Kacik field is a medium sized standard class spaceport a kilometer from Overlook Base. Predominantly military in function, and serving as the headquarters for the Osarian Guard, the spaceport occasionally handles civilian traffic also. Kacik Field includes a handful of small hangars and repair yards suitable for fighters, freighters, and light transports, a central terminal building with some limited supplies, and the military headquarters towards the end of the field closest to Overlook Base, including the primary barracks. The majority of the field consists of vast, open areas where larger ships can land.

[/i][/b][/ul][/ul] The Marauder dipped just below the clouds, giving Janse his first glimpse of the Outpost. A faint smile bowed his lips as he studied the barren field that passed as its hangar. There were smaller constructions dotting the landscape, some even military in function, but for the most part the shuttles visiting the Outpost simply set down on the empty plain. Too bad I have to deploy and run, the Echani mused. Ah, well. Bigger fish to fry and all that.
He clasped his hands behind his back and turned to address the officers assembled on the bridge. "Give the order to deploy, and have target data fed to our gunnery crews." They had left their fighters in orbit to assist the Demon's forces, so he would have to rely on the frigate's turbolaser cannons to beat back whatever the Jedi decided to throw at them while they were offloading troops. Janse's hand rested on the hilt of his vibrosword as he watched through the viewport.
From this height the ships dotting Kacik Field looked like miniature toys left scattered about; the troops scurrying around them ants. Those ships would soon rush up to meet them, once the Outpost's defenders realized they were under attack. Word had probably already reached the garrison of the assault on the platform in orbit. It would not be long before the battle was joined once more.
As if summoned by his thought a fighter screamed past the Marauder's viewport. The sound of the frigate's laser cannons returning fire nearly drowned out the commlink as it crackled to life. "Attention, this is a restricted airspace." A desperate voice informed them. Do they realize they are doomed? Janse wondered before ordering the channel closed. They were here to reave, not negotiate.
Three more fighters came up to meet them as they drifted lazily over the field. One took a barrage from the frigate's laser cannons right away and fell back to the earth in a shower of fire and metal, but the rest circled in close and strafed along the Marauder's side, peppering it with lasers.
"Sir, assault shuttles are away."

Not much had changed on Osarian since three years ago. Eliel walked out onto Kacik Field, eyes roving the myriad of ships even though she knew the one she was looking for was probably in storage. It hadn't taken much to gain access: a flash of her mechanic's security badge and not stopping. Despite the more military nature of the spaceport, the security didn't seem to care. The Jedi had pulled out shortly after the fall of Yavin and there had been an assault by Mandos but life went on for the general populace. Who cared if a mechanic set foot in a spaceport?
The ship was effectively "dry-docked" in a hangar tucked far from the landing pads and active airspace. Lana hadn't been able to tell her much about the ship: just its location. Unsurprising, since the AI had effectively died above an isolated planet. Eli walked up to the dusty hull, grime from years of storage thoroughly coating the durasteel plating. Everything was locked up tight. Oil and dirt caked the landing gear and effectively locked them in place. Eli took a deep breath and placed her hand on the hull. Hoping that LE-01 still had background scanners running on low-power.
"Oh-one? Are you there?"

...what?
Eliel's hopes were indeed correct, as the AI on board had been sitting in low-powered silence for years. It was an unfortunate recurring state for all of the units of her class, and as her processes readied themselves, she allowed herself a hope of her own: an end to this solitude.
It appeared that there was a young girl outside the craft, making contact. Inside, the holodroid that a Jedi Master had loaned the AI twitched and stood. A moment passed, and its hologram activated, flickering slightly before assuming the appearance of a young woman with long brown hair, garbed in a simple T-shirt and shorts. It was a drastic sight of normalcy alongside Eliana Shan's usual style and other creations, but it fit her just fine.
She walked toward the boarding ramp, a frown passing over her face as the ramp took longer than expected to begin lowering. Clearly, the ship was in more disrepair than she had anticipated. Still, it did open about two-thirds of the way before coming to a halt. The frown remained as she walked a few steps down, squatting down to view her guest instead of continuing the rest of the way.
"Never left."
It had been some time since she had had reason to hear her own voice. Her expression shifted to a small smile before she spoke again.
"How do you know about me?"

When a young woman dressed simply appeared and squatted down on the ramp, Eliel honestly wasn't surprised. After meeting both Leigh and Lana, she'd come to understand that each iteration in the LE series had its own personality and tastes. Whether or not Shan intended it, she found it incredible.
"Your sisters," Eli answered. No point in beating around the bush: if there was any family drama, best to get it out and be done with it. Especially considering where she was intending to bring 01. "They told me your last known location so I came to find you. Will you come back with me?"
Other questions sprang to her mind, questions she desperately wanted answered, but she buried those for the time being. Later. One thing at a time.

