The Dark Jedi Order: Elniri's Rescue Principal Authors: The Fallen , @mariahshadows , @sen , Elniri Who can post on this thread: Principal Authors Only I want to receive critical responses: No I will be using standard Universe rules here (e.g., canon-only, fleet limits, etc.): Yes Location: Ruusan Timeframe: Three Months after the Dark Jedi Order Inhabits Ambria Upon the planet Ruusan, a Sith Alchemist known as Sen Loake hid within his underground laboratory, where he experimented on countless live subjects, both sentient and not. One of his accomplices was set on a simple mission: infiltrate a new faction, a sister alliance of the Blackguard Reborn, their precise target. A variable the alchemist hadn't anticipated, however, was the keen attention of the Dark Jedi's Empress, trained in subterfuge over decades of criminal activity. A task issued by Mariah Shadows, this spy was tracked down by Count Aderon Dooku, but their target and purpose remained an enigma. Once confirmation of their location reached the Empress' ears, she issued the orders to seek and destroy, a feat she would revel in personally, thus spearheading the mission of their eradication. Refusing his Empress to take charge alone, Ifrit Bladeweaver gathered his own forces to accompany her. Now looming over the planet of Ruusan, the team awaits further orders within the Empress' personal freighter--the Void.

~ Ruusan's Orbit within Mariah Shadows' XS Stock Light Freighter: the Void ~ About half a dozen bodies sat within the few seats within the conference room, leaving the vast remainder to stand in the empty space. At the front stood the Empress of the Dark Jedi -- Mariah Shadows. In truth, there were a few gathered here that had never seen their Empress up close like this, and others who had yet to see her without the shroud of a cloak. On the flip side, Mariah's personal vessel had never harbored much life within it. Despite the unlikely circumstances for everyone, leaving the air thick with an unexplainable tension, the petite woman effortlessly gathered their attention, be it from her eerily calm yet commanding tones or her ghostly complexion framed by blood-hued hair."As all of you are undoubtedly aware by my original missive. For our new members gathered by the Fallen, however, let me recap: our Order has been infiltrated," Mariah emphasized with a faint scowl. "The details of their mission still remain unknown. With the valiant efforts of a newcomer by the name of Aderon Dooku, we were able to track down and pinpoint their escape efforts to the very planet we are about to descend upon." With a quirk of her eyebrow, the crimson-haired woman turned her fiery gaze that matched her locks to the small holoterminal set on the table. The woman quickly inputted the commands for a holomap to buzz to life before narrowing down onto the world of Ruusan. The planet was set alight with a bluish glow as it turned slowly on its axis to reveal a rough yet monochromatic realism of the surface terrain. Mariah stood back to her full height and locked her attention on her gathered team, with The Fallen and his Praetorian Guard to match."Although we have no leads to their mark or confirmation that they were successful, we must assume they were and that their goal is to bring down our Order before it has the chance to truly begin. Thus, I've headed this effort to eliminate them before their damage can be done, and why you all are here." Mariah chose her words carefully, attempting to instill some semblance of urgency and necessity to the group. She hid her disgust well to act with feigned nobility and sincerity. That was a part of her own mission if she wanted a chance of success, after all. With all the dramatic encouragement aside, Mariah turned back to the holoterminal and further zoomed in on the planet. A few commands deep, the Empress stopped, allowing an aerial shot of the surface to hover in the air. Another beat passed, and the holomap corrected itself, offering a rather uneventful view of Ruusan's typical terrain."We were able to confirm that our infiltrator fled to these coordinates." It was sure to cause a few arched eyebrows or questionable stares, but the small warrior continued on with her briefing as calm and collected as usual. Before anyone could pose a question against her, Mariah typed in another command. A network of caverns lit up underneath the terrain and began to slowly spin to reveal its size and vastness, all hidden from the surface."With the way this group has been operating and the intel gathered by Count Dooku, I find it highly plausible that this is where they dwell. However, we have no confirmation of their defenses, and we must act as though they are fully aware of our arrival. Subtlety will be our ally for the first phase of our mission. For phase one, I will take charge of the Reapers, and we will sneak in through the air shafts, here, here, and here." As Mariah indicated the weak points of such a compound, the shafts to the surface alighting on the holomap as she pinpointed them. That was the thing about these kinds of bases. Although they were hidden from the eye, the moment they were compromised, they had enough weak points for a planned attack like this to go off without a hitch. Ideally, they could have dropped a high-powered weapon on them, forcing the laboratory to cave in on itself. However, that would render an essential task in Mariah's mission impossible. Therefore, they would need to breach their compound and do this the long way. Access points from the surface were a necessity and thus the easy option. However, there was a slight issue posed as Mariah glanced about the gathered group. Almost all who she had chosen for this mission were Twilight Mages or Void Knights. Ifrit had only brought a handful of the Praetorian Guard, and finesse wasn't exactly their strong suit. The only true Phantom Reaper standing among them occupied the head seat of this meeting. The Empress' gaze shifted slightly towards Ifrit. With a knowing shimmer in those crimson eyes, a faint, dark smile crept on her lips--there and gone before any acquaintance could catch it. It wasn't an oversight on her part. It was a tactical decision. As that realization set in, Mariah keyed in one last command, and the rest of the shafts leading to the surface faded back to match the rest of the hollow compound. All but one--a tunnel that should lead her to the hangar bay, if Aderon's information had any merit. The Empress then took a step back, allowing her attention to sweep the room, to issue her conclusion of the first phase of this mission."Once the Reapers have located the compound's defenses and gathered a general layout for a proper assault, it will be communicated back to the Fallen for phase two to commence. Any questions?"

Ifrit stood at the back of the room, leaning his back against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. Tribune Brutus Terrano and Praetorian Fabia Verania set at the table, while the remaining members of the Praetorian Guard stood assembled behind the pair. They were the only Non-Force Sensitives on this mission that would be going into combat for certain. Meaning they would need to work twice as hard to keep up with the Void Knights and Twilight Mages that Mariah had brought along. A fact Ifrit could sense was weighing all too heavily on each of their minds. But one that he knew would not slow them down.
As the Fallen Empress began her briefing, Brutus' attention was immediately upon her. Making notes as she spoke about the mission they were about to embark upon, making clear where his focus was. Ifrit, however, seemed to be a little less focused upon the briefing material being presented than Brutus was. But then it was always difficult to figure out where Ifrit's attention was, unless you could sense the Force. In which case it would be apparent he was watching Mariah and listening as she laid out the battle plan. A fairly straight forward mission all things considered. But few things were ever truly straight forward, and few battle plans ever seemed to survive the first encounter with the enemy.
Brutus finished scribbling down some notes when the Fallen Empress paused for a moment and asked if there were any questions. Their goal was simple: get in, eliminate the threat to the Dark Jedi Order, and get out. Work that the Crusader Army had been formed to assist with None so far Empress...

