she really care. The Academy was not her concern. She watched the people leave and then as she lowered her fork to finish off her steak she lifted her shoulders slightly in reply.
"I thought it was below us to interfere in the first place... the woman should learn to defend herself from such things. But if we are going to... might as well do so properly, yes?"
She didn't attempt to seem grandiose about the situation, but she still didn't seem to understand the desire to interfere simply to prove a point, especially when they don't know the point that was proven. they would simply view this night as a fluke in their merry chain of making waitresses feel like pieces of flesh and little else. Vasari had experienced such things in her youth, but the older apprentices learned to leave her alone when she ended up castrating one of them with a training saber whose settings she had fiddled with on the practice ring, She had earned seven lashes in the public forum for unauthorized and unnecessary display of force, but her point had gotten across.
"I assume you know their type well... there are many of them on this world?"

Luxeria listened to Vasari speak of what she thought on the matter. Moving on to finish her steak, she processed the words, understanding where her friend was coming from. Many Sith felt using such dominate force was needed in all cases or it was outside of their concern. But Luxeria saw things differently, something she had mentioned earlier. Finishing off the bit that was in her mouth, she shrugged. "Personally, I despise those who act like such pigs. It was less about defending her and more for my own satisfaction. Did I need to interfere? Probably not. But then I ask, why not? Because it's fun and satisfying. No other reason. Might be Sith, but doesn't man I can't enjoy some harmless fun with my abilities. Well, harmless depending on who you ask."
She gave another shrug with a smirk. She saw no issue in the matter. In fact, that was part of what she intended to do tomorrow when they hit the club. So many people to mess with for other reason than sheer amusement. In some cases, they may be helping someone out, much like they had just done here. But the end goal was using her abilities to enjoy things at a level most couldn't.
When asking about the guys, she gave a nod. "I do. More than enough times have I come across their kind. The only reason I never became the victim is by playing the role and letting them think themselves lucky. But I always reverse the roles and they become my pawns to play with. But there are many here, just as there are on nearly every world."

Vasari nodded slowly setting her fork and knife down crossed upon her place and leaning forward her elbows resting on the edge of the table over her plate as she rested her chin against her folded hands. She could more than understand Luxeria's sentiment - with what she had known from the woman's life growing up here. Such experiences would lead most to being playful with the hearts and minds of those seeking to abuse her own. And looking at her she could tell that had formed most of her entire personality, geared her towards her path within the darkside, and had driven her to the position she now held and the greatness she was currently seeking. Something told her it wouldn't be long until that greatness was achieved in earnest.
"And what about me..."She whispered turning the conversation slightly aside."Am I a pawn... a toy... a weapon to be used?A slight smile played across her lips - she was guarded even in asking the question but she bore no malicious intent or accusation within her tone - and from the simple tilt of her head it seemed that only pure curiosity drove the question to be asked."I felt your mind over Mustafar... you saw me as a threat to be assessed and possibly eliminated, and yet here we are..."
Vasari left the ending off simply gesturing to their surroundings. Clearly their association had changed over the course of the missions they had been on together. Mustafar and Pzob had both tested them - together and independently of each other. She was aware of the nature of most of the Sith - 'friendship' wasn't often the order of the day within their minds.

Her meal finished, she pushed her dishes to the side as she leaned back in her chair once again, her glass resting gently in her hands. She couldn't help but laugh a little at Vasari's question. It was a curious one. Did her friend really question their current relationship? Or was this merely a passing question, more out of sheer curiosity. There would be no lies to tell as she was sure Vasari would know the truth. Taking a drink, she then tilted her head. "You are none of the above. If you were any of them, we wouldn't be here right now, though thinking about it, it would best the best way to manipulate another Sith. Is it that odd to actually have a friend when within the ranks of the Sith? Besides, it’s not the smartest thing to manipulate other Sith like that. Even when under the strongest, that that fact alone can bring everything crashing down when others decide they’re tired of it. Best to trying and keep relations...mutual. In the normal case that is" She finished off her wine before setting the glass back down. "When it came to Mustafar, can you blame me? I was suddenly sent on a mission with a new order that I was pulled into because my master joined with it. Everyone was new to me, anyone could have been a threat. Were you not cautious of me as well?"

Vasari nodded slowly though a smile did slip onto her lips. It was true playing games with other Sith wasn't the best or most healthy of past times, however it wasn't unheard of. That was the entire relationship between Master and Apprentice under the Rule of Two, that is how the Masters at the Academy taught their students, and that was what she had come to expect from most Sith she had come into contact with. Everyone was a threat, everyone had something on you.
"I wouldn't know... I've never had a friend. In fact I actually attempted to avoid them at the Academy. Mustafar... well, Xakire did tell me to watch you."Vasari smirked giving Luxeria a very clear once over."You could say I've been taking his advice... quite literally."
She chuckled taking a last drink - finishing off the rest of the bitter sweet liquor. She set the empty glass on the table with the rest of the dirty dishes and crossed her arms over her chest leaning back against the chair. With dinner finished and the sun well below the horizon Vasari was almost ready to not be around people. Their minds were waves upon the tranquility of her mind and they were beginning to frustrate her.
"I don't blame you for being suspicious, I suppose I still am of this place as well... The Blackguard is learning to stand on its own but they are a subsidiary of the First Order... I will not answer to them. I barely answer to Viox... So yes, caution is a must."