That answer raised several more questions, and though she did manage to keep her holographic face mostly constant, her eyebrows went up at Eliel's words.
"Sure." She paused for a moment, just long enough for the average organic to process her response, then.. "How's 02 holding up?"
The question would hopefully yield more answers than had actually been prompted. The last she had known, LE-02 had been killed when her ship was destroyed in the Helska system. Yet, this girl had said sisters, plural.. which implied that 02 had survived the event. That being the case, 01 had several ideas for how her successor would have handled the situation. It was a practical question, one that would let her know whether her visitor had actually been in contact with her sisters.. and one that would hopefully let her know if her sister was okay.

"Lana? She's adjusting well, I think," Eli said, running a hand through her short hair. "An engineering doctor was nice enough to build her a new HRD chassis. I think she and Leigh got into it a bit ago. Not sure if they worked all that out."
She gestured at the ship. "She still fly? 'Cause we can go whenever you want."

She nodded, though it became apparent with her next words that she wasn't responding to the question at hand.. not yet, at any rate.
"Good. I imagine her old MCU would have been destroyed along with the rest of the Mantis."
She looked down after that, her head tilting slightly as she focused her attention on the status of the ship in which she was housed. The motion carried with it a slight line of static across her midriff, and a few locks of hair fell in front of her face. Then the moment was over, and she returned her attention to the young woman. Her hand came up, brushing her hair back behind her ear -- a gesture that, given her holographic nature, was entirely unnecessary.
"She can fly, though.. you'll have to tell me where exactly it is we're going."
Her features turned to a small smile after that.
"And I wouldn't mind knowing what to call you, either."

"Oh, gods, I'm sorry. Name's Eli." Eli's cheeks turned a bright pink from the error. "We- We're, Lana and me, we live on Felucia. Leigh tags along with some Jedi I think. None? Nan? Something like that. So she usually just visits, if she makes an appearance."
Something LE-01 said sparked her interest. "What was her old MCU like?"

A soft laugh emerged from her vocoder.
"'Clunky' was the exact term she used for it."
The hologram flickered again, only this time there was no quick recovery to normal: rather, the entire thing shimmered, then resolidified into a suit of armour, much like Eliana Shan's signature set, though the shoulder pads were drastically reduced in size and the entire suit was coloured various shades of blue. She stood then, taking a few more steps down the ramp until her head was once more visible, though she still refused to walk the entire length.
"I can't fault her for her opinion, either. She said it never quite fit her. I didn't really think it was her style, but hopes of an upgrade died along with our creator."
She reached her cannon out, and the hologram shimmered once more, this time as a gradual ripple that started at the cannon's firing point and spread across her until her hologram had reset to its standard form.. the end result being that she was holding her hand out to Eli, a polite grin on her face.
"And the name you're looking for is most likely Vidalu Na'an. A fitting assignee for 03. Need a hand?"
It was a clear invitation aboard the neglected vessel. LE-01's conversation served a two-fold purpose: firstly, it masked the fact that she had to take the time to postulate Felucia's current position based on outdated data, as well as the positions of any hazards that might have moved into their path. Secondly, and more relevant given the relatively brief amount of time such calculations would take.. she had been alone for years and had had neither cause nor opportunity for any sort of intelligent discussion.
She, like the other LEs, had grown tired of being alone.

"Oh, that looks a lot like Leigh's," Eli said when the hologram shifted. Originally, she thought 01 was a projected hologram but when the image rippled and phased into a new image, she caught a glimpse of the droid chassis underneath. It was a neat chassis, one she hadn't seen before. "Eliana gave you all different personalities. Why didn't she give you different bodies?"
01 offered her hand and Eli took it, gripping it above the wrist as she clambered onto the jammed ramp. "That's probably right. Wouldn't know if it's a good fit or not. Leigh doesn't talk to me much anymore and when she was on Felucia for a good while, the Jedi had her restricted to 'authorized personnel.' I think she's alright though. Hasn't come into the labs or bays with problems."
The inside of the ship sat in just as much neglect as the outside. Dust and grime coated the walls and floor, cobwebs hung in corners, and the only clean spot looked to be where 01 had been sitting. Eli crossed her legs and sat on the floor, looking up at the droid. "So. Your sisters have chosen names. Do you have one? Or do you want me to just call you by your designation?"