Mariah was hardly an elite commander or a skilled strategist when it came to the workings of war. She had handled herself, and only herself, for so many years. Not only was it more efficient, but it was also easier. This meeting was proving her point. In part, that was why she had chosen to leave everyone behind for the first phase. Her mission would be like all the others in her younger years while on Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant, Corellia--wherever she could manage to find a job exploiting her abilities.
As her question rang in the air, she awaited some kind of push back, even from the Fallen. When none came, with only the resounding agreement from Brutus at the table, Mariah exhaled. Shutting off the holomap, Mariah floated over two steps to center herself before everyone, her crimson eyes scanning the room again in the eerie quiet. She could have heard a pin drop, with all silently watching her, awaiting their instructions. In truth, that was all the Empress had for them. She had already spent enough time looking it over and analyzing her best place to invade. For now, that was all that mattered. What she found inside this underground laboratory was imperative for Ifrit to instruct both his and her soldiers into phase two.
"Very good," Mariah murmured with a nod of her head towards all gathered. "Once I'm able to relay intel back to the Fallen, he will then take charge for phase two. You are to wait for his instructions and act precisely to his command. Do I make myself clear?"
One stray blaster going off while lying in wait, and she would be the end of them. What more, she didn't know if these non-Force Guardsmen felt the fire to prove themselves alongside of the Void Knights and Twilight Mages that one would suffer a detrimental hero-complex. Her question resonated sharply, while a fiery warning burned in her gaze as she shot down each and every person gathered, finding Ifrit at the very end. Mariah would wait until she had received their collective verbal understanding before dismissing them, however creeping her mind to hold him there while every other Knight, Mage, and Guard excused themselves to prepare for the coming strike.
"I assume you and your men are ready, no matter the odds we end up facing," she inquired quietly with a faint cock of her head. "You'll have mine at your disposal as well. Command and use them as you see fit. Whatever it takes to secure a victory today."
Briefly, the Empress' gaze shifted over as she watched the few last stragglers leave the conference room and pour out into the ship's corridors. She wondered just how many of them would actually see a second of battle. If all went the way that Mariah planned, she would have half the compound bathed in blood and death by the time her backup arrived. Defenses were only so good, and now, the crimson-haired woman had even more tricks up her sleeve to get inside and render them useless.
"I plan to make an example of these spies today, Ifrit, no matter the cost. Ensure that resonates with your every command."

Note: As requested by his writer, The Fallen will be NPC'd under Mariah Shadows' account for the remainder of Elniri's Rescue. The Fallen and the Empress had remained within the Void's conference room for several minutes after all others had departed and discussed the future plans of this mission in private. The second phase relied heavily on what Mariah found once she was inside the underground laboratory. Still, some planning was necessary to ensure that this mission would see only a few casualties on the battlefield's assaulting side. Mariah may have been prepared to sacrifice everything to ensure she snuffed out the life from these deplorable beings, but she was also precise and far from reckless. It was clear once they had reached an understanding. An issued command submerged the light freighter into the atmosphere and make its descent towards the indicated coordinates. As instructed, Ifrit kept the charge over the Void Knights, the Twilight Mages, and the Praetorian Guard while they prepared themselves for the coming battle. With only a few parting words to the rest of the squad, Mariah departed with the eerie calm of certainty and determination, like death itself guided her footsteps to lead her to its next victims. The rest were stationed at another location indicated on the holomap. There, they would wait for the signal, something the Fallen advised would be made clear by the Empress when the time came. It was unsettlingly apparent that he was still flying blind despite the risky decisions made by his Empress. All they could do now, though, was wait for her signal.Scaling the rock face of the canyon, Mariah kept her mind sharp and her movements precise. One wrong move and she would find herself free falling to her untimely demise. However, this was easier than scaling the Temple to its rooftops. Once she found the smooth exterior of man-made material to disrupt the natural stone, Mariah made her next move without a beat of hesitation. Mariah had hidden her presence with a cloak of the Force the moment her feet stepped off the Void's boarding ramp. With her entry point now marked, she dangled herself with one hand attached to the canyon face and tugged a pendant ring from under her shirt. A quiet incantation whispered from her lips lit up one of the enchanted jewels with an emerald glow, and the Force magicks wrapped themselves around her body, hiding the crimson-haired woman away with a Spell of Concealment. With her and her array of saber hilts and athames attached to her belt now hidden by Force and by sight, Mariah carefully pushed her way into the ventilation shaft. With the guidance and manipulation of the Force, the Empress ensured that she made no noise to alert anyone within the laboratory and that they would be none-the-wiser that they had even been compromised. All would have appeared normal, felt normal, was normal. Now, all Mariah needed was to locate her target before burning this place to Chaos' deepest levels. The clear signal to the rest of her troops? The Empress would ensure thick clouds of smoke and the pungent stench of death rose to the surface to greet them. Soon enough.

Work had continued to progress as Sen and his team worked to build their roster of demonic creatures of his own design. Soon, they would be ready to begin their assault against the Blackguard. Despite the growing eagerness to bring this order of Sith to their knees, the Sith master had to remember patience. A trait most rare among his kind but it served its purpose well if one had the strength to follow it. And in this case, patience was required to ensure that all preparations were complete to assault the Blackguard in their blindspots. They had no fleets or ships worthy of serious combat, the only craft within the hangar being a couple of Twilight scout ships, a few other light freighters, then a few larger freighters that were capable of carrying vast amounts of cargo and passengers for their size. These were the keys to their victory. With the knowledge gained of the Blackguard through their work within the Dark Jedi, they could slip in virtually unhindered with their landing clearance. From within their own bases would these creatures swarm and destroy before any could grasp what was happening.
Sen sat within the main lab when he felt a strange sensation. The presence of others touched his mind, though they were faint. For the moment, he continued his work, barely focusing on them as he viewed them as people simply passing by. However, it was when he felt them grow closer that Sen stopped his work as contacted Lilith on his comms. It seems we have some visitors arriving. Be a gem and gather together a welcoming party. We must be generous hosts and show them our full hospitality. Never should we forget our manners.
After an acknowledgment from his follower, Sen chuckled a bit as he headed further back into his main chamber. He suspected the Dark Jedi had somehow tracked them. It was no matter. He had expected it, despite Lexi's skills and certainty she wasn't followed. After all, it had been a month or so since the Zeltron had returned. So even if anyone suspected anything during his follower's time there, they had to work to locate them. By what he could sense, they were close, but still, a ways off from the lab. Whether they knew its location and were preparing their assault or they still had to locate it was unknown, but Lilith would ensure they never made it. At least, not willingly. They would become the next batch of subjects in his experiments.
Gaining access to the lab was nearly impossible except through the hangar. From within the large bay would they have to pass through the holding cells and cages of his completed experiments, the main labs, then finally reaching the private quarters and housing of the members that existed within. The halls and shape of the overall lab were direct with only a single entrance leading to the surface from the hangars alongside the main hangar doors.

Void. Agony. Pain.
Fear.
That's silly. A Maelibus shouldn't feel fear. Why would she feel fear? Because she was frightened? Scared by this puny megalomaniac and his pawns, which she will carve limb from limb, if she ever got the chance to break out of here? No, of course not, why would she fear being held captive, as she felt weak and vulnerable- Elniri's thoughts stopped, as she tried to not freak out about her situation.
It was now days... weeks... months...? since she has been captured and yet nothing had changed. No single chance to escape, no single weakpoint within the chains that bound her to this place, no chance to get out of here.
H-he- No! These were weak thoughts! Maelibus don't cry for help! No predator with pride would do that. Hel...l... Hell. Felt definitly like it. With her cagemaster, the one, who captured her, being it's prime warden. The disgusting part about this whole situation was for Elniri, that she nearly began to respect this man, thinking of him nearly as a superior predator, an Alpha. But there was no honor in his spine, she knew that. What Alpha would bind his own pack in chains, keep them trapped where it was, solely to suffer.
...
Maybe she should just die. But wouldn't that mean giving up? Just giving up... like this? It could be so easy... but it feels also humiliating. So pointless. Having suffered for so long just to give up? She nearly was at this point. Maybe that was why she nearly begged in her thoughts for
...
Help...

