The Esterly Phoenix, an ugly mismatched freighter that can barely stay in the air, lands amongst the high-class ships in the republic senate hanger.

Avaro had been watching the senate proceedings on the holonet while landing. He realized that he was running late. He did not care about dignity and began racing through the halls toward the Rotunda.

The various airspeeder taxi's belonging to the Fifth Battalion arrived to the Republic Plaza in varying intervals, with about 10 airspeeders at a time, during which time the Commando's would disembark, remove their weapons from the crates and pay the driver's to drop off the crates to various charity houses throughout Galactic City. Once out of the Taxi's each moved through the crowd and headed to the start of the main entrance walk to await the arrival of the rest of the group, which did not take long for everyone to gather up, with General Zahn, his Colonel's, and the Imperial Knights being one of the last to arrive, but quickly made their way to the front of the group It's show time... It was with those words that several explosions rang out across the city, moments before the screens began to lit up and various speaker's started playing the message transmitted from orbit. General Zahn nodded, before he took the lead with Colonel's Nam, Fiora, Uther, Abegail, and Kel, undoubtly alongside the Imperial Knights, with the 300 Commando's of the Fifth Battalion behind them, firing upon any Senate Guards that just so happened to be on patrol at that moment

Explosions, death, destruction. All the things Jedi tend to hate. Imperial Knights on the other hand thrive in these sorts of situations. Ideally they would be at the front of the battle with their red armour a beacon for everyone to see. This time though they were not cloaked in their usual stuff but something of Pannos own design. Four silver lightsabers ignited from their hands as soon as the blaster bolts started flying.
In the lead none the less the four people took up positions around the General slightly ahead of him their lightsabers deflecting back some well aimed blasts that would have no doubt killed one of the aforementioned people. Despite most of the people having some form of blasters in this day and age for some reason the Republic persisted on using the honour gaurds that used edged weapons for ceremonial reasons. They had run into the screaming blaster fire to engage them hand to hand.
They of course were well trained, the best of the best for Senate security, their red armour meant to inspire fear and awe, it apparently didnt hamper movement as one engaged Panno. Catching the Force Pike with his left hand he used the crushgaunt to disable the weapon, before stabbing stabbing the person through the chest and slicing outwards. The smell of burnt hair and flesh permeated the air easily overpowering the smell of cordite and smoke from the explosions moments before. It reminded him so much fighting on Prakith, thankfully there were no naked barabels here.
Have your men focus on the honour guard. They are much more dangerous than I just made them out to be.

Sometime in the past... (Private Storyline)
Two Jedi Masters strode briskly across the Republic Plaza towards the entrance to the massive domed complex that held the Galactic Senate within. Various civilians, politicians, sanitation workers, clerical aids, and news reporters were about their usual business in the plaza, heading into and out of the Senate building as a normal day of business proceeded. Somewhere behind the pair of striding Jedi, one human Orian Katal and one Shistavanen Keth Agrav, law enforcement sirens were causing a ruckus as they swarmed around the entrance to the Jedi Temple, where a shoot-out had occurred and a Jedi Padawan had been murdered. It was the very incident that had sent this pair of Masters to the Senate in the first place; to find the other members of the Jedi Council and brief them as quickly as possible on what had just occurred only minutes ago.
In this setting, very few Coruscanti paid the Jedi any undue attention except for the typical passing glance at seeing their traditional robes which stood at from the regular civilian garb; Orian's in a very light gray and Keth's in a chestnut brown. Even their urgency was not considered out of the ordinary for a Jedi, who were considered by much of the populace to live by their own mysterious agenda and were hard to understand from the perspective of the average person. In this case no one seemed to want to get in the way as the Masters bustled towards the Senate building's entrance.
Grand Master Milara had told Keth that the Senate security would be expecting them in spite of the recent violence that heightened caution in the entire district and would admit them with expediency to the docking pods in the Rotunda where the Jedi Council was stationed so as to present the new development to the Senate meeting currently taking place; the current topic of discussion definitely pertained to a very volatile revolt on Cathar and the very ill-advised capture of the Republic diplomatic party in addition to the murder of the Master-Apprentice Jedi pair sent with the delegation. And while neither Keth nor Orian knew what stance the Senate or the Grand Master would take, they both wanted very badly to lead the way to Cathar to sort out the pieces personally after what they had just been put through.
The pair were quickly engulfed within the massive Senate building, onward to report their encounter with Durm Storm and the murder of Jedi Padawan Aan Celui.

