Much like the twin worlds, Selonia had been quick to answer the call of the Jedi, to join the Alliance not only because of the medical services that the Five Worlds Medical Center could provide, but also because the Selonian's recognized the need to fight together against the Imperial presence in the outer rim. The decision had been made a bit easier when the Double World Federation had agreed to join the Alliance before them, and so, with their neighbouring planet's agreeing, Selonia had even more reason to sign up

At the spaceport, the transport carrying Graemon Gorgano landed at its designated place. From there, a hovercar, with two of his bodyguards, took him from the spaceport to the meeting place he had requested. He looks at the underground city, quietly examining the planet of Selonia from where he sat. Graemon had never been here, but he knew the history of Corellia and its system well enough. He could see the peace, the tranquility, and yet... the strength of unity. Something that the Galactic Alliance did not have any of, a justified reason enough to abandon ship and seek a better nation to serve. A nation that still desired to see the galaxy free of the First Order's dominance.
The hovercar came to a halt outside the designated meeting area, a government building from the looks of it. Graemon departed from the craft, with his two men on his flanks, as he proceeds up to the building. There, he found a clerk, identifying who he was and why he was here. Now, the Fondorian only had to wait.

The woman looked at the child long before answering -Rhiannon- "No matter; we won't be here long." Outside crewmen busied themselves stocking the ship. Rhiannon had a gut feeling and she intended to work from that. It seemed the way the men were moving that they could feel her urgency. Indeed the woman was terrified but her resolve was deep. Some would call her crazy for what she was about to do but in her heart the woman knew her choice as right

Maureen shook her head. Had she heard that right? They had just landed! Mouth opening to respond to Rhiannon it closed almost as fast as it had opened. She watched as the crew moved along busily. It was like watching that beehive they had on the holonet. All seemed to be scurrying about pointlessly but she knew that each and every move had reason. What reason exactly was beyond the girl. And if it wasn't for the fact that these weirdos shaped the life she lived she could care less what they did. All she wanted to do was eat chocolate.... Maureen had come to the firm conclusion that the universe was in the sorry state of affairs that it was largely because adults were idiots. Working on acquiring a clinical state of depression that would require massive chemical intervention the little girl stared blankly at Grace

The shuttle was being prepared for a long haul. After a brief discussion with Rhiannon the captain had a clear understanding where they were going and a general time frame. From there it was all metric. At long last he made the call -Captain C. Captain- "Ok boys we're ready; get the ladies and we're gone." Men jumped to the orders. Approaching the woman and an officer quietly herded them into the ship. The hanger door shut and they unceremoniously lifted off and departed

CDF Barracks Burrows
For most Selonians, there was nothing quite as refreshing as a good underground night's sleep, in the cool darkness, on their homeworld.
Sara was no different. As the cream-furred Selonian awoke and blinked drowsily at the ceiling of her burrow, she cracked a faint smile. It was good to be home, to stay. After all the things she had done in service to the Corellian Defense Forces, it was hard for her to believe that she had finally gotten a long term assignment back here on her home world. But that couldn't begin until she pried herself out of bed, and reported to CDF headquarters to officially accept her new command. With a sigh, she rolled out of bed and headed for the fresher.
It was a big day in the career of the decorated Colonel. For the first time in five years, she was back on Selonia, and this time, it was to take command of all CDF ground forces in L'pwacc, which served as the capital and primary spaceport for all offworld commerce by non-Selonians. Some of her old friends and mentors would be there, as would all of her new commanders and soldiers. First impressions mattered, and Sara was determined to look sharp, no matter how ridiculous the average fur-covered Selonian looked wearing clothes.
A few minutes later, after showering and then squeezing every drop of water from her fur, Sara donned her best dress whites. She carefully smoothed the gold striped running down her pants, and triple-checked her Colonel's patches and shoulder epaulets.
"Well... I guess it's time."
Walking stiffly out of her burrow on her hind legs, Sara waited for the automatic door to lock behind her before beginning her walk toward the spaceport.