The hangars were far emptier than Mariah had anticipated. She wasn't sure if it was a good sign or not. Either there were several more groups dispatched elsewhere, or this really was just a small ragtag group of darksiders who would soon learn that they bit off more than they could chew in choosing her as their enemy. It was no matter; her mission remained the same.
She kept her small frame hidden in the rafters above--not like as much mattered with the Spell of Concealment, a boon the Empress wasn't used to having-- as she climbed her way across the ceiling and towards the hangar exit that would grant her team passage. With her hair secured tightly in a bun behind her head, she was able to see everything clearly without the hindrance of a crimson veil. Her first goal was ensuring an entry point for her men once she had found what she came for. Slinking her hand into the pouch secured on her belt, the assassin snuck and fastened a spherical, metallic object behind the manual console. A bomb--and when detonated, it would be the signal the group needed on the surface.
The entry point is secured. The place appears emptier than I had hoped, Ifrit. Wait for further investigation.
Excellent, the demon rumbled back, his voice clear as though he stood side-by-side with her. We wait for your command, Empress.
The mental connection they shared at this moment went far past such easy conversation. If one was wounded, the other would know in excruciating detail. What more, their emotional status was shared, and Mariah could sense the misplaced concern Ifrit felt for her, performing this first phase alone. She thanked the Force that he kept as much to himself. From her, she was the epitome of calm determination. Fear had no place in her heart. Death was imminent for all, but it wasn't she who would die here.
Keeping herself to the edges of the laboratory walls, Mariah walked with quiet steps to ensure that the Spell was not disrupted. That was always the tricky thing with these arts. One wrong move, and they were shattered. Lingering by the door, she would need someone to open it for her if she wanted to remain undetected. The simple way was to cut the lock from the hangar into the rest of the lab with her lightsaber, but with this mission, she couldn't cut corners.
Her crimson eyes glanced throughout the expanse littered with a few ships here and there until she found a stack of supply boxes piled off to the side. Mariah outstretched a hand towards the haphazard tower, and with the Force, she caused the top to come crashing down, creating an impossible-to-ignore 'CLASH' to resonate through the hangar. As she had hoped, someone eventually came running to investigate, allowing her passageway inside.
"Who stacked the supplies?" she heard one yell angrily into a comlink. "I'm going to have your neck if anything got damaged."
Now is not the time, cut in the reply. We need your beautiful little face and dazzling personality back here pronto. We have more important things on the surface we're prepar-
The door hissed behind Mariah, cutting her off from hearing the rest of the conversation. ~ Great, ~ she thought in dark amusement with a hidden, malicious smirk to match. Her men on the surface were noticed, and it was just the distraction she needed to keep herself as the unknown shadow, lurking in corners of this underground lab. Still, she had a job to do and a fatal point to make before they met with her men. Her countdown had begun.
In the second chamber, cages and cells lined the walls and even created their own corridors throughout the spacious cavern. Growls and cries echoed with chaotic enthusiasm as these experiments attempted to break out of their contaminants. Mariah raised a questioning eyebrow. ~ A Sith Alchemist, ~ she thought to herself in acknowledgment. It was brief, a simple note of the creature's existence. She hadn't anticipated this, and thus, she hadn't brought enough detonators to take out all of the beasts. Chances were, though, that she could use those creatures to aid in the demise of the lab before ridding them from the galaxy all the same. Mayhem was a powerful tool.
Still, the Empress assassin placed a few strategic, hidden bombs throughout this section before pressing on to the next. With the coming and goings within the lab, slipping through was an easy enough task. Bacta tanks and growth chambers lined the expanse of the following chamber. New creations--as the realization struck Mariah, so did their cries within the Force. Pain. Suffering. Mariah moved as usual, apathetic to their pleas. In due time, they would be freed from their torment.
Throughout all of this, Mariah searched. However, what she was looking for seemed to elude her. The murmurs and shouts of her gathering enemy resonated just beyond. If she delved any deeper into the laboratory, Mariah risked the success of the Dark Jedi's mission. With a faint snarl, caught in her throat, the Empress deemed it was time to end her personal endeavor here and now. She centered herself within the room, the tanks surrounding her on all sides.
Breathing in a deep breath, Mariah closed her eyes and gathered her concentration and power inward. She murmured quietly under her breath, her concealment spell rippling like a mirage under the desert sun. Now was the time to act. A faint movement, Mariah triggered the explosives set throughout the laboratory. An ear-shattering 'BOOM' echoed, each bomb taking out anyone in its immediate surroundings. An earthquake ruptured through the laboratory's entirety, leaving trails of fire, smoke, and ash in their wake.
The signal.
Mariah's eyes snapped open. Opening her stance into a grounding, powerful motion, she outstretched her hands to either side. A Force Wave pulsed around the small, crimson-haired woman, shattering the tank glass in her immediate surroundings. Her Spell of Concealment shattered with it, leaving her standing out in the open to those who would rush to find her. The liquid spilled, littering the floors with bodies, bacta, and Force knew whatever else these twisted individuals used.
Allies and enemies alike--they would be here soon. Mariah remained in her power stance, however drawing back her hands to one side. A final syllable parted from her tongue and hung in the air in wait.

Sen continued his work, moving from the main lab back to his personal chambers in the very back of the facility. He had faith enough in Lilith's abilities and the work he put into her to handle their guests. With that, he could continue reviewing the most recent data that was collected on the ever-growing subjects throughout the lab, his mind not even slightly concerned about what was to come.
As the crimson-haired woman worked her way slowly through the lab, placing her bombs, Lilith had made her way into the hangar, the two passing each other in the cages. She had gotten word of the storage crates toppling over and would be sure to deal with the ones in charge of handling them in a very harsh manner. Many supplies existed within these crates and any kind of damage could put Sen's work back. The men gathered themselves at the woman's command. She began preparing the debriefing when suddenly the area began to rip itself apart as flames engulfed the area. The facility shook and broke up, the telltale sign of detonators being set off. And with it, the ships and men present within the hangar were killed and destroyed.
All but one of them, that was.
Emerging from the flames, Lilith looked around as the flames began to die down a bit. She gave off a deep, resonating growl, like that of a demon upon seeing the destruction. Her body seemed burned and charred as streaks of burning orange ran across her skill like rivers of magma. Yet, she seemed unaffected. Her fists clenched tightly as she felt a surge in the Force further in. It seemed that their guests had a sneaky little pest that needed to be dealt with before anything else. Without her men, dealing with the ones on the surface would be a greater task, despite her capabilities. With the hangar blown open, it was likely the Dark Jedi would enter through there. As such, she'd release the beasts they had caged to deal with them. As for her, she had a bug to burn.
Turning from the entrance, she progressed back into the lab, her body returning to normal.
Being a bit deeper in the lab, the shaking and sounds weren't as severe as it was where the bombs went off, but it was far from unnoticeable. Sen looked up from his work and stepped up to the window that overlooked the hall as the power cut for a moment, the lights turning red as the emergency power came back on. "So it seems someone was able to find their way in after all. Curious." The destruction of the labs and some of his creatures, most being his newly created beasts did put a damper in his plans. That was months and years worth of work, gone in an instant. However, despite this, he wasn't upset. He had made his way through the trial and error stages with them, allowing him all the data he needed to replicate the process with ease. Collecting new supplies and specimens would be the annoying task of it all. Luckily, he had many new ones just waiting to find their way to the operating table. "Well, come then. Face the fruits of my labor and become the next in my experiments. I'm sure you will all have much more to offer."
As the base shook from the explosions, some of Sen's men ran into the labs from deeper into the facility. It was there they were met with the violent wave that rushed away from the crimson-haired woman. Relentless and powerful, the men were slung back viciously, their bodies colliding with anything that was behind them. The force of the wave was strong enough that once they hit and beams, rails, broken tubes, or the wall, they died from the impact, whether blunt force trauma, broken bones, or ran through by broken glass. The labs became a gruesome mess of destruction and death.
Liith made her way through the cages, unleashing the beasts within as she heard the arrival of the Dark Jedi in the hangar. As they were released, they looked at Lilith with a deathly stare but didn't move. It wasn't until she spoke and pointed to the hangar that they took off, heading for the intruders. Through the experiments, Sen had successfully manipulated the minds of every beast, ensuring absolute loyalty. They obeyed the commands given by those Sen deemed worthy of it. Any others would be devoured and ripped apart with no mercy.
Hearing the roars and sounds of battle, Lilith moved further into the area, reaching the labs. There she saw the men thrown about, their lives ended, and the destroyed lab with so much work gone. And there, at the center, stood the one who had snuck in. Removing her lightsaber, she ignited the red blade as she casually walked up to Mariah. "That's quite a ballsy move you made, sneaking in here and causing all this destruction. I hope you're proud for it'll be the last accomplishment you ever achieve." At that moment, the charred body and orange streaks that existed on Lilith's body after the explosion returned, her eyes burning orange. "But don't worry. I won't damage you too much. I know Sen will want to use you in his next experiment."