Just after the election of Supreme Chancellor Standash Thul, and hours before she was granted emergency powers.
=Senator Naberrie= The outer doors of the Senate Building swept open, and were held in place one on either side by a Royal Naboo Security Forces body guard, as Senator Alyse Naberrie exited the Senate and made her way across the Plaza to her waiting J-Type diplomatic barge, its chrome skin shining and twinkling as it reflected thousands of lights from all over the Galactic City. Head held high, and dressed in black clothes for mourning Bundi Darma, she walked slowly and confidently to her spacecraft, and the guards closed up behind her.
Leaving her trusted, but unfortunately rather gullible, friend Louie Nertt as Acting Senator (much to the pride of his Gungan race), she knew what she must do. Go home, make a few speeches, prove to her people that their own Senator was still very much alive, well, and fighting for them, and reassure them that the Republic had their backs. And, behind closed doors, with only the counsel of the Queen and her closest advisors, wait and hope and pray that Thul and Koronov were successful in rescuing the Republic from its corruption. Koronov seemed to believe that he would see her again soon, and that they would be triumphant, but deep down she was less optimistic. The entire thing might fall apart into civil war in a matter of days. All it would take was one more assassination, and the Senate would be at each others' throats. Perhaps it was a good thing she would be home on Naboo. If anything happened to Thul or Koronov, she herself could easily be the next target. At least on Naboo, she would have the hometown advantage. And you could be sure she wouldn't be taking the risks the late Vice Chancellor had evidently taken.
The hatch snapped shut, and moments later, the diplomatic barge was airborne.

During the final hours of the Republic.
=Secretary Aylee'saresh= The blue-skinned young Twi'lek woman walked sedately across the open Republic plaza, to linger in the shelter of an ornate and ancient marble column. It was a blustery day, and for once she was glad that she did not have hair on her head, as she watched the wind ruined the expensive and ornate topknot of a hapless snob from some Core world. She tried hard to suppress a laugh, her lekku twitching forward to hide the upturned corners of her mouth.
"You're here on serious business, Aylee." She reminded herself. "The fate of the Republic, and its ever-disappearing Senators, is not a joke."
More serious now as she re-focused on her job, Aylee settled in to wait for Koronov's new protege -- if he showed up. The Twi'lek had been impressed enough with the strange force user's actions at the benefit gala a few weeks ago that she had gotten him an interview with Koronov, and Cass had impressed Dmitri enough to be offered a job. But that didn't mean Aylee trusted the boy yet. She knew how Koronov liked to play his cards. This entire mission would be a loyalty test, and she would be expected to give a full report when they returned.

From the edges Cass surveyed the hanger. He looked over the area gathering information and understanding. He watched his contact for a few min. He studied her mannerisms. She was anxious, nervous even. Not about this meeting in particular, but the greater workings of the galaxy. Things were changing that much was clear and it didn't take the Force to notice it. There was a new player, someone Cass had been unable to get any real information on, a Princess from Alderaan. This new player had everyone on edge. After observing for a few minutes he walks over to the Twi'lek I believe you are my contact, Secretary Aylee'saresh. Or is it Senator now?