L'pwacc Spaceport
=Dmitri Koronov= The retired Corellian politician had never felt entirely comfortable in the underground cities on Selonia. As much as he respected and valued the Selonian people, and everything they had done for both him personally and the Five Worlds as a whole, there was something unnerving about entering the yawning maw of the L'pwacc Spaceport. Located on one of the oceanic planet's many islands, entering the Den through it's spaceport felt to the human like being eaten by an ancient sea monster. The CDF command and control center that stuck up out of the ground several stories into the air likewise looked like the head of the monster, and its sensor dishes were great googly eyes. But the facility itself was clean and modern, and dotted with many Selonian, Corellian, and foreign spaceships, ranging from personal shuttles up to huge passenger starliners, and ships the size of the largest CEC freighters. No longer was Selonia home only to the coneships of his early youth, when you wondered how the tiny vessels were spaceworthy at all.
As he exited the passenger shuttle that had brought him over from Corellia, Dmitri was hit by the trademark scents of L'pwacc Spaceport: saltwater mixed with earth mixed with fuel oil.
=Cadet= A tawny young Selonian in a CDF cadet's hat was waiting for him, and bowed as soon as his feet hit the tarmac. "Mr. Koronov, sir." She motioned with her paw. "Please follow me."
=Dmitri Koronov= "Lead the way" He said, and fell in step behind the youngster, as they wove their way through the spaceport to the CDF command center entrance and entered a lift. On the way, Koronov caught his reflection in the polished inner door of the lift, and carefully adjusted his Corellian green tie and matching pocket square.

CDF Command Center
=Dmitri Koronov= As the lift doors slid open, Koronov found himself at one end of the main control room of the command center.
The long room ran the entire width of the command center, with sloped transparisteel along the front, overlooking the spaceport. There were comm stations in banks rising away from the windows, and a central command catwalk straight forward from the bank of lifts he had just exited to a viewing platform at the far end of the room. Side platforms extended on both sides from the main catwalk every ten meters or so, and at the center of the room was an extra platform, spanning one of the entire ten meter segments.
On the central command platform, a tall and graying Selonian officer wearing two general's stars stood, deep in conversation with a male Selkath colonel. A few steps away, a younger human female lieutenant stood, holding a datapad and listening attentively.
=CDF Cadet= "Right this way, sir." Koronov's escort spoke in a hushed tone from behind his left elbow. "The VIP seating is on the far platform."
=Dmitri Koronov= The Corellian responded with his feet, walking with the cadet the length of the room, pausing only momentarily to nod to the Major General. When they reached the far end, Dmitri ascended the half-flight of steps to the platform, and found comfortable seating for about twenty guests had been laid out. About half of them were taken, mostly by local Selonian dignitaries.
=Selonian Stranger= "Good day." The closest Selonian, a woman Dmitri did not know, whispered as he took his seat. "We are honored by your presence."
=Dmitri Koronov= "The pleasure is mine, ma'am." He replied. "Col. Ruluwoor is an old friend, and served me well at the Senate."
The simple comment brought back many memories of why he was here today. As a young sergeant in the CDF, Sara has been assigned to Koronov's personal detail during the last months of the Galactic Republic, and had been instrumental in saving his life from rogue elements of the Republic Guard during the galactic government's collapse. While some had blamed the former Senator and Vice Chancellor for the crisis, and others had scattered in confusion, the Selonian had run straight into danger, found Dmitri and helped him fight his way out of the Senate Building on Coruscant. He literally owed her his life.
As he waited for the ceremony to start, Dmitri's gaze shifted from the other arriving delegates to the Spaceport outside. One shuttle in particular drew his attention, as a very familiar figured stepped from it: Admiral Jacen Korr, son of Dmitri's old friend Michael. The retired politician scratched his chin. It was unusual for a naval officer to attend an army function such as this, but then again, the younger Korr had been stationed on Selonia for a time. Sara seemed to have a habit of making friends in high places.