Luxeria gave a smile as Vasari spoke. "Well, you have one now." Despite how typical it could be for masters and teachers to manipulate and use their apprentices and students, she couldn’t stand the idea of being seen as a pawn, nothing but a tool or toy for their own game. She had realized her feelings on the matter back on Mustafar. Unlike everything else she’d learn to overcome, that was something that would stay. She wasn’t here for someone else’s amusement, a means to their ends. Any who tried would certainly be on her shit list and would at some point feel the consequences.
She tilted her head as she laughed a little, her smile turning to a smirk. "I’ve noticed. All to often do I catch your gaze." She laughed a little more. "Sounds like you are just a handful, not listening that often. But still, I somehow doubt Viox has any plans of the Blackguard being anything under the First Order. At most, it’s a surface illusion." Noticing Vasari had finished off her food and drink, she wondered if she was ready. "Ready to head out? I figure we can take a look at the mountain peak before heading back."

Vasari lowered her gaze slightly blushing, more than a little abashed by her friends choice of words, perhaps she had been overly forward. Regardless however she was ready to go and nodded slowly at Luxeria's plans to visit the mountain top before she pushed back her chair and stood, slowly surveying the room for a short moment before looking back at her friend and whispering softly."This was very nice... thank you for bringing me here."she moved over to join her friend and while they settled the bill and made their way towards the exit she got the strange feeling she was being watched, but couldn't figure out from where. She found herself rubbing idly at the wound on her thigh. Mostly healed, only leaving the muscle numb from time to time with the lingering presence of pain."Who controls the planet now?"She wasn't sure if the First Order had regained control of this sector from the old empire or if the remnants of the emperors army and the crime lords held the planet hostage now - she couldn't quite place it but something about this place had very recently begun to bother her. But even still she attempted to push the feelings aside as they walked out of the Restaurant and back towards the plaza together.

After paying for dinner, she led Vasari out into the plaza, heading straight for the bit of the mountain peak peeking out through the floor. When Vasari thanked her again for bringing her, this time probably more specific to the restaurant, she shook her head with a small smile. "Don't mention it."
As they moved across the plaza, she finally stopped a few feet away from the exposed rock as she thought on Vasari's question. "Unless its changed since I left three years ago, it was controlled by the Galactic Alliance and the Senate. While I have been back between now and then, I haven't paid any attention to who ruled it."

Vasari followed silently after they left the restaurant, her eyes still scanning the area as if still slightly on edge. When they reached the mountain top Vasari looked around for the cultists Luxeria had said tried to keep people from walking away with bits and pieces of the mountain - with as many people she had scene on this planet it was a miracle that the mountain even still existed - for even a quarter of the ones she had seen here even this evening desired a piece there would be little anyone could do to keep the entire thing from crumbling to the ground - wherever that may be. This thought brought a smile to her lips and a soft chuckle from her breast. She stepped closer to Luxeria without a word and slipped her hand into the other girls, resting her head against her friends shoulder a look of pure exhaustion written across her features - even the squeeze of her fingers lacked its usual luster of energy and strength.*
"I never understood the purpose of a Senate... Who is the say that this person represents the interests of an entire planet... At least when Viox took Iridonia we knew what it was. It was a show of power - and he challenged all who dared to oppose him. Some still do. There was no lie about it..."

Luxeria shrugged slightly at the comment. It was easier to understand than she thought, provided she looked passed what it was capable of and what many thought of it. "Honestly, it causes more issues than anything. All it does is make everyone think that this elected official works for the interest of a selected group of people and that they'll do what is best for them. Most times, those in power care only for themselves and don't really care about doing anything for the people and everything for themselves. The sad part is how effective that illusion is. Even when bad decisions are made, there's always some excuse, some belief that pacifies the majority. At least Viox is clear and to the point of what he expects and what he aims for. There is little in the way of a covering over the eyes of the public. So long as there is a level of respect and desire for a people to remain strong, there is little wrong. Really the only difference is that the single leader gets things done faster."
She had noticed Vasari's hand slipping into hers and her head upon her shoulder. She couldn't help but giggle a little. "My, my. Has the shopping and fine dining tired you out? I wouldn't have expected such from a warrior of your caliber. But I suppose we should head back and get some rest. tomorrow is going to be another big day."