* The man was no fool nor was he without connections. Simple math said that arbitrarily trying to coax some idiot into moving these girls was stupidity. But they would attract a certain flavor of attention. Let’s see if these two and that big gun could handle a real criminal he thought. At the Senate Plaza the man came to a halt at Docking Bay 87. With a grin the man spoke*
-Driver-
“Boys the girls want a ride to Manaan”
*The greasy scumbags there were all eyes and smiles*
-Group Scumbag Coarse-
“Well helloooo ladies….”
-Single mouthy scumbag-
“So ya want a ride eh? Manaan; you can go swimming... you like swimming girls?”
*Laughter broke out among the Neanderthals. And at that Rhiannon dropped the puddle of puke with a shot*
- Rhiannon-
“Rhiannon Dubh is my name.”
*Pointing to her sister*
- Rhiannon-
“That’s Aranrhod… Dubh. I really suggest that you get us to Manaan and you’ll be a rich man"
*Cooly nodding her head*
“Things get bad? Well then I pity your grandchildren.”
*The men became gentlemen right fast. The girls were handled - politely, loaded all nice and polite. The hanger door shut and the shuttle pulled up and was gone*

Or is it Senator now? =Aylee'saresh=Things had been changing rapidly on the political scene -- almost too rapidly for her to process. Just moments ago, she had departed the Senate after the new Chancellor's address. It seemed possible that she was also to be the last Chancellor of the Republic, and in Aylee's opinion, one of the ones history would look upon least favorably. But who could tell? The people who wrote those history books might be the very ones now manipulating the Senate from the shadows. Perhaps even Standash was a pawn. Nothing was certain, and everyone was a suspect, even some of her closest friends."It's just Aylee now. The Senate is no more. At least, last I checked. If it is reinstated while we are away from Coruscant, then I will be Senate Nominee Saresh once more." She laughed, trying desperately to inject some humor into the dark days that had befallen the Republic, and her lekku curled in amusement. "Regardless of the fate of the Republic, we have an important mission to complete. Koronov wishes for us to travel to Ryloth. We are to locate Crom'nen, and also to determine who truly holds the power on Ryloth. Traditionally, my people have a Clan Council, and their Senator answers to them, but we do not have any recent confirmation of this."

Arriving at one of the diplomatic hangars attached to the Senate chambers, Ex-Senator Hadrig, his staff, the Selonian Priscilla, and several Corellian Defense Force officers boarded a Corellian Star Shuttle, carrying boxes and stacks of reports from the Senate offices of the FIve Worlds. If they had done their jobs thoroughly, nothing of significant intelligence value would be left behind. The office materials were secured, and the Five-Worlders buckled themselves in for a somber ride home.
=Hadrig= Even Hadrig, who as a pacifist largely supported the end of the Republic, was glum. He knew the risks of what had happened. "May the Force be with You, Coruscant." The Drall whispered quietly as the engines of the shuttle roared to life, and lifted them from the Galactic City.

Will you hold enough sway to make things like that happen? You are a Twi'lek but surely you are considered an off worlder at this point. And it is my understanding that Crom'nen and Senator Koronov were not exactly friendly...

Docking Bay 87 A know hot spot for smuggling of both of inanimate and humanoid cargo. No faction holds a monopoly over use of the services; it is a self sustaining highly lucrative small-scale criminal organization open to all and any.

*A speeder crawls carefully into the busy facilities. Coming to a stop at Docking Bay 87, if you guessed it go to the admins to collect your novelty prize. Past that two hoodlums leap from the speeder and begin chiseling out a deal with some shady cats. A few size up the speeder with Ciarán and Laoch looking over shoulder. An argument breaks out among the group and voices rise*
-Loach-
"What kind of a smuggler are you if moving a speeder is hard?"
*Pilot-
"Listen punk we've been at this for years."
-Loach-
*Loach's voice grows louder*
"If you've been at it so long why can't you move a speeder?
*Ciarán cuts in sharply*
-Ciarán-
"Knock it off! We dump the thing."
*Looking at the pilot hand unconsciously toying with a holster*
-Ciarán-
"Loach that speeder pays our way to Manaan...."
*Stare hard on the pilot*
"Ain't that right?" *The pilot's eyes scan the speeder the men and he nods*
-Pilot-
"Deal-
*With that the deal is done and all personal effects and the boys are onboard and as fast as things began they are gone*