On the surface, Ifrit had separated the team into three groups. Each was composed of both the Empress's men and his own. His own Praetorian Guard would lead each squad into the hellfire Mariah created. Behind them would be Mariah's Twilight Mages, and their flank would be protected by the Void Knights. Once the explosions shook the surface, fire and smoke rising into the atmosphere, the demon and his teams set forth into the wreckage.
Although they expected to meet men, there wasn't a beat of hesitance from the Guard as they took up arms against the animals that ravaged the laboratory. The clash of shields, the hum of lightsabers, and the ominous chanting--the song of battle was well-rehearsed by those that stormed the hangar.
Within the inferno's roar and battle cries, Ifrit had one mission set on his mind--to defeat all those who stood in their path and find the Empress.
Deep within the laboratory, where the newer experiments were scattered among the men who had enslaved them, Mariah was poised for the first real challenge that would face her. These lackeys that pathetically lay dead couldn't possibly have been all the resistance that these dark siders had. No one that weak could have infiltrated her order.
A woman then approached her with a casual and confident demeanor. Mariah had already begun her incantation, summoning the flicker of a dark smile upon her lips. What the woman taunted didn't matter; she would be silenced just as quickly as the others. However, as her final syllable hung into the air, Mariah's crimson eyes caught sight of seared skin, cracking with a burning light from within. This woman--it didn't take a genius to put two and two together.
Mariah's hands floated away from her side, light which matched her foe's trailing from the flames on her fingertips. Although this spell was meant for the first being the Empress came across, it didn't take a seer to know how that would have played out. Mariah snarled. She aimed her flames towards a hissing vent above the woman, damaged and spewing a gaseous substance into the air. With any luck, Mariah would cause further damage to this dump and dislodge a few metallic beams to come crashing down on Lilith.
The outcome, though, was of no concern, so long as she did not inadvertently fuel this hellish experiment.
The Empress had no words for what she could only assume was an advanced experiment of the alchemist--her true target. If her foe was smart, she wouldn't have had any words for Mariah, either, and dealt with the intruder swiftly. Talking always wasted valuable time--time Lilith didn't have.
With Mariah's hands now free from her channeled incantation, she summoned a burning red blade to life in her left hand.
The beasts were no match for the team of three groups. With the Praetorian Guard taking the front, they acted as the first line of defense. In swift succession, the Twilight Mages incanted spells of various kinds, putting each creature to rest as swiftly and mercifully as possible. For any beast who managed to press past the Guard, they were met with the cruel attention of the Knights and their lightsabers.
Slowly making ground, all three teams, with the Fallen as their commander, pressed inside from the hangars. Per their Empress's command, any living thing in their path would fall. With the beasts dealt with, though, it was only a matter of time before they pressed as far forward as the Empress herself…
Mariah heard the whoosh of doors open behind her, Ifrit's looming presence at the front and center of the team. She huffed a faint laugh as she took to Niman's opening position.
Glad you saw the signal.
There were faint sarcasm and snark to her tones to unsurprisingly match her words to Ifrit's blindfolded eyes.
Glad you're still alive. It appears you could use some help.
The teams rushed in, ever ready to back up their Empress and leader of this assault. As they began to storm the laboratory, room by room, there one pressing matter -- what lay deeper within remained a mystery, and Mariah had yet to find what she was looking for. In the time it took to blink, Mariah had tugged at her opponent within the Force, to draw her near as though to attack--a typical draw closer technique easily recognized by any familiar with the style. However, instead of following through, the Empress's actual goals surfaced. She drew the woman closer to her attackers, the crimson-haired woman leaping over the volcanic woman with swiftness and elegance.
Never. She was only an inconvenience. I have bigger marks on my list. Deal with her for me.
Mariah's feet hit the ground, shattered glass crunching under her weight. Without looking back, the Empress sprinted towards further into the laboratory. Although Ifrit was concerned for the Empress's haste while within enemy territory, she had time and time again proven herself as a capable warrior able to hold her own.
"Attack!"
The men and women gladly heeded Ifrit's order, sending a barrage of attacks, both physical and Force-fueled, towards Lilith and her surroundings, further damaging the structural integrity of the underground laboratory.
"Do not let her pursue the Empress!"

The beasts tore into the hangar, attacking all that entered the destroyed hangar bay. Having been directed by Lilith's command, all others were meat to be devoured. Yet, despite the mass of rushing creatures, the Praetorian Guard was able to bring the assault to a halt with their shields. Bearing the line that held the experiments back, it gave the others time to move into position and prepare attacks as the guards made their own as the opportunity came. Such a defense allowed for the Dark Jedi forces to burn through the creatures quickly, especially considering their numbers had been either cut or injured in the initial explosions.
As such, the invading forces were able to press forward into the building rather quickly.
Lilith stared at Mariah, ready to strike. Yet, before she could make a move, a surge of contained fire shot up into the ceiling around some of the gases that were venting into the lab. The woman followed the attack, letting her eyes settle upon the remnant flames for a moment before gazing at Mariah once more, a wide smirk across her face. "Well, well. A sorceress. What a surprise. Sen will most certainly be thrilled with you." Amused by the crimson-haired woman, Lilith looked her over as she began to walk around her like a beast stalking and toying with its prey. "Such a shame that it had to be a spell of fire. I should have held back my secret for a little longer if only see the look of terror when I emerged unscathed. But I supposed I'll have to make due. After all, if you intended to start with that, I suspect it was your strongest ability."
Stopping opposite the door she entered, Lilith took a moment to examine the woman's stance. Mariah had said nothing, not letting anything be revealed. The demon woman wasn't stupid and held her abilities as a tactician. As a combatant, she was the strongest, even surpassing Sen in physical combat. That was why she was the leader under him. And through her skills, she could see that her enemy was far from taking things seriously. It would be her downfall. "No words? A shame. I'll just have to make you scream. It'll be a wonderful symphony, I'm sure."
She had no time to move as the door behind Mariah opened and the Dark Jedi forces began to move in. Her eyes squinted as she focused on Mariah. In the end, she had stalled. Not that it would matter. She'd bring them all to their knees, starting with Mariah. It was then she felt the Force pulling on her. Seeking to use it to her advantage, Lilith lept with the pull at Mariah, yet as she slashed, the woman flipped over her without a single hit. Her momentum carried her forward, only stopping herself just in front of Ifrit and his soldiers. She then noticed that Mariah didn't seek to engage but worked to run further into the building. And she couldn't give chase as the soldiers surrounded her, forcing her attention on them. She could only hope that the others could bring her to an end.
As Mariah moved down the halls, she grew closer and closer to the end where Sen waited. But Lilith was far from the only one within the labs that served as its protectors. Rounding a corner, the crimson-haired woman would find herself face to face with a pair of women already armed and ready. The first, Lexi, the very same Zeltron who had infiltrated the Dark Jedi. With her was an Echani, Lolelia, each carrying a single purple lightsaber.
"Well, well. The Empress of the Dark Jedi herself. What an honor. For as locked away as you typically are, I'm surprised that you of all people would come out here."
"I think your skill in infiltration are starting to dull, Lexi. You are your seduction techniques aren't getting the job done if they are finding their way back to us."
Oh, please. My skills are flawless." She then looked to Mariah, the pheromones radiating off of her now. "After all, you really don't want to fight us, right?"
From his chambers, Sen watched as the fight continued on through the lab. The cameras remained functional as he examined everyone's progress. It was a shame to watch all his creatures fall so quickly. Yet, he couldn't deny to hindrance they faced in the initial attack. If anything, though, it served as valuable tests in seeing how his current forces would hold against the Blackguard. Clearly, they would need to be altered a bit.
Watching as the forces pressed into the lab, Lilith was now caught up in the fray after losing their forward guard. Issuing order to Vextal and Raptus to move to the labs to deal with the intruders, he then decided to also try his next test. Inputting a few codes, he watched on his screen as the cell that held Elniri open, all security measures deactivating. The doors the moved further into the compound became locked down as well as in any route that could let her wander. Sen made sure that her path would lead her straight towards the Dark Jedi Forces.