CDF Command Center
Now within eye-shot of the cavernous Spaceport as she ascended from deep underground, Sara turned down a side tunnel and entered the Command Center lobby instead, exchanged cheeky salutes with one of the guards, and then stopped in surprise as she almost ran headlong into a familiar human male. She recognized his scent even before she saw his face.
"A-admiral!"
=Admiral Jacen Korr= Jacen was equally surprised, he hadn't expected to see his old friend until after the ceremony. "Colonel!" Cracking a big Corellian grin, he stood on his tiptoes to give the tall alien a hug. "How have you been?" He didn't let her answer that. "How does it feel to be back on Selonia? I was so happy for you when I heard they'd finally transferred you back to here." He would have kept going, if not for the sudden face full of fur. They had almost three years of catching up to do.
Sara released him after a moment, and shot him a very toothy grin. "Oh, you know me - mixing it up with Corellia's enemies, rolling with the punches, getting shot at, getting threatened, then winning anyway. Lots of winning." She smirked. "The usual." It was good to see her old mentor. "It's amazing to be home, it almost doesn't feel real." She confided. "How about you?"
=Adm. Korr= "Nothing too exciting." Jacen responded. "I've been avoiding the political side of naval operations, as you know. It was fine when we were just the Five Worlds, but I like action more than politics. Coalition politics is too much like the Republic for my tastes. I figure I'll leave it for more qualified parties." His time on the Republic's military council hadn't been pleasant. When the Republic broke apart, he'd initially taken command of all naval operations in the Corellian system, but that had been more as a caretaker until a new structure could be established. He didn't feel ready to follow in his father's footsteps, and was happy to take a back seat when the Coalition appointed new military leadership.
"Pfft. That figures." Sara nodded, her smile fading slightly at the mention of the fallen Republic. "Politics and the military don't mix well."
She sighed. "Anyway, I think I have somewhere to be." She winked. It felt good to be this informal. "Talk after?"
=Adm. Korr= "Absolutely." He paused, and punched a button for the lift. "Good luck, Sara. I'm happy for you."
The Selonian gave him a wave above her head as she disappeared down a side hallway.

CDF Command Center
=Adm. Korr= Arriving at the control level, as he had so many times years ago as liaison between the Navy and the Army on Selonia, a faint smile flickered across his face.
This was where he had first gotten to know Sara, then a young Selonian major commanding a company of troops in the Spaceport garrison. Occasionally, Sara's unit handled ground-side issues dealing with offworlders and/or starships, such as capturing spies who made it to the surface, or impounding illegal cargo or stolen craft. These types of joint operations had led Jacen and Sara to cross paths. When Korr's forces in orbit needed an assist, one of the commanders leading that Army response had been Major Ruluwoor.
Jacen was no stranger to Army ceremonies or local Selonian customs, and he made his own way to the observation platform. He could sense a few curious eyes following him, no doubt wondering the same thing Dmitri had briefly wondered: What was a navy Admiral doing at a ceremony for an Army transfer of command. It was a solemn occasion, to be sure, but a routine one.
=Koronov= Dmitri sprung from his chair when he saw the Admiral, and extended his right hand. "Hello, old friend! I wasn't expecting to see you here today, it seems we have a mutual friend." He clapped Jacen on the shoulder. "How is your father these days?" The elder Korr, Michael, was not only an old friend and ally of Dmitri's, but a decorated Admiral who had retired from the CDF about the same time Koronov retired from politics. Dmitri had a hard time imagining his old friend as a retiree.
=Adm. Korr= "Hello, sir. Good to see you!" He replied, shaking the older man's hand firmly. "Father is finally taking to retirement, or at least, he's gotten better at faking it. He spent about 18 months pacing the house and trying new hobbies, only to get bored with them and generally drive himself and my Mother crazy. But then he discovered deep sea fishing, and that gets him out of the house for several days at a time. It's half physical and half mental, which is exactly what he needed." Jacen raised his index finger as a new thought occurred to him. "They have a summer place in the Gold Beaches, I'm sure he's be delighted if you paid them a visit."