"And I will take utmost care not to assume any status on Ryloth. I was born on Corellia. They may see me as a traitor, I don't know." She sighed as they began to walk toward the diplomatic shuttles and other craft standing on various pads nearby. "But, Dmitri and Crom'nen were attempting to work out a side deal of sorts, just between our two worlds, to get the Twi'leks the proper defense forces that the Senate was too incompetent to fund. And shortly before he disappeared, a CDF officer made an offer to the Twi'leks, which was well-received. I am planning to follow up on that offer, if I get the opportunity. If not, I am just a Twi'lek with a soft spot for her people, coming home at a time of crisis and looking to be of service." "And if that doesn't work either," She flicked her left lekku. "Well, that's where you come in..."

To sum up, we are making sure that Ryloth will be stable given the now defunct leadership here. To see what if any of the old deals are still in play. And finally to find a corrupt former senator and make sure he isn't dead and or running a criminal underground. To accomplish these tasks, diplomacy is preferable, but force and intimidation are not of the table should the need arise.
This is what i signed up for madam.
A porter droid comes over with a small duffle bag. Cass picks it up and tries not to think it contains all of his possessions. 2 spare tunics, some combat armor pieces, data pad, a couple blasters, and targeting hud. His lighsabers, like always, hidden away in the protective case on his back.
Ready when you are, I will follow your lead.

If they had done their jobs thoroughly, nothing of significant intelligence value would be left behind. The office materials were secured, and the Five-Worlders buckled themselves in for a somber ride home.=Hadrig=Even Hadrig, who as a pacifist largely supported the end of the Republic, was glum. He knew the risks of what had happened. "May the Force be with You, Coruscant." The Drall whispered quietly as the engines of the shuttle roared to life, and lifted them from the Galactic City. The Corellian Senatorial delegation had all gathered aboard their shuttle, aside from those dispatched on other missions, and Senator Koronov himself.=Capt. Sara Ruluwoor=While the others had boarded their Star Shuttle, and the pilots warmed the engines and set their course for Corellia, Captain Ruluwoor paced the hangar nervously, wondering where in chaos Dmitri was. A heavy weight was beginning to settle into her stomach as the minutes ticked past. Ordinarily, the Senator arriving late would not have surprised any of them. for he was a very busy man, and yet he often stopped to help others, even if it ruined his own schedule. But today was different. There was no more Republic. Now thoroughly worried that trouble had befallen their leader, Sara loosened the holster on her sidearm, then keyed her comlink. I have a bad feeling about this. I'm going to find the Senator. Turning, she made her way toward the east exit of the hangar, her Selonian eyes scanning in all directions for any threats or any clues to Dmitri's location. Meanwhile, through the west entrance, five blue-armored Republic guardsmen entered the hangar. With her back to them, Sara never saw the new arrivals, and with their official Republic uniforms, the passengers and crew of the Corellian escape craft didn't suspect a trap until it was too late.=Capt. Wallace=Keying the loudspeaker in his helmet as he approached the lowered boarding ramp of the Star Shuttle, Wallace prepared his next deception. This is Captain Wallace of the Republic Guard. This vessel has been seized for suspected involvement in the theft and smuggling of classified military secrets. Pilots, you are legally required to shut down your engines and cooperate with our inspection. Passengers, we ask that you gather your personal possessions and exit the craft in orderly fashion. Please do not be alarmed. You will be detained only so long as it takes us to inspect your personal belongings and the interior of the vessel for evidence, then you will be free to go.=Capt. Sara Ruluwoor=Sara spun around at the sound, and threw herself behind a barrel, straining her eyes for a better look. Five Republic guardsmen were surrounding the shuttle, three of them waiting at the base of the boarding ramp with rifles raised, while the other two were preparing some device, probably intending to disable the engines. Pulling out her macrobinoculors, she focused on the three at the ramp, and all of the fur on her neck stood on end at what she saw. It's a trap. She hissed into her comlink. Their rifles are set to kill. Senate protocol mandates stun in this situation.=CDF Pilot=How can you be sure? After today's events, protocol may have changed. I cannot disobey the Senate guard on a whim!=Capt. Sara Ruluwoor=She sighed. Watch. Standing up from behind her position, she called out. "Captain Wallace, may I--" There was no hesitation from the rogue guardsman, he wheeled and unclipped three lethal shots in her direction, sending Sara diving for cover. Now do you believe me? She complained. Get out of here. Now. There is no legal system you can trust here. Go.=Ex-Senator Hadrig=The elder statesman broke in. We're not leaving without you -- or Dmitri.=Capt. Ruluwoor=Leave the Senator to me. Get out of here. They'll be shutting down our com channel any minute. You can't help the Senator, you'll only get yourselves killed. Sara's voice squeaked as she pleaded with her friends.=Ex-Senator Hadrig=Fine. The Drall was pained, but convinced. May the Force be with you, Sara. And with that, the Corellian Star Shuttle took off, the sudden burst from its engines blowing over two of Wallace's men just before they could deploy an EMP change. In the confusion, Sara disappeared, sprinting as fast as her short Selonian legs could carry her towards the Senate offices. She tested her comlink as she ran, but was met with nothing but shrill screeches on Koronov's private channel. She would have to warn him in person.