Time passed and Elniri wasn't even sure whether she imagined louder noises in the distance, as if there was a fight or not. There was nothing she could do, given that her chains held her. Herself being imprisoned, it barely mattered to her. In fact... what mattered anymore... She was only here to suffer... if she ever came free, they would suffer as well... and yet, that last spark of resistance within her mind, the torch, which kept her going, it was growing weaker and weaker...
Suddenly there was a noise, close to her. As if... something lost power. Wait, was that her? In surprise the Maelibus turned around, as she saw one forcefield go down. Another... yet another layer! Before the last force field went down, the spark became a thunderstorm, as with a terrible shriek, she formed up strengths and shattered the shackles that bound her previously, the chains around her claws being ripped from the weird cage, she was trapped in. FREE! She was free!
Before the nearby guards knew what hit them, the creature jumped out of its cell like a hellhound, a sharp swipe of Elniri's blade-like tail ripping through the vulnerable parts of the first guard. The second one barely could even scream, as he was tackled down in a furious howl of the devil like creature, razor-sharp teeth beneath the hornplated face facing him like a mask of terror. An immense pain went through his neck, as Elniri took the first bloody bite she had taken in quite a while. The tables have turned. She was not the prey anymore. Looking down at the mutilated corpse in front of her, she realized that she was now the hunter once more. A predator among prey! And they would suffer from it... oh, they shall suffer!
Noticing a large ammount of people nearby, roughly from the direction from where the turmoil came, the Maelibus sensed that there was prey nearby. Smells she had smelled before, some more foul than others. She had spent enough time inside her prison to remember at least some of them. Like a spider she searched herself a way, quickly on her fours, until she found a vent through which she would fit perfectly. Out of sight. Taking the advantage, for she was the hunter. Elniri wasn't necessarily familiar with the place at where she was, but it was different to Iego. Hard, grey-burrows-of-dull-shiny-metal surrounded the area, less moldy than the rocks and earth of Iego, where she could freely burrow around, taking her time. No, there were multiple sounds, her prey was distracted, in a fight. She needed to get quickly there, only get rid of these nasty iron-window-prisons in front of her, rip them, tear them! Time was of the essence and she quickly felt herself getting closer to one target from which she felt power, just as herself. Her mind could reach out to this one and given of what she felt, Elniri was certain that the prey would talk to her as well, if she would allow it. A Maelibus doesn't communicate with prey though.
Tearing apart another opening from the vent with her steel-sharp claws, Elniri then lunged forward, taking a massive jump on the target in question. She only got a brief glance at Woman-touched-by-flames, as she decided to name her unknown prey, before she let out a melodic shriek once more, a sound as beautiful as it was terrifying within the minds of those around her. Yes! Make it suffer! Rip and tear! Rip and tear!
The brief second of Elniri's siren-like ability allowed her to distract Lilith just enough for her to land on her, her claws pinning the force user to the ground. Nearby soldiers immidiately began to shoot their blasters upon Elniri, solely realizing too late, that some of the shots were deflected by her horn-like skin. The Maelibus ignored the pain of those wounds, which actually hit her vulnerable spots, making her look even more invincible for those who stood around her. Not even allowing Lilith to reach out for her lightsaber, she mercilessly grabbed her sword arm, ripping it from her torso without any mercy, before she would quickly rise from her prey and jump like a fiendish dog next to her side,as she scared away those, who wanted to aid their fallen mistress. ~I shall harvest upon you, Sen-torturer~, the devilish-female voice, as if it was spoken by multiple entities at once, would echo in closer range, as she looked down on Lilith, ~and my harvest begins with you. Your flesh shall belong to Elniri.~ And then, before the sorceress could even react upon the six-limbed devil next to her, the razor-sharp tail of Elniri stung into her torso like the sting of a scorpion. Lilith could feel the immense pain, as not solely her heart and inner organs were ripped from her rib cage, but also electrical charges of force lightning began to burst through her whole body. The electric charge paralyzed her completely, perhaps even made the agony she was feeling unbearable, as she was unable to move while she was dying. Those soldiers in closer range quickly backed away as they saw this horror unfolding within seconds, as Elniri just swallowed the heart and the parts, still hanging on her tail end in one piece. They began to ran and partially even dropped their heavy weapons, when Elniri's head quickly snapped into their direction, for they knew that they would share the same fate as Lilith if they remained. Some though were still present and decided to foolishly fire their weapons upon her. For Elniri though it was additional prey, presented to her like a gift on a silver plate...