CDF Command Center
Moments after Korr and Koronov had settled into their seats, Sara had appeared through a side door, walking more stiffly and formally than when Jacen had seen her earlier. Her white uniform practically shone under the bright, artificial lights of the command center. Taking up her place at one side of the command walkway, she waited for the General to begin the ceremony. As was custom, she did not speak to or acknowledge anyone upon her arrival, and would not do so until the current commander had officially passed his command to her. Until then, she was a guest.
=Gen. Constance= Seeing that the attendees were in their places, the overseeing general stepped to the front of the room and held up her hand. A hush fell over the command center staff and the assembled visitors as the imposing Selonian woman, her fur flecked with grey beneath her uniform, summoned their respect and attention, and all collectively rose to their feet, the active and retired military members among them snapping to attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am General Constance of the Corellian Defense Forces." Her smooth, almost purring voice was surprisingly deep for a female of her species. "We are assembled here today to recognize the leadership of Colonel Thespa as Ground Commander for L'pwacc Den over the past two years, and to honor Colonel Ruluwoor as she assumes command. Colonel Thespa, please step forward."
=Col. Thespa= Thespa, the uniformed Selkath that Koronov had spotted earlier, stepped forward, followed by a junior officer. His human attaché, who had disappeared from sight for a moment, now stood alongside her outgoing commander, wearing white gloves and straining under the weight of a ceremonial Selonian Glaive. According to legend, the gold-plated glaive had been the personal weapon of the first CDF commander of L'pwacc, and when she was cut down in battle, it had been inlaid with gold and emeralds and passed down from one commander to the next in an unbroken and solemn tradition. Skeptics questioned the actual age of the weapon, and how unbroken the tradition truly was, but it was a symbol of power nonetheless. Thespa took the glaive reverently in both hands, and the young officer retreated.
=Gen. Constance= The general addressed Thespa. "Colonel, thank you for your service to Selonia, and may the Force be with you at your next command." She bowed to the Selkath, then turned to bow to Sara, and to motioned her. "Colonel Ruluwoor, please step forward." She paused while her fellow Selonian did so. "Colonel, do you reaffirm the command officer's oath, as defined in the Code of the Cee Dee Eff, and do you swear to uphold and defend the peace and liberty of Selonia against all threats, even at the expense of your own life? If you do, please affirm by accepting the Glaive of Command from Colonel Thespa."
Sara bowed wordlessly at the question, then stepped forward, and took the Glaive, seizing it firmly in both paws and raising it vigorously in several directions, saluting everyone present. The military officers and retirees returned salute, snapping their hands or paws or similar appendages to their brow. As she waved it, the gold and emeralds encrusting the weapon sparkled and threw colorful shadows.
=Gen. Constance= After a moment, the General motioned for then to be at ease. "Thank you, Colonel. May your command be blessed with peace and success." She paused while the base's new commander handed the Glaive back to the woman who was now Sara's attaché, and then shook hands with both Colonels. Scattered applause broke out, starting in the guest section, and spreading across the command deck and the communications stations.
Sara smiled at the applause, but after a moment, she could feel her cheeks warming beneath her brown fur. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a young lieutenant subtly hurrying forward to help her new assistant with the heavy ceremonial artifact. Raising both paws, she motioned for silence. "Thank you all for coming, and thank to to General Constance and to the Cee Dee Eff for entrusting me with this great honor. It's wonderful to be home on Selonia, and I promise, I won't let you down."
And with that, the formal ceremony was over, and the active duty personnel began to return to their duties, while those who were off duty or guests began to break up into small groups, and a general murmur of conversation returned to the command center.