Cass notices the Republic counselor ships, freighters, and diplomatic vessels all unloading gear. News travels fast it would seem. Unsure as what the future held for them, their crews were unloading everything. It was for sure that Cass and his new friend were not going to be able to take one of those. Given the relations between Corelia and Ryloth, showing up in an official Corellian ship may not be what they needed. Cass didn't have a ship, but he had a contact that could get one. One that was fast, strong, armed, and supplied. It would take a favor and credits. That last part was why Cass hadn't cashed in on it yet. Now things had changed, he had a partner with credits.
It doesn't look like we will be getting out of here on a Republic ship, and If i may say so. A Corellian diplomatic ship may not be what we need. I have a contact that can get us a ship quickly, if we have the credits.

"In fact, I might be wise to spend them before the news of the Republic's collapse spreads any further." She watched in some surprise as blasterfire rang out from the other end of one of the adjoining hangars, and a shuttle made a rather hasty departure, but it was too far away for her to recognize the parties involved. Still, it was clear that they would be wise to get off world as quickly and inconspicuously as possible. Using her own connections would leave far too much of a paper trail. The more she thought about it, using her companions contact was the only safe choice. "We need speed, and anonymity. Nothing else matters right now."

Cass hears and senses the fire fight a few hangers over. He makes mental note. Multiple combatants, military grade weapons. He extends his awareness to the pack on his back and senses his silver lightsaber in its place in the case. It had been too long since he last used it. Maybe today was the day it would get free. Don't worry, this ship once belonged to a Merc out of Anchorhead. He pulled out his comlink and set it to the desired frequency, Yelmeck... Yes it's me. I am ready to cash in on that favor you owe me. Bring the YT-2400 to the senate hangers, bay G42... Yes that YT-2400... I know that, i have the credits and you are going to give me the friends and family discount... Why? Because if it wasn't for me that ship would still be baking on Tatooine with you locking in its cargo hold that's why... No I will deal Salba if and when the time comes, It's not like I haven't handle him before. Oh and have the ship's registry cleared, I will be naming it myself and I don't want any ill feelings that should be directed at you or Salba... No that you are doing for free... Good we have an agreement, 47,500 credits will work fine, here is the account you can withdraw the funds from... Yes it is a former senator's office, so you know the credits are good... Does it really matter how i got the account? Just make it happen. Tell you what, make it an even 50 if you can have it hear ready to go in 20 min... Don't give me that, we both know it is stocked and ready for space... How do I know that? Because it is the easiest ship you have to run away in, even if it scares you to fly, and a guy like you is always ready to run away. You have 19 min... Good see you then. He put the comlink back on his belt Sorry about that, its done. Will you be ready to do once it gets here? Hearing the escalating firefight. I am not sure how long staying around here will be a safe plan of action.