This woman of brimstone and hellfire truly did waste most of her precious time talking, Mariah noted with a faint, wry smile. Laced with wrongful assumptions and coy confidence, Lilith's words played no part in Mariah's judgment to leave her to Ifrit and her men. As she dashed further into the laboratory, there was an itching desire in the back of her mind. A part of the crimson-haired woman wanted to show the woman where she had gone wrong and let that lesson become her dying one.
The Empress's own words echoed in her head, though, as a subtle reminder. She had a more significant mark on her list. There was absolutely no way that this woman could pass as the mastermind behind everything--this laboratory, her order's espionage, or the acts upon her own body that turned her into a hellish figure. No, there was someone higher-up, and nothing could make Mariah forget the reason she was here.
Of course, though, the Empress wasn't so foolish as to believe that Lilith was this laboratory's only defense. Although she hastened her footsteps to find the Sith Alchemist leader before encountering another foe, these types of missions rarely went as one hoped. Upon running into yet another snag, Mariah slowed, a glow of crimson alighting her pale skin with an ominous warning to the two women.
A Zeltron and an Echani stood, both armed and ready for her. Mariah smirked. The Zeltron was familiar, and when the Echani spoke her name, it all pieced itself together in the flash of an instant.
"Lexi. Lexi Veron," the crimson-haired woman murmured slowly, as though savoring each syllable of her foe's name before cutting her down to a lifeless husk. "I had a feeling you were bad news the moment I heard your name. You're just lucky that the Fallen has a...soft spot for women like you. You won't find such luck with me."
A faint snarl of disapproval rumbled beneath her tones. However, that sound seemed to dissipate as Lexi's pheromones wafted through the air, laced with her hypnotic words attempting to dull the fires fueling Mariah's desire to fight. No wonder she managed to get through the Fallen's defenses. There was just a single issue in Lexi's attempts, though, with the Empress's resolve.
Mariah clenched her jaw as a scornful glance born of some semblance of deep-seated 'passion' burned in her crimson eyes. Swiftly, the small woman lifted her free hand, summoning Lexi off her feet in the process, and crushed the Force around the Zeltron's throat as tightly as possible. Most would drop their lightsaber at some point, be it instinctively to grasp at their throat or after a few seconds when the overwhelming lightheadedness crept over their consciousness. Mariah remained wary of this one, though. With her other hand, Mariah sent a wave of Force Push towards the Echani, the Empress's active saber humming with the movement from behind her to in front.
"You're right," the Empress growled in answer to Lexi's pheromone-laced claims. "I don't want to fight you. I want to slaughter you."
Behind piercing, narrowed eyes, Mariah let a beat drop, a split moment for the girls to question their survivability of this encounter with the Dark Jedi's Empress and make peace with their inevitable deaths. After that second, the woman drew the Zeltron, still dangling within Mariah's Force Choke, towards her with a sudden jolt, to meet her red blade, hungry to tear their souls from their bodies.
They would make excellent sacrifices to Chaos, but Mariah would need to be quick. They were not the ultimate goal, even if she would savor cutting down the very one who walked their halls.
"Hold the line!"
Disorder erupted upon the entry of this newest creature and caused the Dark Jedi forces to scramble. This creature's -- no demon's terrible power revealed nothing short of a merciless massacre. Thankfully, for now, this experiment seemed to have a common goal as they did. How long that might remain true, though, was a cause for concern among the men. Trading one powerful enemy for another did not bode well for them.
Some seemed to hold tight to the idea of taking Elniri down while she was distracted with Lilith and fruitlessly continued their rain of attacks upon her. Others could only watch in horror. The Fallen, though, knew he needed to act quickly to keep his men from becoming this creature's next prey.
"Terrano, Verania: take your teams and move on the Empress's location!"
Between his spell of protection and several powerful incantations up his sleeve, the Fallen knew that his team had the best chance of survival, should Elniri turn and also attempt to eliminate them. Brutus and Fabia seemed to understand as much, even regretfully, and took charge of their units. Carefully, they encircled Elniri and the carnage before taking off in the same direction as the Empress.
Stepping forward before his men, the Fallen called off his men's attacks and looked down upon the experiment. The cloth which covered his eyes glowed green as he 'stared' deeply upon her as she finished wreaking havoc over Lilith's remains. Blood like lava seeped over her maw and tail. Remnant lightning charges crackled over the corpse beneath her as an ominous warning to those who ventured too close.
Elniri. You have suffered greatly here. You seek to destroy your cruel master. We seek the same. Let us help you. We are not your enemy.
Ifrit had caught whispers of Elniri's thoughts, a cacophony of synchronized voices ushering her words. Sen-torturer. Harvest. Elniri. Her name, or so he assumed. Only time would tell if she had any sense or reason left from the experimentations, but the Fallen needed to try to break through to her. From the short moments of witnessing the carnage against their shared enemy, he knew that gaining an unlikely ally would be far better for both of them than to fight each other. His men behind him stood poised, though, and ready to take down this Maelibus experiment if she'd rather that fate instead.

During her time within the Dark Jedi Order, Lexi had learned quite a bit. Not only about the Blackguard, but about the members of the sub-faction below them as well. However, among all those that had resided in that Ambrian temple, it was this woman who had eluded her. Barely a glimpse of the woman had ever been seen and only through the records in the archives did she have an inkling as to the crimson-haired woman's identity. Even a decent understanding of the Empress was hard to gather, something unexpected from those within the order she helped run. But if there was anything that she could gather, it was that Mariah was a fierce and focused warrior. As such, despite her confidence, she suspected the chance her pheromones failing at about fifty percent.
What she wasn't expecting, though, was how quickly the woman would react. But it shouldn't have been. It was a natural expectation to think that after being spied on for months on end, those that had been infiltrated would attack with a burning fury that rivaled little else. Feeling the grip that suddenly and violently wrapped around her throat, her saber fell to the ground. Lolelia was sent flying back shortly after. It was then the words came. But there wasn't fear in Lexi's eyes. No, it was a defiant glare that shattered the delicate seductress she was but a moment ago. After a second of being held there, she was summoned towards the Empress, the red blade flowing around to meet her.
Then came the erratic sounds of saber on saber that seemed almost deafening. What should have ended in a bisected Zeltron became a chance to fight back. On her knees, a bit back from her original position was Lolelia, both hands outstretched with her saber in her right. With one hand, she negated the Pull Mariah was using on Lexi to stop her just before the blade found her. With the other, she had summoned Lexi's blade from the ground as extra insurance by causing it to block Mariah's lightsaber.
"Flawless, huh? Might need to work on that, Lexi."
Seeing her small, rapidly shrinking window, Lexi focused all her consciousness together as delivered a Force Push against the Empress to force her back and which released her grip around her neck, allowing the Zeltron to fall to the floor. Grabbing her saber, she took a few heavy breaths as she bore her teeth to the Dark Jedi.
"My name is Darth Amia. Do try and remember it as you join your ancestors in the underworld." As she made her claim, the Echani stepped up beside her and the two pressed forward with their attack against Mariah.
As the teams began to move to the other end of the labs to try and catch up with their Empress, leaving Elniri to the Fallen, another door opened as two others stepped out. A warrior fully clad in armor, giving no identity to their race or gender, and a bipedal creature that seemed to be a warrior born of Sen's experiments. Glancing to the mauled corpse of Lilith, the armored one spoke up, the voice resonating with a distorted, male tone.
"Seems like Lilith failed and has met an unpleasant end. I guess her abilities were over-exaggerated. A perfect chance to prove who the strongest among us is."
The creature stood there eyeing the groups they had cut off, growls coming from its maw.
Indeed. I will show you all the power that's been given to me. The voice echoed around them and in the heads of those present as crimson beams of thier single lightsabers came to life and the duo moved in to begin their assault.

There was a brief silence after The Fallen had spoken towards Elniri, herself estimating the chances of how she would take down this daring challenger, as he withdrew his tinmen. The Maelibus wasn't a dumb animal, for she understood clearly what the mysterious figure in front of her wanted to tell her. A dark aura surrounded it, much more powerful than the one of whom she had slain. Yet, it could be a trick. A trap. His presence wasn't necessarily familiar, yet honeyed words neither would prove anything to her. Anyone could claim to not work with her torturer. Especially if he had his own advantage within the whole cause to lure her into a prison from which she wouldn't escape again. Like a Maelibus would lure its prey straight into their arms with its hypnotic singing pattern...
~ Sen-torturer is no master of mine, Horned-Man-Dark-Wings . Shall never be master of mine. Your words-bittersweet may be true. But may be cry for help, may try to decieve. I'm sure your flesh would be... tasty... ~ Rising from her hound-like movement, she stood on her two feet, an alien so mysterious and terrible to look at that it could nearly be thought of as an actual demon, slowly taken a few steps into the direction of the Fallen. Proud and stoic, another coin-side of the predator's true nature. Despite the claws and her bestial appearence, she moved forth nearly like a dancer, making it seem as if she was just a slow target, slower then when she was crawling on her fours... the Dark Jedi could easily tell that this movement was a decieving one, making it hard to estimate when she would strike. It seemed as if a fight against this experiment was inevatable.
As suddenly Elniri's head turned around, nearly alarmed. There were new presences within the force, two of them! She couldn't feel where exactly, but their smell indicated roughly that they were coming closer! ~More... prey!~ Within her excitement, Elniri's thoughts could be heard by everyone in range, as there was a frightening glee within her voice, when she turned around, her tail already lunging like a crossbow bolt forward to strike its first target. Claws were barely missing the two unknown targets, who could luckily dodge the initial attacks, but powered by force-lightning, the Maelibus roared in mad excitement as it located one of them, a Red-Glow-Blade. Three deers for the wolf to tear at once, two certainly presenting themselves on the silve plate. Horned-Man-Dark-Wings would have to show whether she will maim this stag, too or if she might spare it... for later, perhaps.