=Adm. Korr= Rising from his seat as the ceremony concluded, the naval officer waited for Koronov to catch up with him, and descended the steps from the observation platform with the retired politician at his side. "How about you, Senator? I told you about my parents, but I didn't get a chance to ask about your own retirement." There was a traffic jam on the command deck, as the attendees sorted themselves into three categories: those on active duty, those looking to leave without making it look like they were rushing, and those who wished to congratulate Thespa and Ruluwoor.
=Dmitri Koronov= The old Corellian heaved a sigh. "I took about a year off and went home to Tralus and traveled the countryside, enjoying peace and quiet for the first time in over forty years, but eventually, it was too quiet. More recently, I've been traveling more than I have at any time since my ambassadorship, but rather than wrangling soulless politicians, I've been giving guest lectures at almost every university in the Sector." He cracked a crooked smile. "Students are much more receptive and respectful of my ideas and experience." He winked at Jacen. "They may not think I'm smarter than them, but at least I'm enough older that they pretend to listen to me."
=Adm. Korr= "Hah!" The Admiral exclaimed and shook his head. "Father was right, you're crazy. Nothing could possibly convince me to teach at the CDF Academy."
They joined the line to congratulate Col. Ruluwoor, and awaited their turn.

The festivities had continued for hours, leaving Sara feeling very full, both of stomach and of emotion, before she finally found a few moments to herself. Having this much attention and praise heaped upon her had proven to be almost overwhelmingly embarrassing, but at least she had fur to cover her embarrassment, unlike a human. It had been good to see Admiral Korr again, one of her earliest friends and the son of one of her greatest personal heroes, and Senator Koronov, who had been central to some of her proudest moments of her military service thus far, navigating the treacherous waters on Coruscant during the last days of the Galactic Republic.
Looking around the now-vacant reception hall, Sara took a deep breath, and then another, and wiped happy tears from her eyes with a paw. Then, she departed, and made her way back down the turbolifts to the lobby. Tomorrow, she would be in command for real. This afternoon, she needed to process it all, and then she needed to rest. The turbolift doors opened, and she walked through them, almost running over the man who stood waiting for her in the lobby, a big grin on his face.
=Dmitri Koronov= "Colonel!" The old Corellian exclaimed, catching her arm to stop himself from falling.
Sara started, then blinked a could of times, and burst out laughing. "You again, Senator?" She asked. "Pardon me, but I thought you'd gone home an hour ago."
=Koronov= Dmitri laughed. "You know it's not that simple. I can't set foot on any of the Five Brothers without being invited to fourteen consecutive dinner parties." A mischievous twinkle sprung into his eye. "Which is why I'm going to skip all of them." He winked. "I was actually about to catch a ferry over to the Five Worlds Medical Center. My old aide Aylee works over there now, and couldn't get anyone to cover her shift, so we're going to catch a quick supper in the hospital cafe. Do you remember her? I'm sure she'd love to see you again."
Sara shook her head in amazement. Same old Koronov. "I'm tired, Senator." She protested. "It's been a long day already. Do you know how many hands, paws, and claws I've shaken today---." She cut herself off as she realized what she was saying. Today for her must be every day for a politician. "--Fine. You win. Give me ten minutes to get rid of this blasted uniform, and I'll meet you at the ferry." The Selonian looked down at her dress uniform. "My people were never meant to wear clothes. Don't tell anyone I said this, but I hate this ... frilly sheet." Her nose twitched indignantly.
=Koronov= "Excellent!" He replied, cracking a half-smile. "I'll see you there." And almost as if by magic, the man melted into the crowd.