01 had been careful not to let her weight become imbalanced when the girl had taken her offer of a lift up, lest she potentially fall out ship and close to the edge of her safety zone. She still had a bit of leeway for how far she could go, but when she had been this isolated for this long, she knew better than to push her limits: as far as she knew, no rescue had ever been coming for her..
The ship interior was indeed neglected, and as Eliel took her seat, LE-01 walked past her toward the meter-high cylindrical pedestal in the center of the main hold. She ran a hand across the top of it, brushing off the collected dust, and a wistful smile crossed her face as she began speaking again, her eyes not leaving its surface.
"I can't say I've given it much thought, to be honest. The only name I've ever taken was not my own. Nor should it be."
She turned her head to look back at her guest, letting her hand fall off the pedestal with the motion.
"I'll have to get back to you on that one."
Again the polite grin tugged at her lips, an all-too-human expression.. though she imagined that was no surprise for someone familiar with the other Life Emulator units.
"To answer your previous question, however, our creator did give us different bodies. We each had different housings, much larger than the ones you've seen."
She chuckled, her eyes closing slightly with the laugh, before turning and walking away toward the cockpit. A small blue-tinged light activated on top of the pedestal, and within two seconds, a miniature version of the hologram projected from her chassis had flickered into being over it, sitting cross-legged and looking over at Eliel. A pleasant smile lit the projection's face as she offered a small wave.
"Technically," she started, briefly flicking her gaze to the ceiling in a playful, knowing expression, "you're sitting inside my current body."
As she spoke, dim lights began activating around the hold, indicators of the ship's start-up sequence beginning. In the cockpit, 01's droid chassis was seated in the pilot's chair: another wholly unnecessary gesture, yet one she did anyway. The engines began their low thrum, and both droid and projection lit up in simultaneous expressions of joy and relief.
She had missed that sound.

Eli looked up and around at the fairly large spaceship. She suddenly felt much smaller than the Jedi Non looked with Leigh. " . . . Oh."
Lights flickered to life all around her as the ship—as 01 fully activated and the engines rumbled. It was . . . quite an odd experience, to be inside a person. Disconcerting, she'd heard some Jedi say. Yes, that was the word for it. Like travelling around inside the belly of someone. With less stomach juice. She rubbed the durasteel decking, idly wondering if 01 only had visual sensors or could feel her touch. The ship shuddered as it lifted from the hangar. 01 probably hadn't moved in years.
"Is there anything I can do 01?" she asked. "Help you out a bit?"

The change in Eli's expression was minute, but it was still noticeable, especially to an artificial intelligence designed to pick up on exactly that sort of thing. A few flickers of satisfaction ran through her subroutines, a reward for having successfully caused such a moment of realization.. but she also picked up on the slight discomfort, and her satisfaction was quickly covered by a pulse of concern. She wanted the young girl to be okay during the journey, and as a result, maintaining Eli's comfort level was moved up in her priority list.
In the microseconds that it took for those emotions to cross through her coding, a pleasant smile crossed her face, and her projection shifted its position so that one knee was up to her chest. It was a more casual look, and she hoped it would serve its purpose well.
"Actually, there is one thing," she said as the ship began its slow initial journey out of the hangar. "You could tell me a little about yourself."
A slight tilt of her head accompanied the last few syllables, in the opposite direction of her uplifted knee. Still the smile remained, and she waited just long enough for an organic to process the request without allowing time for a shocked response of denial.. just in case.
"You've met my sisters, and you knew them well enough for them to tell you where I was. I'm curious to know more about you, if that's alright."
The ship finally cleared the hangar, the hull shaking ever so slightly as it angled upward toward the outer atmosphere. Her projection flickered for a moment, something that could be passed off as a simple refreshing of the hologram, but the droid seated at the pilot's chair frowned. 01 made a note not to push the ship too hard, lest the years of neglect catch up with her in one catastrophic moment.
Better safe than sorry.

For a moment, Eli couldn't speak. "I'm a mechanic. There's not much else. I just . . . fix things."
She drew in the dust on the floor, small swooping patterns. "You. Your sisters. They . . . You all needed fixing."

Her laconic reply provided 01 with more information than had actually been verbally delivered.
Reticent. Unsure. Potential low self-esteem.
All these tidbits were noted and tucked away for continual later use. Now the girl was trailing her finger along the deck, and-..
...what?
The flicker returned to her projection as the end of Eli's response threw her for a loop -- quite literally, as her thought processes replayed that.
"You needed fixing."
She blinked a few times, then smiled.
"Yes. I suppose we did."
Caring.
"..we'll be entering hyperspace soon. You might want to make yourself comfortable."

Eli laughed at 01's suggestion. "I'm on a ship. I'm already comfortable."