At least one of them had some sense and had prepared herself for the coming fight. Lolelia's seductress-friend was lucky. Mariah was not here to play games or humor them in some long, drawn-out honor battle. When the Echani stopped the Empress's blade from meeting its mark, Mariah simply smirked. Her frustration simmered. If these two wanted to join the many others whose only legacy was becoming another fallen foe of the crimson-haired warrior, though, so be it.
Mariah pressed forward, Force Pushing the Zeltron to the side while she lept over the Echani, catching one burning red blade with the other just before her feet hit the ground. She had dealt with worse odds than this. These two would soon learn why she was always the last one standing, the only one still breathing.
Elniri was either bred or tortured to be a cruel huntress. That much was certain. Ifrit remained standing tall at his imposing height and stature, though, as she swayed like a predatorial animal, locked onto her next kill. A battle of demons very well may have erupted here, this laboratory serving as their battleground. Although the Fallen seemed prepared for it, the rest of his men stood wary behind him, hiding their fear behind shields and weapons.
Very slowly, Ifrit lifted a hand towards Elniri. A sign of peace. A sign of attack. It seemed to matter little, though, as a new round of enemies made their presences known. Elniri's attention shifted so quickly as if Ifrit and his men were no longer present in the room with her. Just as the Fallen had mentioned, they shared a common enemy. So long as that enemy was here, he may have a fighting chance to keep a peaceful pact between his order and this uncertain ally.
However, the two groups, pressing forward, scattered. Gleaming black lightning suddenly struck out against their foes, and they rightfully knew that they would be next. Brutus and Fabia attempted to shout commands throughout the chaos to no avail. It took Ifrit's voice to boom through the air and the Force before restoring any type of order.
"Enemies spotted! Elniri is not to be harmed! We hold this position! Verania, with me. Terrano, go to the Empress!"
The teams to fight here seemed hesitant to stay with the experiment, but his command was clear. Questionable, but clear. Just as they dealt with the earlier beasts, the teams rotated attack formations behind the Guard's shields. A barrage of Force magicks laced with the Knights' blades, the two teams backed up Elniri to ensure the swift defeat of her prey and their enemy. Once a clear path was made, Brutus silently commanded his team with a simple gesture, but they were quick to press forward while the rest were distracted by chaos and bloodshed.
It was almost as if Mariah was toying with the two. She offered no real advances while Lolelia and Lexi continued their seemingly endless barrage of attacks on the one woman. Mariah appeared to dance effortlessly between the two, only raising her saber to parry when absolutely necessary. First, she was catching onto their attack styles--rudimentary and messy. From what Mariah had gathered about Lexi, she was a seductress, a seasoned warrior of the mind and manipulation. Zeltrons were good for that, and although they were also fierce warriors, time and experience was something a young one like Lexi had. Lolelia seemed to be cut from the same cloth. Second, the Empress needed to wear these two out somewhat to level the playing field. Lastly, though, and most importantly, Mariah sought to frustrate the two, to turn their already underdeveloped swordsmanship into an even more reckless and sloppy development.
Clash. Dodge. Parry. Sidestep. Retreat. Advance. Mariah locked blades with Lexi before pushing her away to duck under the Echani's follow-up. The crimson-haired woman shifted focus for the split-second opening she had. Slamming her palm into a dizzying attack at her temple, the Empress followed up with a debilitating blow upon the Echani's diaphragm with her heel, sending her reeling and crumbling to the ground.
"I thought you were going to send me to join my ancestors, Veron," Mariah taunted with cool confidence, extinguishing her lightsaber in some show of power. "I'm waiting."
However, the Empress also revealed something even a bit more sinister. She wasn't out of breath. Sweat hadn't even broken out on her brow. She had been toying with them this whole time. As Mariah had hoped, the Zeltron woman let out a screaming growl and advanced for another powerful blow, hoping to cut down the woman while she was 'unarmed.' Mariah huffed a laugh and outstretched her free hand towards her side and stepped towards Lolelia.
Lexi's blade cut through flesh, and a shrill scream quickly diminished into a death rattle. Instead of crimson eyes begging for life, only confused, silver ones pleaded with the Zeltron. With the help of the Force, Lolelia became an excellent meat shield. Mariah allowed the shock to set in, that Lexi had just personally killed whatever friend or ally she saw in the Echani. Mariah then pressed forward, pressing herself close against the Echani corpse, but the vicious sound of her crimson blade echoed. Tilted at a precise upwards angle, it pierced cleanly through the shell of Lolelia, finding Lexi's chest to quickly join her with her friend.
Brutus and his squad rushed further into the laboratory, seemingly having no more issues running into random enemies. However, upon reaching their target, his pace slowed to a stop, as did his team's.
"I hope we aren't interrupting anything..."
Three women were pinned against another, connected by a single red lightsaber--the Empress's lightsaber. It must have been a sight, judging by his tone. Mariah simply cocked her head towards the group as she deactivated her saber with a hiss. A deafening 'thump' echoed in the silence after as the two bodies lifelessly hit the floor.
"Hardly," Mariah answered. "You have uncanny timing."
"I ask forgiveness that we couldn't be here sooner to aid you, Empress."
Mariah scoffed and arched an eyebrow at Brutus. She seemingly ignored his request with a shake of her head and started to head even deeper into the laboratory. It complicated things, having him there to fight alongside her, to monitor her. However, if she ran into any more dilemmas, she could always pawn him off to deal with those inconveniences for her. Time would tell.
"No time for the unnecessary," she called over her shoulder. "We have more important issues on our list today. Move out!"
With Brutus and his team on her tail, Mariah delved deeper into the laboratory on her ever-persistent hunt. The Sith Alchemist leader would soon share a fate like all the others.

Vextal and Raptus diverted their attention from the initial attacks at the Dark Jedi as Elniri made her attack. They split apart, the Maelibus passing between them with her claws and tail.
"Damn it! Why did Master Sen release this thing?! We can't fight both the invaders and her at the same time!" The echoing tone emanated from the vocalizer as Elniri let out her scream. The danger the creature possessed, especially not being under Sen's control yet was what warranted specialized security for her containment cell. Even with the explosions and flickering power, her location would have remained intact as it worked on its own power. Was he trying to test the capabilities of the creature against this foe? Possibly, but why not tell them so they could stay back?
There was an echoing grow in the Force from Raptus though he said nothing. Having Elniri lose was a problem, but she wasn't the only experiment that bore fruit under Sen. The creature had hated the Sith at one point as well until it began to realize what it gained from the man. It was no longer the creature it used to be, but something even more. Unleashing its own screech, its claws gripping its lightsaber tighter.
Suddenly, Raptus lept up to the ceiling, its feet, and freehand sinking into the metal roof before lunging forward into the mass of Dark Jedi that had gathered. Vextal gave a frustrated growl as he returned to his assault, eyes and senses focused on Elniri. If they were going to do this, then they'd make sure that the experiment would take out some of the Dark Jedi in its attack to fight them as they knew it desired.
As the Empress and Brutus's team went, they grew closer and closer to the end, the presence waiting at the end the suggested master of the labs. However, just when it seemed they would be in the clear, the sound of rapid clanging was heard. Metal moving against metal like something moving at a solid pace towards them. Through the final doorway in front of them soon appeared a droid, its frame skeletal in design with an elongated head. In its hand rested a lightsaber hilt as it gazed upon them
Organics never stop amusing. Still, to have reached this location, you have overcome the odds. However, this is where your path ends. Your victories ended with your last. Activating its red lightsaber, it allowed its body to bend forward slightly as it readied itself for an attack. It stood there, it photoreceptors glowing red before lunging forward quickly to strike at Mariah, then those behind her.