Overden
After making the journey from Corellia, Jedi Knight Caterina Bernardi and her Padawan learner, Elena Gallo, had spent some time exploring the underground city before, having been sent to act as the Watchmen of Selonia, making their way to the Overden to meet with Selonia's highest ranking Queen, Neakita.
"Do you think we can visit the Cloudland Peaks, Master? Elena asks Caterina excitedly, I'd love to see a Terxy!"
Caterina smiles as she replies, "I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to see all of the unique sights Selonia has to offer. We will be staying here for the foreseeable future after all." Once they have reached the Overden, Caterina informs the female Selonian warriors stationed outside that they are here to meet with Neakita, explaining that she and her Padawan have been sent from Corellia to act as the Jedi Watchmen of Selonia.

Overden
Neakita, clearly several months pregnant as she lounges on a comfortable sofa in her cave like underground office, waves a hand to dismiss Atharv - the scrawny fertile Selonian male responsible for her latest pregnancy - when Caterina and her apprentice are escorted in by Kimimila - a sterile female Selonian warrior that serves as her main bodyguard - to meet with her. While Neakita would normally wear something other than jewelry to meet with off-world visitors, she trusts the Jedi will not be offended as they are more likely to understand Selonians do not subject themselves to putting on clothes on their homeworld, especially when they are several months pregnant. One of the relatively few Selonians that speak Basic in addition to Mandaba - running her large mining business which has clients on many worlds other than Selonia all but requiring that she learn Basic, which has come in handy since her selection as Selonia's representative in the Five Worlds governmental system - Neakita greets Caterina and her apprentice warmly, "Welcome to L'pwacc Den, Knight Bernardi and Padawan Gallo. Patting one of her younger children, a sterile female named Soatsaki, on the head and whispering for her to go and play nearby, Neakita says, I understand you and your Padawan are Jedi healers, Knight Bernardi? In light of that, I have had quarters arranged for you near to the Five Worlds Medical Center, where I imagine you will be spending your time when not helping CorSec or the CDF with matters that could benefit from the assistance of a Jedi Watchman and her Padawan learner?"
Fanning herself languidly, Neakita smiles as she explains, "I've never worked with the Jedi before, much less with a Jedi Watchman, so hope you will forgive me if I seem ignorant of how we should proceed now that we've been introduced. What can I do to help you settle into your role here on Selonia? Venturing a guess or two, she asks, Introduce you to the CorSec and CDF leaders here as a start, I suppose, but what else?"

Elena, save for smiling and waving to the Selonian youngling that Neakita sends away to play, does her best to stay still and just observe her Master as she and the Queen speak together.
Caterina bows when Neakita welcomes her and Elena to L'pwacc Den, nodding in agreement when the Selonian Queen says that she had been told that Caterina and her Padawan learner are healers and explains their quarters will be near to the Five Worlds Medical Center, saying, "That is most considerate, and we both thank you for the opportunity to hone our skills in the art of healing."
Smiling with a chuckle after Neakita says that she has not worked with a Jedi Watchman before, Caterina explains, "As it is our first time being Watchmen, I suppose we will have to learn how to make the most of the arrangement together, won't we? Pursing her lips in thought when asked what else Neakita might do to help her and Elena go about their duties as Watchmen other than see that they meet with CorSec and CDF leaders, Caterina asks, What can you tell us about any specific problems you are facing here on Selonia? The more informed we are about things that are troubling you and your people, the better we will be at planning ways we can help."

Neakita, after pausing a moment to think of anything that has been occurring recently on Selonia that a Jedi's help would be needed, says, "Well, we have, now that I think of it, had a recent string of jewelry store robberies here in L'pwacc Den that has stumped CorSec, waving a hand towards Caterina as she suggests, And, naturally, CorSec may have others things they are pursuing that your assistance would be welcome in, chuckling as she adds, I imagine they would be better suited than I to telling you the ways in which you can be of use."
Continuing to fan herself idly, Neakita adds, "Of course, should I need your counsel in matters of government, or learn of anything happening that sounds as though it were up your alley, so to speak, I will reach out to you personally. And, if you ever need anything from me, I trust it goes without saying that I hope you do not hesitate to contact me."