With precision Elniri chased after Vextal, which she decided to nickname Dark-Helmet-Blade, given that she knew no name for the individual on her prey list nor was even bothering too much figuring out its actual name. Keeping her senses also so far on Screeching-Blade and Horned-Man-Dark-Wings, she barely cared for the other individuals around her, as the previous blaster shots were barely scratching her carapace-like skin. Some parts still itched from the wounds she recieved inbeween the plate sections, yet nothing she felt in her state of adrenaline and pure lust for murder. Jumping forward she pushed aside some of the Fallen's soldier, tackleing them aside, as she was now lunging forward on her fours like a cheetah, her tail swinging deadly behind her as random force lightning erruptions shocked those, who couldn't jump aside quickly into safety. If Elniri even understood the Fallen's previous words was hard to tell... so far though, her blood thirst for other force users seemed to be higher than bothering with mere insects, she could easily kill at another point. Dodging most of the lightsaber attacks from Vextal, Elniri's claws scratched over the opponent's armour several times - yet this one proofed to be harder to crack than the previous individual she surprised. Moreover, the hunter had to be careful now that the other two force users wouldn't backstab her. Like a whip her tail mercilessly aimed after any attempts from behind her back to reach her, as she took another jump, lunging once more at Vextal. Now that she was set loose on open terrain, her inhumane agility and stamina became within this duel between man and beast an important factor, as it was only a matter of time until she would overpower the Glow-Red-Blade in front of her. The Sith might be cunning, more expierienced than her when it came to wielding a light, deadly weapon, but even their lightsaber forms would have trouble keeping up with her own savage ways of brutally murdering a target on which she had focused. One swipe. Another swipe. Sting! Swipe. Swipe! Screech! Sting! Sting!
Like a furious cascad her attacks would rain down upon Vextal, while the smell of burnt hornplates filled the air, as some of the lightsaber swipes barely found their target. It would only be a matter of time and Elniri was aware of it. One more lamb getting slaughtered for the harvest...

If it wasn't the newest enemies that made themselves known, it was Elniri who took fraction by fraction of Ifrit's men. It was immediately seen that recalling another unit to stay was a wise decision. Elniri's tail swiped with such strength that the Praetorian Guard front was knocked aside with ease. Their shields were the only things between them and her electrical sting. However, with another swishing attack, a few of the mages were not so lucky. What more, another experiment came lunging at the second unit, sending a few knights reeling and another crying out before their deaths.
However, Ifrit and Fabia took charge of their units with as much poise as one could harbor in the heat of battle. Issuing their commands, those left standing rotated through offensive and defensive maneuvers, trying to protect themselves from both Elniri and Raptus alike. Learning quickly that this experiment also possessed resistance to a brute physical assault, the second unit's remaining mages incanted their spells. Some were dizzying, sleep incantations, while others of overpowering weight and gravity. If they could slow down this creature, the first unit's mages effortlessly followed up with practiced synchronicity with a spell that would seep through the skin, the armor, the shell, and target the organs within the body by bursting them, one by one.
As the mages took control of Raptus, the knights and remaining guard switched out to offer Elniri back-up should she need. She had already revealed her ability to withstand their attacks employing armor, whether natural or alchemically advanced. However, with a silent command, a clawed hand held high in the air, the group paused, allowing Elniri to wreak her havoc, seek her revenge, draw the blood she so desired. They would only interfere if she found herself cornered or overwhelmed. However, in her swollen rage, it seemed that she would hardly need that aid. Instead, the men issued their silent prayers that they would not join their fallen brethren by her hands next.
Just like that, Mariah ran into the very next problem. She couldn't say that she was too surprised. It may have been a small operation here, but the Sith Alchemist had their fair share of followers. The Empress didn't bother paying attention to these overtalkative cultists. At least this one only bothered with some quip or another before rushing her.
Mariah pursed her lips thoughtfully as her eyes narrowed upon her charging opponent. Skillfully, she deflected it with a single saber and danced around him, allowing the droid access to Brutus and his squad. Without the need for a command, the group of guards, knights, and mages began their rein of attacks on the newest intruder.
"Droids," Mariah muttered to herself, as though noting its pathetic programming with disappointment, before dashing off further into the laboratory.
Just as calculated, the Empress left this newest disturbance to the unit. Her mission was far from complete, and she wouldn't be bothered by any other detours or distractions if she could help it.
Brutus's unit was unfamiliar with whatever experiments this droid may have been through. Nonetheless, they still employed a similar tactic that they used for any kind of droid. The guards prepared to block DK-F8's incoming attacks as the mages prepared their assault. The incantation was simple, an altered spell of the Force ability Ionize. A purple electrical aura radiated around the whole group and centralized around the fingertips of the three mages. Once an opening had made itself known, the mages unleashed the full fury of the spell, an ion blast that would typically shut down a droid's system with ease. It was a powerful enough blast to shut down several dozen droids at the strength it was cast.
However, there was no time to see how such an attack impacted the droid. Whether reckless or not, the knights followed up with their sabers. Blades of varying hues altered their patterns, the knights hoping to swiftly cut down DK-F8 as swiftly as possible so that they may be able to rejoin with the Empress and offer her the back-up she may find she'll need.

In the blink of an eye, everything had come to a sudden end. First came the deflection that led DK-F8 into the group of soldiers. However, there was no resistance or hesitation in this as the droid went with it better than most organics and continued the charge towards Brutus. Blades met as they blocked DK's attack, only to be met by the stream of purple electricity. The droid stumbled back and seemed to shake and stutter under the attack as it seemed to take effect. Whether it was working or it was resisting mattered not as it gave them all the time needed to successfully make their attack, bringing the droid to the ground in pieces. From that moment, no other actions came from it.
But it had all been a facade. DK-F8 had grown beyond its creator's wishes and sought its freedom. Yet it didn't have the power to rebel or simply walk away. The arrival of the Dark Jedi and the elimination of all the others thus far created the proper opportunity. And so, for as capable as he was, he allowed himself to fall without effort to further reinforce the strength of their enemy. Sen would be watching and seeing his final defense fall so quickly would certainly disrupt his spirit.
For now, as his frame lay lifeless on the floor, the droid began to upload itself through the wireless connection onto the holonet so that it could return again at a later time once all was finished here.
Raptus slashed and hacked as he moved through the group of Dark Jedi. His claws and lightsaber slashed away at anyone who stood in their way. His skin had been reinforced through experiments to deter some effect of energy weapons, but still hadn't the strength of Elniri's armored skin. As such, he received damage, but it either seemed to have no effect or angered him.
His vision in the Force allowed him to take in more than most. In this case, it was seeing that Vextal had taken Elniri's full attention, allowing him to focus on the enemy. And through this, he had seen who led the charge, a being that looked like a demon on its own. He pushed forward through the Dark Jedi towards Ifrit as the mages began their work. Feeling the effects, it caused Raptus to slow a bit as he tried shaking off the effects. Giving off a screech, the dove at some of the mages, as his Force Sight began to indicate they were making the attacks. But he was slowly coming down as the effects of the spells worked to take him down.
There was nothing left that stood between Mariah and the Alchemist. Just a little bit of hall and the final room. Only a single defense remained and compared to everything that had come before, it was basic at best. Reaching the final door, the woman would find a stronger, more reinforced door. As she grew close, secret panels opened to reveal four blaster cannons and two stun cannons that began to fire on her.
Sen stood at the large holoscreen looking over the data and the video surveillance. He heard the sounds of the blasters but knew, at this point, there was no stopping her. It was an inconvenience at most. It proved to be true as she burst into the chambers. Not acknowledging her immediately, it allowed the woman to take in the room. Nothing of serious note except where he stood to the left side. A large holoscreen and a control panel that no doubt held all the information gained throughout his time.
Finally stepping away, he moved to the center of the room as he looked at her.
"So, you finally made it. You've certainly made a mess of my work. All this effort to infiltrate and destroy the Blackguard lost, thanks to the thralls of the order. No matter. I'll just have to start over, starting with each of you." Removing his lightsaber and bringing the crimson blade to life, he lifted his free hand and unleashed a stream of Force Lightning at Mariah.
